Hello everyone,
I was just flashing to my latest ROM and after I wiped data/factory reset I accidentally formatted my SD card (clockwork v2.5.0.1) therefore deleting all of the zips I needed to flash I assume. Anyway, I went to where I usually would install zip from sd > choose zip from sd and it said no files were found. How can I fix this?
Okay I fixed it. Thread may be deleted

Hello all,
I am hoping to sell my Hero soon, and want to revert back to the stock Sprint ROM.
I am not sure how exactly to wipe all of my data from the device. Do I install ClockworkMod Recovery plus the ROM, install from the zip file and then format everything?
Will formatting my SD Card (where the ROM installation file will be stored) mess anything up? Or is it okay?
Any help would be appreciated,
Cazs
Just run the Sprint RUU to format everything from your phone. To wipe the SD card contents, just format the SD card.
prolly get more money for it rooted than u would stock
I have searched for a few hours and can't find anyone with a similar issue.
I have my 2.2 captivate rooted and unlocked with CWM and TB installed. Got the Cyanogen 7 zip install on my sd card.
Loaded CWM Recovery and backed up my rom.
Restarted and went to CWM to Install Rom from SDCard
It doesn't point to the SD card, however. It starts in the Internal storage, so i choose external_sd/ then the update file
it boots into recovery, formats the phone, but gives me the "No such File or Directory" message with the path set to SDCARD External SD Update.zip(Cyanogen install)
So it thinks my internal storage is my SD card?
So its pointing to the wrong directory, but i cant find an option anywhere to make it go through the right directory.... help?
sorry, mods please delete.
It is installable througn CWM,

Harder way:
Make sure you're running a Eclair/Froyo Firmware (2.1 or 2.2) and Eclair/Froyo Bootloaders!
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon (through ROMManager is easiest)

Click to collapse
Try taking out your external sd before you flash, and if you have anymore problems post in the CM7 Q&A thread
I tried to flash doc's V8 ROM but after all the wipes when i choosed "Instal zip from sd card" I got the error that no file found, and when I tried to reboot the recovery he said can't mount sdCard ... what should I do???
please I searched and did'nt know what to do ....
Can you get into download mode? If so you would be best to install a stock samsung firmware using odin , then root and start again.
Did that, again after flashed stock and wipe before installing the rom when I tried to choose zip from sd card, the same thing happend... "no files found"... what should I do??
have you copied the file to your internal sdcard?
To the Sdcard... after flashing stock rom and putting semaphore kernel I have the ability to install zip from sdcard , but if I wanna change the rom I should wipe the factory + cache + dalvik + format system... after I do the factory wipe, I can't Install anything from sd card, I get the error that no files found... what to do?
Tried something..
I tried just install zip from sd card over the stock 2.3.6 , I installed the Doc's Rom , and it works, but I didn't wiped anything... Is it ok?
Should I act diffrently ???
If it`s all working i would just leave it as is...it is good to wipe but not always needed . check that your cwm is the latest version or reflash another version through the app to see if that resolves your zip files not showing up .
I can install now zip from SDCARD but I think that If I would do a full wipe I won't be able to do that..
Hey Guys.
I'm in a bit of ****.
I did my first rom flash yesterday, and all worked well. However the system would reboot once every 12 or so hours.
I noticed when I did CWM Recovery 5.5, that the total data wipe failed, but I researched that it was an issue, and had been fixed in CWM 6.0
The rom description said that if a total data wasn't done, you would have problems.
So I flashed 6.0, and did the CWM Recovery again with all the wiping options, but when I went to 'install zip from sd card', the file wasn't there. I assumed that the contents of the card wouldn't move, or be deleted, but it obviously was.
Now when I followed the original guide on XDA, I did the backup as stated, but it must not have worked, as in restore it's telling me there's no backup file found.
So at the moment, all i'm getting is the Samsung Galaxy S3 loading screen, but it's not going beyond that.
All I can access is CWM, and the Downloading screen.
What can I do to get my phone accessible again?
Thanks
plug your phone to PC (with downloaded ROM)
go to cwm -> mounts and storage -> mount usb storage. Now you should see Phone SD card on your PC. Put ROM in main folder uplug and flash.
if it doesn't help you should flash via odin (at download mode) 3 file ROM (f.e. JW1) with pit512 and re-partition checked, then flash kernel with cwm and start fun with cwm flashing.
Keep your ROMs and gapps and kernels etc on microSD next time
I do that so when I flash a new ROM I just wipe and format everything. I know its not necessary to format SD, I just do it anyway to clean up folders from old apps etc.

My EMMC became corrupt I think after it tried to do an internal recovery.
Now the only thing that boots is a CWM recovery SD card. However I can not install any zips as it does not mount ext SD, nor internal SD cards. It does not mount Data, or System.
Not sure how to solve as it will also not boot a full SD Card image.
What are the next steps to solve? I assume getting the EMMC partitioned and recovery and boot put back on the device?
Saw a similar thread about the HD, but it only had a hard coded link for a hummingbird downloadable:
flashable_fix_bootdata-hummingbird.zip
Does someone have a link to the ovation equivalent?
Thanks,
Rick
i was having a problem installing cm13 as it kept rebooting to the recovery screen.
i wiped all the cache's and reinstalled everything multiple times.
Then i found out that the emmc was not the image that i needed and grabbed the newest nightly image.
i copied it to my sdcard as a zip and installed it as a zip along with my other zips from the recovery screen.
it now runs fine.
i hope this helps you.
Please give details
