Fotocamera for android - XPERIA X1 Android Development

Why no implementation of fotocamera support in android for x1? Noone interested?

PLEASE! Use the search Button!
Its really annoying to read the same questions over and over again! this one is answered too often...
If you *need* the cam -> write the needed drivers and port them or stay on WiMo...

no need for anger
okay for now we have(thanks to sp3dev) a kernel that works with camera preview but it is wayyyy to bugy and for your hopes sp3dev is currently working on newer version of kernel and he will publish it when the time comes so be patient the time will come xD

|R|6.5|WWE|21889| ★ Energy Android Super Lite ROM |Jan 28| ★

I'm posting a very very VERY light ROM that can be used to boot the various Android releases floating around this forum. GenY's DualBoot application is cooked in for easy of launching Haret.exe.
Do not download this ROM to use as a regular Windows phone. It has NOTHING in it but drivers and 21889. It's almost useless, for anything but booting android. Thanks and enjoy
The ROM can be found here http://hotfile.com/list/93322/b5a2687
Just pick the Android ROM which should be no bigger than 70 Megs
I will keep this updated as the COM2 builds progress... No need to build this type of ROM with the newer COM branches
You COULD use this ROM to try out apps, maybe even run SPB Mobile Shell or something like that, but keep in mind it's bare as can be, as in, nothing installed on it and nothing on the start menu
Just to clarify.. this is NOT an Android ROM. It's a clean WM ROM used to boot Android from the Storage Card. You will need to find an Android package to install to your Storage Card first
Space reserved for posting working Android images....
Here's one > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5484494&postcount=738
One more.. just in case
So Android is ported enough to be usable?
So Android is ported enough to be usable? Oh and 'first'! Because it's my first time to be the first poster- not because I'm the first poster.
Love your work by the way. I'm sure you hear it all the time, but one more can't hurt right?
Great!
I am really glad to see you do this. This was badly needed as the dev. in rhodium for Android is way behind. Thanks! Also, I just DL'd your lates & I will be sending you some brn files for action screen to match. I hope you like 'em.

Did you not read the first post ?
It's possible to apply this ROM into HD2 ?
HD2 Android
I also would like to know if it is possible to make the HD2 run android system. Boy that will be great, I was eager to try an android phone, but, i liked the HD2 specs and if i can make it run both it will be great news.
i tried it and it doesn't work CustomRuu say that the ROM is not for my mobile

Pretty obvious since you found this in the TOUCH PRO 2 forum !
Works great with your Android Super Lite ROM. I ended up installing Gen.Y Dual Boot and full EnergyRom because Android port is still missing many features.
Thanks for the post to the MJG Android build. Works great except for the things you mentioned in the first entry.
this is sweet i have been running the android since mornin nd everything is solid stable and smooth but wifi n camera n other stuff doesnt work and my ringone works great job NRG
reserved for later fixes on android. tnx for building a light rom to run android hopefully more motivation is pushed on the development of android running on rhodium
Can any of you guys post some screen shots of the rom... Thanks
can u shine some light NRG
my questions is how does having a light bare windows mobile rom benefit running android? im not sure why i would want a striped rom over a regular rom to boot android off of...? does it allow more ram for when android boots up?

Hi, i'm new here on wildfire dev, but i'm pretty active on desire "scene"
my work so far can be seen here.

