[Q] How do I get back to stock ? I totally bricked phone - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Simple question. I messed up my phone and want to return to the original.
I am a Canadian BELL i9000m - JL2 is what I need.
I know more-or-less how to flash etc. my question is this:
I am on the super optimized kernal, and seeARMS 2.2 JL2 rom.
all I have to do is get the original stock firmware released by bell/samsung for i9000m (JL2) and put it into Odin (and then once in download mode) it should work ?
my question is what boxes do I tick
like how do I get my stock kernal back - I need to get the modem, kernla, rom, etc. back to stock - which boxes in odin do I check ?

Disable any lag fixes you may have on the fone and download JL2 from samfirmware, unzip the file then pop it in the pda field in Odin, don't tick any boxes. Put your fone in to download mode - connect to pc then click start. This will flash JL2 on to your fone.

thanks alot man. and this will remove the other kernal too i suppose ?
anything else I have to disable? I put a few other fixes on there I think.

The flash will restore the fone back to stock and remove all your previous data including kernal. Do a factory data reset after the flash

Thanks man -
I assume from there i can try and do it again and hopefully I won't mess up ?
I wonder if you can help me out so I don't break my phone again. Here are the instructions:
To install this ROM:
1. Download and extract the file you downloaded above to the root of your internal SD card (both the "seearms" folder and the .ZIP ROM file).
If you would like to customize your install, continue doing step 2. If you would like a stock install with all the applications + SpeedMod kernel + JL2 modem + Generation X theme, skip to step 3 (however I'd recommend customizing your install. )
2a. Browse to the "seearms/kernel" folder on your SD card and delete whichever kernel you do not want to install.
2b. Do the same with the "seearms/modem" folder: delete whichever one you don't want to install (I'd recommend installing the JL2 modem unless you've specifically had problems with it).
2c. Do the same with the "seearms/applications" folder: delete whichever applications you do not use. You're allowed to delete all of them to create a slim install, or delete none to create a stock install.
2d. Browse to the "seearms/extra" folder on your SD card, and delete whichever extras you do not wish to install (You're able to choose the Generation X theme, blue Android Market, custom boot animations, etc). Most importantly, if you would like the ROM to wipe your data, leave "wipe" untouched. If you don't want it to format your data, delete "wipe".
2e. So, before going further, you should have the following folder structure on your SD card:
"seeARMS.UGJL2.v0.4.zip" - anywhere on your SD card, doesn't matter
"seearms/extra" - customized to your liking
"seearms/applications" - customized to your liking
And a single file in both of these folders, depending on the kernel and modem you wish to install:
"seearms/kernel"
"seearms/modem"
3. Boot into recovery, and select "Install zip from sdcard".
4. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", and scroll to the ROM.
5. Select OK, and wait for the file to flash.
6. Reboot. This reboot will take a while (upwards of 2-5 minutes), so be patient and don't shut off your phone!
Congratulations, you've successfully flashed!
--------------------------------
Basically I get stuck at option 2 to 3
I didn't opt for the "custom" install (2a-2e) so I just went with the normal install and skipped to step 3
some guy said that I needed to delete certain things from the folder to customize the install -- but I didn't see that in the instructions - I just basically downloaded the seeARMS rom.zip and put it in my SD card and installed it from CWM that way -- was this wrong ?

Bin that ****e mate
1. Remove any lag fixes
2. Download the file
3. Unzip it
4. Open Odin
5. Put the unzipped file (now a .tar file) in the PDA box of Odin
6. Put fone in to download mode
7. connect to pc and odin will pick the fone up and the coms box will turn yellow
8. click start and let it do its thing.
The reboot will take about 10 minutes after the flash.

Add:
0) Charge your battery @ 100%.
0') restart your computer, dont start anything in background, open odin only, check and kill all Kies process.
0'') Make some coffee, chill a bit and you good to go.

thanks guys - I understand fully how to get my phone back to stock 2.2 now.
But I still want to re-flash seeARMS rom again -- the question is how to do it without messing up my phone again. As stated, I posted the instructions above, I get stuck at step 2 - not sure how to go about it to be honest

You need to root your fone then flash the custom rom via Clockwork recovery. The instructions above look ****e mate. With the custom rom you put the .zip file on the root of the internal sd card then reboot in recovery then toggle down to install zip file then choose zip file. You must have clockwork recoverymod working first which you can download from the market

I did this - and the ROM didn't come out and work as good (the home button didn't work) the reason I was told was because I didn't "customize" the installation --- apparently I didn't read the instructions correctly -- which is why I posted the instructions and was hoping someone could explain it to me where I was wrong

here they are :
NOTE: If you have a Bell i9000M, do the following to (hopefully) prevent your internal SD card from dying:
1. Upgrade to JL2 using either Kies (recommended) or Odin (make sure to check Bootloader Update).
2. After the upgrade, download and flash Super Optimized Kernel, which will give you access to ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions to do so can be found in the FAQs (Q1).
(More information regarding the internal SD card dying can be found in Q2 in the FAQ)
To install this ROM:
1. Download and extract the file you downloaded above to the root of your internal SD card (both the "seearms" folder and the .ZIP ROM file).
If you would like to customize your install, continue doing step 2. If you would like a stock install with all the applications + SpeedMod kernel + JL2 modem + Generation X theme, skip to step 3 (however I'd recommend customizing your install. )

