EB01 Bootanimations (Help) - Fascinate Themes and Apps

Has anyone been able to get custom bootanimation.zip(s) to work on EB01? If so, where do you put it? I've tried everywhere from Eclair locations and DL30 locations, but nothing.

You have to first have a kernel that supports custom animations. Such as the voodoo kernel jt has listed. Then u can just flash them by clockwork as usual. Sonofskywalker has some nice ones in rom manager

That makes since why it worked on Voodoo, and then stopped working when I disabled Voodoo....

I'm on suoerclean 2.2 nonvoodoo and there is no bootanimation by default, will any work?

Enabling and disabling voodoo will have no effect on the boot animation. You have something else going on there.

This is known behavior. Check the SC2.2 thread for more information on that. Flashing the voodoo kernel will give you the Galaxy S boot animation by default, any other can be flashed over that without issue.

I am using Super Clean 2.2 with jt's Voodoo kernel on top of that, and can confirm that the custom boot animations work just fine.

No voodoo = no animation. As of right now anyways.

you want the stock annoying sound ?
you can custom your boot up sound: make a wav file, name it PowerOn.wav, copy it to /etc folder.
I have a custom tried that it doesn't work apparently its a kernel issue

From what I understand if the kernel supports custom boot image then boot sound will not work. Could be wrong though.

It has to do with the ROM choice as well, I believe the boot sound is contained within the odex, so if the rom is deodexed, there will be no boot sound.
Who's rom/kernel supports boot audio in determined to have both ill figure it out

Roms

are there any roms that don't use the lag fix/voodoo lag fix and is based on the recent froyo release. I've searched there's cog 4 but it has voodoo.

so turn voodoo off....
You can just flash Cog 4, then after it boots, reboot into recovery and disable the lagfix.

awww somebody told me how to disable lagfix, is it universal for all roms?
Which method are you referring to? The disable-lagfix in the voodoo folder? That does work, but a sure-fire method is to:
Boot into clockwork recovery
Go to lagfix options
Disable lagfix
Reboot
In my ROM, all you'd have to do is:
Change the lagfix.conf to say rfs.
Not hit YES at first boot.

I will try to dig into a little more to see what is going on.
What Modem/Kernal are you using?
Wondering if this will work for me.
I am using AT&T 2.2 Froyo ROM with SuperCurio's KB1+Voodoo Kernel.
Would/Could this work on my phone?
This mod is based off the cognition 4.1.1 release from Design Gears. I have not done anything else with this.
I am running the supercurios KB1 kernal with voodoo and cwm and the stock modem right now. I honestly do not see any way in the code that the modem can be broken with the change I put in.

Ok. I flashed this again.
Really long initial boot and tons of force closes but no message popped up to tell me what exactly it was. After the media scanner stopped and I went into the task manager and cleared the ram it stopped vibrating over and over again. I'll try a reboot and see what happens.
*EDIT still no good. I'm still getting force closes when using data network but not over wifi.

That does not make any sense. upload your original services.jar file and I will compare it to the one i posted for download. Something has to be different.

Unless you have deodexed your rom it will not work. I also just found out that the services.jar file can change. The first file I posted was from my install and it did not work for CB650 Wolf but it worked fine for me. I just took the stock file from the cognition 4.1.1 download and applied the change to that one for the upload.
Thanks CB650 Wolf for help with this. Sorry it caused so many problems.

I've never heard of these changes breaking the modem. The problems he is describing are new to me as well.
The ROM has to be deodexed. So not it will not work on pure stock KB1.

I actually found out that it was a kernel problem, not a problem with this file. If with the Cog kernel if you reboot while charging you run the chance of your phone not registering the sim card once it al boots up.

[KERNEL] KB5 Stock + Voodoo lagfix [4/15/2011]

This is just stock KB5 kernel with Voodoo lagfix included. No voodoo sound since it's not a source code based kernel. I'm just fill in the gap so you guys won't have to wait for Supercurio.
There are two versions:
ODIN

CWM

Put it in your /sdcard then flash it from cwm as you normally do after you install your ROM. I usually boot your ROM first before flashing this one .. just to make sure that it works properly before flashing a new ROM.
I flashed this in hopes of better battery life. I wanna disable voodoo to see how the stock kernel runs. for some reason, I can't disable voodoo. I've done it from cwm recovery, and it says that next boot, it will be disabled....i even hear the girls voice saying it's converting partitions.
I check both voodoo control app as well as going back into cwm recovery, and it's still enabled.
Any suggestions on how to disable it?

Create a file called 'disable-lagfix' and put it in /sdcard/Voodoo directory, then reboot. That should disable voodoo.