Related stuff http://www.baadnwz.eu/ my blog have some articles that apply here too l
My wife has a Buzz and asked to make her a ROM, so i gave it go. Here is the 1st version:
- based on RUU_Buzz_Froyrange_ES_2.34.75.1_Radio_13.55.55. 24H_3.35.20.10
- Rooted
- Deodexed
- A2SD (you will need an ext partition after the FAT one)
- latest busybox (1.18.3)
- All apks are optimized and zipaligned
- Default kernel for now - but [KERNEL][OC/UV][BFQ][AUFS][FTW][GPL] HCDR.Kernel v4.1 should work, I'll try to convince snq- (the one who made the desire kernel to make one for wildfire)
- Amend script syntax to work with all recoveries (minus 3xxxx one)
- hosts moved to /data/local for adfree
- bootanimation moved to /data/local
- all google apps updated to their latest version
- what i forgot
Changelog:
21 march - Removed beta tagged, after 10 days on missus phone, the rom didn't crashed once - rom is still the one from 11 march. I will not update the rom just to create the feeling that i'm working hard on it, i dont have what to update, no new kernel or base or hacks mods since 11 march. maybe only some new versions of market apps but those can be updated from market.
0.2
- Updated market to latest version
- Added 4n1 reboot menu
- Updated busybox to 1.19
- All market apps (gmail, maps, facebook, etc.) are install as user apps so you can remove update edit change.
- flash WITHOUT wipe. - is a 2.3 mB update flash over v0.1
0.1
- initial release
I cook my roms, trying to keep them as stock as possbile, with stability and speed in mind.
This is the 1st version which is a beta. I'm more familiar with porting stuff so i'll give it a go to wildfire s rom when i can and i'm more comfortable with wildfire

Nice to see other Senior Devs make a ROM for the Wildfire, normally is the other way round.
Good Luck on the ROM. It looks very promising for an initial release.
Welcome
Nice to hear about new rom. I'm very intrested about your work because at the moment is impossible to find a good rom.
hmm....very nice...can you put some printscreens ?
And can you give linpack test info ?
I need to try you rom, but this 2 infos I would like to know. If it's not a problem.
Tnx

probably my rom doesn't have as many features as older roms here, but i did this rom because after sometime, all other roms became laggish on the buzz. So for now better speed was my goal, and seems i accomplished it. try it and let me know

the looks is stock, but is deodexed so you can customize it with UOT.
i cant give you linkpack score, im at work and the phone is not mine so i dont have it with me. but as getting to know each other i dont care about benchmakers scores as long as roms feels smooth. and it does
from what i saw ppl here are obsessed with linkpack on desire they are with quadrant.
We can't use Quadrant in it's free version because we don't have a GPU, as simple as that

yes i know, i was merely trying to make a point, that ppl are obsessed by benchmarks, it is not a pc to run 3dmark on it and buzz surely is pretty limited as performance, so as long as a rom runs smooth and apks along with it i really don't understand why some scores are important to you, adding the fact that one is a score and most of the time is not reflected by reality.
Power of example for quadrant since i had to deal with obsession on desire thread.
free of quadrant version 1600 points on a2sd rom
paid of quadrant version 1800 points on a2sd rom
on data2sd 2500 points (due to fake i/o by emultation sdcard as nand)
on data2ext 3050 points (again same reason)
all this on the same rom (mine) same kernel only with the scripts changed.. funny thing .. all 3 version act the same in terms of speed in real life
The only value that would be usefull is the average FPS in common usage (Maybe one day google will include it?)
It`s nice to see devs coming to this platform!
Bine ai venit!
Hi Mate,
First of all .. Welcome to Wildfire section and thanks for creating ROM for us!
Hope you stay here longer
thanks for the warm welcoming hope someone will flash the rom and give some feedback. don't worry won't break ur phone, just do a nandroid backup before flashing in case you dont like it

Very professional Thread View...Welcome to the Wildfire Section, more and more devs are filling the wildfire section lately and that's a good thing!!!
Enjoy your stay, just downloaded beta version, already nandroided my CM7 RC2, and going to flash right now!
Will report feedback soon - Thanks for ur effort and time to share ur work with us!
Hooray for a ROM that includes that nice little boot jingle. I don't understand why all the other ROMs remove it. Still booting. Must await full verdict.
downloading it right now. I'll post feedback soon. Thanks a lot!
Tested it .. Worked fine .. No freezing .... Stable so far. IMO Need few work like a Reboot option .. Seems like the Market is not the updated version. The boot screen like stock one .. I like that one
Well done Mate .. Expecting lot of updates

[Q] Build own custom roms for Xperia X8

Hello Guys,
i want to build a custom Rom for the Xperia X8, i have running many custom Roms in the last Time at all roms...
- I Have installed the Android SDK on WIndows 7 an i have installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my Workstation @ Home...
- Where can i get sources for an Android release and the ROM-Kitchen...
thanks in advance...
you opened a thread in a wrong section!
I think...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1218
Questions And Answers
This is a thread for developers
First off, never post a question in the development section.
Second off, you are not the only one to ask this question so use the search button. It hangs there for a reason.
Third off, having set up a workspace doesn't mean you are ready to build a ROM. I assume you haven't either developed a simple app. How are you gonna make a whole system if you don't know how to make even an app? Go learn some computer languages first then come back here with your ROM and I'll be happy to install it.
Peace
nothing wrong if anyone who asking about making a rom...
Chris95X8 who are you to judge them in this website huh??
do you think that you are the clever one in this website??
Peace...

