Swagbucks - Off-topic

I've been meaning to upgrade my micro sd card for some time, but haven't had the spare money to do so. Thanks to swagbucks, I can. Swagbucks.com is a search engine that pays you to use it! It gives decent results suitable for anything i need except when I'm using certain codes such as "site:www.xda-developers.com crawler9" to find anything about a particular topic (me) on a particular site. Anyway, you can run searches the way you normally would, and you win swagbucks occasionally for doing so. I have cashed in this week for several Amazon gift cards amounting to $70 I am putting towards a Lexar 32gb micro SD card. I'm attaching a picture of my rewards page as proof that swagbucks is not a scam. If anyone decides to join, please sign up using my referral link.

Eventhough this is not a scam, this breaches rule 11.

How cheap for a 16GB TF card in the UK!?

Too good to be true?
£18 delivered in the UK...
He must be good, someone who bought one just after midnight this morning has left feedback before 10am!
Seriously tempted, with Paypal chargeback protection...
ETA: Having reread the auction, this is very odd: "ALL SERIOUS BUYERS PLEASE LEAVE POSATIVE FEEDBACK DIRECTLY AFTER BUY OR I WILL REFUND THANKYOU" hmmm, definitely seems to good to be true!
sounds like a con. people leave feedback then pron dont recieve the item and cant leave bad feedback making more and more people get coned.
i would not risk it
I've risked it!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=260380788555
When I asked him he said he'd sold an iPhone and lost £400 "due to the feedback being stupid".
He's refunded me and cancelled the auction. Some people are no fun.
Who'll be the first to give him some feedback on that one...
he might be doing this to get good feedback.
they refunding u so u dont complain to ebay, then later when he has a lot of feedback try and con someone by selling something or a couple of big things (ps3, cameras, laptops, phones etc) and getting the money and running.
paypal will prob pay some of it back but he will get away with it as only needs fake address and after con cancel card
If that is his plan, he's not that smart about it.
He will have paid fees on all the listings and sales which add up (and I am not going to let him claim them back easily if he tries as he is a non-performing seller).
Better still, his email address has his own domain, a whois on that reveals his name address and telephone number (I don't think he is smart enough to fake them).
He's just had a neg from someone over an iPhone, and positive FB from a memory card buyer, so I don't know if they are happy to have been refunded or are trying to get the sale to keep on track.

there are very stupid people trying to make quick money that, hes just trying to get feedback.
the costs wont worry him if he trys to sell lots of big items. (there was one person sell 6 nokia n95 a while back at £300 a pop. got the £1800 and then canceled the card and ran).
@Grayme,
By accident I found you here. Just wanted to say ´Hello´! It´s a long time ago, since we played with SRS´s TodayPlus...

16GB TF Card
be careful!
it must be a scam!
I searched 16GB TF card on Google and MSN for a long time, the average price is further higher than it! and the lowest one is:

I think US$63~US$80.00 is reasonable.

Maximum supported Micro SD Memory on the Wing?

I'm about to get a Wing, it seems like a really fun phone to play around with, but I want to know what's the maximum sd memory i can put in to this phone if there is a limitation
dronzer,
The wing is a fun phone to play around with. Especially with the continued efforts of Trib here in the Herald development thread, you can really have your pick of the latest builds in most configurations.
As far as MicroSD is concerned, I can tell you that I personally use an 8gb so I know it is capable of that. I have yet to try a 16gb card so if anyone else has had any luck, I would be curious to see the result.
ahh that's great to hear I wanted at least 8gb ^^ also do you or anyone else happen to know if i buy the wing would i have to buy any other kind of services? (I'm on Tmobile and currently on Text msg unlim) I plan on using wifi to get on the internet and i know Wing doesn't have 3G, but i was wondering if i need to purchase additional plans. thanks in advance to anyone who can help out!
If you buy the phone outright (full retail), or find one used, then just swap the sim cards and you are good to go. If you need to sign a contract to get a deal on the handset then you are subject to the terms of whomever is still selling it. I am sure you could find one used or refurbished for a reasonable price no matter where you are. If you haven't already done so, check out the marketplace which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=476
Heck, I am sure if you posted in this Herald section that you would like to buy a wing, someone may surprise you with an offer. Just be cautious and carefull if buying from a stranger online in any format.
65 dollars (shipping included) good deal for the wing? i see one on ebay
16gb works fine.

