Does anyone know of a good stylus for the Notion Ink Adam? Mine just shipped and I am thinking about getting a stylus to take notes, on the subject of notes does anyone know of a good note taking program for things like math and diagrams (for use with said stylus )

I have no experience with a stylus on capacitive screens at all.
You have the HTC styluses for desire Z. I'm just worried they might scratch the screen when used for writing.
Others that have like a little cushion on the tip don't seem really accurate for writing and annotating.
At NCW HTC launched its own tablet which has a pointy stylus Which should work with a capacitive screen.
It looks like the rep refers to 2 buttons on the stylus to either highlight or write/ draw. I wonder if that stylus would also work on other capacitive screens like the Adam.

best buy sells a 20 dollar stylus by targus with a rubbery tip that doesnt scratch, its what I use.

At least the two i got from ebay are! makes using some apps and stuff almost unusable, scrolling is almost impossible. I have a screen protector fitted but everything is smooth with my finger.
Anyone else have any experience with using pens?
yeah it works kind of okay when pressing (however you have to press hard sometimes.. also scrolling is indeed impossible. i bought those pens so i could play cryonphysics better but thats a no go
so i wouldnt buy stylus's for scrolling.. or maybe the expensive one's work better? i bought cheap ones from ebay.

Those ones are a joke as well, barely even works.
i think our device is designed for our fingers
sense is fingerfriendly, even windows explorer can be used with fingers...thanks to our huge screen
so why buying such a crap?
if there's no "cartridge" to put it in, i won't buy it

I have it, it has a plus and a downside. The downside is that scrollng is almost impossible therefore you still need to use your finger. The plus side is that the precission is astonishing. The little red dot does the job you want. You can click on listed links while browsing without zooming in and without selecting the link next to it.
Still it is not worth the 17 pounds.
Also these styli ARE Dagi styli http://www.dagi.com.tw/, since I bought one of these aswell to compare.
They are exactly the same. Same weight, material, length/width/depth etc.
So if you want to buy one. Dagi sells them for around 12 USD a piece.
I'm not able to post any pictures atm, since I'm not at home. If I am I will.
Stylus pens
No pen works very well on the HD2, so do not waste any money on buying one.
The only time you may need a pen, is if you work with gloves on, or wear gloves due to extreme cold weather and do not want to take your gloves off.
I have tried most of them as I spend a lot of time in a walk in freezer. The HTC is no better than the dagi or the cheaper versions from China sold on ebay.
I saw a video somewhere on youtube if im not wrong, it shows how you can make cheap pen for capacitive screens. You have to use and old normal pen, some wire and some conductive foam and it worked fine on the video.

It may have to do with hardware evidenced by tests like this one. The HD2's digitizer just isn't designed to be written on in terms of polling rate and sensitivity, so it may not completely be the fault of the pens.

I'm not gonna recommend any particular ebay trader over any other, but I've tried almost all the supposed capacitive styluses (stylii?) out there and found only two that actually work.
There's the HTC one with the funny flat clear plastic 'blade' thingie with the dot in the middle of the flat 'blade' to line up the bit you want to interact with. They work, but they are awful (sorry HTC, it's true, patent or no they are still awful!). And way over the top pricing! WAY over the top! C'mon HTC!

And if I need to slide the stylus across the screen, I rub a touch of nose oil (from the OUTSIDE of my nose!) onto the tip. This may just be needed because the screen protector I use is fairly 'grippy', though - it might not have the slide problems used directly onto the glass screen. I usually just use my finger for the sliding bit and the stylus for everything else.
All those hard rubber tipped stylus out there? Junk. All those foam tipped stylus out there? More junk. Pretty looking, in fashion colours, but junk none-the-less!
This is not a paid advert for anybody whatsoever - just my experience from my extensive junk stylus collection... Must find some creative use for them all...

capacitive pens
I have the one made by Pogo that isn't too bad. It You can do a certain amount of scrolling with it but nothing beats the finger!
has anybody purchased the HD2 stylus yet? the screen may be huge, but I miss using a stylus for texting. I have read really bad reviews, but I do want one.

i have tried 4 different types of capacitive stylus for the hd2. the only one that works is the htc knockof by Dagi. The product is solid, BUT you have to place the pen end on the hd2 screen at a particular angle every time to get it to work. I swear somtimes they make things harder than they have to be. The pen point is not a point at all. It is a clear plastic circle with a dot in the middle. You have to handle it with extreme care because it can easly snap off and there goes 20 bucks. I guess I will still have to use my finger.

