Is anyone else having issues with Market on the ADP 1.51 (CRB43) builds?
When I attempted to download an update to an existing app (GV) it downloads but when it tried to install "Installation error Insufficient storage available"
I have apps2sd and I've removed the stock ringtones from the build giving me only 89% of used space in /system directory and I have about 600mb free on my ext2 partition. Insufficient storage my a$$!
Anyone else have issues with this "Insufficient storage" error?
Do you have the cache etc all running off the SD? Apps is only one step, where it installs the apps to the SD. However unless the cache and so is moved, its like having firefox installed on one drive, but storing your browsing stuff on your main drive still. So youll run out of room unless its all on the SD.

Yeah. Cache is also on SD. Just to be certain, I cleared the cache. Same issue.
I'm assuming your using the app to put things on the sd. I used lucids script to do it to mine. I wonder if something did not get linked over. Tried using a file manager to see what's on the internal?

After clearing the cache and discovering that it didn't work (just for the heck of it I also cleared the cache directory on SD) I tried a wipe and everything downloads again. I fastboot flash my data.img and I'm back to the same issues. Not sure what the problem is but I'm considering a wipe. I already backed everything up by backup pro. I just loathing the fact that Market will loose all the apps that I had installed already (they will all say FREE instead of INSTALLED or UPDATE AVAILABLE). Is there a file for market that marks what has been downloaded/installed?
The tip Id recommend. Try Lucids script for moving the data and cache before doing anything. Since if your ready to wipe, cant hurt to try and see if it does it.
Next do the pre tip I did personally. I used atrackdog, Hit menu and do export, it saves to a .txt file. Open that file and you will know which apps YOU had on there vs everything in the my downloads.
I wish I could help more as far as cache and why its not working fully. Ive had my share of struggles and always lucked out.. which is why I hope the 1st option works for you.

