Samsung galaxy s I9000 not booting up,please help! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all...
Tommorow my galaxy s will not boot,i did restore hardware settings (volume up+power button + home button) but the phone is not starting at all and when it starts it's showing only the first samsung galaxy s screen. USB does not work either so I cannot connect with keys? Can someone please help, maybe I need to reinstall firmware or something, never had expereiance with android or galaxy s!
Thanx in advance

Have you tried to do the factory reset once more? In case you have and the phone is still not booting, you will probably have to flash a new firmware with re-partition.

Can you please help me with some "how to" flash a new firmware with re-partition ?
Thank you

On this site you can find all the firmwares for Galaxy S. In the bottom you can find Odin (software that will flash the FW to your device) and other needed files, some screenshots and some guides in different languages. If the guides are not sufficient for you, the "flash process" is described in plenty of threads, so you should find it.

[Q] Stucked on the samsung galaxy s screen.

Stucked on boot screen (the one that we usually see first with white letters). I did factory reset but I am still stucked on Galaxy S boot screen. I heard the default galaxy S sound but did not see the big 'S'. When I press Volume down + Home + Power , I just see a big triangle which says 'Downloading...do not turn off target'. This means that I can go into the download mode.
I installed odin3 and installed .512 PIT file as well as JH2 firmware from samsung-firmwares website. Inside the JH2 zip file I see a file with extension .tar (I think this goes in PDA section of ODIN).
After connecting my phone with my computer, I see 0:[COM6] in Odin. Plz guide me from hereon. Any help will be much appreciated.
NOTE: I was using gscript o change system fonts. Probably deleted system fonts. Then, I restored back to system and since then phone would not start. Well, it starts but I am stucked on this screen.
I am using Samsung galaxy S vibrant (Bell, canada [GT-I900M])
I will not help because you didn't ask the right question. Please change the title of your thread to something more intelligible or no one will bother.

I am trying to connect to KIES because I think i can reflash using test mode.
Yes..I tried that? Did wipe/factory reset..then rebooted....got the same screen again.
Thanks for replying
EDIT: when I go to recovery menu (Volume up + home + power) and then connect with USB...I can see my device listed by using 'adb devices' command in the cmd prompt.
OK....When I connect my phone to my computer via USB, I can see 0:[COM6] in ODIN. I can go into download mode. I have downloaded JH2 firmware (zip file from samsung-firmwares website). I have Bell Samsung galaxy S vibrant. Can I flash with ODIN.

[Q] I lost my SGS firmware by wrong wy of flashin .....please HELP

I tried to update my SGS to android 2.2 through kies wihtout puting my phone in to recovery mode. The firmware seems to be lost and the device cannot boot only give me a black screen with word samsung galaxy s GT I9000 wrote on it.
Iam very new in android devices please help me. I do not know what I should to do..
Mine did the same thing when I flashed with Kies.
Try this: Hold Volume UP, Home button and on/off button together until a screen with a few options appears. Select Wipe/factory reset from the list using the volume up/down button. Select ok and reboot. You will loose all your data but your phone will work again.

BTW You did the upgrade the right way. With Kies you don't need to go into recovery or download mode before flashing. Follow the previous posters instructions and if that doesn't work you'll need to search around here more, for other flashing methods or just to find out if your internal sdcard is dead.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab blank screen after flash attempt

Hi,
Please help. I tried flashing the Galaxy Tab with some firmware on samfirmware.com for North America and not sure what happened but now the Tab is completely blank and not responsive. When I connect the USB to the computer, it does recognize that the Tab is connected though. Please let me know what I should do to fix this. Thanks!!

