Hello..

So..Im a member for a few weeks now and learned alot..
Its a shame microsoft orded XDA to remove the ROMS..That was one of the best thing of XDA..
btw; does anybody know where ROMS are still available? pm
So..let me introduce myself.. im 19 years old, It did a study in the IT-Branche hardware/software (that I passed *diploma* but stopped after that it was to boring and nerdy) Now I do a Fashion marketing/sales study. But still very interested in technique. So I learn fast when it comes to technique.
What are my goals here at this site?
TO READ/LEARN & hope to bake/cook a ROM (what is not very easy for a starter *READ: PPC is a new platform for me*).
So..thats it..hope I didn't bored you..

ok first thing...i swear this is not about me (believe me or not...its not bout' me) my friend likes this chick, he really likes her but she doesnt like him but they are friends and talk and wutever but she doesnt like him like that. I told him to let it go and just stop messin' wit her so he doesnt think bout her, he isnt the most social person but he wants to ask her out (i said no) wut would u do in his situation? (i kno every ones gonna be like thats a personal problem and blah blah blah, just wanted some input on this...other opinions dont hurt)

Very simple... you video the car crash as it happens then upload to YouTube later for all to see.
of course, if he's serious, there's always rohypnol, of course, when she wakes up, she might want to know why she has carpet burns on her chin

I wonder if this guy is one of those guys that are perpetually the "friend". One of those guys that girls like to chat too, but only as a friend. They'd never look at him romantically in any way.
My advice...move on. There's other hot chicks out there to ask. Find one, ask and if she says no, she's not good enough for you. Her loss. Keep head up and move on till the fish bite.
That's my two cents anyways.

perfect answer, that's the only way. This happened thrice to me, i was totally lost until i recognized that there's more to life than focussing on what will never be. Interestingly, one of them changed her mind a few days after i got another girl ...
... and the answer is: MOVE ON ...

Good advice is still good advice.

I think no need to run after one girlfriend. Yes, you need to achieve, but you need to understand a categorical refusal. Therefore, I suggest trying again, but if it doesn’t work out, you should look for a new girlfriend.

Wedding and phone dream

So I'm getting married in 2 months and I'm a T-Mo rep so in essence I live and breath phones. It's just my thing I've been a phone nerd since I started working at T-Mo and got my first Dash. So I was taking a nap before I needed to head to work this afternoon and had a crazy ass dream. I dreamed about my wedding. At some point I was talking with the preacher who is to officiate the wedding and he told me I couldn't get married because he doesn't do 2.1 weddings. My immediate reaction was in shock asking him why he wasn't compatible with Google's Android 2.1 build and if I really had to revert to 1.6 to have the wedding done. Yeah I know weird but I woke up laughing and realizing I might have a problem..

oh she is very aware of it. She wanted to buy a Cliq when she last had an upgrade and I refused to let her get a phone that has practically no real devs supporting it and got her a MT3G instead. She came home last night around 10pm and asked if I'd eaten I replied with "no" and her immediate response was, "well you could always eat one of your phones, they got that donut, eclair stuff on them, right?"

Highschool is the best thing ever!!!!

Well i started highschool 2 weeks ago and i was kinda nervous. Everyone always talked about the freshman getting picked on and everything else but that dont happen. Its awesome theres so many hot girls to look at and talk to and the food is great(compared to the middle school). Just thought id tell you guys and any other freshman that are nervous about starting. The only bad thing is that i cant spend near as much time on Xda or on my phone anymore flashing new roms/radios and trying to find the perfect theme...

lol Youngin'. Live it up, but just don't become like the rest of the highschool kids these days and have 2+ kids before you graduate. lol.

high school was ok, i just graduated. if i were you, because you look like a freshman, i would stay low until you grow up a little

I was thinking of doing it next year. I already missed tryouts but I was sick, so idk.

I would do it next year if i were you. It will give you time to grow, practice and get stronger. If your serious about playing football start working out everyday and after you workout put some protein powder in your drink and you will grow muscles faster than you can blink haha...but that stuff is some of the worst stuff i have ever tasted thats the only bad thing.

u can buy flavored ones , basically its like hot chocolate but its cold
also , working out every day isnt gonna do good cuz u grow when u rest , and if u dont give it time to rest ... well yea
3-4 a week is good
also , steroids do kick ass but u got lotsa time on ur hands dont get too desperate to do that (yet)

I didn't mind high school as bad as jr.high..Hated jr.high.
I graduated in '04 and freshman getting picked on was the norm..Hell, still is there. Glad your one of the lucky kids that dosen't have to worry about it..lol
I realised that high school was like jail..Keep your head up and your mouth **** and you'll be ok.. Start messing with the jocks women and you WANT be ok..lol

So we had another fight about me spending too much time playing with and talking about android and phones. As long as cellphones don't come up in conversation we were the happiest couple in the world. But I finally broke up with her because I couldn't even think about android without her getting mad at me. And I figured I would just find a girl that shared my interest. But I just realized that there are ZERO females(at least in the state of alabama) that even know what android is. Should I quit looking now? Does anyone have any advice to find them(if they exist that is)?

Sorry you think I'm a noob, but I can control myself enough to not talk about it, but WHY should I? I'm going to look for a girl with common interest, and if I don't find anyone I will suppress my techie talk. Well my friend, it's time to negotiate . I did this with my wife, I agreed with her that I will spend some hours a week to be on the web and xda of course (while she's around). So both of us are happy since I comply with the terms when she's around ....but she's not always around you know.

Yes, time is not equal my girl says...
Anyway we should re negotiate a new way if possible

But I didn't have to call her, she called me and we came to a compromise. She said if I would buy her that "nexus thingy" and actually "teach" her what I was talking about, she thinks she would really enjoy learning about it. And in my mind it wasn't a compromise, I got exactly what I wanted..... oh wait I just spent $500 on an N1

I'm going to be frank. Return that N1. The relationship is now headed in the wrong direction for the wrong reasons.
In your future relationships, if you're with your girl, be with your girl. Learn to compromise. Your partner's reaction to the particular behavior (i.e., dealing/talking Android) is ultimately just a natural reaction towards the frequency in which you exhibited it (i.e., excessively). Imagine if your partner asked you to accompany them to go shopping every day of the week for at least 3 hours each day. While you guys are shopping, she'll talk to you about every brand, and fashion, etc. Should she leave you because you aren't interested in her interests?
Your Android fetish is a hobby. There are more important things in life that you should be paying attention to. I'm not saying this girl is -the- one you'll be with for the rest of your life, but things like growing and improving social skills should take greater precedence than learning and keeping what's up with the latest and greatest on Cyanogen mods.
Take my advice for what it's worth to you. Just remember, at the end of the day, it's just a phone.

You telling me that it's not about ROM or tweaks and that it is actually about the future of technology is really a bad attempt at justifying your hobby. This is even illustrated by the following clause when you feel the need to garner further support of your hobby by amassing the opinions of your fellow XDA members.

I usually dont talk about phones when Im with my girl... hell I've even visited xda less, since Im in a normal relations (not those in which I have to be responsible for everyf**king thing.. - had one of those about a year and a half ago)
anyways - just find something to talk about that is interesting for both of you + keeps your mind off the phones...
or if you can't you can get yourself off the xda, or you can always ask someone to ban you.. just kidding

so basically she had the bravery to say : $500 fone or no sammiches
