I recently found out that tapping my power button will not lock my screen or put my phone to sleep mode. Any solutions to this?
Details of my phone in my signature
Can you still long press the power button to get to the shutdown menu?
It sounds to me like you might need to warranty your phone D= (FYI if you didn't know - unlocking the bootloader voids software warranty, not hardware warranty)
Yes I can still long press it and the power options still show.
Just lost the sleep mode.
Things I've done recently to my phone:
Flashed IntersectRaven's Kernel
Upgraded Amon Recovery
I wonder if one of these caused this problem.
Hmmmm well my best suggestion at this point is to reflash everything to stock and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, I'd say there was some kind of error in the ROM you flashed to your phone, or possibly a setting.
Unless someone else has any bright ideas?
Thare's an "End button behaviour" option in Spare parts that might help.

Hello, i have the new rom eViL's NXSense v.1.26 - (F)The (I)Gravy (N)Train
I have a big issue.
When i put the phone on the pocket, the trackball option of wake and unlock, unlock my phone and touch thinks on the screen.
Is there an option or a way to turn off this function wake and unlock?
Please is there is anything, help me!
Thnx a lot.
try Spare Parts
There is not such thing in the setting, or in the main menu.
I look to all places on the rom, i don't know where i can search anymore.
Thnx
Com'on guys nobody know how to resolve this?
I cant take my phone with me outside, because of that. And to hold them in the hand , i don't want.
Pfff..so bad, this rom is awesome, but this thnig is bad.
In cyanogen ROM, in The settings, there is an option for the lock screen to be on or off. So if on, and the track ball was accidentally pressed in your pocket, nothing would happen because there's no way the swipe to unlock can be accidentally swiped.
Does your ROM have this option?
He have trackball unlock so if he press the trackball the phone wake up and if he press again the phone unlock... In my rom I have Button settings and there I have Trackball wake...
Spare parts is in the market.
Roger is like Obsy said. When i press once , wake, after that press again, and unlock. I don't have any button settings,to change that.
My rom is : eViL's NXSense v.1.26 - (F)The (I)Gravy (N)Train

Thnx Crachek, i try dis right now, lets see how it works.
Yes it work, trackball still wake up the phone but now does not unlock them second time i push. well this is better. hope Evil, read my message and tell me how to do , to never wake the phone with trackball.
Ok it's official, the best forum ever xda, and nobody knows how to disable trackball wake and unlock. Even the creator don't answer to my pm. Well i guess i should change back to the original rom.
THnx everybody
There is no such option - means, the same file that you've flashed needs to be hacked (decompiled, changed and recompiled) again to remove the trackball wake.

Not true. I too am haunted with this issue on reider's CM10 ROM. I can verify the issue by pressing the trackball to wake, then mashing the screen with my palm a few times to unlock. Anyone experiencing this issue knows how annoying it is.
Has anyone come across a solution yet?
what a terrible problem to have
I've got a stock Bionic and noticed recently that the home button, when pressed, causes the screen to flicker but never go back to the home screen. This gets "fixed" sometimes if I pull the battery but not all the time. Also, my search button doesn't do anything when pressed either.
I'm confused as to what could have happened to cause these to buttons to stop functioning. I've tried a factory reset as well and that didn't work.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be and/or what I could try to fix these issues?
Thanks!
This happend on my eris and I had to reflash the stock rom to get it to work again. Are you rooted?

Nope. I haven't had a chance to sit down and root the phone.
I was tinkering with the phone and I noticed one thing...if I disabled the pattern and pin lock (I tried it w/both) the two keys would function correctly. When I enabled the lock again they stopped working....weird!
I didn't have this problem ever with .232 or GB. The buttons vibrate once only. Luckily the back button still works otherwise i'd be screwed.
Any ideas? It doesn't seem to want to have the option to use slide to unlock or have the PIN number security option to work either...
And it seems I don't have an airplane mode toggle as well...
Maybe try house of bionic reinstall option and re load it again?
I'll probably try redoing everything later but I'd like some other ideas/options first before having to reset everything if I don't have to...
Hi! I had the EXACT problem today, flashed .246 and the search and home screen soft keys did nothing but vibrate. Fortunately the fix was rather easy and you don't have to do anything crazy, just go to settings, privacy, and do a factory data reset, it will take about 10 minutes and it will reboot back into the same .246 ICS build as before and everything will work as normal!
There you go thanks for sharing!
I'm turning here only because I ran out of ideas to try.
My daughter has a "pure" version and last night at the airport (traveling) she told me that her home button stopped working and notification shade doesn't open past the first card that shows time/date.
I didn't believe it but sure enough, that's the case.
I googled this issue and fond a post where someone suggested to add/remove a user. I did that and the notification shade is back to normal but the home button still does nothing. Anyway, instead of wasting time on this, I wanted to Factory Reset but the freaking Reset button is disabled! Ok, so I did the power button+vol_down combination to get into boot options and when I select the Recovery option, nothing happens! Just a black screen as if it shut off.
Any idea on how to fix this and what could it be? I've never experienced anything like this on any of my Nexuses so I'm kinda pissed at Motorola and will most likely never buy anything but Nexus again.
Thanks
When selecting "recovery" from the bootloader are you using the power button or the volume up button?

Man, that's kinda embarrassing.... LOL
I was using the Power button instead of the Up button. And it's written right there on the screen.
Thank you!
But still kinda strange behavior that I'm trying to fix. Wiping right now and I'm sure I'm all set. Thanks!
Are there multiple users on the phone?
I have the same problem and just started today.
Any thing fix this?
