can someone help me on this one.

Is the installer in the form of a .cab file? I'm willing to bet that you're opening the CAB file on your PC and looking inside it, which isn't the way to go here. You're supposed to copy the entire CAB file across onto your phone then launch the CAB file from your phone to run the installer.
can anyone help us how to install zip apllication on x1?
it is very usefull to help people never use Winmo mobile before..
Do you mean zipped application?
First unpack .zip file on the computer.
You get .cab or .exe file.
Copy to the phone and click.
install total commander
open the zip by clicking on it
as you would a dir
copy out the cab
install it by double click

I don't think there is a phone that can use zipped files right out of the box, so you should first unpack the content of the zip, as you would do it on the PC.

pretty sure I've been opening ZIP files on my X1 via the default File Manager without any 3rd party software.
Although I'm guessing the original poster is getting confused between CAB and ZIP because Windows XP likes to treat them as the same.
I'v a question! Please help.
Well, if .zip file contain .cab or .exe then the procedure is lay down.
What in the case of zip files of theme or clock contain only .png file in that.
I mean, how to use such zips??
For more clarity to my question please check attachment enclosed & explain me, "In case I want to install that clock on my WM, how to proceed??"
Thanks in advance!!
You don't use the .zip, you have to copy those .png images into a specific folder.
Or maybe you downloaded the source images, i don't really know, i never installed a new clock theme or something.
Where do you have this file from?
First you need to download and install a file manger on your device (Es file Explorer worked well for me) on your nook.
After download the Asus Transformer dump V2 and unzip it.
You can find the link in the "Honeycomb SDK Port - The Return" thread
Go into system/app and find a file called Finsky.apk (that is the market). Install and your good to go.
Can u post the apk for those who don't want to download the whole system dump.
does anyone know if there is a apk file or something so i could flash the my files app on my cappy that usually come on the cappy with the official firmwares? i just need some kind of file to do that because i dont like astro and es file manager, etc. even a link to somewere where this has been done before would help, thanks.
I don't have an answer for you, just a recommended alternative in case you cannot find My Files.
I put Dual File Manager on every rom I try.
View attachment MyFiles.apk
here is
I promise nothing
ok mabye not, i meant a .tar file so i can flash with odin3
sorry about that
Why did you just open a new thread for that???
Take this apk and follow any of the ways i described in that thread....and in the future DON'T OPEN NEW THREADS FORE THE SAME THING!
sorry, then how do i do that with the apk file? like how do i make that a tar file or something to flash it with odin
Check your other thread...i listed 3 options.
I have followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166921 to try to install Touch on the p3113, but the device and ubuntu specific links are down. I have the device specific that I got from a mediafire link that someone posted on there, but people say that it might not work. I tried to search in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ and the old version, but I was out of luck as I could not find the "quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip" which is the ubuntu generic file. If I DID find a quantal folder in those archives, it would always be for the desktop. In the link to the ubuntu download page for that file, "cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/quantal/mwc-demo/quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip" You can see the "ubuntu-touch-preview" part of the link, which does not exist. I'm thinking that the people hosting the server have deleted the preview, for us to be left with only a "ubuntu-touch" folder which does not contain anything to do with quantal. May someone please reupload that file if you have it?
