I have a bricked HTC Dream and I would like to use it's screen/shell/whatever to fix a g1 with a cracked screen. Are the PHYSICAL aspects of both the G1 and the Dream the exact same? What I'm asking is can I buy an HTC G1 with a cracked screen and replace it with the screen that is in my HTC Dream? I'm talking BOTH digitizer AND LCD.
please, let me know!
Both are the same as far as I know. As I've done the same to fix my G1.

There is no such thing as "G1" -- that is just what brainless tmobile degraded it to. There is only HTC DREAM.
I was wondering if it was possible to take a silver Verizon HTC One and change the body to black. I was thinking if I found a way to purchase the body/case of a black HTC One, took the silver body/casing off and changed it for the black body, I might be able to have a Black HTC One on Verizon.
Does anyone know if this idea would work? From what I understand Verizon is not going to offer a Black HTC One when the Verizon store opens in a few hours. This would mean I need a black body/case from a phone on another carrier, I am assuming that the dimensions of the Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile HTC One's are all the same.

Good luck with that bro. You're gonna need it.
While its possible, you are seriously recommended not to tamper with the phone. Many people around here have destroyed their phones.
On the flipside, a few have reported it to be not that hard. I dunno.
There's some debate on hardware differences between devices from the various carriers (T-Mobile's has 1700MHz band, which the others lack and no one has been able to figure out how to activate it on non-TMO phones) but nothing that would affect the frame.
You can actually buy the housing fairly cheaply on eBay. Front and back housing runs about $40. Your main problem is going to be getting the phone open. HTC went out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to get into. There are no screws, the phone is held together by a very strong adhesive and some clips that aren't accessible from the outside. Opening it will also void your warranty.
This video will give you an idea of the level of work involved:

You can also take a look at the IFIXIT article. Google it for "HTC ONE IFIXIT TEARDOWN". I've tried to post the link, but i wasn't allowed to do that (10 posts limit)
You will need lucky and BALLS
edit: nevermind, didn't read closely enough.
I've cracked the screen on my One. I was just wondering if there were any instructions on how to replace the digitier floating around the interwebs. Can't seem to find any.
If anybody knows the method, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
I just did the same thing... Makes me sick. I can't find anything either. Its all one x and one s.

Never experienced it before on HTC One nor now on Butterfly S. Get it. You will have new found freedom. No more constant charging, beautiful 5 inch screen and very fast and smooth. No regrets at all...miss the tin can feel though.

I know, I saw it too. But I basically upgraded because I couldn't stand the battery life. I nearly fell out the chair when I saw 3200 mAh battery.
Send warranty for camera replacement
U should send ur phone for warranty. The camera is already spoiled and it need to be replaced. I replaced my and there is no more purple tint.
U can send your phone back to HTC in warranty
And your phone will be refurbished

What will they ask you for? How can you send to HTC Asia when they reject phones with built in batteries like the BS?
Hey, new to forum but ive been reading for a while. i have both the htc one m7 and an EVO, now the EVO doesnt run things quite as well despite its really customizable. When i presented my rooted EVO they decided to just let bygones be bygones with the cracked screen. I have the M7 and im curious as if there is and where any SOLID PRINT, not theories or "well when i..." i want to know, if I root my phone and it bricks or defects due to an OTA, can i get a sprint store rep to help me? And if my phone is all tricked out, and gets cracked are there any papers i can print and proof as to how they are required to assist me? I will root the **** out of my phone when i get an M8 but i want to know for preventory reasons.