And a single file in both of these folders, depending on the kernel and modem you wish to install:
"seearms/kernel"
"seearms/modem"
3. Boot into recovery, and select "Install zip from sdcard".
===============================================
It's in between step 1 and 3 that I get confused - the customization - it says if you want a stock installation just do you what you told me, select from CWM and install from zip card - but I did that and it didn't work
seeARMS said something about a "wipe" version and that I should do that and I should be fine - i don't understand this "wipe" version I wasn't prompted with a choice for this when I did it

I think your best to ask for help in the actual topic/ thread where you downloaded the rom from in the first place.

I have a similar issue, as I stated on the thread I've opened a few minutes ago...

The best way to revive your I9000m is to first flash JPC (a three file ROM) with 512 PIT and repartition ticked. The phone will still be in a boot loop. Then flash the JL2 PDA without repartition or PIT. The best way to go back to stock! Has always worked for me. I9000m's are not the same as other I9000's and do not flash repartition and the PDA in the same flash! Good luck!

I have an I9000m from bell, and i just used the JL2 from samfirmware with only the PDA file and it worked for me perfectly. I just had to do a factory reset after flashing and everything was back to what bell gave me.

New to Root and ROMs

Hi,
As my title suggests, I'm a bit new with all of this, and I'm still learning what is essential to do. I have downloaded ROM Manager, SuperUser, and a terminal. Is there anything else I forgetting to do? I know I should make a backup of what I am running now, but I am a bit uncertain of how to do so. Do I just use ROM Manager for that? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
First, flash ClockworkMod using ROM Manager. Then, reboot into recovery mode and select "reinstall packages". Once you have ClockworkMod installed, you can make a backup through ClockworkMod.
Download Odin3 one-click here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Then, install the drivers mentioned on the page. Odin3 is a very useful tool to get your phone back to stock if you brick it. Always flash back to stock with Odin3 and do a master clear with Odin3 before you flash a ROM.
When you want to flash a ROM, transfer the zip file to your internal sd card. Then, enter ClockworkMod and select the zip. ClockworkMod will then flash the ROM for you.
I hope that helps! Happy Flashing!
You should do a couple if things
Flash clockwork recovery
Open tom manager
Top option to flash clock work
Select captivate
Try to get into recovery
Turn phone off
Vol up & down & power, hold
Ar&t comes up, let go
Blue letters recovery
Volume down to scroll
reinstall packages power button to select
Phone boots
Repeat last two steps
Should boot into green letters clockwork recovery
reboot phone
Get into download mode
Power off
Remove bat, sim, and external sd
Plug usb into computer
Hold vol up & down, plug in usb
Should have orange android with shovel. You are in download mode. Pull battery reboot
Download this program (odin) if you have a windows pc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
If you do not have the usb drivers installed you can find them on that thread.
Once downloaded open program, put phone into download mode with odin open. One of the boxes should turn orange and say com 1 disconnect pull battery
Odin is the program you use to flag stock, or recover from bag flash.
If you can not do any of these steps don't flash, you could end up in trouble and not be able to recover
Flashing roms is easy
Download rom, place on internal sd
Get into clock work recovery
Select option to install zip from sd
Select option to find zip
Find rom file select
Confirm selection
Put the phone down and watch the magic
Always flash with full battery, sim removed, external sd removed
hope this helps

How do you exactly open the Odin file? It's a RAR extension.
winrar or 7zip. i recommend 7zip
I use winrar, 7 zip works as well. Both are free online
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Alright thanks for all your help. I used 7zip and was able to do all the steps correctly (Got to Odin, also can enter download mode), and backed up with TiBackup. So I flashed Assonance today and restored my apps, and it seems pretty nice. Thanks for all your help again.

[Q] Stuck at CWM 2.5.1.0 SpeedMod ULFK

Hey everybody,
I was trying to help a friend, which just got a Samsung Galaxy S to put on Cyanogenmod/MIUI. First, I was following this Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940095 and install the SpeedMod Froyo Kernel. Than I was booting into recovery and want to apply Cyanogenmod and Miui which both resumed a Installation aborted and an Error 7. After that, I was trying to install Darky's Rom to become at least one system running but this gave an error at Settings Permission so the Installation was aborted. I found out that the Error 7 could be because my version of CWM doesn't support only ext3 and Cyanogenmod and Miui are ext4 Roms. How do I become a working CWM to flash Cyanogenmod/Miui out of the misery that I have not a working System. Thanks for your replies!
interesting.. are you still able to go in download mode? if so than flash a rom from samfirware.com (i use JPU) with 3 files + repartition ticked
good luck
For Cyanogenmod/Miui/Sense Installation
Make sure you have the pc drivers for you phone (download kies, thats about all its good for...make sure its closed when following the instruction below)

