Word. let me know how that goes lol
working great on Legend cm7!
(no mount needed)
Thank you so much. This works great on my G2 using cm7.
Just as a clarification for some cause I didn't know...
To mount the system manually in recovery go to mounts and storage then mount system. Back out and flash the zip.
thanks for the feedback guys Im just trying to figure out what the hell I did wrong that it wont auto mount for certain devices!
I'm getting force-closes when I go to set the wallpaper on my HTC Eris running CM7.
I'll try re-downloading and flashing again, but just wanted to let you know.

Either that or a new updated device with the same screen size or close to screen size as the eris.
Then I can work on it.
Maybe the wildfire or one of the other new devices.
Don't work on my Galaxy S i9000 2.2.1 Stock Rom. Show only black screen and loading live wallpaper and if i go set i have only black wallpaper.

Didn't work on my CM 6.1.1 G2
Went rebooted into recovery, mounted /system, installed zip from sdcard, and get an error about Amend scripting no longer being supported. Installation aborted.
Apologies if this is a noob issue, I'm relatively new to Android.
Thanks!
EDIT: I read up on the new 3.0 update for ClockworkMod Recovery, which seems to have gotten rid of support for a certain type of scripting. If a different version of the zip isn't going to be made, how can I downgrade? (if possible)
Right now i'm on 3.0.0.5

Hi man,
I use Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5 too.
I recommend that you make sure you have ROM Manager installed on your phone.
As rare as it is, if you ever have this problem flashing a .zip file in recovery, reboot to android, run ROM Manager and ask it to install recovery. When it's done, ask it to reboot to recovery and it will install Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 then boot into it, which will let you flash the zip which you couldn't flash before. Awesome!
The good thing is, once you leave recovery, 2.5.0.7 is gone and next time to reboot to recovery (not using ROM Manager) you will be back to 3.0.0.5.
Double awesome!!
This works well for me and has done for months, so hopefully it will work for you too.
Don't use ROM Manager for anything other than this though, cos apart from this it is rubbish!!
Regards,
wildcardspv.

BLACK DROID
NEW a theme by Me. Nearly entirely- i grabbed a couple of status bar icons from gchrome and a few things from Blur but nearly every app has been extensively edited by me. I call it Black Droid. All icons were taken from the Motorola Droid system dump and edited to look more uniform.
Theme includes Advanced Launcher, Edited Phone v21, edited contacts and better browser- all themed of course
It is still works in progress but i need a break for a while. Things still to do are the HTC keyboard and a couple of other things....

NEW Theme by WYSIE: Android2.0
seen in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4914099&postcount=147
Android2.0 port. Acknowledgements in the the post linked above. A very nice port of the new Android2.0 theme on Droid.
Advanced Launcher Android2.0 Port by Wysie
Standard Launcher Android2.0 Port by Wysie
First theme to be ported is Kspec_Blur by BrandenK. This is an absolutely awesome theme. Buy brandenk a beer if you like it. Thanks to Beagz for the keyboard.
If you have a standard installation of the rom then all you have to do is drop the theme on your sd card and flash the normal way.
If you have already added the modified apps to your rom then you have to empty out the dalvik cache:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /data/dalvik-cache
rm *.*
Phone10 versions are those with the modded phone apk.
NEW VERSION OF KSpecBLUR, now with a twist of montalbert
I have tweaked a few of the selectors- i found it hard to read the menus- just a quick change- not entirely happy with it, but thought i would offer it up. I have also been able to include the modded launcher and betterbrowser into the update package, so with this one no need for adb push etc. Thanks to Regunus for the screenshots as i was far too lazy.
MA-KSpecBlurRA-IONv1.6.2.zip
androidspin mirror : click here
Phone11BlurRA-IONv1.6.2.zip
tested and worked from a clean install.... you shouldn't have to wipe- depending on what you have already installed on there. clear dalvik-cache if you have any issues and then reinstall. flashed over old theme no worries.
gChrome by Moonspoon
For screen shots etc see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493434&highlight=gchrome

