I recall seeing a hack somewhere which allows changing the font size or line height on the DHD. I've searched the forums and google and couldn't find it again.
There was a before and after picture with the after showing more menu options on a single screen. I believe the value of the setting was 200 or 220.
It's LCD Density for Root. You can find it in the market.

Ah yes. That's the one. Thanks!
I have an app called spare parts in CM7 on Nook Color, in which I can go and change font size, but the font size reset after I reboot again. Is there a way to make the font size permanent and persistent across reboot sessions?

Sorry for bump, but it would be great for me and others eyes, if someone knows to permanently increase font size.

I know two ways to do this. One is LCD Density for Root, free in the Android Market.

This isn't truly permanent, but is a good place to start.
Once you figure out what resolution works best for you, then you can make permanent change to the resolution in the build.prop file. 200 works well for me.
Note that changing the resolution changes a lot more than just the font size.
Well this is not what in my mind, lcd density will just scale everything including icons, status bar, etc. I just want to increase the font size permanently like spare parts application.

Hey guys,
I've tried to change my density with lcd density changer (phone is rooted). After restart I've got a bricked phone which I was able to recover.
So I was wondering if there is any possibility to change the density, because 240 is to much for me
Greetings Nico

hi, i do manually, root the phone, then with a root explorer or es explorer go to /system and search a build.prop, open it and search a line "ro.sf.lcd_density=240" and modify, be careful because its a start-up file
if you have a lg home, its no compatible with other resolutions, i recommends adw home
regards
You can use a App called LCD Density Change or another called LCDDensity
You need root on phone and busybox.
I don't understand the meaning of change the LCD density... can you explain it to me?

LCD Density controls the resolution of the screen. Smaller density means Bigger resolution and Bigger density Smaller resolution.
Yeah, the question is why anybody want worse resolution in a lcd.
As far as I know, lcds are optimized to native resolution, and using other doesn't offer the same quality.

It's supposed to make your LCD look better.
I've tried it on Wildfire before, it does help a little if your screen res is really low.
But on OB, i think it's already good enough.
I've set my resolution from 240 to 170 because I needed 6 lines and rows on my launcher an I really don't like the huge icons an fonts on 240 resolution
Help Please

I seem to have bricked my phone after changing my density too. How were you able to recover. When the device is on, it doesn't recognize correctly in Windows. I can't seem to boot into recovery. Not able to view device as a hard drive. Any advice? Thanks.
I'm using 200 on Zeus right now, font and icon is too big on 240

Use lcd density modder pro from play.
I'm using the pro version because Google play would have compatibility issues if i wouldn't :what:
So if you want to change use that one
LCD Density Modder Pro: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.birdapi.android.dpipro
Boot in recovery usind adb
(Search how to)
Or reflash everything as if it was new

I keep reading about 240 dpi or 320 dpi... whats up with that? and how do I check it/ change it?
It means Pixel Density of your screen.. Dots per inch
The lower it gets from your standard screen DPI value, the smaller the icons and things become in the UI..
Its like increasing the resolution of the screen like you do in your PC/Laptop Monitor Display..
320 is mostly the HD displays 1280x720
240 is i guess for a qhd res 540x960
and as far as I knw 160 is the DPI most tablets has..
You can alter it by an app like LCD denity changer/modder..
Hope It Helped, Hit thanks if it did
Hi,
I tried to change the resolution in brave frontier (game) and it only works for the DPI. I don't think the res was changed. Anyone has the solution
