OK, I'm new to all this, and very confused.
I am trying to flash to a new ROM, "Energy.RHODIUM.28244.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.DinikGlass.Feb.27.7z"
What specific steps, one by one, do I have to do to flash my phone with this new ROM? It looks like, to start with, I have to rename this file I downloaded, right? No thread has said to do that.
I have AT&T HTC Tilt II, Windows Mobile 6.5 (5.2.21887[Build 21887.5.0.86])
Manilla version 2.5.20133329.2
ROM version 2.10.502.4(93577) WWE
Radio version 4.49.25.95
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
PS, I've gone to threads that "Explain" how to flash, but they leave me with more questions than answers.
The file you downloaded is a 7-zip package. You need 7-zip to uncompress.
Read [Resources] Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs) for very detailed instructions on flashing a ROM.
Thanks for the info.
I'll download the 7-zip program, and uncompress the ROM to a directory.
I've downloaded the "HardSPL" and will run it with my phone synced.
Then I can run the RUU from the folder with the ROM?
Then I should have a phone with the cooked ROM on it and no bugs whatsoever, right?
And I notice you have the same ROM but the sencity version. Does this ROM not use HTC messaging? The main reason I hate the stock ROM is the HTC messaging. I saw on one of his threads he said his ROMs don't use it, a very good selling point.
hey: I'm a energy rom fan too
first of all ,you should find out that if you device is unlock ,which method is that 1,tune off device ,2,press the lower volume button and press the power button to enter the “3 color interface”,if there‘s any “olinex” word on that,it means you device is unlock ,and can be flashed the cooked rom like energy rom.
as to flashing,I recommend you use storagecard for flashing,’cuz this method is the easiest and less risky, the method as followed:
unzip the energy file and copy the "rhodimg.nbh" to your root of tf card, and enter the “3 color interface“ above metioned :
1,tune off your device,
2,press lower volume button ant power button,
3,wait for few second
4,you device will check out the rhodimg.nbh automatically,
5,if your device checked out the ”rhodimg.nbh“ existed, it will ask you to press the power button, then press it,
6,wait till process completes successfully ,
7, reboot you device

Please don't flame. I've tried using the search feature to answer my questions, but I can't find the information that I'm looking for.
I'm trying to flash: Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - ITsBlack to my TMo Wing. I'm following the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358615. Only I'm stuck and confused. The guide says:
Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Click to collapse
What the heck is an NBH file and where do I find it?
The guide then says:
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Click to collapse
. What is flightmode?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry, I'm a total noob at this, but I swear I tried using the search feature for about 30 mins to find the answer.
1) An NBH file is a flash file. It contains a portion, or all of a ROM. Meaning, it may include a radio rom and a system rom; or one or the other. You use it with the RUU (ROM Update Utility). The NBH is the ROM itself, the RUU is the Windows program used to load the ROM to the device.
2) Flight mode is simply all radio off mode aka airplane mode. Meaning your cellular radio, your wifi radio, your gps (if builtin), etc are all off.
This sub-forum is for the HTC Wings, not the Tmobile Wing. Please refer to that forum, or the Upgrading, Modifying, and Unlocking subforum with further questions.
P.S.
Unless it's been tested, I'd be hesitant to flash a Touch image to a T-Mobile Wing, since it's not an HTC Touch, unless you've heard it works or have an official RUU package (official NBH) to flash back to, and have run the HardSPL build for the T-Mobile Wing (so that your boot doesn't get screwed).