Crappy replacment policy - Advanced Replacment Only

Why is Google forcing advanced RMA's where they put a temporarily hold? Why cant it be that you send the device back they receive it and once it's cleared you get a replacement and you only get a advanced replacement if you ask for it or be presented the option to choose.
The email I was sent has the advanced replacement only with no other options!
Even if I return the device first and they say it's cleared and I click the order link there will still be a temporary charge! Why cant they update the link to be $0.00 to get a replacement and not ask for any card details? Before this happens they send you an email saying Good news your return was processed. Click here to receive your replacement free.
The policy is great for those who can put money on hold but what about those that cant or don't have the funds to back it. What. Are they forced to return the device to get a replacement?
They figure that everybody can put 200$ in funds on hold for a week with no other options expect to return it?
I also noticed that google isn't handling the returns. It appears SMS Infocom Corp is handling them out of Texas? What if they screw up and said that it's your fault so your charged for the new device?
Additional charges up to the full price of your device will be incurred if our service center determines that the damage to your original device isn’t covered under warranty. Prior to ordering your replacement and sending your device for inspection, please refer to the warranty card in the Nexus 7 packaging or visit www.asus.com for details on the ASUS limited warranty.

Then you have to dispute it with Google or file a charge back. Wonderful
Most businesses give you the two options. The standard one that I just mentioned or the advanced replacement if they offer it.
This is bull**** IMO not allowing both options and only the advanced replacement. Even the rep on the phone at google said it was crappy. I'm serious.
I do not have the 200$ in my account to back the temporary authorization
So do I have to return it for a refund to get a replacement?
Actually it is a great policy, well at least for those of us with credit cards that aren't maxed out.
I like not having to wait the additional time it takes to send the defective unit back before getting a replacement shipped out.

Well that's the problem. It works for some people that are able to do so. What about the others that cant? Then it's horrible for those that cant.
Why didn't they have both options and give you the choice?
I'm still awaiting a email from Google about it.
Seems like I'm forced to return it for a refund to a replacement.
It is logistically easier to do it the way they are doing it... Quite different if you are dealing with a brick and mortar shop, just go in and exchange it. No risk of having extra hardware floating around.
As for having a third party company to deal with the returns is not all that unusual. A lot of companies do that.
Not sure how many people would buy a Nexus if their card(s) were maxed out.
Did you call Asus, see which options they have.

If they wanna hold another $249 from me that's fine. I also buy things when I know I have room on my credit card as well as my bank account.

Alot of people used bank accounts and not credit cards. Why are people getting the notion that everybody has a credit card they can use to back it?
See that's the problem. Makes it easier for them but harder for those who cant put a temporary charge.

I'm tempted to just say screw it and keep it an deal with it due to the policy. If it breaks then deal with Asus down the road.

Debit cards are really handy, the merchant pretty much sees them as the same, but in fact they are not.
Debit card only deals with CASH in your bank. When it is put on hold that CASH is on hold. Credit cards put holds on available Credit, Not Cash unless you are using a pre-paid credit card which is really more like a Debit card.
You don't have the same protections buying with a Debit card as you do with a Credit card, the first being, they didn't get your CASH, they are only putting a hold on your Credit. If you can't afford the CASH, you shouldn't be using it.

Yeah. They figured everybody has a credit card or bank accounts with the cash to temporarily fund it?
Still BS imo that they don't have the other option. I may be forced to return it for refund or deal with it as is. I figured they would give you both options.

I'm hoping they can do what I said in the first post and honestly I see no reason why they wouldn't unless there system doesn't work.
I'm awaiting another reply form upper Management i guess about this.

