[Q] Best ROM on Milestone? - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Hi, my question is simple but the answer could be an entire book...
Since we can no longer trust Motorola and their crappy customer care (don't want to waste time to say those things again, all of you know what I'm talking about )
I had a look over the Internet to understand which ROM is suitable for an upgrade, but now I am confused :
there are a lot of ROMs out there, and I don't have time to test each one (more, I have only this phone, if I brick it, or block it due to an unusable ROM I have to fix it asap.).
Is there a fully working unofficial ROM with a better performance than the stock one? (with flash and app2sd?)
I understand that the locked bootloader isn't helping on this, but I'm interested in the full features of my smartphone: if camera doesn't work for example, for me it's a shame (either if everything else works flawless..).
I am root already if that can help...
Thank you in advance
Pol.

Bro, try shadowmod b3,
I have used froyomod, cm6, hobomod and shadowmod,
I can undoubtedly say that shawdowmod b3 is the best one,
Advantage:
OK battery life, never lag, stable
Disadvantages:
Aggressive autokill
(but would not affect music player, doesn't matter to me)
SMS notification light doesn't work
Sent from my A853 using XDA App

be experimental
its a question of what u personally prefer...
aesthetic appeal,lag,bugs gotta be considered..
i use the beta CM6.1.2 milestone port...
its a lill(very lil) laggy but everythin seems to work flawlessly
plus the cpu is overclocked to 900mhz. which is favourable
try diff roms and choose ... but be sure to make a backup of what u already have

I am using for about two weeks ShadowMod B3 and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Pros :
- fast ;
- ~stable ;
- no battery problems (1d and ~15 hours - moderate use).
Cons :
- can't listen music and play in the same time (player is killed) ;
- some problems with the gallery and with the camera (specially when pressing the camera button) ;
- about ~3 restarts per week (surely the problem is the ROM and not my OC).
BTW , my SMS notification works (green light blinking). :-?
Comparing this to what I've already used (stock Eclair , CM 6.1.2), this is pretty cool, but it would be much nicer is the agressive autokill could be removed.

Thank you for your answers
I saw an outstanding performance of Quadrant on a shadowmodded milestone on Youtube, but I am worried by those bugs: as I can see there are different bugs on different milestones (how is it possible? aren't they sharing the same hardware? )
What do you mean with "Aggressive Autokill"? No multitasking?
while the cons mentioned by Abazel are not reassuring
The little lags on CM are the only issues? I read somewhere that you can no longer mount the SD card via USB and that there are some problems with camera too.
How about random reboots with this ROM?
Thank you again
Pol.

CM 6.1.2 was pretty stable for me but I was a bit laggy (not very much and was ~the single problem I found). ShadowMod b3 it's a bit weird - it works downloading and playing something at the same time but I can't listen to music and play simultaneously - the player is killed => the music starts singing => stops again (thing which could have been done easily under CM 6.1.2). These days I am encountering several problems (restarts or freeze at "Gallery"). I don't know what is the problem. With the SD card i don't have any issues at all... works fine for me. So, if you want improved stability, go for CyanogenMod 6.1.2. If you want a "bumpy ride" , try ShadowMod. ) Have a nice day!

Thank you,
I assume that these are the two best options.
I wonder if CM7 is already stable enough or if it's better to use CM6 since it's already stable.
BTW I believe that ****ijsood is right, I have to be experimental. Just need to find some spare time to waste on this...

Yep, the main problem of shadowmod b3 is the aggressive autokill,
Because of this feature, the phone never lag.
Some think that this autokill is disturbing coz they are used to listening to music and at the same time play game.
But as I never do that, this autokill wouldn't disturb me.....
As this phone has limited ram, there is always a tradeoff....
I am not saying that cm6 is not good. It has the best features and widgets.
But I just cannot stand the laggy feeling

If the Autokill would affect only "heavy" apps like games and music players, maybe it's not so bad.
I think I'll give Shadowmod a try, I can always change again if I find it too buggy.
Thank you for your answers

polengo, or others, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was wondering if there are any 'improved" ROMS out there now for the MM1.
I recently acquired a Milestone (3-4 months) running Eclair and it's been kind of quirky. Random freezes, random reboots, laggy, when bluetooth or headphone is disconnected the music player starts on its own. Battery life has been quite good stock, with light to moderate use.
Thanks.