Hello xda
I've been following the flashing guide for my p3600i, but have hit a snag.
After flashing HardSPL 3.20 and the current radio ROM, I can't flash any cooked ROM's. Attempting to flash any ROM results in error code 270 after 1% and reboots the phone. I still have access to the original OS after it boots back up. I'm attempting this on Vista using the XP drivers for HTC USB Sync.
Any ideas?
Edit: I've read that I need to modify HTC p3600 based ROM's to work on the p3600i, but this information isn't listed in the stickied guide. Is this still accurate, and if it is, can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this?
The guides are up-to-date and have worked for many people.
Have you tried to boot to the tri-colour screen by holding down the power button, camera button and pressing in the bottom soft reset button all at the same time?
Do that and confirm you have Olipro's HardSPL installed properly.
EDIT: I think I know what your problem might be. When you flash a ROM, IGNORE THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PROGRAM YOU RUN.
Do this, AND ONLY THIS don't do anything else.
Enter the tri-colour flash screen manually on your phone (holding down the 3 buttons). when you get this screen, connect the phone to your computer. Confirm you see the phone display Olipro's HardSPL 3.20 as installed, and at the bottom once connected to the PC, USB as the connection.
From there, run the upgrade program to flash the ROM. Ignore the instructions on the screen and keep clicking continue.
That might be why youre having the problem - you need to ALREADY be in the tri-colour bootscreen before running the flashing program.
Good luck!
Ok, I definately need to patch p3600 ROM's to work on my p3600i. I've patched Mary's 3.7 Lite and that seems to have installed and booted, so I'm away.
Edit: I can confirm I was following the guide precisely, but it's a guide for Trinity P3600, not for P3600i. It doesn't mention the required patching (it really should). I can also confirm I have the correct HardSPL installed and it seems to working now. Someone needs to add a note for P3600i users to that sticky.
You don't need to patch anything.
There is a sticky in the upgrading section for P3600i ROMs that have been tested and are working. Use those and you won't have any issues (Y)
I just had a look and at the end the ROM Collection thread is mentioned. You obviously didn't read to the end.

I have EXACTLY the same problem as you.
Also I extracted the official ROM into a folder, then extract the cooked ROM 6.1 and get the .nbf (ROM only) file into the official extract folder and tried to flash. At this point the error says: error: NAND 128 is on this rom where the target (which is p3600i) is NAND 256.
so the structure of NAND is different that's why got error.
I saw the correction is to change 400 to 401 in the name of the os file and bake again. This may help but I don't know how to do it yet...