How do you guys make ROM? Simply explore and edit .zip file?
Is it possible to change the strange looking fluoro green clock background?
what do you want? Unfortunately we cannot change the clock colour from black with our rom. I can make it white if you want. I can make it any colour but obviously it needs to be a colour contrasting the black so you can actually see the clock...am thinking maybe a light grey... will do it tonight (10hrs from now).... this was a very quick port done late at night..
oh, I see. White text on a black status bar would look slick
Why can't you change the text colour?
I have the white text but not white clock. to change colour of clock (plus a few other things) you need to edit the services.jar, well, to be specific the .dex file within services.jar. This rom has no .dex file within the services.jar. It has a .odex file and thus cannot be edited. I can edit the colour of the notification in the status bar (date and sms notifications etc) but not the clock.
What i will do tonight is do a few framework-res.apk so then all people have to do is DL this small file and adb push it across? or would you prefer full zip files?
We just need to flash this in like we would a ROM right? I flashed the signed3 file and the phone is stuck on the HTC Magic boot screen.
hmmm.... you have the Amon_RA rom? worked perfectly for me, flashing first from my hero theme over to the first version, then to second and then to third version without wipes.... corrupt file? Bad download? Will post an md5 tonight when i get home.
Yup, using the RAV1.1. But I changed the IME to HTC CIME, would that have any effect? Do I need to do other preparatory work like clearing icons off screens?
Downloading to phone directly now and will try applying from that file.
Edit: Nope, still doesn't work =(
ok. reuploading now-
hmm....not getting why it still isn't working
maybe it doesn't like the HTC CIME in there? Did you apply the HTC CIMEinto the update.zip or install it like an app?

I applied it as an update.zip which I got from here, using the haykuro version and then removed the HTC IME as per Amon's instructions in his ROM thread. Should I try installing the IME back into my phone?
hmmm not sure what the issue is and i haven't heard of anyone else's bootlooping so it must be the CIME. Hate to say this but maybe try a wipe....
argh...ok.....weekend coming so guess can try that then.
Tried to install haykuro's cime using update.zip method. Not working as well...

Do you mean the theme is not working or the keyboard is not working? Or the keyboard is not working after applying the theme?
i mean the chinese input is not working.
I installed amon ra's rom, then this black theme and everything was fine. But tried to install the CIME but cant get it to work. Cant even select it in locale.
I installed the same CIME on other roms like jacheroski and hofo before, so it cant be my file having problem.
Anyway this black theme is very cool~ Thanks MontAlbert for porting it
I installed amon ra's rom just to install this theme
i got my cime working already.
Not sure why it works now. Yesterday i installed amon ra's rom, and then hero black theme. This morning I installed the CIME, but the cime didnt work.
So just a few mins earlier, I decided to wipe my phone and reflash all my roms. I installed amon ra's rom, black theme and cime all at the same time (didnt even reboot my phone, just flashed all 3 at recovery) and well it works now.
Not sure what happened, but im just glad i got everything working as i wanted it to be now
Are you like me, tiered of the stock sense navigation bar? I have created multiple themes and I wanted to share my Transparent glass theme. Keep your eyes open for more releases!
Warning: I am not responsible for any damage to your phone! But that is highly unlikely!

glass_signed.zip - 8.6 Mb
Tested on Cronos Droid 2.0 but should work on all official WWE releases.
glass-older_signed.zip - 8.3 Mb
This patch should work for older roms based on the taiwan release.
Very Very Very nice.
thanks a lot.
I'm waiting for this since a long time. (black sense bar was boring).
Thanks again
Glad to help!
if you can making smaller nav bar it will be great...
I love my wallpaper that why..
Cool gonna flash Just wondering if you can reassign the button shortcuts (change "location" of "show apps" "Phone" etc.) when you theme Rosie because then i might also get into theming apks
looks pretty cool!

Yes you should be able to with a bit of knowledge. I think you can use a tool apktool and then change the encrypted xml files.

I am guessing that Rouflanos 1.2 is not based on the new official WWE RUU but on the taiwan release. The second theme should work for you but you might need to remove the first one. The files to be deleted are /system/app/Rosie.apk and /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk and also /system/app/Rosie.odex and /system/framework/com.htc.resources.odex. Then flash the second file uploaded.
Thanks for your help.
I flash my hero with your two files and no one work.
I will try a new rom tomorrow, and try again with your "patch".
Thanks.
PS: Do you know good SU, overclock, sense ROM ?
Thanks again
Cronos 2.0 beats all for me. 710 mhz, ChainDD's Su Ui, Sense, Jit (Change background to your own. Not stock. Will bootloop), 4.9 megaflops. Also the first patch i posted works beautifully with cronos 2.0.