Cm7 for me has been the best. I have had one random reboot in the past couple weeks. runs smooth, and the battery life is as good as any other rom ive tried.

Well, right now, I think the best rom around is latest CM7 or HONOmod. Although, you might want to give a try to CM6 or Luca's froyomod, if you need an extra piece of ram. The only drawback with froyo based roms right now is the lack of active development. You have to face that MM1 is an old piece of hardware right now!
Enviado desde mi Milestone usando Tapatalk

The CM9 Alpha runs quiet smooth.
I use it in my daily life.

Trying to install HO!NO! using clockworkmod and keep getting (error 7). I am not seeing this error with other roms. I tried toggling the signature verification and that only pushed the error back a few more seconds. Should I move the file out of openrecovery directory and place it in the nandroid directory and ask Nandroid to perform a backup using the HO!NO! zip file? In other words, should I use your zip as a backup and not as a rom? I look forward to checking your ROM out. The buzz is pretty exciting. Thanks.
**Edit**
My bad, wrong thread. please delete.

[Q] Where is RC1-7.0.0-11.02.18 CM7 for Milestone?

I see in the Dev forum that the first RC1 of Cyanogenmod 7 for Milestone is available, but when I go to download it here, it doesn't seem to be available. I guess it would be called update-cm-7.0.0-RC1-0.07-11.02.18-Milestone-signed.zip but that last one available was the 11.02.15 release. Does anyone know whether the RC1-7.0.0-11.02.18 has been withdrawn for some reason?
I've been testing each and every build with good success, so I'm really keen to try the new one. I would ask in the dev forum, but I'm relatively new at the XDA forum and am therefore not eligible to post in it.

Well, I eventually found the correct download link at https://github.com/downloads/nadlabak/android/update-cm-7.0.0-RC1-0.07-11.02.18-Milestone-signed.zip
Thanks,

How is it working out so far? I've recently just started using cm6 but I don't want to install too much / get invested in it if CM7 is solid enough to use day 2 day.

I would stick with cm6 for now. CM7 could use many improvements and as of now is very memory hungry (I was on the feb.10 release). CM7, however, has many bug fixes that are not implemented in cm6, for example, the wifi fix (wasn't working with some n routers before I think [depending on the security type or something] ) and it seems as though there is also the random freeze + random reboot fix (using another, older kernel) I would not switch to CM7, until many bugs are fixed. Also some games don't work.

It's great. But video playing not working for me.
So I installed CM7 to try it out, and on RC1 my videos play fine (widescreen) using the included "Video" app. Well most of them do, one of them is displayed 4:3 for some reason?
I'm finding that it works quite well. Battery life is good, but there are a few bugs that need working out. CM6 is probably better if you need your phone to be 100% reliable, but I like to push the boundaries and play around.
Bugs or missing features so far:
- Button lights and keyboard backlight not working properly for me (and at least one other user here)
- Auto backlight brightness not working for me at all
- Volume button swapping/remapping not yet implemented, so that in lanscape mode left means louder (which is the wrong way round for me)
- Memory usage is a problem, so that Launcher pro keeps having to re-initialise
- Camera is VERY unreliable
- Getting random reboots and lockups, especially in Google Maps
Still, things are getting better with every release and I can always go back to CM6 if I want, since I made a Nandroid backup in OpenRecovery before I installed the CM7 update. I've just installed the RC2 update, so lets see how that goes...

Overclock Kernel for G1 w/ CM6 32B?