Unfortunately, that is the problem with the capacitive screen. The so-called stylus is actually something that emulates your finger tip in terms of contact area. Personally, a very sensitive resistive screen, such as in Samsung I8000 (Omnia 2) is better than the capacitive screen if you do a lot of text work involving copying, cutting and pasting!
Having come from a long line of WinMo phones, all of which had resistive screens, I have ordered a Dell Streak based purely on its size. I am a heavy PDA user and a light phone user.
However, two of the things that I really like about the resistive screen are that (a) I can have a lot of information on the screen at any one time and click on any of it with the stylus and (b) I can use handwriting recognition for all of my text input.
I realise that a capacitive screen cannot do either of these, but I am wondering how effective the capacitive stylii that are advertised actually are.
Anybody got any experience with them?
Got one, don't use it. There may be differences in quality, the one I have works 'reasonably' well, but not well enough to use on a regular basis, it has a flat sponge type of tip.
The first one I bought from eBay turned out not to be for a capacitive screen (seller refunded without argument) so you do need to be careful.
I have one, use it often to draw on the streak. It does take a bit of getting used to, but they're accurate and feel a little more organic (because of the soft tip) than 'regular' styluses.
Got one, don't like it. It came free with some screen protectors.
I'm not sure if it's a high quality one or a cheap one (exspect branded), but I can't get on with the spongey feel of the tip.

It's very well made and has a good heft to it, feels like quality. I've only been able to test it on my TP as N7 still on the slow boat from Timbuktoo, the TP is not as sensitive as the N7 and pressure sensitive apps don't seem to work on it so more on that when the N7 arrives. That said the stylus is very responsive and the tip does not 'stick' to the screen although I suppose it depends what (if any) screen protector you have and how tacky it is so ymmv.
The pen end is not a gimmick, it takes Parker refills so that's a big plus point, the lid clips on firmly and the pocket clip is very strong but there's nowhere to store the cap when you are using the pen as it won't fit over the stylus tip, that's a minor problem though..
I have only one big gripe but which could be a problem if you intend to use it for long periods, when using the stylus end the balance point is too far back for my liking and the stylus wants to tip back all the time, given it's weight this is noticeable quite quickly. The balance point is a tiny bit forward of the line of the cap joint which is about the two thirds mark. You can ease the problem by taking the cap off the end but that exposes the pen nib with all the dangers of drawing on your hand/clothes as well as the screen.
As I said above, it's a well made piece if kit and well worth the money, I've used a few styluses from checp nasty ones to better quality, this one is by far the best I've used yet even given the balance issue.
I got this as well and am very happy with it! This is my first tablet, so maybe I don't know what a real good stylus is, but it feels really natural to use and I actually prefer it over using my fingers. Plus less smudging and the pen is handy as well
Got my N7 this morning and have had time to play with it, compared to the TP the screen responsiveness is in another league altogether.
The stylus is smooth running across the (as yet) unprotected screen and pressure sensitivity works very well, the Kensington gets a couple more stars from me
Update, Three weeks later and while the stylus is still as good to use, the pen cap is getting loose (rubber O ring a bit thin) which means it can come apart when hung from the clip. Drops a star for that.

My guess....he's using Quill or a similar app which has a tool that somehow manages to mimic pressure sensitivity.

I spoke of pressure sensitive Apps, not the N7 screen. I can't speak for all Apps but Markers is one that responds well to the stylus. I think it may be sensing tip coverage but it goes much further than just the area touched by the stylus (or your finger) try it and you'll see what I mean.
Final thought on this stylus, I've given up on it!
The tip went soft and started dragging on the screen and I got to dislike the feel of the stylus so much (especially the surface roughness) that I had to force myself to use it, so it's consigned to the drawer. I can use the pen refill elsewhere.
Moved on now to an Applydea Maglus, opinions pending

I got the silver elago stylus for 10 bucks, made of aluminum, removable soft tip, nice length, width, weight, and it includes an additional soft tip

Mine has become totally unusable now, the tip seems sticky and will not run across the screen smoothly.

If I wanted to use the phone to draw with a pen as if I had a digitizer tablet...
What type of pen would I need?
I guess the Mi8's screen is capacitive.
What model would you recommend?
Something accurate and not scratching the screen and that not too expensive.
Will an active stylus work with this phone?
Or do I need to stay with a digital capacitive pen?
I bought one from Aliexpress, cheaper than the expensive ones, but still 19€.
I know it doesn't say it's sensitive to pressure but I for that price I expected something able to draw with different widths.
I'm dissapointed, it's just a common pen but with a hard tip that can scratch your screen.
