Anyone having problems with your phone rebooting when using bluetooth? Just about every time I use bluetooth (ie: wifi-tether using bluetooth, bluetooth heart rate monitor, or once even just pairing devices in settings), the phone will reset itself, usually after 10-30 mins of usage.
It's happened over the past few months, between a few different roms (CM6 and now CM7), several wipes and a radio upgrade (currently 2.32.40.11.09).
I tried grabbing a logcat of the error, but it doesn't look like anything is logged. Any ideas?

I am currently running Perception 10.2 and the Firebird 2.3 kernel with the I9000UGK4 modem.
My Bluetooth connects to my Ford Sync in my truck but disconnects the phone part of the connection after a minute and only keeps the music side. It also automatically starts the music player every time.
This is a new problem for me. Previously the WiFi seemed to have an issue and when I drove away from my house and lost the WiFi signal the Bluetooth would disconnect also. That was on Cognition. I could prevent that by turning off the WiFi before starting the truck.
My understanding is the I9000 modems sometimes have issues with Bluetooth static vs. HSUPA? I need the Bluetooth more than the data speed.
I ran the Firebird 2 kernel and Cognition 3 and the bluetooth static was so bad I couldn't use it at all.
Are there any Sync users running a similar setup that they like and that works with the Bluetooth?
Should I just flash a different modem or try a different kernel? My suspicion is its the I9000 based kernels but most of the custom kernels seem to be based on the I9000.
I use ford sync. I am using jk4 modem. I am not on perception and I am not using firebird. I have no issues with connection. So, if it means anything it is not the modem. I have been on jpy roms without bluetooth issues, and I am currently on andromeda which is an armani port. No issues.
Maybe try a different kernel although I am unsure why that would make a difference. I would suggest hardcores.
I had these issues when I was on stock 2.1. Sometimes it even used to reboot my phone.
I am Maxima SYNC by the way, but both should be similar. Now I am 2.2.1 based ROMs and able to talk on phone properly.
Something u could try:
1. Delete all bluetooth profiles from ur phone.
2. Delete the phone profile from ur car.
3. Restart ur phone and connect it fresh.
This resolved the issue I once had when on a 2.2 ROM.
Cool. I will try the complete Bluetooth deletes ( I have done them but not both during the same flash or re-pare ) and if that doesn't work I will try the ROMs you both are running to see if that helps.
Thanks for the help.
OK. So just in case someone else has this issue and uses the search function.....
Turn off the Bluetooth audio input selection under the media input area of Sync before trying to pair your phone.
It works fine to go back and select Bluetooth audio after you have started and paired for a bit, but if Bluetooth audio in is selected when you first start your vehicle it will kick off the phone part and only keep the music player connected.
It also automatically opens the music player on the phone and starts playing the last track. Which I would imagine will effect battery life if you have your phone in your pocket and don't notice it.
Not sure if this was happening with other Kernels and ROMs as I only noticed it with this one.
I've never had a problem with any rom not being able to play through bluetooth media on my gf's focus. If you go to the bluetooth options on your phone, hold your finger down the sync connection you can select phone, media and connect. Select phone and media if you want both to be available.
Go to the menu for sync in your truck, I think it's under player settings or something similar, but there's an option for autoplay on or off. Obviously, if it's set to off it won't automatically play your music.
Right now I'm on Serendipity 4.1, Firebird 2 kernel and jl2 modem with no problems. I've also used Cognition roms, and Perception roms, never had any of the problems you're experiencing.
I had a Sync-enabled rental car last week, and noticed it wouldn't stay connected if say for instance I left the car with the phone and still had BT enabled, then came back to the car and tried to just let it auto rejoin. I found everything went smooth if I disabled BT when leaving the car, and reenabled coming back.

It has to be set to your phone as primary to auto connect.
I have had Ford Sync disconnect problem ever since I got captivate in November. Bluetooth randomly disconnects. Both cog 2.3b6 and 2.3b8 gave me problem, although 2.3b8 works better overall. I didn't try latest cognition roms yet.... I have a tasker that turns off wifi automatically when bluetooth is connected -- it improves things, but still I get disconnects every now and then.
I really hope to find a permanent solution to this. This is the most annoying problem with my phone right now....
I had serious disconnect issues too until I did something similar to what someone else already posted.
1. On phone, unpair Sync
2. In Sync, perform master reset (system settings>advanced>master reset) NOTE: This will lose all of your settings
3. Reboot phone
4. Pair phone and Sync. Allow Sync to download phonebook. (If this disconnects, restart at step 1)
5. I always disable automatic downloading of the phonebook and autoplay of bluetooth audio.
Once I get a successful phonebook download with no disconnect, I will not have any more issues with bluetooth.
I am having a heck of a time with this watch. I did receive the new firmware today and had high hopes but it did not fix my problem of frequent Bluetooth disconnects. In the last 5 hours my watch has disconnected from Bluetooth approximately 6 times. When it disconnects, it is usually offline for about 5 seconds and then connects again. This occurs seemingly at random but it almost always occurs shortly after getting in my car and connecting my car to bluetooth. My phone is the HTC One m9.
Sorry i use your thread.. How urbane can connect phone and tablet? I can use one connection
and if i want new connection, must do factory reset...?