I cannot find one... I just want it to be a little more faster, at least overclock to 600-680? I am getting a bigger battery so battery life shouldn't be a problem, I need it to be stable and non buggy.
PLEASE help, I have posted threads here and barely anyone responds. Please and thank you.
HTC Dream(T-Mobile G1) 32B, with CM6.1.
Have you tried here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698578?
By the way, G1's have not been proven very stable much beyond 578mhz.

I guess I am just looking for a little speed bump and a MAJOR battery improvement, it barely lasts long with OEM battery. From 99 to 80 in a good 30 minutes, the hell?
For battery life on a G1, your best choice right now is Farmatito's kernel. I can go at least 24 hours with either barebones CM 6.1 or Froyo by Laszlo. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010932

I am using the kernel by ezterry, it's running pretty smoothly, how does this compare?
It is an improvement. Farmatito has managed to squash the usb battery drain bug. In standby, I lose 1% or less an hour. (No wifi, gps or bluetooth).

Alright biggest question, what is the most stable Sense ROM, I am talking like it runs as smoothly as you would think it's a new device on the market... I don't care if it has Froyo or Eclaire, it just has to work, as I enjoy eye candy, but I NEED speed. The browser on CM6 is just really slow... I know it's partially because this is a 32B device, but there has to be a better ROM, SPEED I need the fastest speed while still keeping the whole stability and pretty thing.
Any suggestions? Cause' as of now, I don't think I wanna be sticking with CM6 sadly. That and the best kernel you have ever found...and I will be happy
Please and thank you
I have no experience with Sense ROMS. Sorry.
I have been experimenting with just what you are looking for...something fast and stable that best uses my available RAM and meets my needs. I've tried most of the Froyo ROMS and have settled on two: barebones CM 6.1 and barebones Froyo by Laszlo. Right now, I'm running CM6.1.
I've made a script that installs a very tiny Gapps file with just what I need and takes out what I don't, including:
delete("/system/app/Protips.apk", "/system/app/RomManager.apk", "/system/app/CMWallpapers.apk", "/system/app/Facebook.apk", "/system/app/LatinIME.apk", "/system/app/LatinIMETutorial.apk", "/system/app/Twitter.apk", "/system/app/Gallery3D.apk", "/system/app/LiveWallpapersPicker.apk", "/system/app/Music.apk", "/system/app/DSPManager.apk", "/system/app/YouTube.apk", "/system/app/CMStats.apk", "/system/vpnservices.apk", "/system/app/VoiceSearch.apk", "/system/app/VoiceDialer.apk", "/system/app/PicoTts.apk", "/system/app/SpeechRecorder.apk");
I also delete all the ringtones I don't use and use a static bootanimation instead of the CM version. That leaves me with 25-28MB of RAM consistently, running no compache, swap or JIT and all apps internal. I also have custom MTD at 80/2 and have about 45MB of leftover space. Works well for me!

I removed a lot the apks that you listed, I am sure that I won't notice it too much seeing as I already overclocked to a good 614(don't notice anything wrong). I removed the software keyboard as I already have the Gingerbread keyboard, which is much better in my opinion, plus I already have the hardware keyboard anyways. The File manager was something I didn't need too, already used Astro and Root explorer. Rom Manager is extremely pointless because I don't even have CWM anyways so I couldn't use any of the features in the app. I listen to music a lot, use facebook quite often(even though it works very slow, I use it to sync contacts) and sorta want to keep the youtube app.
Thanks for the advice, if there is anything else, please do tell, because I feel this can go faster.

[Q] CM10 too much for I9000 ?

Hi everyone
Recently, i've updated my i9000 from cm9 to cm10. But i found it a little bit laggy, there is too much data run in the background and my phone can't just handel it. Some app don't work anymore (i have some message after an unsuccefull update saying "out of memory").
Do i have to wait for further updates or should i go back to the latest CM9 ?
PS: Is there any tips to prevent the shuting down signal problem with the i9000 ?
Hey,
I've had the same feeling about CM10 being laggy on my I9000. Hopefully it's just another bug.
And it is a well known issue that some apps aren't still running yet.
I went back to CM9.1 which runs really smooth. I'm gonna wait for a CM10 stable version and check if it's still laggy.