A strange elitist comment, so this guy paid in full for a tablet but in order to get a warranty replacement he should have calculated in double the price of the tablet, before he even purchased the tablet?
Went through the RMA process and it came off as Google was not quite sure how to handle advanced replacements, the whole emailing me a special link to buy a replacement tablet as it were. Was completely half ass'ed, they already have mine/our billing info why not just do anything with anyone's money after a tech has gave it once over

Thank you this is exactly my point.
This is going to probably be my first and only purchase for a google device form the google play store. Why is there no standard replacment like any normal company does such as Evga for example or a online retailers such as Amazon newegg etc.
What is up with the advanced link?
I hate to say it but my Dad just pointed out that something is shady about this only giving you this one option. What scares me the most is the following

I've never had to return my asus laptop and netbook to them since I have warranties with best buy but I really haven't heard a lot of good things with asus and their warranty. Personally that's why I'm sticking with google at the moment. My original was epic screen lift and I got replacement on friday and haven't hardly used it between friday and saturday due to work and it has a dead pixel and something is rattling around near the top. I'd rather have Google 2 day me a new one then wait god knows how long for asus.

Ever hear of money orders., paying by cash as in waiting until you can walk into a store and buy one. You are wrong, there are many options starting with take your business elsewhere.
By the way I would be careful suggesting something is shady that is pretty much a common business practice.

So, if I have to RMA, I have to have an additional $199 for the tablet on a credit card? I thought the policy was for Google to try to take the additional money AFTER the amount of time has passed that they didn't receive the tablet back (21 days?).
It's going to be real tricky trying to keep $200 on a card... especially since bills and stuff usually take my card below $200 each month. But then again, I guess I can hope to have a flawless device

So it's common for businesses to force you to do an advanced replacement with no other options when 10 other businesses I've dealt with offer what I'm saying?
So in your option you should have double the cost of an item on your card before you buy it for this very reason?
Let me make it very clear
NOT EVERYBODY HAS A CREDIT CARD OR $200 IN EXTRA MONEY THEY CAN PUT ON HOLD FOR THE NEXT WEEK AND A HALF!!!
WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT
DO YOU BUY PRODUCTS AND SAY THAT YOU NEED DOUBLE THE AMOUNT ENCASE THE PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE? NO!
SERIOUSLY!

They're not "taking" your money. They're putting a temporary authorization of the amount of whatever account you're using for the replacement (such as a bank account, credit card, etc.) Once they receive the defective tablet within 21 days and make sure it's all good then they'll take that temp authorization off your account. But if it's not returned to them within the 21 days that's when I believe they can charge you.
This will explain it more too

Yea well sorry to burst your bubble but the minute you ordered your tablet and an email was sent to you saying thank you for your purchase they provided the link to their devices support. So from that moment they laid out the whole process of how this would work. Now whether or not you read it well that was your choice but all that information was there and just didn't mysteriously show up.

Whoops I ordered an extra Nexus 4! (not really but some of you did)

I was thinking we could have a thread where people posted if they had accidentally ordered an extra Nexus 4 8gb, 16gb, or case and could let people know they were interested in passing it along to some of us less fortunate forum goers for a reasonable price.
I was fortunate enough to get an 8gb nexus 4, but alas no bumper case, so if anyone accidentally ordered an extra please PM me and I'll gladly paypal $25 for it.
2 extra 8gb Nexus 4
I was trying for 2 of the 8GB Nexus 4. Amidst the server error mess, I think my attempts at ordering were processed twice so I might be getting a total of 4.
I'd be willing to keep the last two and sell them here. PM me with offers.
If anybody has a spare 16GB in Germany, deel free to contact me
Didn't manage to get one
Anyone have an extra 16GB one in the US?
Help out a tech savvy hobo with one leg and no head from Netherlands, with a spare 16gb N4. Pretteh please!?
I wish i could get one, i hope the gone a come back real soon.
it's look like we become Fanboy's, waiting outside the store to get a new phone.
i got an 8g n4 but i think i'd like to trade for a 16 gb n4, let me know if anyone is interested, only local meet up in toronto

They didn't know how many people have been wanting out of there contracts. This is just reflecting how us Americans feel about contracts and over priced cell phone bills.
Why pay 120 a month for a cell phone bill. I can just use Simple mobile or Straight Talk and pay 55 buck for unlimited internet and phone calls.

