First of all, my apologises, if this has been already posted on the Nexus One Dev site. If so, Please feel free to close thread.
Now to the point, just ran into this post on the main XDA pade and already see people talking about it in the Incredible/Evo 4G/Xperia X10 forums.
Here is the main link for the dump:

I am wondering if this can be ported to my beloved Nexus One?
Obviously, after one of you amazing dev's get to touch, tweak, twist, and make it touchable for us common folks.
Thanks in advance,
CG.
OMG I really thought someone build this port
Your post will be moved in 5,4,3...
Haha. Sorry, I was at work, and should have posted this in the QnA. Now that I see it, I do feel stupid.
Anyways, I agree with you too. I hope someone does do something with this.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Been waiting for such a thread to be started, but none as yet, so decided to give this a bump.
Off late we have some Incredible development in the IS scene with alpharevx and all the ROM development.
Firstly, here is a super huge thank you from me (and all of us) who have benefited from the hard work & interest by all the developers. Thank you guys!
Our mobile lives would not have been half as interesting without all your efforts.
Appreciate & highly grateful.
Well, now back to topic.
Could we have a comparison of the ROMs for the lay man, the general public, the noobs and the not-so-noobs?
We could pay attention to simple concepts such as
-what is available and what is not in each rom,
-performance,
-UI & visual appeal
-anything else that you would like to mention
There are a few great ROMs out there and each of us have our favorites, so let's hear why you love the rom you using!
Wow!
This is a dud int it!
No one wants to share their preferences?
here is a Cyanogenmod 7 vs android revolution from the desire hd forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125348
I like your idea. I hope this thread will takeoff. Give it time
I don't know what I did wrong but when I installed cynagen 7 mod my phone clonked out on me looked great but when awnsering and making a call I could not here them and they could not hear me so unless there is a way to fix that I give it a thumbs down but I'm a noob at android so please don't flame me just my opinion

Sounds like you don't have the correct Radio installede.
It's recommneded to use 3805.04.03.22_M with CM7 for the IncS.
Oh wow that's cool thanks does your region matter for the radios as I live in Canada

I think radio will depend on your base rom

Hey guys,
Thanks to Paul O'Brien over at MoDaCo we now have a full system+recovery dump of the Galaxy Nexus running Ice Cream Sandwich.
http://android.modaco.com/page/news/_/android/04-nov-icl23d-galaxy-nexus-boot-recovery-r51
This is really cool.
Wow, hopefully now developers can create ICS inspired custom roms. Cheers!
there's like 10 of these over at the dhd section lol
No ... This is a system dump from the phone ... Not an SDK dump ... This good ...

Where did you hear this?
These are the files you need to port a device. They need to be altered severely to run on the incs. Extreme development knowledge is needed to make use of this. However a developer could grab bits and pieces from it if they have greater knowledge in one area than another.
The ics update will be coming to this and many other htc devices as stated yesterday to myself in a bell store by an htc rep.

but it won't come anytime this year, probably end of Q1 or Q2 2012.

incredible s is abandoned already i think lol
if it comes to sensation xl, with has almost same specs, just better cpu, it will be for sure ported to incredible s (if htc doesn't release it officially)

You guys are reading into this way too much.
All they did was give a few obvious ones that would get the upgrade. They never said the rest of their products weren't.
What developers can do with this?

Let me quote myself:
"Right now[...]"
You see? I'm talking about what they've said so far, but what'll happen in the future; sorry, I can't tell and therefore I won't do anything else then hope that HTC will give us an official update to 4.0.
But from what Google said when they showed 4.0, I think that it'll come to the IncS. Sometime.
And to your last part; no, they didn't.
"We’re continuing to assess our product portfolio, so stay tuned for more updates on device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Ice Cream Sandwich."
From the same link that I linked in my previous post. So, I'm fully aware of the fact that this only seems to be a preliminary statement from HTC.
Is there any custom ICS roms? sorry for sounding stupid but I cant find any.
Seems like there are 2 available and the developers have moved away from xda. One is made by Pirateghost and called Rum Float: http://blog.androidninjas.com/rom-dev/htc-vivid/rum-float/
The other is made by WildChild and you have to register to see the vivid section here: http://www.wcxxperia-nce.com/
Anyone tried these custome ROMS?
Hey, has anyone tried these custome ROMS, I would like to get something without AT&T apps included......
wildchild has a generic one that has all the att stuff removed

Hi xda,
It would seem that I've jumped into this a little late, but what happened to make all the cooks leave xda and ignore the Vivid, Velocity etc.
Sorry but I've been away from xda for about 12 months while living in Blackberry-land.
I'd really like an ICS ROM for my Velocity without HTC's bastard 'Sense' bloatness.
Also - is getting root access to the Velocity as easy as it was for the HD2?
Cheers;

CM9 port is being worked on. Check the dev thread. Other than that, there are Sense ICS ROM's available, just not many here.. at this point.
As far as what happened, no need to stir up bad memories Look through some of the threads from last month and you'll figure it out. In the mean time, follow the golden rule, and the rules of the forum, and maybe they'll start trickling back in

Is anyone able to upload a screenshot of this? I'd be really interested to know if there is a sense 3.5 or 3.6 running on top. If not - hells yeah PirateGhost! I hate Sense!!!

I am using Wild Childs at&t build of ics. It is awesome! He did an outstanding job with the rom. Silky smooth, looks like stock without the bloat! Plus with the mods here in the forums like extended menu, signal icon changer, and some other mods you can't beat it. This phone rocks hard!

Then why an HTC? Just curious..
Because the majority of samsungs and other brands embarrass android and apple still feels outdated and something for social status?

IMO its the lesser of all evils. Every brand has their own "skin". So even if you prefer AOSP, you might as well get the brand with the best looking and best functioning skin. Of course there is the nexus phones, but those aren't for everyone.

Agreed. I just don't know that I could talk myself into the investment of a device that runs software that I hated, with the possibility of not be able to change it. Granted there are things being worked on now (CM9), but let's be real, this phone was released in November and to this point we haven't seen anything Sense-less (for reasons beyond the dev's control - just got kernel source 10 days ago fcs), it would be very tough for me to buy the device at this point if I hated Sense . I don't know how long shayla's had theirs though...
Hi guys
I'm very new to the android world, but I'm buying a HTC One soon.
But I have an important question to ask.
If HTC would release a HTC Two later with Sense 6, would the current HTC One be upgraded to that new version of Sense or is that impossible?
Thanks
Matt
Sure, it's one of HTC's best phones. Of course they'd update it

Awesome!
Another great reason to own an HTC one.
Thanks guys!
Chances are, we will get six officially and maybe seven or whatever it will be if we're lucky. If we don't a dev will probably port it back for us.

It's nice to see that this will be future-proof.
One final question
How can I rename this thread to make it "Solved"?
I can't seem to find any "Edit thread" button (or I'm looking over it)
No one can answer that question except HTC themselves. Hopefully we will, though.

I just bought this phone and am coming from the att one x. I hate sense 5 and would much rather be running a Rom with sense 4. Are there any roms for this phone that are sense 4?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, feel free to move it. Can anyone help me out this?
Thanks,

That's what I was looking for, but I really wanted one that worked with all the HTC one hardware, and one that's still being supported. :/
Thanks though,
You will most likely not find one that is still supported as it is obsolete.