[NAND][pre-ALPHA] Kovsky ICS 4.0.3 testbuild0

Based heavily on TeamICS' work on HeroC, here is some very early initial work on ICS for the HTC Kovsky, AKA Sony Xperia X1. Built from AOSP source, with source available.
This is NOT for the faint of heart, and as far as I know nearly everything is broken right now. Instructions for building are coming soon - meanwhile, source is available at https://github.com/Zorlin with bits from https://github.com/CyanogenMod and https://github.com/TeamICS
Credits:
- TeamICS for all their ridiculously awesome work on Hero/HeroC
- CyanogenMod team, on which some TeamICS work is based.
- IceDroidV2 for the installer and current (slightly modded) kernel/boot.img - see IceDroidV2 thread for appropriate credits and source.
Currently working:
- Boots!
Currently not working:
- Everything else
- ADB
Notes:
boot.img is made from applying the ICS porting guide to IceDroidV2's boot.img
Currently there's a "hack" to attempt to get adb working - I threw in a copy of busybox as /system/bin/sh. Need to work out a better way, since it really didn't work...
I've got a bunch of ideas, but it's late, so... here:
DOWNLOAD:
testbuild0 - "The Magic ZIP File"
I can't believe it. OMG !!
BUT
Is it really ICS or just some skin for android 2.3 ?
X1 long live

It's really ICS, which is why so little works. Gingerbread kernel for now, though.
woooaaaahhhh.....i love u full to all developers x1 the brilliant smart man ....kovsky never die !!!!
Do you really think you have enough background knowledge to get this off the ground? Or is it more of a "lets see what I can do" thing?

Yes and no. I think I can bring it to the same state as HeroC, maybe sans camera, and port hardware acceleration if/when they get it working. Kernel isn't my forte, though. At the moment adb is a major and confusing stumbling block... I'm missing something stupidly simple.
can we install it or it's not ready yet
I installed it that we install IceDroid v2 but nothing happened
It was stuck in android boot

You install IceDroid V2 first and then overwrite it... but no, at the moment this is just for developers and tinkerers.
oh damn how nice would that be!!!!
go ahead zorlin an thx a lot for your work
Hi Zorlin how is going ur work ?
Slow... lots of real-life stuff going on. I'll probably publish build instructions on the weekend so others can start contributing.
Haven't forgotten you guys though.

Your signature shows that you have a own kernel for NAND for X1?
What is working etc? maybe you could share it, when it has benefits to the current published ones
EDIT: maybe you could join zargloub and midnight for kernel dev?

Hello @neoofoox.
Working everything except camera, fm radio and bluetooth (atm working on kernel to see where is problem).
Charging/discharging (at last I think it is ok as phone discharge within 20 hours->3.5 yrs old battery<- using push, wifi, bluetooth and location with 10-15 minutes of talking)
Also, phone wake asap You press power, ok or lock button (also with double security using pattern after normal unlocking)
I also don't think that this is right thread for something other than ICS work conversation.
When I got all things working proper, be sure that will make an new thread with image and patches to kernel.
BR,
Ramon
EDIT: Yeah, I will be happy to talk with @zargloub and @midnight regarding kernel.
EDIT2: Regarding sharing, I use only main system of Cyanogen but My own kernel, so as I say, until kernel completely work, I will not share it because of lot's of questions what users cannot fix until I fix holes inside kernel.
@fergy Last question ot jooc Does your phone reboots if you miss a call?
Sorry guys, I might be retiring my Kovsky... I'll publish build instructions and sources etc either way. If you don't hear back from me, assume I retired it
I'm getting fairly hopeful that you'll get decent ICS on the Kovsky soon though.
EDIT: Yup, it's official. I turned in my Xperia X1 in exchange for a free, off-contract Samsung Focus S (which I'm reselling) through the recent Microsoft promotion. I'll still have it for a week - I'm going to try and get ICS on it before then, but I don't really know what chances are like.
After that, I'll turn this over to someone else who can hopefully carry it through.

