PIN Code problem with Soak Test ? - Moto G6 Questions & Answers

I'm stumped ! I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and sideloaded the Pie soak test and everything was fine but now all of a sudden my PIN code doesn't work anymore after not using the G6 for a few days (I got the phone ready for a relative) ! Now I did change it recently but I'm pretty sure I didn't make a mistake because I used it after that. Tried all my PIN codes but no go. Is there some kind of "security" in the soak test that would force a default PIN code in some circumstances ? Thanks for any help !
Alternatively would a factory reset/reflash help ?

Factory reset would fix but you would likely need know the Google account as well if there was one.

Thanks, I ended up doing a factory reset from the Recovery and was indeed able to setup the phone from scratch. I used the same Gmail account but it doesn't seem it was necessary.
I still don't know what happened with that PIN code though ! I did delete the original Gmail account (mine) before passing it over to my relative so that might have something to do with it...

Yes, probably factory reset protection.

Do you have a custom recovery? if so then this might help : " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695 "
My friend followed the above method but he had a Samsung and he forgot his pattern.I'm pretty sure that it might work for you too as well.Still not too sure though.I'll appreciate it if someone could confirm this.
Do this at your own risk.
Also, I don't think you need to consider service centers.
Good luck.

If you have a custom recovery you can flash my script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43500062
However it might not work
Sent from my Xperia SP using XDA Free mobile app
If you forgot your pin used on lockscreen then you can also reset your password by signing in using the id used in PlayStore.(If you have signed in).
You can get that option near Emergency Calls after you enter wrong password more than 5-6 times.

N6 factory reset protection password

Hi guys, i got a Nexus 6, bought to a friend, but i did a factory reset and now is asking me for the last account used in the device, i ask to my friend and dont know (the phone its a gift from his father). Android 5.1 and there is no way to know wich account were used in the device.
Please someone can help, the bootloader is locked, cant unlock because "android debbuging" is off. Can i flash a special stock images or something?? or what can i do to pass this vrification?
thanks.
@fernando2610
You have to enter the username and password for the last person who used the device. There is no way around this. If you can't get that information, then this device is useless.
If bootloader is locked you're Sol!

As @cam30era said, there is no way around this security feature. Without the password from the previous user, the device is useless. Sorry.
Thanks to all you. Maybe un future someone invent something to resolve this. Fuc..ng locked bootloader.

No offense to you but let's hope not. It is a theft deterrent
have him ask his father. his father would know his own username and password. if his farher doesnt know, then id say that there's something fishy going on with that phone..
Thanks again. I ll ask his father, maybe he can talk with Google to solve this.

I still don't see the problem. On every PC ' father ' can login to his google account. And when he has forgotten his password there is a password recovery protocol.

If the phone belonged to the father, there is no problem
Has he changed his password lately? I think you have to wait awhile correct me if I'm.wrong
if he resets his password for you because he doesnt know it you will have to wait 72 hours i believe before you can even log into that phone.

I understood from the OP that the father didn't even remember his password. So he won't be able to reset it. Catch 22.

Even if you have it unlocked, encrypted device wont let you log in. Its better than iCloud ^^

Do i have to be encrypted to enable this security ? i just decrypted my Nexus 6. The phones feels kinda snappy after turning of encryption

Not sure on that. Though if you have an unlocked bootloader, the device protection is useless anyway as you can just flash it back to stock and if you're rooted / modified, locking the bootloader is quite a dangerous thing to do (if you get in a bootloop and cannot get into custom recovery, with a locked bootloader, you're screwed).

[Q] Purchased Used Nexus 6. Not locked out

I recently purchased a nexus 6 off ebay, likely a mistake, and now that I try to run the setup i can't because i'm not the original account on the phone. Is there anything I can do to get past this step, remove the old user account and add myself to the phone? I know the security measure was put in for a reason, but it definitely makes it hard when someone like me gets the phone and is now stuck with a good looking paperweight. I have tried contacting the seller and getting them to provide me with their info for the purposes of setting it up but they are reluctant to offer that up. Unsurprisingly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Fk

I'm sorry but the only way is with that password. This is fault of the seller, they did a factory reset without removing their Google account. If the seller won't help you, contact eBay resolution center.
@fkoulbot,
Unfortunately, plenty of threads here with the same situation.
What @Evolution_Freak said, or open a PayPal claim. Device "Significantly Not As Described". You'll get your money back.
Or, just post it back to him at his expense, and get him to do it properly.
"Hi,
I understand that you feel uncomfortable giving me your Google password. Since the phone is unusable without it, I will have to consider opening a paypal dispute.
To avoid this however, if you offered to cover the cost of 2 way postage of the device (+insurance), I could send the device to you to log into and remove your account properly before resetting and returning to me."

