I have 2 questions. I've searched for answers but theyre kinda not clear. Keep in mind, I flashed Froyo to my emmc, im not on the bootable sd.
1. I downloaded this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925451 (let me know if this is the wrong one) but the directions seem to be for the sd image of froyo not the emmc. How do I install it?
2. How do I get Gapps on it? (preferably without adb). I was told there was a flashable zip but when I tried it, it deleted everything and gave me the android with the exclamation in the triangle.
Does nobody really know?
There is a link in the thread i would copy and paste i have them on my card

I've asked some of these questions in other threads but they go unnoticed and unanswered. Here's the situation. I made the jump from rooted stock to flashing the Nookie Froyo rom with CWM. It's not on an SD card. Now I've got these problems and questions. All help would be really really appreciated.
1. I've tried a flashable Gapps but it just gives me the triangle with exclamation. How can I get the Gapps? I've tried individual installs but they don't work.
2. I cannot get ADB to work, that's kinda why I needed flashable Gapps. I've done the drivers and SDK install but I can't run ADB. I've done this for Evo and Dinc so I do know how to do it, it's just not taking.
3. I downloaded this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925451. It says paste it into the /boot directory. I'm assuming thats if it's booting off of an SD card and not Emmc. Can I just flash this kernel or will I need a different one?

There are different kernel downloads and instructions in that thread for Froyo on a SD card or eMMC. Make sure to download and follow the directions for the eMMC version. Pretty sure the eMMC version is CWM flashable.

You wouldn't happen to have a link would you? Call me crazy but I think theres like 10 of them lol and at least the last one didn't clarify for which one. Either way, thanks man.
I'm currently running phiremod nook V3 found here(followed the instructions too):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954902
I'm trying to get the OC kernal installed but can't get adb to recognize my nook. I'm guessing this might have to do with me not hooking my nook up to install the correct drivers.
Can I use this guide to get my internal partition back to stock software?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699&highlight=adb
Thanks for helping a NC noob out.
Does your Nook boot at all? Or does it just stay on a black screen?

Go there for help.
Thanks for the quick responses. Im currently still running phiremod. No problems with it yet. Just flashed the app fix.
I more curious if I went by those steps I mentioned above if I could get back to stock.

Yes, they would work, burning an SD card, and copying the 1.0.1 (or whichever version you want to restore to) zip file to the SD card, and flashing that.
As for the OC kernel, Dalingrin has a .zip file that you flash from Clockwork just like how you installed phiremod. You'd want the one that is for CM7.

So I was looking at the right thing. D'OH!
So from my reformatted SD card I'll download this to root of SD with CWR
-Froyo and CM7 Only
DOWNLOADS:
eMMC:
Froyo and CM7 (eMMC installations only) CWM update: http://www.multiupload.com/IJK50K41GG
Power NC on
Install from SD
Select file and install
Remove SD
Reboot?
EDIT: Do I unzip that file or leave it as is?
Many thanks.
Do not unzip. Copy that zip onto your SD card that has CWM burned to it. The actual process of flashing it takes only a few seconds, not as long as flashing the whole ROM takes.
Got it! Thanks again for clearing things up for me. Things are a little different than my dx.

I have put the HC v4 image on my SD card using the link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936995
I would like to have google apps (including market) as well but I don't know how to do this (i'm very new so need detailed instructions).
I have another SD card that has Phiremod and HC dualboot and that DOES have market (found those instructions here)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045018
I want to have JUST HC on my SD with Market on it.
How do I do this?

Do you mean this little piece right here:
"Update 3/28 : HCv4 2nd Edition SDcard:
http://www.multiupload.com/GJ3YFAP8D1
MD5 - 7d615cda41fe0a17758b0bd64fd2ea99"
Will this be an image file I can simply write to my SD?

Unfortunately no. But if you already have an sdcard wit a rom oñ it with the correct partitions. Just flash my dualboot_cwm_1.0.zip. then follow directions in OP.

thanks for being so speedy!
Unfortunately I get completely lost in your original post. Your Phiremod/HC dualboot instructions were simple enough even for me to understand
Unless its an image file I can write to my SD, i find myself lost.......
No problem though, i will just continue messing about with phiremod and hc.
thanks again for your help
I think the internal SD card of my i9000 is corrupted. I've tried everyting: wiped/factory reset, reinstalling Cyanogenmod10, installing Stock ROM, installing stockrom with re-partitioning on etc. Nothing works. I'm using odin to reinstall the stock ROM. Flashing the stock ROM to my phone goes well, but then when I restart and android is installing, I get error messages like:
/can't mount sd card
After reading a lot on XDA, my conclusion is: broken internal storage.
Now I want to install everything on my external SD. So I bought a 8GB cat10 SD card.
Found this XDA-post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1893354 Seems very promising, but I seem to get stuck on '-- Extract initramfs from zImage ( https://github.com/mistadman/Extract-Kernel-Initramfs )'. I;ve got a virtual machine running Ubuntu. When I start the script, nothing happens..... the terminal just closes.
The easiest solution for my problem would be a ROM that is altered to directly install on my external SD. I red somewhere that ROMS like that exist. Can't seem to find one though.
Well.. thanks for reading my post, and accept my appologies for my bad english. You can probably notice I'm not a native speaker.
Does someone have a solution for me? Maybe know of a good thread?
Thanks in advance!
Greatings, Eldoro
also formatted my internal sd through adb...doesnt help either
You need to search for a data/data file that you can flash in Odin that will fix your internal SD card. I had same problem. My Android soultions helped me. Try searching for that also

Tried that already... didn't work. That method only works if your sd card is totally dead. The phone then automaticly switches to the external sd
My isn't totally dead..

Install stock rom JVU in ODIN, then flash this kernel
How do I have to flash? With repartitioning checked or unchecked?
Do I have tot restart and let android try to install after flashing? Or must I flash your kernel directly after flashing the rom...

first of all apologize for asking a question and not answer your question, when you were CM10 and came back to a stock rom had to do some special way or just did you use odin? in my case I had installed CM 10 and accidentally format the internal sd through cwm now my cel just go to recovery and download mode.
excuse my English, English is not my native language, I use a translator
Thank you rxxxni, flashing the sdcard fix worked. My internal sd card had been stuck in read only mode and it took more than a week to find a fix.

This works for my SGS I test almost everything but the internal sd always returned all the data even before a wipe format re-partition noting work to delete the internal sd, wit this kernel the phone will create 2 partitions 1 fat and 2 ext4 wit the same size of the internal sd 1.89GB.
I will like to install a new version for 4.0 or 4.1 but dont know how to change this kernel to work wit another 2.3.6 like jw4 or jw9
if anyone know pleas let mi know
Thanks rxxxni.:good:
So I'm a noob for asking this but I lost my backup under a lot of content and need a backup (CWM not TWRP) to restore everything.
On a sidenote has anyone found how to boot stock from an SD card? I might work on a build of unofficial hybrid UNDECIDED (don't want offend any ROM makers who put a lot of time and effort into ROMS) and then onto stock on an SD card.
Notice-I'm a noob so I might need to ask some more questions to get the builds done.
Edit:Can the NPK file from BN be used to restore or do I have to compile myself?

You can use that npk to restore to stock. Just rename it to zip so that cwm knows what to do with it.