Yust move apps to SD, CM10 has a new partition layout.. That solve the problem of low space
Try elitemovil rc12.1 which is faster and smooter than stock sgs3
GT-I9000 cihazımdan Tapatalk 2 ile gönderildi
You should try the new nightlies, hardly any lag at all.
All jellybean roms get laggy no matter what you do, I tried most of the JB roms and I used HellyBean for a while with super launcher (a custom supercharge for galaxy s) and it kept working fine because somehow by flashing a new rom version often the phone would stay fine (wasn't just wipe cache and dalvik)
But I'm now back to ICS because even if most of the time the phone is doing fine, when you need it the most it starts failing even overclocked at 1.4 and with performance mode and swap, so I will wait 11 days and buy the nexus 4 !
Jelly bean runs fine on my phone to be honest. No lag or nothing. Only ROM that's ever lagged is hellybean.

On X-Bean 3.0 + Semaphore 2.5.0s here. LiveOc 120, ondemand ui, noop/sio, big mem 404mb, rasd 1024. Running smooth & stable here. No lag, reboots etc whatsoever

My experience is the exact same as the one you quoted.
I believe the clue to having a stable jb is to avoid most of the non-vanilla settings. I.e people come in various jb threads claiming bugs and unstability, while having oced, deep idle, custom kernels with experimental settings, not having wiped, flashed the wrong package - lots of issues that are experimental and not stock and stable.
The question of what is stable is relative, but I'm convinced that the ability to read, knowledge, proper flashing and simple logic would help avoid 9 out of 10 "unstable" jellybean experiences.
I am aware this might come over as a bit condescending, and I guess that's partially true, but it's not directed at any particular person here.

people, CM10 is the best. I've never had such a great rom, I mean, the SGS I is old, but with CM10, oh boy... I've never had such a good battery life, such a smooth rom, and non laggy ( helly bean was a disaster, it lagged a lot and very few updates).
Well, here is my settings:
-> CM10 latest nightly
-> JB hugemem patch (391mb ram and 720p recording still working)
-> Rom Slimmer
-> Semaphore kernel 2.5.0s:
.......- oc 1140 MHz

i cant believe that so many ppl are busting HB.
laggy disaster?
first of all, HB is a CM10 too.
and beside this HB isnt laggy!
sometimes it depends on the phone, cos a SGS1 is not a SGS1. so many differences available...
best is, just try some JB ROMs and decide for urself!
I never had problems with CM10 . Run smooth .
I think is the best ROM i had experienced on my SGSI .
I installed slimbean (cm10 based) recently on my i9000m and its a tad laggy when I am pushing it but overall its better than the last stock GB rom that I had been on for a long time (got tired flashing this and that). And its stable too. Overall the switch has been nice, for the main reason that I have less of a desire for the SGS 3 (hey there's always the 4 one day right?)
My experience with cm10.1 has been roller coaster. To day it is fast and smooth but yesterday it is leggy and gets stuck. I frequently get popups of applications not responding etc. The i click wait and it gets done.
Before you throw me with rotten tomatoes let me give you the steps that i followed.
Got a brand new i9000 from from a warranty claim a month ago.
Flashed cm10.1 nightly using Cwm after having to work around a few bugs with the new heimdall program not being compatible. But with CWM on I no longer needed the pc.
Download a nightly (26 Feb)
So did a factory reset and wiped everything. Flashed cm10.1 nightly again just to make sure. Then loaded a modem that seems to work for my area. The modem is a XXJVR and is a ICS modem. then flashed Google app for jb 4. 2.2.
Rebooted and logged in. Restored all my sms using sms+ backup and restore
Installed all my preferred application from play Store.
It started nice but soon became slow and large.
So I updated to 10.1m2. Same problem.
At this moment it is workable. It takes about 6 counts to respond to changing from portrait to landscape. If i turn it one the home screen takes about 2 counts to get updated and responsive.
Holding the home button gives you the recent application list. It takes about 2 counts to respond with a vibration and then 2 to 3 more counts before the menu pops up and the list of recent applications have been populate. I don't know if this is normal but 5 counts feels forever when you decide to do something and need to wait for the system to be ready.
I am not over clocking and I am running no custom kernels.
The notification bar at first comes down in jumps. If i do it again it is smooth.
But the biggest frustration is typing. The lag between presses and haptic feedback seems to be random. It is always under a half a second but when you want to type you never know if it got the press or not. Just as you think you need go repress the letter updates.
Battery life is also erratic. Yesterday the phone was uncomfortable hot in my pocket all day. Battery did not make 14h. Today it is cool and it is at 73 % for 9h.
The main battery life is taken by android OS and screen. Not calls or any of the chat apps that I use. Yesterday Android OS took half my battery life.
Going to apps the zoom is jumpy and sliding jumps. If i do it again it is smooth.
And today is a good day.
Any suggestions what I can do to improve the performance? Except getting a new phone.
H
I don't think I can quite relate to that, my phone runs CM10.1 quite well...
Had to be said though that I can feel my phone struggles running it, pushing the limits pretty hard.
My phone has the slow RAM, unfortunately, I'm sure a lot of the people posting stories of glory are ones with the faster version.
That said, I could never in a million years go back to an earlier version, I know my phones limits and work around them without too much trouble, mainly browsing (using Chrome) is the one thing my phone struggles with.
But regarding your erratic phone behavior, have you installed a startup manager and better battery stats?
Android battery stats doesn't always do a very good job of reporting exactly what apps or background processes are draining over time...

