Has anyone been able to get the USAA app in the market to work on a rooted nook color or on Honeycomb? I also get a "Installation Error, Unknown reason -17"
thanks

Hi,
I just got a nook color, and installed Nookie Froyo on it. I got the market to work, and downloaded a few apps, one of which is grooveshark. However when I try to login to grooveshark I constantly get the message "Connection error while logging-in. Please try again."
Has anyone else had problems running Grooveshark on the nook color?
No one else has experienced a similar problem?
I can connect and see my account/playlists etc, but I keep getting the "IO error preparing stream" issue when trying to play a track.
I'm on Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 on eMMC with the new OC Quadrant Kernel.
Any help would be much appreciated.
tjtv: I didn't do anything special to get mine to work. Just d/l from app store and logged in. Sorry can't be of more help.
hi there i am running customized nookie froyo 0.6.8 emmc. with the regular market fix, i can find most of apps i need, except one, the Super Manager. i used it in nooter, but couldn't find it ever since i upgraded to nookie froyo.
i was wondering if any other nookie user can see it in the place market ?

Yeah, I'm running the same ROM & the Market fix from the video on YouTube and I see it, fourth entry down from ipop.

If you are seeing "Super Manager(battery,SD etc)" by "ipop", that is not the real Super Manager.
I don't see Super Manager on my Froyo SD Nook either. But I see it as number one search result (Super Manager by Gpc) on my phone.
I don't have confidence these Market fixes are 100% complete. It seems to help with some apps, but I still seem to be missing a lot of stuff (had to download Firefox last night on my phone and copy to my Nook because it doesn't show up either).
yes, you're right the gpc one is what i was looking for.
i too see it in my phone. i have copied my phone's build.prop fingerprint to NC, but still no luck.
sigh, the app itself is no big deal, i just want to understand how market can tell if my device is eligible for an app.

Try using App Brain. I was able to get it through there (although I don't think it showed up in the regular market)
thanks, i do see it in appbrain, but whenever i click perform install, it redirected to market and then ended up with a msg "requested item is not found."

the easiest thing i found was backing up my apps using appmonster on my phone - then uploading them to my dropbox account- then installing them from my dropbox to my nook.
this of course only works with apps on your phone that you backed up; and it really is kind of a hassle if you are searching for new apps.
I'm having a problem lots of other are having, where Market returns "Download Unsuccessful." I am on 1.1.0 and used AutoNooter 3.0. It had been working fine 'til recently. Many threads suggest clearing the cache, but Market isn't listed in Nook Color Tools when I look through the apps.
Any idea why?
Is the problem consistent for certain apps? I have this happen once in awhile on my NC. Typically the 2nd time I download the app or update it's successful. A couple of months ago there was an app that wouldn't update and a quick reboot fixed it. Not sure if that helps.
Which problem? The "download unsuccessful" problem, or the problem of Market not appearing in Nook Color Tools? No applications will download or update.
The app page in the Market for Scrabble Free doesn't show the download button, and market.android.com says the app is incompatible with my CyanogenMod Nook Color. This doesn't seem right, since the site says the app is compatible with my Nookie Froyo ROM.
Is there a way to override or deceive the Market's compatibility check and install Scrabble Free?
So many threads with this issue. Look around.

I assume both are rooted if you can get to the market with your Froyo ROM. If that is the case, this might be the first time I have seen a distinction between rooted NCs. Is the new market on either... or both?
Scrabble Issue
Goto manage applications/market/uninstall the update...this will take you back to original market. Download the game... also, make sure you have the option to override - full screen is off.
Is there a way to "trick" the market into thinking my Nook Color is a legit tablet? There are some "tablet only" apps that I would like to download but they don't show up when I search for them on my Nook. Should I find the APKs else where and sideload?
Honeycomb apps will not work even if you do spoof your Nook.

Maybe emulate a tablet via the SDK on a PC, download apps then use Titanium Backup to side load them on Nook... No direct way I know of tho...

Thanks for the responses! Still new to all of this, so I appreciate the speed and patience!
I can't necessarily help you access tablet apps but you will also see many other apps the market will not allow you to download to the nook color with a flashed ROM. A fix for most of these is to download the app and install it on your android phone and use the free Bluetooth file transfer app from the Market to transfer the app to the nook. This puts the apk file on the nook color where you can run it and install it. Works just about every time.
