So, I am at JF 1.4.2. What are my options at this time to get the latest and greatest on my G1?
Also, can I partition the card using 'fdisk' and format in Linux and then use the card in my G1? I am getting a class6 16G card, so I want to put apps on there. Is apps2sd already included in some builds?
Please don't say search. I searched and my head almost exploded after looking the ginormantic threads.
If someone has a thread that provides summary or howto update from JF 1.4.2, kindly point me to that.
Really appreciate your help!

SEARCH! No, just kidding. Basically, take your pick of the available roms, make sure you have the correct SPL and newest radio flashed, then wipe and flash your rom of choice. Its that simple. As far as the apps to sd issue, most of the roms have their own thing going with that. My recommendation would be to check out either marcusmaximus' thread on the subject or grab lucidrem's app from the market to help out.
Other than that, good luck, dont brick your phone, and enjoy!
Oh god I wish i had jashu's search pictures. Use cyanogen's ROM. auto apps to sd. Incredibly fast. Stable. Awesome.

You can definitely partition the SD card using fdisk and linux--there's a walkthrough here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-502095.html
I recommend using the cyanogen roms because they automatically handle the apps2SD for you and are fast and reliable. There are also several themes available if you are into that.
Thank you so much for your responses! I think the consensus seems to be cyanogen's rom. I think I am heading to cyanogen's ginormic thread and figure things out. Thanks again! I will come back if I need help...

Have the Devs gotten it to work? Because that's all that's missing from this.
Im running defconoi's Froyo build and it is pretty cool but A2SD would make it my Daily Driver
Read the original post... gives directions how to enable via terminal... Its usually a better idea to post questions in the original thread... BTW it was answered a few times in that thread too...
First of all, Hello to everyone in xda developers and I want to thank you all for the detailed Q&A section and newbie proof guides on how to flash and such, And its my first post !!! xD Anyways back to topic.
Currently Ive been reading about the Darktremor Apps2SD 2.7.5 fix4 and the one before that, Ive been searching but I cant find or see if it will work for Darchdroid 2.7,( Also love the rom, +1 for the makers ). So yeah thats my question will it work with Darchdroid's 2.7 ?
Thanks to all and feel free to call me a nub hahahahha .
Please Delete this post !!!!!
Edit: Disregard my post, I found the answer to my question !!!!
DarchDroid 2.7 includes A2SD
Most roms do. I think he just wanted to use the Darktremor Apps2SD.
It works...I had it on DarchDroid 2.7 before I reflased to Fresh 2.3.3 (have to constantly test the Darktremor app, so I don't stay on one rom for very long).

Hello all...
can you guys help me...
Im using Milestone [GSM]
still with original FW, Eclair 2.1 Update 1
I wanna upgrade the FW into froyo [2.2]
the question is, HOW???
thx b4 all...
Why doesn't anyone use the search function/ Google to search such an old topic :/
For Rooting and flashing vulnerable recovery:
http://androidforums.com/milestone-all-things-root/75460-milestone-2-1-update-root-guide.html
Then you can use the OpenRecovery Mod (from G.O.T) to flash 2.2.1....
OK..
Done..
Thx
IMHO this would be a good thing to put in the XDA-Developers wiki, rather than forcing newbies to search through a lot of forum threads which causes confusion. I agree that everybody should be diligent in using the search box before asking questions, but it's still not ideal. Also, sometimes things change from time to time (e.g. GOT releasing updates) and then it's even more confusing to use the forum threads as references for "how to".
I would like to work on it but am busy with a lot of other stuff at the moment...next time I install a new ROM I will try to write a step-by-step wiki article (if anyone else thinks it's a good idea?) or at least put a link in the Milestone/Droid wiki page to the relevant forum threads.