It isn't your theme it's just Cronos Droid that ****s:/ You should do it like this:
1. Wipe everything
2. Flash Cronos Droid, flash the SU fix and flash the extra apps (optional) EDIT: Do not flash the apps wait till everything else is working (step 10.)
3. Boot and then reboot right away (don't setup your phone)
4. Wipe dalvik
5. Boot and complete the setup
6. Change the wallpaper
7. Reboot and leave it for a second
8. Flash the JIT patch and boot
9. Reboot a couple of times leaving you phone turned on for around a minute between the reboots
10. Now you should be able to flash anything

OMG! I just had to reinstall 4 times because i thaught "I can skip that line that doesen't matter" but i've finally got it working by doing it point by point
Everytime i try to flash this my hero gets stock at the "HTC screen" and the screen turns off. Then if i press a button it turns on... But it's REALLY wierd since all your zip does is copy 2 files
EDIT: Got it working
Doesn't work on VillainROM 12.0...
Loop on boot screen
Because of requests I will try to make the villianrom 12 package. All other issuse should not occure because of the zip. All it does is replace the current 2 files with mine. Mine have no changes when it comes to code.
Vibrant AOSPish FroYo 1.0
I based this off of eugene373's JPM port. So GPS is NOT WORKING. Everything else, however, IS working.
This is based off of Euegene's JPM_Update that was posted 10/21/2010 at 9PMEST... It has all the fixes except the new recovery one he just posted.
My goal since getting the Vibrant was to make it at least look as AOSP as possible and I can say it's pretty close.

Install rom manager open it and install the clockwork update make sure theres no update.zip files on your internal sd card then download the rom using anybrowser just not the stock browser for some reason it won't download then put the file on the root of the internal sd then reboot using rom manager (the second option under clockwork) then reinstall packages then it should boot to clockwork, then choose install file from sdcard then choose from sdcard then every thing else is self explanatory lol
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
So i imagine this has the potential to wipe the SD card like the eugene's build, right? What exactly was the way to avoid that? Just put it on an external sd card?

Both Bionix's ROMs and my Vibrant AOSPish 2.1 ROM will flash a kernel for you. Other then that use the search function.
This has not wiped my SD card. Although I backed everything up.
This is fantastic and is the first froyo I'm considering keeping on my phone. Remember to zipalign! (including framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk).

First - I did not in any way shape or form create this theme. All credit goes to D3StRoY & R64 in the I9000 Forums. It was just so nice that i couldn't help but put it over top of Cog 3.0
[THEME] Generation X - V1.14 Please Please Please go and thank them if you like this awesome theme.
Also, this is not an exact replica of said theme. I am in no way skilled enough to port the exact theme over. It is very close at this point and ill keep working on it as i have time. I honestly never even tried doing this before until last night. I just swapped artwork around.
Known issue:
- does not have epic unlock screen
- while charging the charging animation does not display properly (fixing that by tonight(i think))

Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk. I nor anyone else (other then yourself) is responsible for any damage you cause to your phone.
If you want the launcher icons to match you will need a suitable launcher replacement that lets you use custom icons. Like LauncherPro.

- Optional LauncherPro Icons - The imperfections in the two app drawer icons, I made them in a rush, are not seen on phone.

Optional CWM flash-able Boot Animation
Nothing fancy. Also my first time making an animation, so be gentile. lol
Actual animation is much smoother and has 2x as many frames as the animated gif preview.
-Cog3boot.zip
Tip: zoom out all the way if your not seeing movement in the picture below.

Background image in screen shots, pervy.
this is probably a dumb question but here goes. So do i have to have cog 3.0 installed first or can i just flash straight to this?
Example: if my wife is on darkys right now will she need to flash first to cog 3 and then this? or will flashing this also pt cog 3 on?