With these things working it is working perfectly, who need wifi if you can use mobile Data to access Internet and who needs bluetooth if you can send files via Email or connect your Phone via headphone port to your soundsystem etc..
I would test that if it becaume available and will report every bug etc. You could choose some people for testing which know something about that / for reporting bugs. So you can fix them and make the kernel 'perfect'.
Zargloub stopped developing and he has his files on gitorious so you could merge the kernels, here is working bluetooth and wifi (but it shows bad signal strenge)
Are you on github or gitorious so other devs can see what you are doing and maybe can help or people see what you are working on now.
I would love to test it, because for me it is allready perfect I hope we read something from you soon. You are our last hope
EDIT: sp3dev was also working on kernel you can get the sources here and here
EDIT2: I asked sp3dev if he would help, but he cannot for 2 reasons, first he has currently no time, the second reason is that he don't want to work on project which are close-source. Maybe you should think about releasing that before it is completely finished or make it open-source. Your device is old and that slow down the process a lot.

SOSA bringing rom to all 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 gingerbread devices

http://supremeosandroid.weebly.com/
Another hope to stay with salsa!!!
Sent from my HTC Salsa C510e using xda premium
should be interesting being as its based around cm7 lol...im gonna watch this
Well I contacted the dev of Sosa and told him for the support, the message was as
" Hi, my name is kunal, I have htc salsa ... ..as u may know we also have unlocked boot loaders, so we have developed odexed and deodexed roms from the Chinese and stock rom till now ......till now there are 20 roms I guess with 7 to 8 devs ..problem is we made roms from stock kernel and we don't know how to make custom one .....so we are in 2.3.3 and 2.3.5 versions ......we would like to support sosa and would like to bring the Sosa to salsa ...... As if salsa gets support, the x8 and chacha both will be supported, due to similarity ......we are trying to port cm7 but have not yet succeeded ...so it would be great if we get support from u all and make thousands happy!!!! Please reply as then I will inform other devs to contact u Thank you for ur time and support"
So he replied me back as,
" Supp dude! (Im kind of a casual talk kinda emailer just so you know in advance)! Thank you SOOO much for your SOSA support. Like Ive said to other people who have contacted me (and others I've contacted), SOSA will go towards ANY phone that can run a gingerbread Rom. If you want to, you can build CM7 from source (which is ten times easier than I thought, easier than porting IMO) the only prerequisite is that you need Ubuntu (I will give out links to some helpful tools at the end of this email). Please feel free to tell other devs to email me. I will not have a finished product as soon as I'd hoped simply because I cannot get in contact with my team at the moment. However, I understand that everyone has a life outside of development and so I do not fault them at all for this situation. I promise a product will come about as soon as possible. Lastly, if you know any other devs of other phones that are interested (my goal is to support 50 devices by the beginning of 2013, and support every 2.3 device by next summer. so we could support well over 100+ devices). Thank you for your interest
Helpful tools: 1. If you want to build cm from source you need the following (I will be using this tutorial very soon also)
A. Ubuntu 10.04 [http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/] (Do not use 12.04 because it doesn't currently support Sun Java 6 for some odd reason, I tried. Also, Cygwin is not the way to go either) -Make sure you have about 20 GB free for the Ubuntu, a typical GB build of CM will run about 6 to 10 GB of space, so just double it to be safe -Use this tutorial to build CM from source: http://www.adamwhiles.com/2012/03/15/how-to-build-cyanogenmod-from-source/
If you need any other help, I am here just for that! My email is ALLLWWAAYYSS connected to my phone so I promise unless I am swamped with something, I am fully contactable.
Thanks for the support man! "
So to all salsa devs, email him to support and for furthur steps to be taken .... Thank you
send from s***ty salsa
what is sosa anyway ?
Supreme os android means Sosa
Check the link in first post to know!
send from s***ty salsa
