[Q] Superboot for GRI40 2.3.3 - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a superboot for 2.3.3?
I can't find anything for the Nexus One. I found superboot for GRI40 for the Nexus S, but nothing for the N1.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Think i found it --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=603

I still can't find it, could you post a link to the exact post?
Thank you

It is inconspicuously attached to the OP, as su.zip. Used it, works 100%

[Q] No way to download Modaco's superboot

Hi,
I'm trying to install a custom rom to my stock N1. Right now I'm trying to download Modaco's superboot from this page, more specifically the frf91 version, supposedly available here and mirrored here.
Neither link seems to work, though. The first one does download a file but it seems to be corrupted, and the second one gives me a "not found" error. Are you guys able to download that specific version of superboot? Could someone upload it somewhere?
The link works fine.
And why not download FRG83 version, unless you're on Vodafone FRF91 or something.
And if you are on Voda FRF91, download FRG33 then FRG83

The first link does download a file, but when you try to open it it's corrupted. More specifically, I get this:
Archive: /tmp/1.1-FRF91-nexusone-superboot.zip
[/tmp/1.1-FRF91-nexusone-superboot.zip]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /tmp/1.1-FRF91-nexusone-superboot.zip or
/tmp/1.1-FRF91-nexusone-superboot.zip.zip, and cannot find /tmp/1.1-FRF91-nexusone-superboot.zip.ZIP, period.

I'm trying to locate FRG33 but there doesn't seem to be such a version, was that a typo? Also, why apply two different ones?
FRG83 won't apply using PASSIMG method, so you need to apply FRG33 and then FRG83 update.
Everything you're looking for can be found in Wiki, look at my signature. "Unroot/restore your Nexus" contains the guide and the links to whatever you'll need to end up with FRG83 on your phone.
And in any case, if you're trying to install custom ROM, you can use SuperOneClick application and install a custom recovery, without trying to flash superboot which you don't need.

Need JH7 Odin.

I can't flash any earlier version. This is a model 1009 Captivate that came with JH7 out of the box.
Flashing to any earlier version will either brick the phone or cause a kernel panic on boot. I had to make and use a jig to get it back.
I searched the Captivate Android Development Forum and all I found were .zip files only flashable through ClockworkMod Recovery.
I really need to flash to stock. Please. Where can I find JH7 Odin?
Follow this guide, tell me how it goes:

I used this method on my 1010 and it worked beautifully. Wish there was a one click option, but really it's not that bad.

Thank you so much. This worked! I am now running Darky 8 on my Cpativate Model 1009! Thanks!
Glad that it worked out
Actually in the process of flashing back to JH7 right now (exchanging my Captivate due to the random shutdown issue).

Nexus One Updating

Hi,
I have bought a new nexus one, it is unlocked from HTC and runs on 2.1, my question is how do i update it manually to 2.3.4?
I am new at this so if you explain clearly so i don't mess up.
Thanks inadvance
First you open your browser and go to google. Then you type in Nexus One manual update.
Welcome Masantula!
First of all, read the wikis and the FAQ guides available on XDA forums. There is a lot of information available that can help you get started.
Did you just want to update to stock 2.3.4 ROM? It would help if you could provide more information on your Nexus One.
Go to Settings>About Phone then post back with the Baseband version and, kernel version and build number details.
It would be great to know if you have a AMOLED or SLCD version of the Nexus One. The updating process is slightly different from my own experience. To find out, switch off your phone then restart it again by holding down the vol down button first then power on. You should see a page with three androids on skateboards, have a look then you should see details of MICROP. Is yours 0b15 (AMOLED) or 0c15 (SLCD)?
Can't he just type *#*#2432546#*#* ?
Read my signature, look there for "Unroot/restore" guide, PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Execute, and you'll be on 2.2.1 (if you're not already). From that point, just wait until you get the update OTA.

Hi Philip.
Go to the link below and follow the instructions under PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Once you do that than you will be on stock Froyo (2.2.1).
After this you can check your phone for a new OTA update, current one out is 2.3.4.
If you don't get the OTA update go to the link below to know how to manual update your phone to 2.3.3 and than 2.3.4. Start with 2.3.3 followed by 2.3.4
PASSIMG Method:

Heimdall One-Click Total Stock

Hey everyone,
I was looking at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266172 .
Does anyone have AT&T Samsung Captivate Total Stock UCKB2 "Rooted Version"? The download link is dead, and I need it to revert back to stock. (stuck on CM7 loading screen after restart)
I understand it's a big file, but if anyone can upload it for me, it would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
Why not just use a different package? There is only about 100 others to choose from...
I believe this is the only one which worked for me when I initially flashed back to stock. It caters to the new build numbers.
Try the ones found here. They worked for me.

Flash the unrooted version, then use superoneclick to root.
Here's the rooted version -> LINK

Captivate, need to root

I have a captivate on 2.3.5 uckj3 that I'd like to root and bump up a few android versions. The problem is every thread I've been through trying to achieve this has missing/broken links. Does anyone happen to have a file that i could flash in Odin to get this under way? Or point me somewhere that has a working download link?
Thanks,
Aaron
Yes, this may be a large problem. I have made numerous attempts to root my SGH-i897 to no avail. I was able to locate an older version (i.e., below 2.0) of SuperOneClick from CLShortFuse and this may work but, I have note had to time test this. However, my phone is also on Froyo (2.2). I will try to find this older version and send it to you. Additionally, you may want to search YouTube. The best information I found was from someone using an older version of SuperOneClick and the Android SDK rather than the GUI.
1/1/2017 - Found it! Please note I obtained this recently here on XDA yet, have not had time to devote to attempting to root my SGH-i897. I was also trying to locate the YouTube reference to a member that rooted their Captivate using v1.7 but, have not had time to follow through on this issue either. I will persevere because, I need the reference too!