Um retard did you read what I wrote? You DON'T need to patch anything. Follow the flashing instructions, and IF you read them to the end you'll see it point to the ROM Collection link for the P3600i. For the ROMs linked to in this thread there is no flashing required - they're already done.
Don't call him a retard. I certainly read to the end and but Mediafire was down last night and I had to get the Mary 3.7 Lite ROM from the original Mary's 3.7 thread. This is why I had to patch them manually. The thread doesn't mention that the linked to ROM's are different then those in the original thread about each ROM, hence this is where I went wrong. If I had know the mediafire linked ROM's were different then the ones in each individual thread, I would have waited until mediafire was back up.
OK. Decided to upload a new ROM as my phone was getting slow and unusable.
It's an O2 XDA (Touch Diamond) with:
Touchflo v3 Build 29946
ROM 1.93.206.6 WWE
09/08/08
Radio 1.00.25.05
Protocol 52.29.25.12H
Boot R1.00.25.05
I downloaded Olinex's unsigned developer Hard SPL and I extracted the NBH file and renamed it DIAMIMG.NBH following the advice here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2707841&postcount=4035
On soft reset I pushed the vol down and back buttons to get the boot loader stripes, then let go.
I now have a screen which says "Loading..." and has done for 20 minutes. I have now got the phone on charge while I wait for some help to see what to do next, just in case this is a critical stage - don't want to brick it.
Reading through again I am concerned that this was a procedure for rom upgrade not Hard SPL install, can someone tell me please?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Well, I ended up taking the battery off to get it to reboot. It seems to boot fine back into the old ROM.
I still intend to upgrade it (to SwiftBL's v7.5) but have a few questions:
1. Can the HardSPL be run from the internal storage card? If so is it simply running the exe from the unpacked zip from within a folder? ActiveSync is a bit too flaky for me.
2. Do I need the SIM card in the phone at any stage of the ROM upgrade?
3. On the original ROM I get a drop down menu to setup the phone to the UK O2 network settings. If I load a new ROM, will I need to know these settings?
Cheers
1. HardSPL cannot be run from storage. Only Activesync or Bootloader
2. No. You can flash without SIM card
3. You can use connection setup on any new ROM. Usually starts straight after initial setup.
OK here's where I'm at now.
Downloaded jockyw2001's HardSPL 1.24
Ran it and it got as far as prompting me to run on the phone. I said 'Yes' and the HTC screen went black as expected.
Next stage was to run the DiamondCustomRUU.exe file which I did but this is waiting for ActiveSync. ActiveSync will not sync with the phone now, I guess because the phone is not 'on'?
Where do I go from here?
Use the Hard-SPL in my sig with your RUU.
Thanks, will do (it's not the one mentioned in the ROM author's description though).
So how do I recover the phone from the black screen now? Is it safe to remove the battery to reset?
Battery pulled after reading this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-427945.html
I'll try the SPL you mentioned now.....
Had a good search but can't find out. This Olinex zip contains just one file RUU_Signed.nbh.
Where do I get the other files from to run this?
use the attached . It has the RUU exe and the nbh.
Thanks. This is a signed version I see, was going to use SwiftBL's ROM which requires unsigned.
May take a look at other roms that use signed unless you think that I can load the SwiftBL rom with this version?
This is my first post
Ok i want to flash my phone for the first time and want to know if all my info is correct.
I want to flash my phone from the stock rom to the WM6.5 pure rom because my battery sucks and so does my signal, any idea if this will work for me???
heres the info i have:
" *** Flash X1 without PC - Micro SD Method ***
This is useful if you load a bad image and cannot make an activesync connection for RUU flashing method.
This method works for any 6.1 and 6.5, and even radio rom.
*** Some Kingston brand may have problem to use SD method, no solution other than use RUU method ***
0. Make sure x1 is hard-spl first
1. Make sure yr micro-sd is formatted w/ fat-32
2. rename the image file (normally "ruu_signed.nbh") to Kovsimg.nbh, copy that to the micro-sd,
and put that it yr X1
3. Make sure X1 is disconnect to your PC to avoid goes to serial mode (AC power source is OK)
4. Bring x1 to boot-loader mode by turning off the x1 completely. Hold the "volume down" button on the right,
and hold the power on button until you see the tri-color screen.
5. Then follow the on-screen instruction

Am i on the right track and is it recommendend i do this ?
First of all, update to official R3-rom via SE update service.
There you will get a new radio (signal strength).
After that, Hard-SPL your phone.
When that's done, yes, you can use the Micro SD method.
thanks a milllion so if u upgrade to this rom first like this is it ok ???
"1. download this: http://rapidshare.com/files/238466530/APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_UK_CDF1215-1832_KOV_R3AA010.exe then
2. rename the image file (normally "ruu_signed.nbh") to Kovsimg.nbh, copy that to the micro-sd,

3. Make sure X1 is disconnect to your PC to avoid goes to serial mode (AC power source is OK)

and hold the power on button until you see the tri-color screen.
5. Then follow the on-screen instruction"
because that is the R3 rom right ?
Just follow your instructions and flash to gtrab ROM first. then if your reception or battery doesnt increase, you can flash to a different radio version. The way to flash to a different radio version is the same method as ROM but u need to find the radio file. The radio file is also in the ROM developement section, all you need to do is search. I think the lastest radio file is 1.16 or 1.17. Good luck. Just post any questions and people will gladly help you.
PS: Once u start to flash different rom, it is addicting to try to different rom. Dont ask which rom is the best, every ROM has it positive and negative. YOu just got to try them all to see which one fit you the best.
so i downloaded the 1.16 radio and...
"Just extracted from new Korean R3BA015 Rom
http://rapidshare.com/files/25077333...1_16_25_48.zip"
did it this method!
"1. just copy the file *.nbh into the root directory of SD card and rename into kovsimg.nbh
2. Do the ordinary flashing (hold the bottom volume button and the power button until the flash screen appear)
3. Follow the next instruction"
its saying loading for 5 mins now , is this normal???
ok i never hard spl it first i think that might be the problem
im having a huge problem hard spl my phone can someone please guide me step by step thanks
1. State problem
2. Follow this for HardSPL'ing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218

