HELP!!!!

I locked myself out of my phone, its a long story. Is there anyway to bypass the initial password to access windows. Even if its a software flash is there anyone who has liks or information on how to fix this
im sure you can just do a hard reset.
Yep, as Hagi37 states, hard resetting will work just fine.

Options for a lg970 that is locked by trying too many attemps?

My friend this morning brought me an lg970 that he just locked by too many attemps. What are the options to at least make a factory reset since the phone doesnt aloud an option to enter recovery console.
Pls be more precise, what did he attempt? SIM-LOCK? PIN code? root attempts? see what I mean? The information given is just to little... If you can still open a dialpad, just type in 3845#*970# and do a factory reset from there.
Nevermind m8, but thanks! It was too many pattern attemps but i already solved that. I used the unbrick method and it worked like a charm. I didnt read the thread before posting that question because i thought it was a way to unbrick. But now i realize that the LG970 does not have something like factory recovery. If something like that happens it needs to be flashed to fix it unless its rooted with CWM installed.

How to install PURE-ROM

Ok so I just soft-bricked my phone and restored to the factory image. I had used TWRP recovery to try and flash the PURE rom onto the phone. I wiped the cache and Dalvik when I did it, but when I rebooted the phone it said that the "Data was corrupted" and kept telling me to restart the phone which I did and it kept coming up with the same thing....
How should I flash this rom correctly so I don't encounter this error?
I am under the assumption this ROM is pretty stable. I am looking for improved battery life and at the moment I have been having signal issues on occasion.
Thank you!!
Oh and the phone is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked as well.
i just sent you how via pm

bricked us a term that is used when a phone is most useful as a door stop. if you can get into the bootloader, its not bricked, ever. we call that "soft bricked".
When I boot the phone it says "To start Android, Enter your Password"
I can type in literally any password and it will go to the next screen and say
"Decryption Unsuccessful"
The password you entered is correct, but unfortunately your data is corrupt.
To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opporunity to restore any data that was backed up to your google account.
Then the only thing I can select is "reset phone."
It seems to automatically do a factory reset, but I have also gone into TWRP and done it myself and the same thing keeps coming up.

ill be honest with you, i had the same issue with the same rom several weeks ago. basically, it wants to decrypt your phone, so it says to factory reset first. problem is, thats the wrong way. to decrypt, you have to format data first, not wipe data. any other rom/kernel will gibve you a choice if you want to decrypt, and wont put you through this hastle.

@simms22, I tried to send you a "thank you" for this advice, which is still invaluable after three years, but apparently your mailbox is full.
Thanks for digging me out of a deep hole that I was digging today for about six hours before I saw this message...
And if you'd like to read the PM, clear your mailbox a bit.

I'm so very sorry to hear that. I'd seen simms22's name for years in various threads and always found him to be helpful and informative. It's a tribute to him that his posts are still valuable.
Very sad news. Thank you for letting me know.

simms22 is unfortunately not going to be able to reply to you. He died nearly two years ago.
In your position, where you're still having issues, I would grab a factory image off Google's pages and restore that to the device first. Then, upgrade to an Android 8.1 ROM such as Nitrogen.

Forgot PiN, fingerprint not work after restart

Dear All,
I have a friend with Huawei P9 Plus with this Firmware VIE-L29C636B103, i don't know what is in his mind on that time but unfortunately after restarting the phone he forgot his PIN to unlocked the phone and the fingerprint was not working. As far as i know, the only solution is by Factory Reset the phone, but he did not want to loose his data. Is there any way to solve this problem?
Thank You

No still original without custom recovery. Can i use TWRP to backup first the data ?
The problem is that you not unlock and then root yet. You basically can't use TWRP. If unlock bootloader, the phone will be immediately wipe data.

He or you could've used it to delete ". key" -files through adb. But that is only useful to have access to the data. You can't set new fingerprints or delete any of them because he must know his forgotten password for it. So it would only be a temporary solution.
Unlocking the bootloader never erased my data. It couldn't cause of some failure appeared at let's say 30%. But I'm not certain that the failure appears also on his phone. Which leads to my suggested solution:
He should try to remember the password and include any typos(yes, typos. My pin was 85320 but it also happened that i typed two times the false pin. The outcome was 85350. Huawei's layout was kinda bull**** and vulnerable for that type of failures. At least to me.) As I know it must be a PIN, not a password. If that fails get rid of the data and make a factory reset.
Thank you all,
Today i connect the P9 Plus Phone USB to HiSuite in Windows 10, i just leave this around 5 minutes and suddenly it connected to HiSuite automatically. Now i'm still backing up the data pictures, etc. Still wondering why in windows 10 it can connected automatically than in windows 7 After backup finished i'm gonna factory reset the phone.
My mistake on comments on unlocking bootloader will erase date since I mixed up the process. Now I remembered that after unlock, if you proceed further to root the phone, the phone will have to erase the data immediately. No option for you to choose not to erase data during rooting process if not mistaken. That's why I dare not to root again the phone.

How to use adb ???

PIN Code problem with Soak Test ?

I'm stumped ! I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and sideloaded the Pie soak test and everything was fine but now all of a sudden my PIN code doesn't work anymore after not using the G6 for a few days (I got the phone ready for a relative) ! Now I did change it recently but I'm pretty sure I didn't make a mistake because I used it after that. Tried all my PIN codes but no go. Is there some kind of "security" in the soak test that would force a default PIN code in some circumstances ? Thanks for any help !
Alternatively would a factory reset/reflash help ?

Factory reset would fix but you would likely need know the Google account as well if there was one.
Thanks, I ended up doing a factory reset from the Recovery and was indeed able to setup the phone from scratch. I used the same Gmail account but it doesn't seem it was necessary.
I still don't know what happened with that PIN code though ! I did delete the original Gmail account (mine) before passing it over to my relative so that might have something to do with it...

Yes, probably factory reset protection.
