I installed Launcherpro Icons and Docks from the market place and I saved a few icons to my gallery. However, it saves 2 .png icons and I can only delete one of them. The other one I can't seem to delete as the "delete" button is greyed out and the Location is unavailable. Can anyone help me delete these icons? I tried searching for them through my computer and Astro with no results.
It could be that your gallery hasn't updated its cache. It may think the image is still there even though it is not.
All the icons will be saved to /sdcard/LauncherProIcons. If the file isn't there, then it doesn't exist.
You can install a free app called Rescan Media that will help your gallery update the cache.
You could also try restarting the phone. Your cache should be updated on boot.
Thanks. I had to reset the phone to get rid of it. But since after the reset, I have not been able to push apps from the online Market site to my phone.

Is there an option or app to sort the standard app drawer, for example by filename, installtion date, size etc.
2.
If that's not possible I would like to reset my custom ordered app drawer so that it is ordered by installation time again.
3.
Furthermore I would like an app to get rid of the annoying open spaces after you removed an app...
Can anyone help?

Guess I just found an option to reset all data... deleted the cache for the system home (drawer) app. Unfortuneally all my homescreen data is deleted as well... I whish I had known that before...
All apps in the drawer are in alphabetical order now...
Is that the factory reset option? TIA
Setup: HTC Hero running CM6 (Vanilla 31 Dec) with Steel Elegance 6.1 (ported via Theme Porter).
Problem: I've been working on one of the Windows 7 look-alike setups using Desktop Visualizer. Everything was going good initially. Then, I went into the /system/apps via ADB and started removing 'useless' apps (guided by the list on the CM forums). Everything still seemed kosher, but on reboot, all my widgets were cleared from my desktop. Now here's the thing: I can add DVR widgets and load icons, JPGs, etc, but when I try to add one using a PNG, I get an error that it "Can't create shortcut or widget."
I've since reformatted and reflashed, but the problem has yet to be resolved.
I've tried the reformat/reflash, using ADW instead of GO, changed the options in the PNG files... nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions would be -greatly- appreciated, as this is driving me nuts.
Also, Google and forum search has not yet led me to anything related.
EDIT: It seems that the problem may be related to using ES File Explorer to select the files? I tried using the IO Explorer on a whim, and it worked... Any codeheads out there able to clarify this for me?
Not sure if this is a symptom of Cyanogenmod nightly or something else, but I can no longer add new widgets. I have downloaded quite a few but they don't show up in the widget list when I go to add a new widget. All the default ones are there.
I know the widgets are installed because they show as installed in the application manager and market app. In the market app if I go to my downloads the app is listed as installed and if I click on it and then go "open" it opens the screen that says "this is a widget, please add it to your homescreen by long pressing the background" message that some widgets have.
But when I go to add them, they just dont appear in the list. It's the same with many different launchers. Any thoughts?
Some widgets will not show up in the list if they are installed on the SD card. If they're installed there, just move the apps to the phone.
Great. Solved the problem, thanks for that. Should have though of it myself I guess.
I'm guessing that Cyangoenmod defaults to installing to SD card because I never set that. I have switched it back to defaulting to internal memory now.
Help!! I was messing with the widgets and when I tried Picture Frame I was asked to set a default action and accidently hit ES FileManager. Now I can't figure out how to change it to something else.
Everything I've read said select Settings->Applications->Manage->Clear Defaults but I don't know what App to clear. I cleared everything I could find that had Defaults and it still won't let me change it.
Once I do get to change it, what do I change it to?
You could uninstall both app, and reinstall. that should do the trick.
The app came with CyanoMod and I tried re-flashing the ROM without success. I suppose I could delete the user data too.
I 'think' if you go to settings - applications - manage applications and find the app your referencing then clear data it should prompt you to choose a default again.
The problem is I can't find the application. That's why I indicated I cleared defaults on every app that showed up that had the button as a choice. I may have missed it somehow. I was hoping someone could tell me which app or that it took something else to do it.
It's a widget, so you can just drag it to the trash can from your home screen to get rid of it. Also, the default you would want to clear is the app you associated it with (your file explorer app). It is looking for a folder where photos are located so it can display them. So you can navigate to the DCIM folder (or wherever your photos are located) with the file explorer program you used. But if you go to manage applications in settings you should be able to clear defaults for that file explorer app and the next time you try to use that widget it will ask you to choose what app you want to use (probably gallery would be the best choice).
Let me know if this works for you!
That was it. I was looking for a photo app not Es explorer.

Hi,
using Market Fixer I inadvertently deleted my stock gallery app which also meant I couldn't use the widget for having pics of my baby daughter on my screens.
Does anyone know how I can get another copy of is there a better app that has similar functionality?
Cheers for any help.
Quickpic is much better! Set it to 32 bit colour.

I already use QuickPic but need to be able have gallery for the widget function and also to be able to change the lockscreen pic (unless I'm being dumb).
I noticed that too, that without the gallery, the option disappear also. Anyway, luckily I've just frozen it instead of deleted.
On the other hand, I think you can go to settings > Display >Screen display and change it from there. It has an option to change the wallpaper and lock screen from there.
Without the gallery installed going via settings only gives access to the wallpaper folders.
Does anyone know where I can get the gallery apk without having to factory reset?
Here you go
- Download it to your phone
- Use ES File Explorer or another file manager with root access**
- Move the APK to /system/app
- Reboot
**Press Settings -> Root Explorer [Enable it] and also enable "Mount File System". Tap and hold the star on the top left (favorites) and navigate to /system/app
i've also accidently deleted the gallery app..(dont know what i'm doing lol)..
but thanks for your guide,i manage to get it back..
lots of thanks!
You sir are a gentleman! That's exactly what I wanted. Thanks very much.