Hey, buddy. I had the same thing happen to me on Swappa. Fortunately the guy was willing to give me his password... BUT in the 2 hours it took him to respond to my dilemma, I had already found a way around it. (Take note that my bootloader was already unlocked when I received the device.) Here's what I did.....
I tried flashing a couple different ROMs to no avail.
Then I realized it was because I was flashing 5.1 ROMs.
So, I found a 5.0.1 ROM that doesn't have the reactivation built in, flashed it, got it set up, then flashed a new 5.1 ROM. It worked for me but YMMV. I do believe having an unlocked bootloader in the first place helped. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for that info. I had actually received and tried that but because it wasn't unlocked i was stuck. I did get the login info but now worried that they somehow have access to the phone. I noticed the label of a "group" of apps on my home screen was randomly changed. I did DL an antivirus app and it found something but I'm still worried about the security of the phone. Do you happen to have any suggestion on the best thing i can do to absolutely clear any of the old account information etc?

First thing I would do is go into Settings -> Accounts and remove the Google account that it was originally linked on. Then add your own. Do a factory reset, and you should be fine. If you want to go the extra mile, set up the reactivation lock under your account. I do believe that should clear any permissions he may still have as they would be linked to his Google account.

Boot to bootloader.
Fastboot format userdata
(Note that this will wipe everything, including contents of SDcard.
I would lock then unlock bootloader which would wipe the phone and then go to google and download latest builds and flash the phone to factory stock. Boot in, if there isn't anything funky, then I would made a backup of the stock and flash custom ROMs from that point. I like to check first if it works bone stock wiped before tinkering. That way if anything is still wrong with it I know who's at fault.

Well, more likely if it's locked I would just unlock, but yes the act of flashing it to factory images will wipe in one go. Relocking and unlocking is redundant.
Guys does anyone confirm that is any way you can remove the Google Account Lock on Nexus 6 that the previous seller didn't remove the Goggle Account?
Thanks in advance!
Im having the same dang issue!! Hopefully I can get it flashed since sell won't give me password.

Phone bricked.

Hi,
I'm a starter developer and tested my rom. It had a binary script issue, due that the rom wasnt installed. As all of us may know, before installing rom, you should backup and wipe data, right? So, I backuped system, cache, etc. Wiped and tried the rom, it didnt install as I stated before. So I went to my computer and searched for the mistake. I turned the phone off, because I was away for some time and I thought I could boot into recovery later. So, as I found the mistake and grabbed the phone to go to recovery, it didnt get there. Got to that fastboot&rescue mode. It showed, that the bootloader was locked. But how? I have no idea. So, I can only get to the fastboot&rescue mode. Once I got all the information needed to get a new unlock code, it told me "The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days". Putting the dload folder on sd card doesnt work aswell. Any other fixes? Please help! I need to get the device running. Thanks!
Have a great day!
if you use facebook acount to login to huawei bootloader unlock site there should not be 2 weeks wait period afaik. at least mine was generated instantly.

Product ID is generated using 2 strings, phone model and IMEI, so it shouldn't be valid for other model name. PM me your IMEI/model and i will generate it for you.

you can log in with a new account after 72 hours, after changing your account. that's the only way. if you can't remember your google account, I'd write it down somewhere if I were you
thanx to replay tell me plz can we downgrade 60 to 5.1.1 using adb?
72 hours I think is a time limit related to changed password.
If you forgot your password, you probably can't change it. I you can't, you have no options that i know of without using that special android N mentioned in the video.

According to Google, FRP is also in Android 5.x. The fact the OP is getting a FRP prompt means OEM Unlock is not enabled. Further, the OP just yesterday resurrected this device by installing the Android N Preview, and likely flashed the standard image afterward. This would mean his bootloader is locked.
There are no alternatives here that I can see. The OP needs to remember his password on this device or his computer in order to get back in. Downgrading is not possible with a locked bootloader.
any idea about 60 google account
One thing that may work is resetting the password to the account on the PC. Once you get back in you should be able to remove the device from the account using the Device Manager. There is no way to get in to the phone without knowing the password, so the PC is your best hope, if you can't remember the password.
Ideally, you want the password you used, which is the easiest way to fix this.

hahahaha no thing impossible
I don't believe anyone has found a way to bypass FRP since the March update was applied. Since you likely got the image off Google's page where the images are offered, you installed the April version, which will have that hardening of FRP. You're right in that it's not impossible, but it is very very improbable. If you can't bypass, can't remember the account password or even the account email, then I guess you're looking for a new device.