Here is the answer!! i have the same problem, i tried to get out the sd card, and it worked(app installs succcesfully)!!
THE PROBLEM IS: EXT2 PARTITION (android do that.. wrong) the ext partition was causing the problem in the installation
1. download minitool partition wizard(or use a working partition tool)!
2. in recovery(volume down and boot phone into recovery) a, go into usb mode(mount and storage/usb mode) (if you have old recovery, download the 4.0...... i cant remember but the newest what you can find)
you have seen 2 partition and its crap!
3. creat 1 partition FAT32 PRIMARY! and format the SD card! (with all storage) this is all you need on your droid!!!(and your music, pictures and apps too)
4. after that, take rom on the SD and install it.
AND APP INSTALLATIoN WORKS!
Not the same phone but for what it's worth this does not appear to be hardware specific. This problem for me was caused by the Google app sync. As soon as it got too many apps in the install queue, it breaks and thinks the drive is full. I was able to fix it by going into recovery and clearing the cache again on my LG P999.
I am absolutely pulling my hair out here. I have 3 16GB sd cards - 2 16gb ridata class 6, and one patriot class 4.
No matter what I do, I cannot get any of them to work with Froyo. ONLY my 16gb cards fail - I have various other 4 and 8gb cards floating around that work 100% fine.
With this image, I can boot the first time, run the makepart.sh command (which gives a "too many cylinders on disk error), and reboot fine again. When I go to finish formatting the SD card partition using formatpart.sh, it completes the process but never reboots - it just gets stuck on the Android... text in the bottom corner of the screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922324
With these images, both 6.6 and 5.9, I can boot initially just fine but the sd card is only seen as 884mb. When I expand the partition to take up the rest of the free space (about 14gb) using EASEUS partition manager, I can boot fine next time but get literally hundreds of force closes to the point where I can't do anything. I've tried everything - creating new partitions as both logical and primary, resizing existing partitions, formatting from terminal and windows 7 x64, etc, etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883175
So I've had it. If someone can make me a flashable and bootable SD card image (preferably 6.6, but 5.9 works too) that simply works with the 16GB cards (so I can actually utilize the extra space) and includes the below I will paypal them $125.
-Google Apps
-Market
-Camera and Voice apps removed
-Dropbox added
-Mount/System added (if the app does not take up the full screen force close it once)
-Nook Reader
-Phone and TelephonyProvider removed
-SetupWizard renamed (Can't get it to work. Go into Setting>Accounts & sync to add gmail account after your wireless has been setup)
-Flash installed and updated
-Default Launcher removed
-Zeam added
-Button Savior
-Angry Birds
-Astro File Manager
-Gingerbread keyboard
I basically want a version of the customized Nookie, but with Angry birds, astro, and button savior instead of softkeys (I can't stand softkeys).
To clarify, it only has to work with 16GB cards to get the $125. If it can work with 4 and/or 8GB size cards too, I'll add another $50.
Thanks for looking.
$500 if someone can de-expand my snookie "wife" from 16GB to 2GB and isolate her to sit in her fixed emcc and cook me up some gingerbread. lol. and yes i have used the search function already.
Edit: I did my own research and came to this, I did not create it but I read that some people are using it on 16gb SD cards and it works perfectly. So I decided to put it here.
Updated 2/6 new version! Pandora, YouTube, MP3's all play now. Flash might work w/o choppiness now too(?) - let us know.
Installing Nookie Froyo custom Android 2.2 ROM to boot off of an SD card:
The first thing you're going to need is a micro-SD card:
*at least 2GB in size
*at least 4GB is recommended, in order to have several GB's of storage on the SD Card partition (what Android reads as actual SD card storage)
*Class 6 or 10 is preferred
*Class 4 may be fine, 2 will likely be slow
Be aware that some companies claim to be offering a higher-class card than they really are (as there's no independent third-party that monitors the Class specification). So researching the brand you're considering is recommended.
You'll also need an SD card reader
If you have an Android phone, you may also be able to use it by placing the SD in your phone, selecting Mount as USB Drive on your phone, and proceeding from there.
First, download the latest version of Nookie
Unzip the .gz file (Winrar, 7zip, etc. Should work for that) so that you have an .img file that you're working with.
If you're on a PC, you're going to want to get a program called Win32DiskImager.
If you're on a Mac or Linux machine, you'll want dd.
Connect the SD card to your computer.
For PC Users:
open Win32DiskImager, select (using the button with the dots) the image file for Nookie that you downloaded, then select the drive of your SD Card (be very careful you're choosing your SD Card drive and not another!), then choose Write Image. *After a few minutes, you're all done!
For Mac Users (instructions credit nookdevs.com)
Open a terminal window.
Find which drive the sd card is mapped to: type in the terminal this:
diskutil list
Be very careful to identify the SD card and not your hard disk. Be VERY careful.
Now unmount that drive typing this:
diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk#
(My computer is was disk2 replace # with your number.)
The computer should say:*Unmount of all volumes on disk was successful
dd if=NameOfNookieFroYoImage of=/dev/disk# bs=1m
Again, replace # with the number of your card. Everything needed should copy right over to the card.
RUNNING NOOKIE:
Simply insert your Nookie Froyo SD card into your nook and power on. As long as your SD card is in your NOOKcolor when you power it on or reboot, it will boot into Nookie Froyo. Everything that would normally be on an Android phone or tablet's internal memory (plus what would normally be on an SD card) is all going to be on your SD (this is why we recommended a card of 4GB or more).
One of the first things you'll notice is that there aren't any Google apps installed. You'll need to do this yourself (I would have loved to include them, but there are legalities, yadda yadda...).
ADB Installation of Google Apps:
1. You'll need to have adb (Android Debug Bridge) installed on your computer. This link explains in relatively easy terms how to get this going . . .http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502010
Basically, you'll want to install the Android SDK and become familiar with the location of the directory it was installed in.
If you want to make it easy, move the 'Tools' directory (inside the SDK directory) onto c:/ . . . (or whatever your main hard drive's letter is) then, to get there, you'll simply type cd c:/tools
2. Having installed the SDK for adb access to your nook, now download the google apps files, and unzip the file so that it extracts the folder called 'system' into the 'Tools' directory in the SDK folder you downloaded.
3. Now you'll open a command prompt in Windows (start menu>run>type 'cmd') and navigate to the correct folder (cd [folder directory's path]). On Mac, this would be done via Terminal.
4. Now, with your NOOKcolor connected to your computer's USB port, type the following (of course, hit enter after each line):
adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system
adb push [here, enter the path to your SDK tools folder]\system system/
adb reboot
5. Now your NC will reboot. When it boots, you'll have Market, Gmail, Google Maps, and many more Google apps.
* If you're getting a "device not found" error when running adb, first, reboot your Nook and your computer and see if it changes.
If that fails, download and unzip this file, open install.exe, and follow the on-screen prompts (this will install drivers so your computer will recognize the nook).
If that doesn't work, try opening the Super User app on your nook and then issuing the commands.
If that still doesn't work, refer to the steps in this thread, repeating if necessary.
One of the first things to do:
Before you start, one of the most important things to remember with the current version of nookie is to turn the screen off/on (do this each time you boot your nook). There's some serious touchscreen lag by default, and this is the very simple solution to make it go away. Nothing fancy, just put the screen to sleep for a sec, and when you turn it back on, it'll be plenty responsive.

