Hi,
I'm using deodexed rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790 , and speedmod for JVO from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1044519
In description to speedmod author says that the kernel supports custom boot animations, but rom support is required to make it work.
I'm not sure what the "rom requirement" means. Does anyone know?
Can I just upload bootanimation.zip to /system/media?
At the moment it doesn't work - when I do so, then the boot animation is actually changed, but not to my uploaded animation, but to "fail safe" animation, which is simple "android" text shining.
Do I do something wrong, or do I need some special support from rom (except for my kernel which supports it)?
hi everybody,
I have SGS Baseband Version I9000XXJVT 2.3.5 - Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVT-CL617736 [email protected] #2. I root my sgs with CF-Root 4.3.
I am trying change boot animation on my phone. But boot animation appears on phone boot and it isnt close itself. Phone is open, but i dont see my home. I dont use anything, only bootanimation appear. For example, i call myself at another phone, my phone is ring but, i dont see anything on screen because bootanimation still loop.
i try on ADB, on SdCard with filemanager. i use /data/local folder, /system/media folder but i dont solve my problem.
I want to use JVT, because too stable for me . please help me. Sorry for my bad English.
i solved my problem guys. My kernel is stock kernel. I dont know this, now i update my kernel with semaphore JVT_1.9.1.bm and now custom bootanimation work fine.

I do not know if cf-root supports custom bootanimation (it should i guess) but anyway i suggest you to use odin and flash a kernel which supports custom bootanimation (i suggest semaphore kernel). I guess that will work!
Plus you will gain more things in comparison to cf-root such as voodoo, bln, speed,oc and more!
Another solution would be to delete the bootanimation (a have a cwm zip for that, guess you can find one too). But flashing a new kernel would be better!
EDIT: glad you solved it!
If you want a lot of nice bootanimations, I would recommend 'Rom Toolbox' by jrummy.
You can just download it on the market
loads of bootanimations...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053250#
I consider myself quite knowledgeable at flashing etc but while devloping my app (Carbon Tweaks) I have experinced something i havent seen before. If i try to boot into recovery normally its cwm. And by any other method thats where i go. But recently most likely after one of my flashes if i use a piece of code in my app to tell recovery to flash a zip on reboot into it, it boots me into a weird mess. The image in the centre is a combination of about 4 different recovery images (From previous kernals) and the progress bar is a mass of multicoloured lines. My flash errors with a status 7 and the menu for stock recovery comes up with onlt the normal Un-cwm options. If i then click reboot system it will hang until i hold down the power and on turning backon with reboot into cwm recovery.
I literally have no idea what it is o.o I'm able to flash fine in regular cwm, Some zips flash fine in the weird stock mess so any help would be great
I'm on liquid smooth with franco r4 for the record
Not sound in bootanimation at first boot
Hello,
I have a Stock ROM deodexed by me, from firmware.
It works OK, but I have a problem that I do not know how to fix it.
At first boot, after install, I have not sound in bootanimation.
I saw that in /system/etc the power.ogg file is changed in power.ogg.backup
If I add another power.ogg in system/etc I have sound in bootanimation, and I have no more problems at next boots.
I made several attempts.
For example, after the first install i have added a flash bootanimation.
But after being loaded system, the file power.ogg becomes power.ogg.backup.
It is about a S5830 Stock ROM. It is my project.
How can I fix this?
Thank You.
i tried pulling/pushing bootanimation with adb, also im rooted so i was manually swapping custom bootanimation but every time i do it, im facing evox animation or stock android animation. Is aosp the problem? What am i doing wrong?