It been quite some time now, but have you been able to fix your erratic behaviour? Cause I'm experiencing something similar.
I tried Slim JB & Fishears Rom so far. Right after flashing, without any apps, the roms seem to be running smooth but Slim JB soon became laggy so I tried out Fishears Rom which seemed to behave smoothly even after installing some apps.
But after several month of usage the system slowed down almost as much as it was with Slim JB.
As both of them are based on CM I guess it's a general problem that the SGS 1 just can't handle the new Rom + big amout of apps. Sometimes it runs relatively smooth if I cleared RAM etc and didn't start any apps, but as soon as I for example listen to music in the background everything just becomes laggy :-/
I guess after 3 years my SGS1 is just too old now^^

Hi. No I gave up. My first SGS1 was amazing and did not behave like this. I think it had faster ram. Due to some issue it was replaced under warranty. The replacement looks the same but it is very frustrating. I am running stock rom now 2.3.4 with almost nothing installed. But it find that it is a pain. Calling takes long to actuality start to dial. The screens are smooth but when you do things. Like flip between apps or go to dialler it is almost unusable.
I think Samsung release more expensive variations in the beginning and then keep the look the same but drop the cost of the handset to the end.

What is best CM10 or ICS? Your thoughts and opinions welcome.
Especially regarding a daily use rom. What experince with H/W acceleration in both especially with gameloft gaming.
Glitches pros and cons for both roms?
What's your experience?
Here is mine
CM10 nightly.
Very buggy camera kills it for me for starters.
Odd lockups and random freezing.
Games work fine and external sd can be swapped with internal very easy.
Bluetooth okay
Wifi okay
Calls messy at times with noise dropouts.
Browser lockups
Sms fine
Battery poor life
ICS 28g Steffans build with clockwork nv flash partition.
Superb camera no issues.
Some slowdows in general but nothing to hard to improve or live with.
Games from gameloft run great so far.
Bluetooth ok
Wifi Seems to need turning on off every so often.
Calls again messy at times with loss of radio.
Browser lockups and hanging.
Sms fine
Battery Poor life at times then great at others. Very strange battery behaviour.
So what's you'r experiences?
I'am on cm10 for long time, have almost no issues but like you said cam is awfull
Is camera in ics leaks really soo much better like you said?Good camera is a must for me couse i take alot of pic's and record video much Tnx
I have been using both CM10 and ICS on mine, and I found that CM10 is smoother but ICS is way more stable of course. The cameras...I haven't found a difference but that's just me. I like a lot of ICS features, and miss some from CM10 too but I guess it's all right.
I'm currently running ICS for about a week or so and no problems at all.
As far as i know, until now, i liked to use ICS fresh from kdz..because i dont want my phone don't have basic function as a phone and i dont want stuck with GB..