Here is a comment a user posted regarding the 16gb SD cards
I bought a class 10 16GB from Wintek, a brand I've never heard of and not only was the card unbearably slow -- so massive lag a points, it ended up corrupting itself... Anyways, I put in a 16 GB class 4 Kingston I have and not only is it faster than the supposed class 10 -- rarely any lag, I've not had any problems.

It's Fat32. I'll try that solution posted above when I get home from class, but brian said he is working on an update that should work with all cards and it should be out today. What's weird is that I can even boot with a 10GB partition with 4gb unallocated space. IT's just once I get up in the 12-14gb partition size range when things start corrupting themselves. And again, what's weird is that this happens across different brand and class cards. They are not defective. I am convinced it has something to do with the too many cylinder error I get while running makepart.sh
We shall see!
Sorry guys kinda new to this. Is there a step by step for installing honeycomb internally? Thanks

Use the monster file thread link to build a 1 gig cwr boot disk with your sd. Drag and drop that file in the v4 emmc flashable.. Follow the instructions to boot from sd, wipe system, data (boot is optional, some say they do it without wiping boot, but I myself wiped) it will crash when wiping boot, just hold the power button and turn it back on. Then flash like any rom in cwr and when its finished take the sd out then select reboot... It will take you into honey comb... Check the threads for more help

I've got access to the market, apps seem to install fine, and all my old B&N stuff is still available. Frankly I prefer the free B&N Reader I downloaded from the market to what I had with the stock Nook. Even better, the kernal included in the package was already OC'd to 1.1Mhz, and I'm consistently getting 1,500 to 1,600 on Quadrant.
For me the total install was pretty smooth...just remember to follow instructions exactly.
FYI: The above link also includes instructions on installing to an SD card.

did u do anything special to get your market to run? I cannot get it to download anything and after I cleared the cache stuff, the market wont even open.
When I first installed HC, I had the dreaded "market problem".
I can't find the original post to give proper credit, but I followed the following steps which resolved the problem.
Go to Settings=>Applications=>Manage Applications and select Google Services Framework. Under Storage, press the "Clear Data" button, then "Force Stop".
Still in Settings=>Applications=>Manage Applications, select Market. Press the "Force Stop" button.
Then reboot and it should work...at least it did for me
not for me lol, just keep getting a error has occured try again later, thanks tho.
I strongly advise flashing the internal memory instead of using the SD. You can try the SD route once, but if it fails, don't waste your time. I've bought 4 different microSD cards just to try getting honeycomb working on NC. I read some of the recommendation in xda and purchased the cards with higher success rate. But after 4 days of fruitless efforts, I gave up today. Then I thought, what could go wrong, I don't use the Nook to read anyway, and went on to flashing the internal memory. Holy S*it. 10 minutes and I got honeycomb running.
I have somewhat reached a standstill in my NC endeavors, because I do want to continue using the device as an e-reader and keep the B&N in store features + stock apps that come with the Nook. I also really want to run Honeycomb from eMMC (class 4 sd card is cool for a bit but not really cutting it in terms of every day usability), as I am an android enthusiast, and this was one of the main reasons I bought the NC in the first place. Does anyone know if it's possible to do a dualboot of the two, without severely messing something up?
Another option I can imagine is having the stock Rom running from an SD card for B&N needs, if that is known to work any better. I'm hoping someone with more knowledge can add to my initial brainstorming of possibilities for this guy...
I had the same market problem. Then I flashed this zip through Clockwork Recovery and that seemed to fix things. Make sure and do the v003
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953603
Alright, so I'm 100% brand new to the Nook. Infact, I don't even have it yet, but I'm buying it tomorrow (3/3)
If I'm going to use honeycomb on it, do I just simply pop in the SD card and it's ready to go?
Do I need to root it before hand or is it already rooted?
How do I get GApps and Market running?
I honestly looked around a bit but I'm terribly confused. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Also, I can't even seem to get the IMG burned onto my microSD. Win32 Disk Imager keeps spitting back that the SD card doesn't have enough space, but it's an 8GB card with nothing on it, so it has plenty.
1) No, you don't have to root first - just pop in the uSD card and you are good to go.
2) To install Market and GApps you will have to install ADB on your primary machine first (which can be a PITA). There is all sorts of help around to do that. I downloaded a script (search for HoneyGapps.v2 here) that did the install for me in one step.
3) From what I understand the image is too large for Win32 Disk Imager. I used WinImage and it worked fine.
BTW - I am loving HC - I've adopted it completely. My major problem is that many apps are not showing up in the Market, even though they were installed and ran fine on my rooted 2.1 system. I think it is because the Market does not recognize the device name under HC 0.4.
How do I use WinImage to do that?
Sorry, but that program just confuses me, lol
First you use winImage and click disk then restore image. Make sure you have all files selted when looking for the file to restore. Are you going to install it to internal or on a USB card ?
Trying from SD card first unless it's too slow. If I want to install on internal, how do I backup my original Nook data?
Also, I figured out WinImage, I'm burning it now. I used another program, but that didn't do anything when I powered on the Nook. I shouldn't have to do -anything- before booting from the SD, right? The Nook is brand new, I popped in the SD card and it didn't work. We'll see what happens after WinImage burns it though
The SD version is kinda slow and if you look there is a Honeycomb EEMC V4 install that has the google apps and other goodies Installed. It has all you need already put in it. In the post you will find all the links and info needed to install. You just mount your nook like normal to your computer and copie the files from internal memory.

