When I put my first BW clock/weather up it was too large for my tastes. I tried to figure out how to resize it but never managed that. Then I got the bright idea that if I added a smaller BW clock/weather that it would replace the larger one.
Wrong!
Now I have two Clock/weather widgets. How can I delete them and start over?
Long press on the thing you want to delete. When you see a little trash can pop up in the bottom of the screen, drag the widget down and drop it on the trash can. You have to be pretty accurate or it will pop back to the closest spot. You can reposition it this way too. But getting in the spot where it will actually go takes some practice.

Thank you! Not sure how I missed seeing the Trash all the times I was long pressing the widget.

Does anyone know of a larger photo frame widget available? The stock photo frame is ok for most things but sometimes I want a larger one since I don't have all that many shortcuts on my home screen. I haven't found any yet and searching for photo or widget throws up too many results to sort through without a lot of effort. If there isn't one perhaps someone can tell me how to change the default widget to cover more than the 2x2 space it does currently.
I've also been searching/waiting for such a widget.
I've seen it in Rodriguez stiles screens
I have asked numerous times and have yet got a response
use ADW as your launcher, it will resize any widget.
*i'm at work and can't test whether or not it will fill the space you expand with the picture. it's worth a try, and if you weren't using ADW, you should be. =P
there was one called photoframe deluxe. however it seems the dev has stopped work on it and has removed it from the market. it was a paid for app but wasnt too bad. be good if someone could do something similar. the benefit of it was that it didnt ask you to resize the photos. it kept them original size and shrank them to fit if need be.
What about this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784791&highlight=frameme
The widget is only 2x2 but you get full screen when you click it.
Also like jamesd86 said if you are using adw as your launcher you can resize it to anything you want.
After the putchase, it was installed, and when I go to select widgets, not all of the widgets are there. No clock, no weather, not sure how many I am supposed to have.
I decided maybe I need to uninstall/reinstall. Went to market, there was no 'reinstall' option. So I went into Settings/Applications/Manage Apps. and uninstalled. Got message I had a refund.
I presume I got the correct app, as it showed the right company in the Google Checkout.
What should be the right process to get this installed, especially if something is wrong.
One thing I find quite interesting with apps for Android: looks like no way to contact many of the sellers. For this for example I went to their web site, didn't see any support or method to contact them.
This app had downloadble widgets which means not all of them come installed with it.
Further research shows that many users have trouble with this app ranging from issues like yours to battery problems.
The website for the app says that you can contact them through email from the android market. if this is not the case, I would abandon this app on that basis alone lol.
poppycock app works fine on my n1 and my galaxy s.. once installed all widgets are there you only have to download skins for weather and clock.
try downloading with wifi on.. it is much faster.

Thanks for the input, but they are not there 'once installed', if then you have to 'download skins for weather and clock'. Seems to me a clock should be a widget, not a skin. On the site, which has all of 1 page talking of features, they mention things about skins, and downloading skin kits. That implies development to me.
I went to the Market online, but that, interestingly enough, you can't even search on. On thes web site, interestingly enough, NO method to contact them there. But thanks to your tip, I do see an email address on the Market from the phone.
This is quite an interesting learning experience.
The web site that is on the Market is not reachable. Maybe trouble tonight.
I'll try the email route and see if I can learn a bit more about what I need to get this stuff working.
there are 100s of custom clock skins they cannot possibly put them all with the app it would be huge.. you add the beautifull home widget under under skins download and select the clock you want..
The widget name you want is called Beautiful Home, and when you pick that one it opens up a settings box. Down at the bottom it "save and apply." You gotta hit that button to actually put the widget on the screen. If you hit skins instead you can choose what you want, but you have to apply each time as you back out of the settings interface to make the widget "stick". Small learning curve. Once the widget is up, you can hit the weather to see the big weather popup, and hitting the menu button there brings up settings and skin buttons.
This is my favorite widget, the most reliable. I have submitted skins that were accepted, so I know they are responsive. If you still need help let me know.
Thank you so much for the details. You'd think an app that is at a cost, however small, would have at least a base level of documentation on their web page.
Question: Is Beautiful Home a different set than Beautiful Widgets, or is it just required in order to use Beautiful Widgets?

Beautiful Home is the name of the clock/weather widget that comes with Beautiful Widgets.
Thanks. I got it going.
I was thinking that a 'Home' Widget was a replacement for the home screen or something like that. Its beginning to look like a home widget must be a widget that can be placed on any screen, and is 'home' to other things you will be adding, as opposed to replacing some other home widget. Is that the case in general?
How's that for a tongue twister?
I would like to know if you all recommend this app for the Captivate?
Beautiful Widgets + Launcher Pro = Fantastic UI experience
I've been using weather and toggle widget and like it more than beautiful widget but both are nice.

Which Weather Widget and Toggle Widges are you using?
I have Beautiful Widgets along wiht Beautiful Weather LIve Wallpaper, and really like it. But I'm always interested in seeing what's out there.
The only thing I dislike about the blur interface is the bottom stuff switching to adore me what screen I'm on. Any way to disable, or decrease the time it shows?
I know this sounds stupid but just to mention that if you hit a blank area on the screen it will start the minimizing animation of the bar immediately instead of waiting for it to time out.
Quite honestly you should try a different launcher. I like ADW.Launcher. Many others around like Launcher Pro. You will find much more customization and features with those Launchers.
The only "problem" I have found is that some of the blur widgets don't play nice with ADW. ie, If I use any of the Blur widgets, I can't resize them. However, I don't really like any of the blur widgets and don't use them.
I've used all those launchers. Open home, dxtop, launcher pro, adw. I actually like the original on this phone except for that home screen bar thing.
I don't see a problem with blur now that i got used to it. Its great. If you hit the wrong thing and the switch bar comes up you have to wait a little over a second? Don't be. Impatient.

Kind of defeats the purpose of buying 1ghz phones doesn't it?
Let's just go back to 200 Mhz Arm processors and be patient
Battery will last longer I'm sure.

Looks like SiMi Clock.
1st link looks like a combination of different widgets.
Don't know about the horizontal line, but for the vertical line (link 3) long hold and stretch widget. Need Launcher Pro Plus or other 3rd party home screen that allows resizing widgets.

I think some of those lines, dates, weater are made with minimalistic text, and the clock with simi clock
That IS SiMi clock. I have the exact same thing, BUT you need to have something that will allow you to resize widgets. I use LauncherPro +
Ah, after taking a second look I see. It is gTab SiMi Clock. My mistake. I thought the lines where from something completely different but now I see it is streched.

With some trial and error you could make a white line on your background image to produce the same effect without using up all your screen space with a giant widget.
Its a combination of streched Simi clock using launcher pro, and possibly a background to match.
How do you make the date read "thuDECsecond"? I see the 'user defined' option but i can only get it to read "ThuDec2". Any help would be great.
I figured it out. You have to click and drag the widget and drop it back down. Once you do that it becomes highlighted in transparent orange and you can drag it to stretch it down your screen.
EDIT: Have to use launcher pro. Im new to all this stuff but its a pretty swift learning process.
Ok i put go launcher on my note i used it on my HTC hd2 and worked great.. am trying to get the time widget in bottom of the right corner right in it. i tried all the grid sizes and every thing this is the closest i could get to it.. any ideas

Maybe you should tell us what widget you are using and maybe you can find any option like "right-adjusted" and "bottom" or sth like this
Did you try to hold your finger on the widget for a few seconds?
Then you get resize and you can pull the widget to the right corner.
If the widget then is not readble change the grid size.
Works for me.
Sorry for my english
