rafpigna 1.7 OC includes the calibration fix, flashable via CWR here.
To calibrate the g sensor, put it face down just over the edge of a table so you can still press the calibrate and ok button.
Then it will be good.
Thank you very much because its works

You can actually use any of the rafpigna kernels. You then donĀ“t need to place you hd2 face down.

This is a great question as I ran into the same exact problem. My issue started after I downloaded the "de Blob" game which allows you to "calibrate" the sensor based on the orientation of how you want to hold the phone during accelerometer based play. After doing so my auto rotate would turn at awkward times and I found that other games didn't respond appropriately. I tried going back and "re-calibrating" by laying the phone flat but that didn't work. What ended up working for me (as I could not find for the LIFE of me where the "calibrate" feature was in the settings) the "Bubble" app which is basically a level app that tells you if a surface is level. Once I calibrated in the Bubble app, I no longer had the issue. Needles to say I no longer use the accelerometer to play "de Blob" and have emailed him to let him know of the issue. (I haven't gotten a response) Hope this helps. I will be looking forward to other ideas on how to re-calbrate the sensor in case this happens again. I'm sure there is a easier way.
yea i tried the bubble app out and now my gsensor is not working at all no matter what direction i put it in the gsensor does not respond
Really? Sorry man. Worked for me. You may need to start from scratch by wiping your phone and reflashing your ROM
The same problem
Hi are you have some solution. My G-sensor didn't respond too.

They recommend you to mahe "8" signs with your phone in hand (twist it in all direction) because the sensor recalibrates that way. This is othe official advice.
Calibrating with the bubble app should work too. If not - alt+w
I have got the G-Sensor.
From Recovery
backup
Alt+W - delete all
and update to CM last stable
No joke, try shaking your g1 around kind of hard, it might be stuck. Reset it again after that and see what happens, worth a shot.
may sound daft, but have you tried this solution?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4424396&#post4424396
it is a quick fix for auto rotate issues, not a permanent solution, but it may help as auto rotate is accellerometer based, as are all the apps you're trying to use
if it works, thanks go to MikeTaylor00, not me, i'm merely a messenger

hey senaia, is this a proven method? Thanks =)
I have made a previous thread long time ago.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038598
Finally i have found what makes my screen blank during calls on any gingerbread custom or stock.
Its my faulty proximity sensor.
I used many device tests and they say naturally that my sensor is dead.
Strangely in froyo it works.
I dont care if it is software of hardware,i want you to tell me a way to turn that DAMN thing off as it is driving me crazy.
I have used ALL the apps on market, proximity off, sanity etc,i have bought all but no luck.
Can the app Tasker help me?
PLEASE!!! help me!!! i beg you people.
EDIT
and as i have suspected,if i use my handsfree (they say they turn off the proximity sensor),well everything works super fine....
come on guys...many people have the same issues, you are the gurus.help!
no one???? wtf

I guess you will have to downgrade to FROYO and stay there

that is ridiculous! with hands free the phone works perfectly.
in htc with the same problem they have found a way to disable it through hex editor.
it must not be that hard for a programmer
with root explorer and a hex editor.
wtf??? im in xda
edit
look how many people have this problem
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15291
there must be a solution for us too.
I have the same problem. All stock and custom roms gives me this error. I was finally able to turn off the proximity sensor with the latest MIUI Rom.
A fix would be great thou.
If it works fine in Froyo I would say it is software. Have you tried CM7? you might be luckier.
It should be easy for a kernel dev (not me sorry) to disable it. It would be a matter of not compiling the sensor's driver in the kernel so it will never get loaded.
Maybe if you ask one of the kernel devs how to compile a working Kernel and disabled the driver they might do it for you.
If you are using a stock firmware then probably cf-root with proximity sensor hack would be the best option.
K.
EDIT: I had a look at the kernel menu and indeed the GP2A sensor is there and seems easy to not include. The bad news is that it looks like the light and proximity are the same hardware (or at least driver) so if you disable one I am sure you will loose the other one.
This is the name as it appears in the kernel menuconfig "GP2A ambient light and proximity input device". Please note that I never compiled an Android kernel (but will soon for fun) and my knowledge is quite limited.
Just upgraded my LG P990 ( Optimus 2 X ) from Froyo to Gingerbread 2.3.4.
Everything is fine and same as before.
However the performance is much faster, especially when downloading using Wifi, MMS, sending files by BT and file transfer of photos etc.
To save the ON/OFF button, I have been trying to make the phone screen ON using the proximity sensor. But no success, before and after the upgrade.
( The senor works fine when tested with a sensor test application.)
I tried a few applications, but they do not work, although on the HTC desire
they work just fine. I can wake up the phone with a hand wave over the
prox sensor on the HTC desire.
Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.
No suggestion unfortunately.
But I'm not sure if you really want the sensor to be switched on all the time - this will consume more battery in standby.
Why not unlock with a shake? That would be cool.

That would just mean the accelerometer would have to be on all the time. Wastes battery.

+1 on this
But i could be happy just with unlock phone with volume keys =(
Hello, and please, if there is another thread about this problem that i didn't fine, excuse me!
my question is simple:
is there any ROM (2.3.x - gingerbread) in that the led of soft keys is working well and it does not shut down after a few seconds? if yes...please tell me wich one.
as i can remember, in Froyo the light from the 4 soft keys stayed on all time the screen was unlocked ... correct?
i would really like that someone give me a sulution. i have seen a MIUI video in wich, unfortunately the lights are killed as well after a few secs....
thanks in advance.

I prefer not to, if you want better battery life.
You can ask the developers in this thread about the leds.
Sent from the Sun.
@Zakys
Thats Bogus. These LEDs (more like SMDs) need close to nothing. Maybe your Phone will last 1 minute longer with the lights out.
@dookoo
its a Bug. LG already acknowlegded it in the german support forum. They are working on a fix to get them working again (like under 2.2). Knowing LG that can take quite some time.

But the latest LG phones does the same. Perhaps it's not a bug. Anyway, what's bogus??

there is core modification solving this problem
@juqe
Care to share your knowledge?
@ Zakyz
Then all the other Phones are defect . I contacted the LG support myself and they said it is a Bug to be solved.
Try to google Bogus. Its english.

Does anyone know what is the compatibility trick behind Huawei P30 Pro fingerprint sensor?
I have got issues with mine. After screen replacement it worked fine, until the microphone stopped working at the bottom board. So i went for a new one.And there the fingerprint issue started.I cant enroll a fingerprint.
I went for another board, new sensors, new main flex.It simply does not work, recognizes it,but does not work.Calibration tools and softwares did neither work.Tried to update/reset,also unsuccessfull. Actually it worked perfectly once, read the fingerprint perfectly, but after restart did not work again.
So,i am stuck... I know in the past i have replaced screens and sensors on P30 and P30 Pro without similar issues.
Is there an trick or must i bring it to Huawei centre to pair the hardware?
Hi,
Did you find a solution for this issue yet? I'm about to replace the fingerprint sensor, but cannot find how I can calibrate the fingerprint sensor afterwards. There seems to be some software app by Huawei which can start the calibration proces but it's nowhere to be found.
Anyone?

Hi
I got issues on my fingerprint sensor after replacing my screen, and all i needed to do was reflashing original rom.
It works perfect after.

Great for you, i will try that for sure in the near future, but can you please explain what do you mean by original rom? The one that was first on the phone when was sold? Or you used emui 12?

Well, i was waiting to get answer from joaofbc but no answer, i didn't try anything on my own, i use phone daily and didn't want to mess it, but face recognition is working fine so i don't care about fingerprint that much.
