[Urgent help] Best gadget available only in US

Hi all,
need suggestion on a best portable electronic gadget like tablets etc only available in US as my bro went for shopping today and asked me what i want.
I have nexus one, PSP, high end laptop....... so please suggest urgently what i can ask him to get me from US

htc evo 4g looks nice, segway robotic or explorer, urban fidelity planets or a ambient forecasting umbrella which uses wifi to download weather forcasts to your brolly!!!
Most things you can get in the US you can get in other parts of the world so it seems pointless as you do not get warranty. I just ordered myself a transparent toaster which i saw in the US but then ended up purchasing in the UK.

I would say an xbox 360 there pretty awesome. You have just about everything else i can think of...

Having run the SDK on my nook color, it is exciting to see on a device like this (to which i also own), but will say that the SDK really is lacking, and that we all need to get the AOSP code so we can relaly see what these devices can do. Hopefully with all the new HC devices getting launched soon, we will see the AOSP repository go up, and we can all have some Honey fun.

Are you serious? Why would you come to a Windows Phone 7 forum to request Android be ported to this device? What sense does that make when there are variants of 4.3" phones from HTC running android with pretty much the same specs. This is baffling. I hardly write much in these forums but this is just sick.

I'll tell you why. Because T-Mobile use had no other 4.3 phone in there choices. The only reason i got the HD7 was because someone stole my nicely rooted HD2 RUNNING ANDROID. Had the HD7 for almost 2 weeks and guess what its heading back to Tmobile along with a cancellation.

would be nice to have android and wp7 on this device i'm willing to throw some money in the pot anyone else?

First of all, there is no need for any hostility in my thread, I'm not a moderator or anything but i will not tolorate fanboys here. I've been a die hard fan of windows mobile ever since Tmobiles Dash came out.
All i'm saying is that i seen a couple of kids at work playing with droids and it looked cool. This is my baby, I love everything about it. I just want to do my thing

Thanks for supporting and visioning android development for the HD7 with me! Again... It was me who was willing to donate for the cause, In no way am i trying to collect funds for any development. It is MY choice to offer a donation and if you are choosing to go about the same way, then more power to us!
Have we gotten the attention of any developers yet?

maybe a post in the HD2 forums will help kick start development.
dont forget to stress the cash incentive.
i'm sure many will donate for the cause.

Theres a big sticky thread out there saying "Android on HD7, ask your questions here"

Why don't you just trade your phone for an HD2? That phone is exactly the same and you can flash anything on it.

Thread closed for 2 reasons:

Need help with esn add to metro

Like the title says. I need help in how to get my droid esn added to metros database. I have everything else done on the phone it gets metro at 611 .. I have the mms and net set and ready to with all files needed. I just can seem to find anyone around me that will add the esn. Please let me know of anyway I can. I called metro and they said no, and I took it to like 10 dealers and they all said no. Please help thanks.

what did the dealers say besides no? did they say why not?

Both of you: I asked around a lot last week and I was told to go to a Corporate store because they are the only ones who can get into that part of the database and edit it. Apparently it costs some money, idk how much.

Thanks for the replys so far, but I have done all of the above as in so far as to go to the corp store and dial 611 and 228 infront of them, and hello hello hello lol played and nope will not add the esn from the phone in person or at the dealers(any corp or private). The only guy I found here where I live wants 90 bucks to add the esn :{ any other ideas I have a eris running fully flashed and loaded but its not doing it for me any more. Ok thanks for any ideas.

Well I suggest that you keep looking on craigslist or something because that seems like your only option now... or just save up an buy the LG Esteem... $350 but well worth it... epic phone. Good luck man :/

Hi AtmosFEAR I could get one of the esteem but I just looked here real quick and I didn't even see a sub-forum for them :{ whats up with that ? I went into the corp store again tonight and I got someone who said if the phone is flashed they could do it so dial 611 and they here metro so he takes the phone and goes to scan the esn and nope. Not flashed by Houdini so no work. Now can I go and buy that program and flash them my self and will it just add the esn for me into metros database or ? Because I would like to flash the phones also for cheaper then the guy here and make money my self :}. Ok any insite thanks for help

I have the lg revolution which is basically the esteem twin. There is dec work on the esteem can't tell you exactly how much though. I know they have cwm and at least themes. Idk about a rom though I believe someone is working on cm7. I will ask around irc tonight and let you know.

Like he said just get the Esteem, it's worth it and xda will soon, along with other forums & developers have a CM7 Rom for it soon enough. It's also supposed to get Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) so it's a good bet, I'll be getting mine this weekend

If the esteem gets an official ICS and the Revo doesn't I will be heated. It's an awesome phone but it is basically the Revo twin and the Revo got eoled the other day...

well I checked it out and looks like a nice phone. I will be getting it in a week or less :} but untill then i would love to use the og droid for a while as the eris I have is just a slow beast :} and they added that esn at the corp store for 10 bucks ?? i don't get it lol
Now also does the esteem have root and all yet or what can we do with the phone out of the box as far as modding to to make it mine :}

Like I said ^^^^up there. Just come on over to the Revo IRC and you can talk to someone more knowledgable then me. mt is mtmichaelson and he is in there but not talking at the moment idk if he will be on at all tonight but he is on a lot so you might get a chance to talk to him about the ROM and kernels and such. Hope I helped

Depends on who you ask. Personally I will never get rid of my og droid I adore that phone. It popped my android/smart phone cherry and is just a brick of a device. Just will not die. I have dropped/thrown that phone so many times and it just comes back for more lol

Do you want to buy the og for a spare :} lol I know the first owner of this one it was a 35 year old girls phone so its clean and has a case

Lol. Nah. I just got this tablet so I'm broke lol. But the esteem has an irc aswell if you want to go there. It's just lgesteem and not lgrevolution fyi

I paid $60 for mine on Craigslist.. and yes the Esteem has root. I will be getting it soon enough lol

Has anyone tried this method of rooting the Turbo?

Just saw this and it looks like a work around to paying $20 but was curious if its legit?

I wouldn't touch it man. It's even more sketchy that there is a 5.0 rom underneath it when our device doesn't have one. I think this may be labeled turbo but intended for the international version. I'm no dev, but I would not touch this until someone tears apart the apk and gives the green light that it's not bs.

This is why developers stop or do not work on making LOCKED PHONES UNLOCKED OR ROOTED. PAY THE $20.00 that is cheap for what you are getting also the work and hours one puts into this. WOW this makes me so mad. This is why I walked away from XDA years ago when I made ROMs for eris,razer and other phones. There is users out there that still try to rip off the only ones willing to help you unlock or root your phone. WOW "I saved $20.0 " man oh man.

i have my omnia too. cracked screen, no battery, and beaten. cant wait for lollipop on it. that could be your best project yet, Adrynalyne!. ba ha ha ha. omnia- the iphone killer. i do miss the mouse pointer/track button, though.

Did you even bother looking at the website? He was curious about the legitimacy of the website, not whether it was worth $20 to root your device.
You know what makes me mad? When people jump to conclusions. This is why I rarely us XDA nowadays... so much emotion for a such a small thing.