Haha, I had just started reading that a second ago actually. It lists a lot of problems. Are those problems present in the SD card version as well? Also, is Froyo more stable?
I have been running version 2 for a lil while and it runs smooth. I haven't had any real issues from it. I put it on my wife's nook also. It runs smooth and every app I have installed runs with no issues.
OK, I'm gonna try the script for GApps in a second. Where can I find the drivers for the Nook? I already have ADB installed, I've rooted 3 phones before this, so I got ADB usage down...
EDIT: Also, where can I find info on partitioning the SD card so I can still use it?
Honeycomb is built for tablets and sems more fluid. All are really development builds. We will all be waiting on the devs and google for the actual honeycomb
Which are you going to do the Sd or Internal ? If you load the version 2 internal it already has the Google apps included.
I haven't found a way to backup my original Nook data before installing it on internal. SD card works just fine, as long as I can find a way to partition it so I can still use it as an SD card. Either way, I still need the ADB drivers and the one thread I found so far has a broken link. Boo!
If you install it to internal you can then reformat the sd card and use it as normal.
OK, but then how do I back up the current internal memory and I still need a link to the ADB drivers in case I want to run off SD.
Use my USB mass storage utility (see dev). Make .tar files of internal data and system content.
To restore extract content back onto data and system.
Of course, if you get adb working, make dd images of partitions.. more conventionnal backup than above..

Alternatively, can't I just have someone send me their files?
Bump? Anyone?
EDIT: Also, how do I get ADB working if I do the internal HC?

All your questions in this thread can be answered by doing a little work searching around... you shouldn't expect a personal tutor...
If you put a little of your own effort, you will learn much more than following someone's instructions.
Thanks man, that was helpful. I definitely didn't use the search tool before.

See? You're learning already then.
What are the diference between super froyo and cyanogen and the rest of the android? I'm a noob and would like to install one of this to my kaiser.
Thanks
The "builds" you're asking about are just different versions of the same build.
The 29-8-11 build is version 2.2.2 Froyo, Super Froyo (IIRC) is build 2.2.1, and Cyanogenmods are just that, "mods" to an originally stock build, wether it be Froyo, Gingerbread, Eclair, etc.
I honestly can't say I hate or dislike any build or modded version, as they all have their benefits. The one great thing about Android is the ability to "make it your own" through customization, where-as iOS (iPhone) pretty much locks you into a certain form and functionality, which the benefit is stability.
My suggestion... grab the 29-8-11 build on sourceforge and build a kernel with 3-4mb above the total install size of 87mb, give yourself a 15-20mb cache file and install it. Customization comes with time, trial and error, and some effort, but you will be happy with the results.

