are there any roms that don't use the lag fix/voodoo lag fix and is based on the recent froyo release. I've searched there's cog 4 but it has voodoo.

so turn voodoo off....
You can just flash Cog 4, then after it boots, reboot into recovery and disable the lagfix.

Beat me to it by a matter of seconds!!

awww somebody told me how to disable lagfix, is it universal for all roms?
Which method are you referring to? The disable-lagfix in the voodoo folder? That does work, but a sure-fire method is to:
Boot into clockwork recovery
Go to lagfix options
Disable lagfix
Reboot
In my ROM, all you'd have to do is:
Change the lagfix.conf to say rfs.
Not hit YES at first boot.

Great work on serendipity by the way, I have to admit, it's pretty beast.

I'm on froyo right now and I'm having trouble getting voodoo to work and overclocking isn't working either so I just want to start back at 2.1, any help?

Take a hammer to your phone.
Only kidding. I'm going to assume many things here because you left out some info. You said you didn't have voodoo working. Can you verify that? Run a quadrant test. If its a low number, as in under 1000, voodoo is off and you can simply download the Odin one click for 2.1. You will have to search for it yourself.

Haha thanks man, and no when I try to install voodoo, it doesn't get past the recovery screen when its re booting
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
So if Voodoo isn't installing, just simply reflash back to stock (Odin One Click JF6) and attempt whatever you're doing all over again.
Works like a charm, thanks man

If voodoo is giving you trouble, you could try one of the i9000 ROMs with SetiroN's kernel.
Like the one in my sig.

whre did you find the downgrade page. can you post it up. i want to downgrade to 2.1
please post or send me a email to [email protected] i would be thankfull.
What lagfix was bundled with the latest Axura CE? Installed last night and wake up to a now nonexistent rom. Going back to my old rom and no idea which lagfix was used or how to disable it.
I'm not sure which one it is, but just get into recovery go to advanced ULK and disable lag fix from there. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the fast and accurate response.
It is a=e4. All ext4.
My recommendation to change to another rom would be to flash back to stock. That will get rid of any lagfix as well as start you off with a fresh slate. This will minimize any problems you have with the new rom.

Has anyone been able to get custom bootanimation.zip(s) to work on EB01? If so, where do you put it? I've tried everywhere from Eclair locations and DL30 locations, but nothing.
You have to first have a kernel that supports custom animations. Such as the voodoo kernel jt has listed. Then u can just flash them by clockwork as usual. Sonofskywalker has some nice ones in rom manager

Enabling and disabling voodoo will have no effect on the boot animation. You have something else going on there.

This is known behavior. Check the SC2.2 thread for more information on that. Flashing the voodoo kernel will give you the Galaxy S boot animation by default, any other can be flashed over that without issue.
I am using Super Clean 2.2 with jt's Voodoo kernel on top of that, and can confirm that the custom boot animations work just fine.
No voodoo = no animation. As of right now anyways.
This is just stock KB5 kernel with Voodoo lagfix included. No voodoo sound since it's not a source code based kernel. I'm just fill in the gap so you guys won't have to wait for Supercurio.
There are two versions:
ODIN
http://www.mediafire.com/file/1pagj8oq9orrff9/stock+Voodoo-Froyo-T959-UVKB5.tar
CWM
http://www.mediafire.com/file/66yqqvq2ct5f9i4/stock+Voodoo-Froyo-T959-UVKB5-unsigned-update.zip
Thanks Whitehawkx for providing the original zip file.
Enjoy!

Put it in your /sdcard then flash it from cwm as you normally do after you install your ROM. I usually boot your ROM first before flashing this one .. just to make sure that it works properly before flashing a new ROM.
I flashed this in hopes of better battery life. I wanna disable voodoo to see how the stock kernel runs. for some reason, I can't disable voodoo. I've done it from cwm recovery, and it says that next boot, it will be disabled....i even hear the girls voice saying it's converting partitions.
I check both voodoo control app as well as going back into cwm recovery, and it's still enabled.
Any suggestions on how to disable it?

Create a file called 'disable-lagfix' and put it in /sdcard/Voodoo directory, then reboot. That should disable voodoo.

Does it need to be in the Voodoo directory or root?
I used to have it @ root .....has it changed...its been a long time sine i did it ...especially ever since cwm has the capability.

Depends on wich Cognition you want if 4.x.x or 5.x Either way both have instructions on their Dev thread.

Well for Cog 5 you will need to flash GB bootloaders. BUT the 3 steps on the OP will work. There some risk when flashing bootloaders, but read up on how to use ODIN and they key combinations, nothing to it =)
I dont know...i looked back on the dev page but i cant download anything since i dont have unknown sources. Ill dig around for a video or something.

I would suggest Flashing Cognition 4.5.3. Its a Froyo based rom but its alot easier to get running runs great easily OC/UV to 1.2ghz I've gotten my phone to 1.4ghz stable (that may vary on your phone)

If its stock, then its just getting CWM on that phone and flashing it. To get CWM theres a few ways to do that, simplest would be get a 1 click root from dev (AIO toolkit is very useful) and install Rom Manager from the market install CWM. Move the Cog zip file to your phones Internal SD reboot in recovery (Rom manager has the feature to do that) and flash from SD, look for the cog file.