Never had call issues on any rom so i can't comment on that part...
For me cm10 is much faster then ics i have tried but ics has better camera and looks nicer..
Can't wait for our devs to start kanging cm10
CM10 is the best ROM by far, but the problem Ive been having with no audio in calls made me switch fo ICS. Its not as fast as CM10, but at least ppl can hear me now =D
Have been using the stock ICS rom by tonyp, and I must say that it's great so far.
I have random restarts maybe like once every 3 days, probably due to low ram or my V6 supercharger script..
Camera works fine, I don't really use it though.
Fast, fluent scrolling and stable, no call problems.
The only problem I have is, Chrome and the stock browser lags like mad.. And I have no idea why.
Does anyone know why?
both rom gud,
camera also ok for both. just focusing bug on cm10, and low bit rate on ics video camera.
battery bug on both.
no call issue on both Rom for me.
hardware acceleration have some bug on both.
conclusion both Rom require further bug fixing(they are on their way i think)

I was on Temasek's CM7 Kang wanted to try ICS So First i tested Cm10
No Audio in calls meant i had to change , then came V28E by stefan
then shifted to V28G
Good Things
Camera is very good as compared to CM7
No audio issues on V28E/G although this happened to me once in few calls but it was back to normal in no time.
ICS is a good change, was bored using GB plus lockscreen is good.
Issues
Stock browser is near unusable, others work fine(i use opera mini).
I do notice strange behaviour with the battery sometimes, Wifi drain is hell of a lot compared to Cm7 but do tell me if anyone of u have noticed i think the battery drain on 3g is less with these new roms as compared to CM7
it is less smooth than CM10 but is bearable besides its not like there's a choice who wudnt wanna use CM10 but till the Call issue is sorted i am gonna continue with this one.
i really really miss the Led light notifications on Whatsapp, sms, missed calls, any alternative for that?
i really really hate when it starts to scan media 10 fkin times day, any alternative?
What is the best Threads are not allowed on XDA.
HELP , im using CM10 and i cant conect to my Google account,so no google play as well, dont have the option add google account just e-mail and corporate account.Haven't done a factory reset so i still have my app's from CM7.2,most works great
LOVE the camera app especially video focus in macro, but battery life is bad,
I think I speak for everyone when i say that the main reason people use V28 over CM10 is the call audio bug. I'm using V28E (I dont know the difference between the E and G so if someone would kindly explain the pros and cons) and it is significantly slower than cm 10 but still fairly usable. But honestly, cm10 is BLAZING fast, I've never used a rom that fast before. Its sooo sexyyyy. Damn this call audio bug :crying:
Hello everyone!
I have used both the CM10 and ICS (V28G co-developed by Harsh). The pro's and con's I've observed in these ROMS are as follows-
ICS (V28G leak)-
Pro's-
1)Very stable. No bugs as of now.
2)New interface is of joy to use.
3)Camera works.
4)I see that the CPU is set to a max of 1200MHz.
5)AnTutu benchmark score - 5530 , Nenamark - 42.9 Fps , Quadrant - Significant improvement.
6)No call drop issues.
Con's-
1)Wasn't reading the memory card (External memory) at all. (solved this by creating a new folder called "external_sd" in the root of the internal SD card.)
2)Slow USB charging. Wall charger just works fine.
3)Video recording has its own bugs, that refers to low frame rates.
CM10-
Pro's-
1)Ultra smooth interface.
2)Stable too. Didn't face any hangs after a day of heavy usage.
Con's-
1)Camera is awful. Video recording just lags everytime.
2)Slow charging, both wall charging and USB.
3)Lesser scores in all benchmarks. (Project butter eats them all up)
I'll update more on the ICS as i'm using it currently.
Cheers!
If u want stable better battery n smooth rom, then go for ICS......
If u can live with few bugs n want to experience the speed of jellybean then go for cm10....
I prefer ICS since ill b out for 2-3 days i need more stable n better battery life rom......
Finally its individuals call.......
I'm sticking with ICS V28E, but I'm having troubles with my battery. Seems to die very quickly and sometimes overheats and turns off when i try to wall charge. It also way too long to charge through laptop usb. Anyone having similar problems?
i use v28g by topogigi no bugs found ^^