I'm curious to see how it goes with anyone who uses linux to format the sdcards. I would test, but I'm on vacation, and while I have my laptop, I do NOT have the sdcard (came the day after I left home for a month).
If anyone can test, it'd be great.
The free 128gb card, right?
I can't get mine to mount at all.
The phone says it's either empty or unformatted, asks to format it, tries, and fails. I don't have an SDXC reader to try to format it with the computer.
I just did a chat session with T-mobile, and they referred me to LG's support line...
I'm having a load of other issues as well that I'll put in a separate thread. I'm really not happy with this phone.
Have you tried contacting SanDisk for warranty exchange directly? It might be smoother going through manufacturer than retailers/partners. Maybe they will accept promotion status page as proof of purchase.

Wow mine works fine didn't have to format or anything. SanDisk is usually very reliable. I would most definitely be pissed and would contact both T-Mobile and LG. Especially since it took so long to get I really feel for ya.
I just used my phone to format the SD card before I started using it. Haven't had any issues.
Well here it is boys.
Contacted SanDisk about the defective cards, was told they are not authentic... both of my 128GB are not authentic.
Based on the pictures you provided, we have determined that this is not an authentic SanDisk retail brand product. Please contact the seller to return it and request a refund.
We can also forward your request to our Brand Protection team so they can investigate and take action against the seller.
Please attach the following additional information in response to this message to assist with our investigation:
Invoice from the seller
Clear Pictures of the product (front and back)
Clear Pictures of packaging (front and back) if available
Please note that the best way to ensure you are purchasing an authentic SanDisk product is to buy from an authorized SanDisk reseller. You may view our distributor/reseller list to locate an authorized SanDisk reseller in your area:

SanDisk does not make non Ultra 128GB microSD cards. We got fakes boys
I highly doubt that LG and T-Mobile are sending us fake products. Have SanDisk to forward your message to brand protection team. It could be OEM product that LG pulled from their warehouse.
Just like external HDD. Serial number on the case and the drive usually don't match. If you crack open and submit RMA on the drive alone, they won't see it as authentic.
I won't jump to the conclusion that we got fakes just yet.

if you go to your promotion web page where you submitted your form, there is FAQ
Where can I reach out to if I have any questions regarding this promotion?
You can send your inquiry via email to [email protected] or call
1-800-793-8896.
by the way, both of my 128GB SD card they gave me are superb.
Do not call 1-800-793-8896 as that's just LG's regular support line, they have no clue about the promo. The promo team is a contractor and not employed by LG. LG support will just put you on hold and then just tell you to email the promo team.
Email [email protected] and politely explain the issue. My promo battery arrived dented (since they threw it into a pouch with the charger that pressed into it during shipping), so I sent them a picture and an explanation and they shipped me another one for free, didn't even ask for the dented one back. Just be polite, it goes a long way.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you however the cards being used by you are OEM grade cards and do not look like Retail grade cards. As of now I would request you to try formatting the cards using SD Formatter and if that does not help you may get the cards replaced from the place of purchase as the process of replacement may be faster with the original seller or you can reply to this email and we will replace the cards with Retail Ultra 128 GB Micro SD cards. Please refer to the link mentioned below to download SD Formatter.
Got an RMA setup for both cards from SanDisk.

Doesn't SanDisk supply codes with their products that let you know if it's genuine or not? I bought a 16GB ultra 10 not so long back and it's been flawless, I'm sure it came with a little piece of paper with a genuine code thing on it? Or was that Spigen? I forget, lol.
