Hello,
i have read that some people have got the final version of the phone.
How is the quality of the camera in this final version? In some reviews the quality was not so good.

The answer is no, but even though they mention 720p in other roms that doesn't really exist.
The 720p on my Nexus One on CM doesn't really records very well.
Not working on the HD2..
Makes my HD2 to freeze..
the quality of the camera makes it not possible

Ummmmm no, its been done on WP7 for the HD2.
720p or not, HTC cameras - yes even the Desire HD - suck to the point of making me want to cry.
I'd prefer if ROM chefs took the option of 720p (along with 'switching camera' from the menu altogether, to prevent force closes and slowdown. The fact that the HD2 doesn't record 720p somehow just reminds me of how My old 3Gs does video better than a 720p camera on ANY HTC ever could....shameful.
Luckily I love the HD2 because of it's lovely build, screen and openness.
And the camera flash makes an excellent torch.
Sorry for the offtopic, but imo, htc hd2 camera is excelent for me.. On summer seaside,or winter skiing i make good pictures with my hd2.. And there is nearly no dofference between Hd2 camera and DHD camera.. Ive compared it.. 3 mpx more is just marketing trick.. Objcetive and senzor size is pretty much same, and i dont see diffrence in pictures.. To recap,i really like my HD2 camera..
And for the theme, i hope that devs will develop rom with 720p recording..

There are a few threads specific to camera. You can find plenty of information there.
Hi! I don't mean just the interface, I mean photo quality as well. (In Oreo, the XZ2c is clearly superior...)

Now that I bit the bullet and newsflash'ed to Pie, I can answer my own question. It's the new interface, but quality is just as mediocre, clearly worse than the xz2c. No improvement in quality.

Perhaps, but I do not really care very much about that. That's a very limited improvement in a rather gimmicky scenario.
I was referring to photo quality generally, which remains clearly inferior to the XZ2c (which is my standard of what I would settle for). Noise reduction is poor, with smudged details, and exposure is lacking in many cases.
Otherwise, the cam app interface is an improvement too over the previous version.
Camera performance on the XZ1c sucks. No change with PIE. I had better pics with my z5c.

If I understood correctly, the Pie version doesn't work for XZ1 Compact (yet?)...

The lens and the software have very little to do with the quality of the pictures you take. Just because you pay top dollar for your camera/phone camera, doesn't mean you will take good pictures.
I bet you still have it set to 'auto'

Are you on Pie? How did you install the mod? In the mod thread many people are saying it doesn't work.

Is this a joke?
Why do people buy expensive lens for DSLRs instead of sticking with the default cheap lens then?
Of course it's not just the lens, but what you wrote makes no sense.
Either way, XZ1 (Compact) has absolutely pathetic and ****ty camera and I regret every second of my decision when I was looking for a new phone and bought this piece of crap. My next phone will definitely NOT be anything made by Sony - if only because of the camera.

If the pictures look so bad perhaps you should switch to using the back camera
I've got a Nokia 8 , a z5c and a xz1c.
The Nokia makes very good pictures with gcam app.
Both sonys makes horrible pictures.
Hey guys, I am curious, how is the photo quality on Pie?
Of course compared to Note 9 Oreo.
Thanks
What I want to know is, if anyone who had the "zoom in and camera starts vibrating and won't focus" bug, does Pie fix this?

The quality is outstanding. Absolutely better quality, I'm sure of it. PQ, scene optimiser, DR. Especially the video. 4k60 flawless. On Oreo, my video was choppy and unusable.

You might want to take a wider sample of opinion from other users experience only because I read (including on this forum) that the pie update did not resolve the camera issues you talk about.

No no, it was someone else with the issues... I am just curious, cause I had the N9 before, but was unimpressive. Now I have the Mate 20 Pro and was wondering if I can go back to Samsung..
i have to say i took a picture yesterday of the snow it was dark with just street lighting, and when i looked at it i said to myself, holy crap thats good, its the first time ive been impressed with the samsung camera myself

I sincerely hope this is the case across board. I have been a note user from 1st gen device and would hate to ditch cos the camera is an important part of my work
The photos I've taken so far with this phone look absolutely great, no questions.
However I wonder what the reason why they haven't included EIS on here? It's only a software fix so hopefully they can make this even better in the future?
Interested to hear what other people think.
I hope EIS is coming up in next update, the camera is so good, video and picture quality also, but the stabilization camera need an improvement
OIS would have been great. Also, I think you're on the wrong forum
Why is that?
EIS is off when using 4K60fps for now.
I think it's off for everything at the moment was the point I was making.
Would be good to see them including it as an option in a future update!

On my EEA Model and Global 10.2.17 Rom, EIS is very good on 4K30 Videos and off in 4K60.
How can you tell it's on?
