Im on serendipity 5.10 and I flashed speedmod k13b using odin and k13c using sgs kernel flasher. I notice battery drains 1% every 10 min and charges up at the same rate. This did not happen when I originally flashed the first time (serene 5.10).

I will actually test it a couple days then I'll see.

6% an hour does not sound to bad for me ^^ but i highly doubt that it takes over 10hours to charge your phone

How are you gets getting such high battery life?
I went back to speedmod k13a cuz it seems to have better battery. From what I read, the kernel needs time to adjust after some flashes so let it charge/drain a couple days and it'll be better. I did that and i seem to have better battery.
Edit: not significant though. I'll test it more.

Is this idle drain?
all depends on your use and rom. I get about 1-2% drain per hour idle using whats in my sig along with juiceDefender to turn off data (cell and wifi) when not in use.

Get battery calibration off of android market (assuming you have root) then charge to the point that battery calibration says your battery is at 4200mV (full charge) and press the calibrate button. Unplug your phone and let it drain to the point that it shuts itself down, then charge completely to 100%.
Alrighty thanks.....seems like the battery might be crap.....doesn't last very long....

I got the extended battery off of amazon, and I get roughly 2 days of minimal usage, and 7 to 10 hours of heavy usage.. that's the 1930mAh battery, not the brick 3000 mAh. Lol
Ya I just ordered one cause I think this batt might be crap

Mine does it also, sometimes. I noticed that happen more frequently if i reboot the phone with quickboot, and not if I do a proper power off and power on.
Ya know my battery is fine from what I can tell

Yeah that's actually lower than normal. Batteries display their median voltages. A 3.7 volt battery fully charged is 4.2 volts, and completely drained (for my battery at least) is 3.2 volts. 3 volts is kinda low, but maybe you have a different phone model or battery.

hey guys, whats the best ics kernal ? , im experiancing really bad battery drain with the one im using atm
I've been usually both on demand and smartassv2 and can't really tell a difference. But both without any battery drain too. Maybe your drain is from elsewhere.

I some up this morning and saw my battery was at 88%, it has bin on charge all night how can I fox this so it charges to 100%?

"some up"? Ok... go to CWM->Advanced->Wipe Battery Stats ... if doesn't work, do a full wipe or reflash ROM, you are using...
Woke* auto correct lol, and o do this after every ROM flash and this wouldn't affect that anyway, its not done it before, only to 98% or something but I read that it does this it will reach 100% the stop charging to preserve the battery, but dropping to 88% is a bit extreme I think I'm losing like an hour of battery life

This is a calibration problem caused exactly by you wiping your battery stats, you need to leave them alone and after each flash do a full empty to full charge cycle so the stats can provide proper calibration statistics, I have never wiped battery stats in 2 years of owning my phone
I always do this after a wipe, wait till fully charged>wipe stats>discharge fully>recharge fully

Ok, I know the point you are making but I personally think it does more harm than good.... Does it drop straight down the moment you remove the charger?
I don't know if it might be a battery problem, or if the CM9 Nightly build I'm currently on holds a charge really well, but sometimes I charge my phone up to 100%, then after about 30 minutes of continuous, non-stop usage, the battery is still at 99%.
Is this odd behaviour or is it normal?

No it only charges to 88% unless I remove charger then plug it back in again then it will charge to 100%, I think its because the phone charges to 100% then drains then charges, but I think its failing to start charging once it drops to a certain limit (say 10%) so normally it would charge to 100% drop to 90% then charge to 100% so it doesn't damage the battery, but as I said I think its failing to start charging again so it just keeps falling... I need a fix for this? And yes it is a cm9 base

I've always been wondering: is it possible to "damage" the battery or lose some of it's juice by doing wipe battery stats to many times?
solved

Hi guys,
can you share your experience with original battery charging?
My exerience is 0,6% per 1 minute so theoretically from 10% to 100% it takes 2h 30mins.
Honestly, I consider it too long for a 1500 mAh battery :-/
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Mine lasts 20 hours of moderate usage.
Wifi always on, 2 hours of 3D games, 4 hours of Youtube videos, 1 hour of talk time. 6 hours of internet browsing. And rest is sleep

He was asking how long does a battery charge not how long does it last..
Mine charges from 0-100 in an around an hour... try it couple of more times, try different outlets (maybe it's power related), different charger maybe, and if it still persists take it back to service let them test the battery

Are you sure of reported 1h?
Btw, checking Galaxy S3 charging thread, you can find expressive differences!?
If it's really true, it would be interesting to check what stays in behind.

Yep, I've got it for a week, and it always charged in an hour give or take... Maybe I have the problem with the battery, cause I've experienced faster draining then you guys... I'll take it to the center to check the battery

Original charger gives 0.7A, so a battery of 1500 mAh is a little bit over two hours charge.
Yep, 2 - 2.5 hours.
I charge mine over night, but connected to a timer that turns off after 2.5 hours.
Took the phone to the center, it was some kind of hardware error, I got a new one with NFC (the old one wasn't NFC version)
Hi MalekoUK would like the name of that timer you mention, i could do with some app like that

Last night I charged my phone and unplugged it around 6:30 am, but used it for maybe 10-15 minutes total for some calling and light apps like iGag, but as you can see, Android OS drained almost 30% of the battery while the phone was idling.
What exactly is Android OS, because I can't find the exact apps which drained the battery so badly. Any apps or advices for detecting the troubled apps or an advice? Thanks guys. :good:
Try battery stats plus from Google Play.run it for while, it will calculate which apps are draining your battery most.