Can you give me the sourceforge link.
I follow this :http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/androidhtc/wiki/HowToInstallWithAtoolsHaret
I partition using the atools but nothing happen.Receive an error message someting like ext2 ext3 and something missing.Get an error using the above.Maybe it's my bad.
This is the latest error
did you keep the D-Pad pressed ?
That is nothing to do with the D-pad, that is a fault of not installing the system to NAND, something I'm unfamiliar with as I never used or even liked HaReT.
It appears as if you're installing to SD, but the card is not formatted correctly with the 3 (maybe 4 now) partitions needed, one for system, another for data, and the rest for your use.
It should be easy peasy to install to NAND as ATools is really optimized for NAND installations now.
Now I made ext 2 & 3 to my sd card. 1st attempt took 6hrs and still installing files and now trying 2nd attempt.
I use atools and choose haret.once Linux running I choose ext 2 . I follow everything but android doesn't seems to run. Now under file folder there's only ext2 appear ext3 is missing . Have been trying to install few times but nothing happens. My card is 16gb class4.
Can I have the link for the latest froyo dated. 29.8.11.
First off, forget about keeping Windows Mobile and go straight to Android. I never liked running from a SD card.
Here's the link..
http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2011-08-29-froyo/
Select the correct build for your Country (eu, us or all), preferrably an "odexed" version, download it and copy it to your FAT32 formatted SD card in a folder labled "andboot" without the quotes.
If you check around, I have a post or 2 with the "KAISIMG.NBH" file attached. I always build a new kernel for any new installs as I like to make modifications depending on build size. The one I posted is for this build with a meager 500MHz overclock, 15mb for cache and around 92mb for data with an EXT4 FS.
If you use the 29-8 build, there is no need to update anything as the update modules are included.
How many partition do i need and how many mb do i need on each partition.I'm using 16 gb.
update: I make 1 fat32 and 3 ext2 with 200mb each using gparted.
where does the downloaded or installed apps goes to.Is it on the fat32 or the ext. what's the difference ext2, ext3,ext4.Can I reformat the sd card once my device is androided to add more mb to the ext. If my ext. not enough to install apps (if the apps need to be install to ext. not fat32)sorry for so many question.
Do I need 'bse'( *img -> Virtual disk on sdcard (you need to create it, you can create it with bse) to create virtual disk.?
First off, you're speaking in HaReT terms, a completely different language for me.
I only know how to install /system and /data to NAND, NOT an SD card. No 3 separate partitions on my SD, only 1 formatted to FAT32.
Again, you're running Android "through" Windows by clicking an .exe file in file explorer, not the way I'm running it, which just involves pressing the power button, so you are, in fact, speaking a different language.
Build a kernel with ATools for NAND, not HaReT, and leave everything alone when presented with where to install. /system goes on NAND, /data goes on NAND.
That is my recommendation because I'm all about speed, and a class 6 SD couldn't provide that. Think of NAND as class 10...
I follow this for Nand : http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/an... pls guide me on how to install through Nand.
Make sure you are using a FAT32 formatted SD card when attempting a kernel update. If you are sure it is formatted correctly, try another. I have 5 SD cards here, 2 of which won't work for kernel update, regardless of format.
If all else fails, look around for the RUU installer for the Kaiser.
Am i getting this right? i'm installing it to my device from yesterday night.
Edit:How long does it going to take 1 day? 1 week? now the number is [43617.514121]android_usb gadget:full speed config #1:android
I connected it on my pc and change to power supply. Is this normal?
Very simply, keep your phone away from any computers!
The only problem I see is the USB is connecting and disconnecting.
DO NOT keep the phone connected to the computer.
If you have followed all the instructions for a NAND install, this conversation would not take place... its THAT simple.
Reformat your SD card, out the KAISIMG.NBH directly on the SD, not inside any folders. Once thats done, make a new folder on the SD called "andboot" and place the androidinstall.tar file inside the new folder. If you're using a rom other than Scoot's or the SourceForge, you'll need an update for the cache.
Install takes less than 2 minutes with even the slowest SD card and first boot usually runs 3-5 minutes. ALL up and running, ready to use in less than 10 minutes.
@PoxFreak, at last i manage to install Android to my Kaiser HaRET way.I think i know what's the problem.I think it's due to my radio. I was using 1.71 and 1.70 it doesn't work. So i install shipped rom to my kaiser and install android .
@Poxfreak,
I manage to install CyanogenMod 6.1.2 Release 6 by using NAND.It took me .... like you say about 5 mins+.I was wondering I have 2 Kingston 4gb microsd card both can be use to install HaRET but only one of them can install NAND.So now I would like to use back my 16gb sd card as an external to install apps. Will I be able to do that instead of using the 4gb? Can I partition it?
Thanks
