Hi, I'd like to downgrade my radio to a CM 6.x compatible radio. I currently am running SparksMod 2.1 and want to make sure I have no problems with bricks or anything I do currently have DangerSPL and the 2708 Kernel. Thanks!

Sorry for the nooby question, but is it possible to root, and keep the stock froyo rom but add in a different kernel? (intersectRaven's for example)
Yes.
Though I recommend checking out the ROM linked in my sig, if you want to keep the stock FRF91... it has a black bar built in. Looks much better.
if i want to go straight from stock frf91 to that rom you have, i dont need to flash radio do i? because i think my radio is already right
as long as you have a froyo radio already you dont need to flash one for a froyo based rom.
I've been using Biffmod 2.1 on my G1 for a couple days, including the upgrade to the 2708 radio. But I'm just not happy with the speed. I'm assuming if I roll back to Eclair, the speed will be better. But do I have to downgrade my radio too, or can I flash an Eclair ROM, then flash a 2708 kernel on top of it?
Why not try an updated Biffmod 2.1, or one of the ota 2.2.1 roms first? Ezterry's OTA and Froyo4trout are pretty fast.
As for downgrading, I don't see why the universal kernel patch wouldnt work, but I'm not sure.
you can just flash the eclair rom over your exisiting rom(wipe first ofc then flash preferred eclair rom, universal kernal patch, then firerats spoof spl.)

Is the flashing of a new radio and SPL actually necessary? When I had a g1 I frequently switched between cupcake, donut, eclair, AND froyo ROMs. I never had to flash a new radio or SPL between ROMs. Just do a wipe between flashing roms, especially between firmware versions (what I mean by that is you should do a full wipe, cache, dalvik cache, and all betweem different versions of android, such as 1.6 to 2.1 or 2.1 to 2.2, etc.)
Ya, that's right. The radio shouldn't make a difference in the rom once you flash the kernel patch. I just didn't see that much of a speed difference between froyo and eclair. If you wanted a speed boost, donut would be your best bet. Its the fastest on these old phones.

I think eclair was probably worse than froyo since it was a port from the nexus one if I remember correctly. Google included the g1 drivers in the source code for froyo, so it was a straight up AOSP build, no porting necessary.
My Nexus One is on CM7 RC1. With the terrible battery life, I want to revert it to stock 2.3.3. What are the steps that I should follow?
Cyanogenmod 7 RC1 Build GRH78C
Bump!
Any stepdown required??
EDIT: Many thanks to Rod3!!!
CM7 Rc1 is giving me hard time. So want to give a try with 2.3.3
Just wipe and flash one of the rooted stock ROMS from the development section. I tried it out for $hits and giggles and returned to CM as I was missing way to many of the additional features (namely TB wake).
Do I need to put any other radio?
The OTA update included the 5.08 radio. You need to have that as a minimum. Personally, I use the 5.12 radio.
If you flash a new radio, make sure you verify the md5 otherwise you could brick your device.
whats the fastest and most reliable rom for the newest radio and spl?
froyo by lazlo, Xillius donut rom, SenseLX
for senselx i finally got it to run but im not sure what kernal to use for it that will allow me to use wired tethering
wired tethering didnt work on it?