sounds like the android wear app or google play services malfunctions try doing a factory reset on the watch it should fix it
This phone (stock, non rooted) was working with BT fine under 5.01and Kit Kat before it for mostly calls. I know it is the phone because I have tested it now in three different cars, my 2014 Prius, a new Chrysler and Ford. It exhibits the same behavior. Pairing is not a problem. If the screen in on when I enter the car the connection is made. When the screen dims (sleeps) the connection drops shortly thereafter. If I swipe and get the screen back on I can manually re-connect through the car's radio. If I enter the car with the phone in my holster, likely asleep, it will not connect.
Keeping the screen from sleeping appears to "remedy" this issue but that is hardly an option in terms of battery life. Normally I keep the phone in a holster and never had this issue. I have tried every remedy on the Internet. I am using safe lock and have the radio as a trusted device. I have removed safe lock and the same issue ensues. I have unpaired, cleared cache, re-paired etc.
last night I hooked up the phone to my Garmin Nuvi via BT. No disconnect issues.
Any suggestions on further troubleshooting? Any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..
Work around found
I found an app called Bluetooth keepalive. It appears to have solved my problem for now. Since installing it the connection has not disconnected. The app uses very little battery power

what kind of car do you have? you might wanna look into updating software in your car or at least try it with another phone (preferably the same) just to rule it out
I previously owned a Sony Z3v and had no complaints. I run and workout regularly so I often use bluetooth headphones while doing so. These in particular http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/backbeat-fit. I'm been having issues since day 1 with these disconnecting. I have to power them down and power them up again to reconnect. Even when they lose connection, they show they are connected but are non responsive. I had not trouble whatsoever with my sony experia.
Anyone else having these kind of issues? I've checked the forums and I don't see any reports. Is this isolated?
I only use Bluetooth when I'm in the shower with the beats pill but it works great for me.

Not entirely related but I have had issues with my original Galaxy Gear disconnecting somewhat frequently when I disconnect my BT head unit or at other seemingly random times that sometimes require me to turn BT off and on again. It's not that huge of an issue usually but BT on my S6 is not perfect for sure.

I am having Bluetooth disconnect issues with my car. Will connect and disconnect repeatedly for about 7 minutes and then stay connected. Very annoying. Have tried several fixes but nothing has worked.
I haven't had an issue with mine when using it for my gopro.
The issue is with Android using Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi simultaneously. I've had these issues since owning the phone. For whatever reason if you connect your phone to a bluetooth speaker where both devices are BT 4.0, the WiFi will be extremely slow or not work at all.
If you don't believe me, try it. As soon as you connect the device, try to load something like a video or song over WiFi. Or even send a Facebook message. It'll stall. As soon as it stalls, turn off WiFi and it'll magically start working again over cellular data.
No issues here, usually stream to a Bose Color Sound device, getting connection through WiFi
I have issues with mine pretty regularly with my car. A reboot of the phone will sometimes fix it. It's annoying, sometimes it will disconnect from audio but not phone or vice versa. Or it will work perfect, I'll get a phone call and it all goes to crap. The remainder of the drive will generally result in fighting with it. Maybe it will reconnect, but most of the time it won't. Never have I had a phone with so many bluetooth issues.
Had issues with my truck head unit / phone BT. Phone would continually disconnect.
Tracked it down to the Messages transferring to head unit.
If I disabled Messages in the Bluetooth / Allow Access To area, it worked fine, but obviously messages wouldn't go to my truck.
I cleaned all messaging apps, factory reset truck head unit, no fix. eventually factory reset the phone, havn't had any problems since.

Stopped working again.
I've read extensively on the problems the RP2 has with various bluetooth devices. I'm having issues with getting bluetooth to function properly with my wife's van (Chrysler Pacifica). I've experimented trying many different things, but am still coming up short. The phone will pair perfectly the first time, and I can play audio through a phone call, Spotify, Poweramp, Google Maps, etc. Everything works perfectly as expected. If I simply toggle bluetooth off/on or reboot the phone, it will seem to reconnect, but within 2-3 seconds, it disconnects, and I get a com.bluetooth has stopped responding error. It will repeat this same error every time I try to reconnect. My first thought was that it was the dreaded two bluetooth overlays on the vendor partition, but I've tried repeating this process with the overlays deleted, too. I get the same results. Something else is getting in the way of proper bluetooth functionality other than those overlays, but I haven't the faintest idea where to look next. Any ideas?
Edit: Figured it out. Uconnect doesn't support AVRCP higher than 1.3.
