Phone stuck on rom boot screen - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. So I've tried flashing two different roms (here and here) but when I boot both from recovery and normally, it doesn't get past the rom-specific boot screen. I'm using the RA-heroc-v1.5.2 recovery image if that's relevant. Thanks!

Wrong forum, but did you wipe cache/data and dalvik?

Sorry about the wrong forum. But yes, that worked perfectly! Thanks for the help

facepalm, well i guess i have a free post to say...facepalm.

How can these people post in the Dev forums... didn't XDA set some rules where you could post to the Dev forums unless you had some n number of posts under your belt? Huh!

FAIL!!

Epic failure on all counts, I know. What can I say? I wasn't paying attention when I made the post, and I'm relatively new to rooting/roms/etc. You have my apologies.

Also afaik the current release does not have the orientation fix

I get your joke lol anyway it will run on the Captivate but without any changes to the Kernel it has some wrong settings like orientation and stuff. Also in general it's quite buggy and does not have all features working. The Devs working on it have made GREAT Progress but they only released this "test build" because someone built it from their source and released it before it was meant to be released.

To answer your question it does work. Turn auto rotate off unless you want everything in landscape, use the speaker to listen to the phone, and set the notification ring tones to come through the speaker-just like with any other other I9000 rom whose kernel has not been reoriented for the Captivate. You also may need an external SD card for applications to function. On earlier versions this was a necessity but it may be different on the newer builds. You previously could not save anything to the internal SD card.
I installed it and got everything working using the JK4 modem, but I'm just using the stock kernel right now so Home and Search buttons don't work. Anyone who's reoriented the cm7 kernel mind posting it or pming me a link? Thanks.
I reoriented a kernel but I haven't compiled it yet. #cm7oncappy on freenide for more info

Making the Unlocked Symbol go away on bootup..

YES.. AFTER UNLOCKING AN ATRIX YOU CAN NOW MAKE IT WHERE IT WILL NOT SHOW UNLOCKED ON BOOTUP.... Instructions below...
After receiving my warranty phone I was desperate to make it not show the unlocked symbol where they would see it.. so what I did is research first.. I had remembered a team called M3 here while back make a bunch of unlocked stock SBF files. I specifically downloaded the newest Gingerbread SBF file. I then rooted and flashed Alien #4 on it as well. Well need to say the least my digitizer went out. Don't really know how that worked but anyways I called AT&T and got it under warranty then I realized OH SH*% I have it unlocked. so what I did is I went and grabbed a STOCK NON UNLOCKED SBF GINGERBREAD file and flashed it. THEN WALLLA it was gone and back to stock.. NOW HOW DID THIS WORK? How did it bypass the fuse from the boot loader WHY did it not brick the phone.. My thinking's is that it is still unlocked but just using a locked boot loader software. hmm maybe someone here can find that out.. I was just doing anything I could to make it not show that symbol so needless to say I was a brave mother F'er So I would be COMPLETELY enthused to how this worked and how it still loaded the phone..
Umm, this information has already been known. Also, you shouldnt be using SBF anymore.
I have never seen a post about this.. if you know about this somewhere please show me so I can delete this thread if it is not necessary..
I have seen this same thing happen before while just using an sbf on my phone, but the unlocked symbol usually came back after the next restart... I would restart a couple times before getting too excited

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871
@mramirezusa also confirmed in the OP of his thread that you could RSD the sbf.
* CONFIRMED, IS SAFE TO RSD THIS SPECIFIC SBF FROM MOTOROLA:

SHA1: e00786e975b4f1d9fba2ff90c1ee6bbf95bb47b2
SO NOW ON FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER USERS THIS CAN BE A BASE IF SOMETHING GO WRONG AND YOU NEED OUT OF THE BOX STATE FROM MOTOROLA
Need to be flash with RSDlite V5.3.1

Where is there a thread with a how to unlock your bootloader not using SBF files?
I think you HAVE to use the "Pudding" sbf to unlock.

I just don't understand how this was not a popular topic in the very beginning when the Atrix first came out. CM 10.2 No Service

I downloaded the Aug 28th Build of CM 10.2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423277 but can not post there yet. Reading that thread shows where the early 26th build has no data or voice service but was fixed later that day. I just flashed the newest build and have no service. My baseband, network, mobile network, IMEI all say unknown. The rom runs great other than that. Can someone please help me.

If you don't know how to flash the boot.IMG then maybe you shouldn't be trying to flash roms. I sujest you Google how to do it or read through the forum thoroughly before attempting anything else

If you want to dual boot you need Safestrap 3 and both ROMs must use the same kernel, such as Batakang and stock. You cannot dual boot with CWM.
99% of ROMs that can be dual booted are now dead for the most part. None of the new ROMs like Carbon, PAC, Probam, CM, and whatever other complete ROMs we have can be dual booted, which is what skeevy was saying.

Luckily I saved a copy in the cloud.. I'll post a link but keep in mind this is just a copy of what was out there already. I have had nothing to do with the dev of this ROM so please don't give me any credit for it.

Thanks to @t3build here is the 1-16 build https://app.box.com/s/7u6oh6gpvpqg54lnjxcb
Here is a 1/24 build. This should boot, but make sure you back up your old rom just in case. If it doesn't boot, then turn your phone off my holding the power button. Then hold both the power and volume buttons down until the LG Logo flashes, then let go and press both again until you see the factory reset screen. Once you are there, press the power button 3 times and it will take you to your recovery. Cheers

I am a college student in my last year of classes, and the workload is pretty heavy even at the start of the semester.
I messaged the mod asking for the thread to be deleted because I didn't want to cause Carbon any bad names because my build wasn't booting.
Long story short I will still be supporting Carbon for the vs980 until the official builds come out. Be looking for that in the next couple of days, possibly even tonight if I can find time.
Thanks for your understanding.

Looks like the thread for the carbon ROM for the Verizon lg g2 was deleted..
Luckily I saved a copy in the cloud.. I'll post a link but keep in mind this is just a copy of what was out there already. I have had nothing to do with the dev of this ROM so please don't give me any credit for it.
Here is a link to my box folder with the ROM and gaps
https://app.box.com/s/7u6oh6gpvpqg54lnjxcb
I also put a 'copy of a flashible lg remote in there...

I'm a big fan of your ROM as a college student as well I understand school is most important. I tried to find a substitute for your ROM and slimkat was the closest I could find. Hope you can work on it again but if not I understand.