Is it possible you flashed the wrong FW? After flashing was the tab able to reboot?
Try wiping cache and do a factory reset. Volume-up+powerbutton. You will see in the middle of the screen a little triangle. Then push the volume-up button again. Then you will be in the recovery-mode. There choose wipe/cache and the wipe-data/factoryreset.
If that not helps try flashing another FW. The Rot-hammer i.e.
Fixed it!
Actually, somehow I fixed it now. There was nothing on the display at all. I could see from Odin that it could sometimes try uploading the firmwares. What I think worked was I pressed the Home + Volume Down + Power to try to bring the Tab into download mode and then I pressed Start on Odin immediately to try uploading a different firmware. There was no display on the Tab itself so I was not sure if it was actually in download mode.
Anyway, I'm glad it's working fine now.

please tell me what firmware you flashed...please im stuck and depending on what firmware i flash i can hear it start but still blank screen
Same black screen
I can get Odin to recognize my tab, windows 7 can see it and I can flash to it, but the screen is black all the time.
Has anyone had any luck?
What do samsung use to fix this? I've seen a repair/service program from ZTE for some of their devices that I believe was procured from an employee of ZTE. Maybe there is something like that around?
<edit>
I also flashed a rom from samfirmware, so I guess the issue is a locked bootloader from a stock rom. Anyone know how to fix this?
I too am having this issue with sawfiremware image.
i can can tell i am in download mode but i am unable to flash the EA24 firmware.
Anything that can be done?
Thank you!!
My Tab's screen won't turn on at all, even when plug-in, even that Odin said that flash was successful. But after connecting it to PC with Odin opened (Odin recognized it), loaded all files needed for flash in Odin, I pressed HOME+Volume Down + Power, the device auto-dismounted from PC, and reconnected again, I pressed start in Odin and after finishing updating firmware, the screen was working again.
Good luck to everybody! I'm happy now
what firmware did you use? thx

Hello Everyone, I'm from Nepal. I have also same problem after few days. I search in google and YouTube also but not solve my problem. then i use my technical ideas on SM T561 tab, and I'm Shocked its open and working properly. if you also want to do that plz download Miracle Thunder 2.82 and Odin. install Miracle thunder and open, connect your Samsung tab with pc or laptop, on Miracle Thunder choose Samsung button, scan you Samsung port, model> Auto detect, mode > download, then select factory reset and click Go and wait. now your tab download mode then go to Odin and flashing your Samsung tab original firmware from website and flashing your tab. 100% its work. Thank you and sorry for my poor English.

[Q] Cannot Access Boot Recovery

Last night I was trying to update my Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830i to Jellybean. And I messed up. I followed the instructions from a forum, which asked me to root the phone by pressing Power+Volume UP+Home Key and then install the Jellybean from the memory card.
I did all that was told step by step I believe. But maybe the Jellybean software was corrupted or I messed up with some step, I don't know. And now the situation is that, there is no Android OS installed on the phone, the phone is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i Logo, doesn't move further. I cannot even enter in the recovery mode by pressing Power+Volume UP+Home Keys combination. Tried everything from removing battery to SD Card, even waited for hours after pressing the combination for recovery mode. Nothing works
Now I don't know what to do I am not a technical person when it comes to playing with Android.
Any help with step by step explanation in simple words in this regards would be a relief.

ROOTING
For rooting follow this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551156)
Good luck and let us know if you encounter any problems.
If you tried to upgrade to Jellybean as in upgrade your version of Android then there is no known way of doing this on an S5830i and you may have installed an update that wasn't intended for your device, therefore bricking it in the process. A link to the instructions that you followed might help.
Whatever the case, you need to try and get your phone into download mode to reflash the original firmware. Press VolumeUp + VolumeDown + Power whilst the phone is switched off. Then press VolumeUp at the warning screen. Does that work? If it does you might be in luck, follow the unbrick tutorial here.
Bro we don't have ics how come jelly bean...u try to install stock rom through download mode using Odin. And later u can install any custom roms u want.

First using version 1 Odin3, is not ideal for this Device, second you should use CF rooting kernel based on the ROM you had on your Device.
The Best way to do it, follow this and flash the Gingerbread JVU ROM on it and after that the Rooting kernel.
Before doing this, save all your data to your PC first , just use USB storage mode and Copy everything to PC first as flash a ROM would erase all your data