You would definitely be on 2.1, just not sure what your build number is.
I don't recall if its in 2.1 but, can you go to your Settings Tab\About Phone\Software Info? The build is listed there.
If you don't have About Phone on your settings tab, you can install TD2 Tools which will also tell you your build#.
As I recall 2.1 was easier to theme, so most 2.1 tweaks should work, regardless of build#.
In 2.5, they constantly changed the manila file names with different builds.
it says on td2 tools that its
2.0.37905.0
so i take it that its 2.1
yeah?
I noticed it was wrong on my ROM as well.
That number is virtually useless, sorry.
You're on the stock ROM with WM6.1, you definitely have manila 2.1.
2.1 has programs tab, 2.5 has program shortcuts on home tab.
k thanks
what version of cht should i download then
because you recommended that to me to change themes

I'm not sure CHT supports 2.1. The main tweak is to add program shortcuts to home tab, which is 2.5, it has additional functionality to customize home tab appearance.
Since 2.1 is older and XDA is about "cutting edge" there is not a lot of ongoing support for 2.1
Here's a start
If I were you, you'll be much happier, I would look into flashing a custom ROM with 2.5 and CHT cooked in.
how the heck do i do that

Start here
Then here
The first thing and hardest thing you have to do is Hard SPL.
This unlocks your OS so it can be overwritten.
It is only difficult because the developers have added a function that checks your IMEI# against their database and will likely force you to donate.
I was able to get it to work manually, but other's I have tried to help had to donate. It's always good to donate to chefs and developers, but IMO if its required, its a fee not a donation.
Just a quick education;
When you flash anything, ROM, SPL, Splash screen, etc. the base file is an .nbh file.
There are 3 ways to flash an .nbh file.
1. RUU.exe. You find this program for Topaz, unzip it to a folder, place the .nbh file into the same folder, sync to your PC and run the .exe. This is the method I use exclusively and it has always worked for me.
2. Flashing from SD Card, With this method, you place the .nbh file on the root of your FAT32 formatted SD card, put the phone into bootloader mode (when phone is off, hold power and volume up keys until tri-colored screen appears) and it will flash from SD card.
3. Auto Installer. Typically the .nbh will be packaged into an .exe and installed via active sync. You will only see this with stock ROMs and the HSPL autoinstaller.
Again, it doesn't matter what you're flashing, ROM, SPL, etc. the process is the same.
For HSPL, download the enablenewrapi.cab, RUU, 2.51.nbh and 1.83.nbh files and try to flash as I have listed above(in order of preference)
2.51 is the latest and you want to flash this one, I am just not sure if 1.83 is a prerequisite. Most including, myself already had 1.83 flashed when 2.51 was released. So try 2.51 first, if it fails, try 1.83, then 2.51
Make sure to copy and install the enablenewrapi.cab to your phone first!
Worse case scenario, your flash gets stuck at 0% or it stays on tricolored screen and you just reset to get your device back. Most common errors...
If you get progress screen and it says it completes, make sure to go back into bootloader mode and it will show what SPL you have installed. It should list 2.51.Olinex, the suffix is important.
If you have not successfully unlocked your device and attempt to flash a cooked ROM, you will brick your device.
I can't guarantee that it will work, because I haven't been able to get it to work for others (I think its rigged now). You would just need to try the autoinstaller donate the 4gbp (which is well worth it), and open a service ticket if needed as stated in the HSPL thread.
Then you go ROM shopping....
