I just flashed my stock ROM with Cognition 3.04. It looks pretty good and improved the performance. I get around 1500 on Quadrant BenchMark.
But still I have some problems in few applications. As soon as I snooze my alarm, the alarm application Closed (Force Close). I had the same problem with few other application.
Any suggestions on avoiding this on Cognition ROM!!!!
With force closes you can try to uninstall or reinstall the app, or reflash the rom. Make sure you don't have a lagfix active when you flash. For your clock app I would backup using titanium backup, uninstall clock and then restore the clock. Just my suggestions.

Cognition's default behavior is to enable the lagfix on it's first boot so you really don't need to worry about that. As for reinstalling the clock app, open the zip file you used to install Cognition and go to the system/app directory, pull out the clock apk, and then drop it onto your phone in the same directory.

Flash with Odin back to stock, put disable lagfix folder in voodoo folder and reflash Cognition. Manually reinstall the market then use TIBU to restore your apps. Then use ROM Manager fix permissions to solve any FC issues.
I just got an automatic update from the market for BW. Now when I touch the weather, BW force closes. Anybody else with this or any advice on what to do about it? I've re-booted twice. Running 2.1 rooted.

try this first:
go to settings->applications->manage applications->all, find bw, click the "clear data" button.
Before you updated did you have the app shutdown?
Sounds like a borked install. I would uninstall and re-install it. Also there is the folder it creates - and if you continue to have FC issues I would recommend deleting it too. Its found inside the data folder on your internal SDCard.
Thanks guys
Didn't have to reinstall though. Working well.
So I tried the new MIUI rom for Milestone and I really liked it, I switched from CM7, and when I did a data restore from CM7 to MIUI, it made my phone freeze and not run properly, giving me system errors. So I wiped and did a davlik wipe as well. Did a nandroid restore to my CM7 rom and used Astro file manager to backup all my apps. Than I wiped again and flashed MIUI, than used astro to install all the apps again, but they do not show up as installed in my market. Just the purchased ones show up as not installed, just pruchased. Is there a way that I can fix it, so the market will detect me installed apps so I can update them. I was hoping to have to avoid reinstalled 50 or more apps.
Thanks, Adam.
Hope all that made sense lol

Use TITANIUM BACKUP and use the option to force app to show on market.
the Market Doctor? or is there another option? Will restoring my apps make them appear in the market?
Thanks.

Download the TITANIUM BACKUP and them look for the option to attach the app you want to the Market.
Simple like that.
search app call "google xxx architecture" in manage application, clear cache, reboot, relogin gmail, open market
off coz use tititum backup to save the app for DR
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
What about the apps that it didn't attach? it maybe did half...

I tried that, but that option only applies to the stock sms app.
but in that case is there a way to run go sms persistently? there is a option in go sms to make it run persistence but in doesnt work, it always closes. think that is the problem :/
yea it never worked for me either (the option in gosms) just uninstall it tbh dude. Also here's a present for you, save re-installing the rom
it's not a flashable zip so just extract, put them onto your sdcard, move the file then to /system/app/ drop them there and click on mms.apk to reinstall it

thanks anyway man i usually backup apps with titanium backup before uninstall but i forgot this
Dear All
I used Titanium Backup Pro to freeze both FM Radio app( the stock app) and the installed Accue weather app to stop them from keep them running in the background and eating memory , and I thought that when I need to run them I just hit the app to run, (this is what I thought and do not know if this is correct or no!!)
So I found that both apps are disappeared from my note, so I went to Titanium to defrost them. but after a success defrost I did not find them, so I made a restart and did find them, so I tried to make a restore but I did not find the FM Radio in the apps list since I did not made a backup for it, so how I can get it back
and also I made a restore for accue weather app but I did not find it after the restore
What is wrong

U on stock rom ? If you want i can put up the TiB files for you and you can put them in your sd card and restore using TiB. Also remember to push the app as a system app otherwise they wont work.
Cheers! Enjoy your Note.
Hit thanks if it helped!
It may be due to incompatibility of TB versions. If that is the case, do a power defrost of ALL frozen apps -> Go to batch, power defrost, reboot your device. After that you can manually freeze your unwanted apps one by one.

Idid the power defrost, and I found them back, thanks
Now , was what I did right but the results were wrong because of incompatibility of TB versions, how usually the freeze feature works?
Nothing wrong on your part. It is TB's issue between updates and that is how to tackle the problem. From now on you can normally freeze/defrost your apps.

thanks for your replay, I mean is it normal that when you freeze an app it will be disappears from the apps drawer? i tried now another app for a test and found that after freeze it disappeared, so how I can stop any app from working in the background but I can run it when I want only?
Yes, it is normal. As far as I know you can't stop any app from working in the background, unless you can find that option within the app itself.

so freeze is like delete the app without uninstall it, and when you want it back you just defrost it

Exactly. It will stop the app running in the background or even foreground. Always remember to check what you are freezing. If you freeze any system app which is required by system or some other app then the system or that app will start giving you force closes.