No. This is a theme, not a complete rom. You have to flash Cog 3 first.
Sweet! Time to flash Cog! Thanks!!
This should be compatible with any rogers 2.2 Rom. Unless DG did more tweaking then Im aware of. As always try at your own risk.

On some threads I've seen some folks recommending to disable lagfix before applying a theme. -- Any issues with that on this one?

Im no expert but i have reflashed this theme at least a dozen times and have had no problems with the theme or the revert. Without disabling it. It never hurts to be extra safe if that is what you want to do.

That's what I figured since some folks are extra cautious. If worse comes to worse I could also reflash!!!
EDIT: I just applied it, and looks really nice!!! Props to the original creators and the OP for porting it! (I was getting sick of the green Gingerbread theme I was running on 2.3b6)

This doesn't have anything to do with the modem. If you have a different modem and its working this shouldn't effect it. This is just a graphic change.
The op says "cog 3.0 + ugl1" or something to that effect, which made me think you needed the original modem.. seemed strange to me, but just wantsled yo verify I wasn't going to screw things up...

I see what your saying. The 3.0+ was referring to the cog version built on Rogers I896UXJL1.
Gotcha! Thanks!

I hope this is the right spot for this topic.
I was finally able to create my very first custom boot animation for my HTC Thunderbolt.

I tried installing but it keeps saying install aborted. I rebooted in recovery and installed zip from card. I left the file as bootanimation.zip because I know it had to be that to install to the device but for some reason when I go to install it it keeps aborting my install on the thunderbolt. Any help would be great.

... You don't flash it. You either adb push the file or use a root explorer.

Yeah, as idkwhothatis123 said, simply replace your current bootanimation.zip with this one.
I used Supermanager to copy the old one from the \system\media folder to my SD Card and then put this one, which was on my SD Card into that folder. Reboot and it should work fine.
I hope that helps.
that worked thank you.

If you're referring to the splash screen, that's a different process. If that's what you're talking about, I can explain that when I get off work.

I'm not entirely sure. I would assume if you had the same dimensions (480x800) then it should work. But, do a quick Google search to see.

Any help will be great. Yeah the only thing i get is the final screen. I don't have the apple logo or the android coming in and flicking the apple away. All that shows up is the final part of the animation.
Ok, so I just downloaded the file I have up and I see what you guys are taking about. I will upload a new file a little later. I'm currently at Kings Island. The thing I don't get is when I extracted the bootanimation.zip on my phone, all the files were in the zip and desc.txt were all correct. So, I will look at it when i get home. Not entirely sure what happened.

Sorry about that guys. I tested this one again after I re-zipped the bootanimation. Any other problems, please let me know.
I hope you guys enjoy this.
HA. This is cool, you should give some thought on adding some sounds to it. Hinds73 has a tutorial on it that works perfect.

Tried installing this with Root Explorer as I did with my Evo. Rename the current bootanimation.zip to oldbootanimation.zip and put this zip in system-customize-resource folder where these zips are deposited. Rebooted my phone, and its still the MikRoms animation from the Gingeritis rom im running. For the hell of it I wiped my cache partition and my Delvik..no go

I would go through the process again. I had this happen to me before, but it was because I forgot a step. Lol. The little things are sometimes the most irritating. You might try total commander, and make sure you have r/w permissions.
Sent from my rooted, Dark Horse INFECTED Synergy bolt running Ziggys latest.
yeah im going to give it another shot..But with Root Explorer if you dont have the proper permissions it wont even let you move files so I know I got that part right lol..Ill have to look up this total commander you mentioned. I remember having a small issue awhile back with RE and Estrongs and permissions (1 let me move things while the other didnt..and both were set to r/w not read only)
worked for me, looks awesome!! gonna show this off to a friend of mine with an iphone tomorrow haha
Installing it right now with the custom splash screen picture
Let's see how this works.
I'll show this to all my iPhone friends, haha.
Thanks for your work!
EDIT:
I got a suggestion if you'd read it
Maybe make the text appear a bit slower like the system is 'really' computing?
I notice it just jumps up rapidly and clog the screen so quick.
I understand the whole text stays there for a while so you can read it, but I think the 'coolness' factor is lessened because the text appears and scrolls up so fast.
Just a suggestion