No nightly's?
Hi,
I am currently on the Liquid Smooth 20.10. go, but I am surprised that no new versions are on the go. Is it so that only a new Nightly appears if there are changes?

I must remove my battery for restart.

cannot install liquidsmooth rom
i'm still new in installing roms. i was able to install rxtreme rom, i would like to try the LS rom. i downloaded the latest nightly rom, and it prompted installation aborted.
i compared the rxtreme rom that i downloaded, it was 1.2gb. but for the LS, it was just over 200mb. i hope someone here can provide me detailed instructions on how to install Liquidsmooth rom on my s3 i9305.
systemui crashes
Hi guys,i just installed the rom and after the reboot i enter the pin code and that message about systemui pops up every 3 seconds.
EDIT:SO i installed the previus version and everything seems fine exept some random camera issues and the notifications
swipe to left functions most of the times doesnt work or maybe it has to do with spesific apps. Can i upgrade to the latest nightly version without doing a hard reset?

Read the instructions at the beginning of this thread. It's all there.
It is a little different to rxtreme.
You will need to download the ROM and GApps. I'd download Milestone version - read earlier posts for location.
Go to recovery, flash the ROM then GApps.
Hope all goes well.

LliquidSmooth Cameria Issued
I want to thank you for this great Rom, and after many many thank you thoughts i want to ask you if there is something i can do about the camera. After taking 4 pictures camera freezes and can't connect anymore. Thanks again!
Review of the liquid smooth i9305 ROM 4.4.4
I've been using this ROM for the last four months and my verdict is...
...it's ****. S. H. I. T.
So bad that I've gone back to the stock ROM. Maybe it's because the i9305 is a relatively unknown phone (compared to the i9300). Nevertheless it's evident here that little effort has gone into research and testing of this ROM. Here are all the issues I came across during my usage of what is the most terrible android experience I've had.
Battery life: This ROM basically chews up the battery faster than a fat kid in a candy store. Seriously sit back and watch, throughout the day, as battery percentage slips lower and lower until it knocks itself out. And then that brings me to the next problem,
The phone will not charge when the battery is completely dead (phone off): That's right the phone has to be on, before this ROM realises that it should be charging the phone.
Camera: The camera will take about 4 shots, sometimes 10, if you're lucky before it completely fails. The only way around this is by performing a soft or hard reboot. Super fun when you're at a party and when taking a group image, the camera ****s itself. Even with third party camera apps the problem persists.
Microphone: I don't know how a ROM could possibly **** up the microphone, but this ROM succeeds in doing just that. Any recording performed sounds like a 1950s CB radio. This is an experience that you force on everyone you call by having the audacity to use this ****ty ROM.
Multiple Application Incompatibilities: Several big ticket applications fail to run with LiquidCrap. For example Skype refuses to initiate and Viber will not make video calls. That leaves Google Hangouts which for some reason decides to induce a 4 second lag in every word in your conversation.
Video playblack: Wow a custom ROM that refuses to easily work with flash video. The developers solution here is to force you to use dolphin viewer to browse and run some flash mods to work. Unfortunately none of that works. And it's not just flash that refuses to run. Any HTML5 gif or video will not play. Then there are some videos where only the sound will play but nothing else. Good luck watching anything on youtube which is not accessible by the youtube app. Which surprisingly works well.
Random restarts: Oh were you typing in something important? Would be a shame if I just...restarted right now.
Screen Rotation: Lags.
So if you're 13 years old and get a kick out of changing colors in status bars; by all means get this ROM. If you actually have responsibilities and need your phone....to work. Then avoid this ROM at all costs. Hell, avoid every custom ROM for the i9305. Unless it's a slightly modified stock Samsung. This as this there's less chance that something is royally ****ed as in the case here.

