I heared that O3D will use OMAP dual core as its soc
Got any news about this rumor?

True story. It uses the OMAP 4430, which is two ARM A9 cores (like Tegra 2) but with a clocked up PowerVR SGX540. According to Anandtech (Can't post links) it seems to generally outperform Tegra 2, although with the old SGX540 it probably doesn't have any of the advanced features that the ULP GeForce supposedly provides...
Personally I'd rather have the performance.
Which is ??

Has anyone tried to flash the razr deodexed rom to this phone yet. Are they identical as far as hardware goes? I'm tempted to try it

Different processor for starters. Also different gpu i believe.

The razr uses the same processor as the bionic, the OMAP 4430. It also has the same GPU as well.
The CPU on the razr has be overclocked to run at 1.2Ghz.
The galaxy nexus uses the OMAP 4460 which clocks at 1.5GHz and uses a slightly more powerful GPU than that the 4430 uses.
The nexus has been under locked to run at 1.2Ghz.
In short. The razr and bionic have the same processor and gpu, where they differ is at the kernel level.

So different kernal and locked bootloader= not a good idea?

Processor
From what I have read personally, the Razr has the 4460 as well as the Nexus. The Bionic has the 4430. I am pretty sure that is correct.
Sorry, Just an observation.

No, the Razr has a 4430
I heard 4460 as well, but i also dont have one. Id die though if it was another d2g scheme where they repackage a phone with 1 new option and re-release it as "special" if its the same phone only no removable battery. #Phuckthatfone

OMFG The galaxy nexus is the first phone released with 4460.
As for the RAZR...
The motorola site list the processor as 4430.
It was listed as 4460 on their site after the nexus premier but they changed it back and followed it up in the forums by stating they made a typo which was now corrected.
The teardown of the RAZR also reveals A 4430 CHIP.
IT IS NOT A 4460.

I hope this is possible for the Photon 4G, and by the way, the rom can be modified to work with the Bionic.
They are both "HTC Holiday" but Am I crazy or are the Velocity and Vivid actually fairly different in technical specs...
The HTC Velocity is advertised as being 1.5, but I see the vivid is 1.2
Are there any other differences like RAM or a change in GPU to go along with the CPU change?
HTC Velocity apparently has - Dual Core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 220 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon chipset
HTC Vivid apparently has - Qualcomm® APQ 8060, 1.2 GHz dual core processor, Qualcomm MDM9200
Maybe they are the same thing and one is overclocked?
they are the same thing, but the vivid is UNDERclocked
I think the scorpion is a better processor.

They are both scorpion. As PG mentioned they are the same hardware wise, just under clocked for a more conservative power consumption.
excellent, thanks for the info gents!
OK so I'm building my first rig and I've heard of the cpu almost 'restricting' my gpu. Also post any ideas or thoughts on my build as I would love to know. (I'm a beginner when it comes to hardware)
Asus GTS 450 1GB Silent Direct CU $154.70
AMD Athlon II X2 260 @ 3.2
Asrock 880GMH AM3
Western Digital 500Gb SATA
Adata 4GB XPG Gaming DDR3 4GB @ 1600MHZ
Huntkey GreenPower 550w
It is a budget build and I couldn't find the appropriate section for PC's.

Lol, I think that's because xda it's a forum for phones. But I dabble in computers.
At first glance I would say you were combining old tech (amd athalon 2) with newer tech (mobo and ram) so I would definitely say your rig is being limited by your CPU. I'm not 100% familiar with amd since I'm more of an Intel guy, but I'll do some research for you.

Thanks yeah the athlon is getting quite old yet overclocking to 3.7ghz would help but I don't think it would help enough. I might have to look more at the Phenom lineup

Some other thoughts:
You motherboard has 4 memory slots for DDR3 ram that operate only in dual channel mode. DDR3 ram is meant to be operated in triple channel mode. Meaning shots gave to be in multiples of 3. So your MOBO is restricting your ram.

Right OK I will have a look at that
I don't really think I need triple-channel either though.

Is the Tegra3 processor a 2core, 3core or 4core and what is the GHZ speed of this Tegra3? I love this new Nexus7 it is totally awesome.
Quad hut actually has 5...I believe it is 1.2ghz stock (could be wrong).

Just watched a neat nVidia video on the Tegra 3. It has 4-cores and a "companion core". The companion core does all the mundane background stuff and sucks the least juice. The other cores only kick in when needed, like for loading an app quickly, playing a game, etc.
The video was linked in another thread on XDA...just can't remember where.
It's a 5 core chip with a 12 core GPU, clocked at 1.3 ghz.

What is the diferrence between armv7 rev1 and Armv7 rev2?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium HD app
Both are the same architecture, rev2 is an upgraded version of the rev1 chip. Sort of like the tegra 3 and the tegra 3+
They both belong to the same generation of chipsets, but may differ in chip size, die cast size, RAM management, voltage, K-value of materials used and so on

Not necessarily, two identical CPUs may differ enough so that one can be overclocked about 1Ghz while the other might be unstable at 100MHz overclock.

I dont know much about mobile processors but I assume it follows the same concept as Desktop processors. Lets assume the i5 2500k is Arm v7 rev1 while the i5 3570k is the Arm v7 rev2. Just cuz the i5 3570k is newer does not necessarily mean it will clock better or hold temperatures as well. Yes i do know the latter i5 is built with a smaller die size but thats not my point
To answer your question, it really comes down to luck on how well you can clock your processor.
