[Q] Getting Zero signal strength constantly after hard reset - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy GT - I9000 phone from US for use in India. Soon after purchase, I inserted my SIM - it worked perfectly, I could send and recieve calls and access data connection. However, I was facing a problem where in I could not register my google account - I searched several forums, which suggested hard reset and which I did.
But after hard reset, I am getting zero signal strength constantly. I have confirmed that phone was unlocked when I bought and is even unlocked now. I do see my network operator name when I pull down the notification window from the top bar. However, the blue zero signal strength constantly appears. I have tried following
1. Resetting network selection, searching networks.
2. Inserting, removing battery/SIM several times. The SIM works fine on other phones.
3. Confirming that phone is unlocked by pressing *#7465625#. All are showing off.

No Service. Help!

Hi, The phone icon at the top (next to speaker, battery, etc. icons) displays an exclamation mark (!), and when I tap it, it says 'No Service'. I clicked on Settings and went to the Network tab then clicked Find Network, but it still doesn't connect to any network. However, it still shows 3 or 4 signal bars when I tap it for the first time and then it brings up the larger icons, but it doesn't connect to the network.
I am on Orange UK, and the phone can connect to GPRS / 3G, but not to the actual network.
Sorry if anything is unclear btw
Thanks in advance
have you typed in the sim code?
Sorry, i'm not sure what you mean? I went into an Orange shop and he activated the Sim, and said it should be ready in 24 hrs, however it still does not work over 24hsr later.
any help for this?
i have the same problem...
sometimes i get reception, but only when the G-icon on top is not showing (but only H or E-Icon). I tried removing and disabling all 3G stuff, but still doesnt work.
Guys, any help?

[Q] Signal bars full but unable to call.

Hi
My I9000 sgs is currently showing full signal but whenever I make a call it just comes up with the message "Mobile network not available". Texts will not send either.
However I can still browse the internet (not connected to wifi) even though it says there is no internet connection, I just press ok and it continues to load up the page.
I have tried flashing various stock and custom firmwares, as well as trying various different modems.
I have unlocked the phone to see if it was just my orange sim but my o2 doesnt work either both have the same issue, both my sim cards are working in my friends sgs2.
I have also checked my imei number to ensure it wasnt blocked, its not.
I have now exhausted my knowledge and cannot find any solution after 2 days of googling.
I would be really grateful if anyone had any ideas on what else I could try.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Cannot connect to service provider (network unavailable)

Two days ago, out of a sudden my phone stopped connecting to the carrier (Rogers, Canada). I can't call, send text, or use data at all. When I go into Access Point Names, my Xperia Z shows the lterogers.apn installed. If I go into Service Providers I can see a list of Canadian networks, I've tried connecting to the LTE, 3G, and 2G networks of Rogers to no avail. Also, I tried my SIM in a Nexus 5 and it works, I also went to the company and there are no issues with my account at all. Any advice on how to solve this?

Hey guys
I'm having the exact same problem! Haver only had the phone a month - previous xperia z replaced due to sudden death - and then this morning I lost my mobile data connection, closely followed by my entire reception. I've repaired/reset the phone multiple times, all per Sony's instructions without any luck. Hoping someone around here has a fix for me!!! At the moment just bashing my head against the wall with this phone and its issues!

[Q] Htc One not able to connect to the Network

I have been using my Htc one from the past 2 years using the same sim card. Since i stay in India, the phone goes into roaming mode when you travel across states. So 10 days ago, i travelled to another state and my phone entered into roaming mode from then my phone cannot be connected to the network. I am unable to use the cellular services. Sometimes my phone works fine but the next minute, i loose the signal again. It is not in a stable mode, it keeps loosing and gaining the connection. Neither can i call nor i can text. If the phone gains signal, it happens only for a minute or two after that, it looses the network again.
My sim card is fine since i checked it in other phones. So the problem is with the phone or the sim tray.
What should i do?

Seems strange it happened after / during traveling
I have herd of others putting a piece of tape on the back of the sim to make it a little thicker. be careful doing this though the sim could get stuck in the phone permanently

SM-N950F 4G problem after last dec update

Hi guys, I have an issue with 4G after the last dec update. In 4G/3G/2G auto connect mode, usually the receiving data arrow ( v arrow below the 4G symbol in notification bar) gone missing and thus the connection got lost. Only transmitting arrow is visible (the ^ one). I have to wait for some minutes or turn to flight mode and back to get my data connection back.
In the beginning I don't really sure this issue is caused by the latest update, but after I tried nearly everything, including factory reset which is doesn't help, I think that the update is the problem.
I have tried my sim on another phone and it worked normally. I have tried another sim on my note 8 and it got the same problem.
Oh and this is only a 4G issue. My 3G works normally. And before the update, I never experienced this kind of problem.
Two of my friends got the same note 8 and one of them is also using the same carrier as me, but neither of them experiencing this issue.
Anyone can help?
Thanks in advance
I had this issue too, it seems 4g connection only got the problem...,
Problem solved, they replace my device
I have the same problem but seems like in a different way, when I got the phone first time I contacted my service provider to activate the 4G service cause it was inactive on my line due to provider's issues, anyway the phone worked on 4G for only 2 days, after that it kept working on 3G, I contacted the service provider many times but they have no issues with my SIM or handset.
I still don't know what is the problem, is it a hardware malfunction? Is it an installed app? Is it a Samsung Update? I don't know!
have tried getting a replacement sim card, I had same problem in the past and they had by mistake sent a sim that was not 4g, got replacement and problem solved
Well, the problem is that it worked at the fist time on 4G so the SIM was 4G not 3G, but I have just comeback from their store, at the first the technical support did something in their system and switched the phone to airplane mode then turn the network ON back and the deice worked on 4G but after a couple of minutes the phone switched to 3G without going back to 4G, then he advised me that this problem either a SIM or handset problem and it's always 90% SIM problem, so we changed the SIM card and the phone is working on 4G for around 30 minutes till now, I hope it will keep working on 4G
2 days and phone is still working on 4G, it was a SIM card problem
Aoa dear
I.have the issue of secure folder as its not there in my cell phone and when i install it from play store and open it but failed to open as it give the option knox mode failed
