Whenever I press a letter on the keyboard, 1 of 2 other letters are pressed and when I try to select an app it sometimes selects an adjacent app instead. I downloaded an app called "Multitouch Test" and it shows clear issues with the screen. The two touch points are suppose to stay green when you're touching the screen but they keep going crazy and changing between blue and green and move all over the screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for pointing out the app. Mine seems fine. It shows blue if not moving & green when I move. Really shows how hard it is to hold the finger still! It would be nice to know the size of the contact area. I mean, it would be nice if it showed the exact area that the finger is contacting the screen. Then you could see if it was off by a bit.
Thanks,
kev

Nope. Mine seems ok. I'm running HC.
I tried getting adb to work through usb and while I was checking and unchecking debugging, the multi touch fixed itself. Idk why or how but it works perfectly in multitouch test now.

OK, I searched the forums and couldn't find anything else on this.
I've got the Tilt with Dutty's Hybrid ROM on it and HTC home customizer and blackbars. Funny thing is (and this just started) that once in a while now the top and bottom bars will disappear and leave white spaces, though the rest of the screen is still visible (clock, etc...). The Windows button works and drops down the windows menu, but the bar and screen button are not visible. Tapping the area on the screen where the button should be also drops down the menu, even though the button itself isn't visible.
Opening an app such as calendar oddly puts the top and bottom calendar bars in, but the actual calendar screen is not visible...just the "today" screen. So you can click on the calendar menu buttons, but see no calendar screen.
A soft reset seems to get everything back to normal, but I want to know if this is the sign of impending doom for my device and I need to put the stock ROM back on, or if is a conflict of some sort with the software and I maybe did something incorrect.
Any ideas?
Sometimes when I am trying to text I can only see one line and my phone doesn't allow me to scroll down. If I hit enter I can still only see the one line. Anyone else have this problem?

That will happen occassionally. I think the only way to fix it is by closing and then reopening the messaging app.
I have seen this happen often if you hit a button to launch the messaging app, and then slide the keyboard open (causing screen rotation) while the app is loading. It gets confused and makes the text entry area fall under the bottom button bar.
The answer is to completely close and re-open the messaging app, and always wait until it is fully loaded before sliding the keyboard out.
Another trick is to load the SIP. Touch the keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen and it will push the text input window out.
has anyone had trouble with the search button in the Android Market app when in portrait mode?
it seems like the search function will never appear with only 1 press. i have to press it several times to get the search function to come up.
it only seems to be an issue with the portrait mode. when i'm in landscape mode, i have no problems.
is it just me?

I think I have the same issue. I think it is the touch screen sensitivity in that area. People have mentioned various "dead" or "numb" areas like the right or left edge when using crossword puzzle. I don't often use any buttons that are that close to the edge, so it may just be the unit. Some have had success with recalibrating the touch screen. You may search for touchscreen sensitivity.

thanks! this has improved the response. i'm at about 75% success rate. much better than the ~25% rate before.
You can also tap the nook menu button at the bottom (looks like a circle with 3 horizontal lines in it) and then a tab for search comes up (on the left bottom). I have been using this because I've been having the same problem getting the little magnifying glass search icon to register my tap.
NookColor Autonootered
I have experienced the exact same issue. So far I haven't noticed which part of the search button would be the most sensitive though.
If you run a search on the forum, you will see that this problem has come up many times. The Nook is designed so that touch sensitivity for tapping the edges is not very responsive.
You can check the nookdevs wiki for information on how to recalibrate the screen.
I've found that tapping slightly to the left of the button yields better results, but its still hit or miss.
Just hit the menu button and select search. Problem solved. Raising you LCD density also helps if you must touch the search button.

Download the newer version of market. It works much better (but still not perfect).

It isn't a screen issue
Open the market and then tap the my apps section. The search icon in the top corner is the same as the one on the market home screen. There is no issue selecting search then.
The problem is that the 'app carousel' is actually bigger then what it looks on screen

There is a screen issue. The digitizer is not accurate on the screen edges. Use a drawing program to prove it to yourself. That said, I have not tried recalibrating yet.
I tried calibrating and didn't notice any major difference. Maybe a little bit better.

I bought a Nook Color yesterday and immediately AutoNooterd it. BTW, I love saying Autonooter
Everything is working fine...except for one small annoyance. The extreme right side of the screen seems like it out of calibration or dead. For example, when I use Dolphin Browser HD and swipe to the left to bring out the toolbar on the right I have difficultly selecting the extensions. Or when I'm in the market and I want to search, I have a hard time clicking the magnifying glass icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Sometimes I can hit them, sometimes I can't, and sometimes I have to aim "off" of them to click them.
Has anyone else seen an issue like this? I haven't tried it using Nook Home. Is there a way to calibrate the screen?
Thanks.
Just got the P20 Pro and there's a small issue I'm having. Just wondering if it's normal and if so how it can be fixed.
When you've registered a finger print and you want to register a second finger print you go to 'Security & privacy' > 'Fingerprint ID'... it then asks you for the PIN if you've set up a PIN. When typing in this PIN nothing appears in the boxes on top of the screen. No dots or stars appear in any of the boxes and it just stays blank?
Any ideas?
Anyone?

Ahh... So I'm guessing it will happen on all the phones when in dark mode. It's not just an issue with some phones?
No, it's a bug; in the dark mode. The software version my phone originally came with did not have this issue, but otherwise it's been there on all new firmwares. Not a big issue though.