Hi Guys! Im fairly new, I only flashed about 10 roms. Using this rom for 5 days now, I have a lot of problems, bugs. But I want to give it another try, because I heard very good things about this rom. so...
garbled "mosaic like" graphics on locksreens notifications only when Im moving them with my fingers
garbled notification bar icons when running tinder
strange scrolling in play/own apps during app updating - app rectangles in the listing seems to detach from the scrolling background, moving slower/faster.
various gfx glitches too fast or short to recall
camera is unusable, ugly FCs, "cant connect"s, even reboots, or phone freezed up for several seconds. using power button release seems to make it worse.
it was clean install, full wipe (FR), + cache before and after flashing. (Philz Touch)
installed:
LS-KK-MileStone-3.2-i9305.zip
Liquid_gapps.4.4.4.build.8.1.zip
I came from stock KK, it was the NEE version (I9305XXUFNL1_I9305NEEFOA1_I9305XXUFOA1_HOME). and some others before that.
Can I make an "even cleaner" install...? Can it be some things left from other roms causing these problems?
Or any advice, so it would work like on your devices?
thx in advance
ps: sorry for the previous post
Hi guys, I have been gone through previous thread but still can't find a proper way to fix the charging animation problem. When turn off my phone and charge it I can't the animation....Do I need to try other Roms?

Have you had any luck on sorting your problems out? I've found this ROM to be amazing.
It's fast, smooth and everything works well.
I've played with lollipop ROMs but they have issues so keep coming back. Though when aicp 5.1 is sorted, it is a decent option; very fast and smooth.
Anyway I am using TWRP 2.8.5.0 recovery and stock kernel that came with the ROM. I do a full advanced wipe them factory wipe. I also use SuperSU.
If you're still having issues you could store your files in an external SD card, totally format your internal storage and start again from scratch.
Hope that helps.

Hi! thx for the answer, but I did everything, apart from I left below. What do you mean by total format? How its done, with what app, and how the carrier/region etc related content is put back after that? I have latest philz touch, and I do dalvik+cache+full wipe before AND after each flash. Im not concerned about my files, everything is on ExtSD and cloud.
Yes the rom is much cooler than CM for the first look, but after 5 days heavy use I got serious problems just like the angry guy mentioned a few post above. after I moved in all my apps and stuff, it lost its smoothness, FCs, and hard battery drain with hot phone.
But the main thing was after I wrote my post, I realized that this rom is not maintained anymore, which is a problem for the 9305. U gotta use what is maintained, so the last day was so bad with this rom, I went back to CM immediately! Which is a dream in simplicity, speed, and battery life, and the latest only few days old!
of course Im still interested in the total format you mentioned, and in this rom, if it gets sorted out...

There are different ways to fully format your internal drive but you will need to backup any important data files to your SD card first. A full format will wipe it clean. I don't use philz these days but from memory you mount system, data etc and format them. Other options are files like those provided by Agni developer for F2FS will wipe it clean as well. As I use twrp it is different again.
I've been on this ROM for months now. It's fast, smooth, no FCs, and with decent use through the day I get 2 full days out of the battery before a recharge.
I use Greenify app, turn off fast dormancy and if there are drainage issues it's generally about finding the rogue app. Titanium backup is another must have app to backup and restore apps. It makes things so easy.
It's not maintained as you say but I don't see that being relevant; it's a well cooked 4.4.4 ROM! You can use other options such as F2FS +/- ART to tweak performance.
The only ROM I'm playing with at present is the 5.1 aicp which is super fast. Only had bug with Apex launcher my launcher of choice.
Have fun! Cheers