7. Plug in USB cable (yellow sign saying added)
8. Hit start
9. wait till phone reboots..
10. Shutdown phone
11. Get into download mode again
12. Open odin
13 Put speedmod kernel file in odin (froyo speedmod !) Put the file in PDA and UNTICK auto reboot and repartion...Important..
14. Hit start
14. Pull USB cable out after flash....should say reset in Odin
15. Use 3 button combo to get into recovery (no need to pull battery)
16. Flash galaxys-efsbackup.zip
17. Pull battery
18. Get into download mode
19. Open odin and put cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel into PDA, again UNTICK repartion and auto reboot.
20. Pull out USB and get into recovery....(DO NOT PULL BATTERY OUT TO DO THIS)
21. Flash MIUI/Cyanogen ROM
22. Get into download mode again
23. Open odin and put cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel into PDA, again UNTICK repartion and auto reboot.
24. Pull out USB and get into recovery....(DO NOT PULL BATTERY OUT TO DO THIS)
25. Go under "mounts & storage" and format /system, /cache, /data, /datadata.
26. Flash GalaxySense ROM
27. After first flash and boot and intial setup always reboot your phone.

Thanks for your reply but I can't find the galaxys-efsbackup.zip on the whole web. where can I download it?
Edit: I found it now, but I cannot enter the phones storage anymore I tried the setting under mounts and storage - mount USB storage. I was able to put the efs backup on the sd card and I plugged it into the phone but I could not find the Folder which contains the .zip I don't know why this happens. I would be so happy if someone have a solution for this.
Edit2: Ok I have now flashed the Stock rom with odin from cyanogenmod and put the Roms in the running System on the SD card and flashed it. Now I have a running sytem after flashing MIUI ROM! Thanks for your Support guys!

[Q] Sprint P100 can not wipe

Hi All:
My Sprint Tab P100 got some strange problems.
It's a second hand P100, Once i turn on the tab, it will warning with 3 Beebee, and nook & Amaza Mp3 & Market will report error.
Below warning will show up:
Amazon MP3_nook
“The application XXX has stopped unexpectedly, pls try again”
Market
"Attention:
An Error has occured, Please try again later."
After check, i found the original usr information still there.
(Gmail/Facebook account will try to sync with previous owner's ID. and i can not remove the account.)
What i have tried:
1) I have tried to WIPE using system recovery, after WIPE both data & Cache partition, issue still exist.
2) Perform the Samsung factory reset by enter *2767*3855# in the Memo, problem still there.
3)Format the SD card with Phone & Windows, still got problem
4) Flashed with the stock EA24 Rom from XDA(with Modem, using Odin), the problem still remain the same.
5)Flashed with DJ30, the problem still exist(Base/Fireware EA24).
6)Tried to install CWM, failed to boot up(Rooted before install CWM, after flash the Zimage to Kernal or recovery, some strings flush in the screen, then the tab hung at Samsung logo and reboot.)
I guess those problem was caused by some program information still remain in the internal storage, even after factory reset or flash with other ROM.
Can somebody help on this? Also prefer someone can help on how to install CWM
I am interesting that the OVERcome 2.01 Rom got a version to WIPE the internal storage, but the OVERcome rom are designed for GSMer. Can i tried to use it to clear my internal storage?
just installed Astro, the program will crashed when launch it
Can some one help on this topic?
I am suspecting my internal storage was locked to Non-Writable.
This might result CWM can not access the internal memory caused the failure of the installation.
Is it related to the Flash lock option in the Odin?
Check this thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133053
That has the stock files, and instructions to get root and CWM installed with the stock software. Using Odin to put the stock firmware (EA24) should wipe anything and everything off the tab and restore it to as if it were new out of the box. You also might want to wipe your sd card as it can cause issues with the CWM ext4 conversion.
Hi pvtjoker42 & All:
During the process of Kernel with CWM Recovery, i has been stopped @ step7
1) Download the zip file here
2) Unzip the file. You will need the file named zimage only.
3) Open Heimdall Frontend
4) Select Browse under Kernel and navigate to the file you downloaded in step 1 and select it
5) Press Start
6) The Tab will reboot, but will freeze on the Samsung logo. Turn it off and boot into recovery (Vol Up + Power)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
my tab failed here, no matter what you pressed, it doesn't go to CWM. Do u have any idea?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7) CWM Recovery will attempt to back your tab up, but will fail. Don't fret.
8) Do a factory reset in CWM Recovery and reboot
9) You'll freeze on the Samsung logo again Turn it off and boot into recovery.
10) CWM Recovery will back your Tab up successfully.
11) You now have a CWM backup. Reboot.
12) Your auto rotate is broken.
13) Download the rotation file
14) Put it in /system/lib/hw and change the permissions to match the other items.
Can someone helps?
Today i tried 1 more things, Use a update.zip to update the tab from EA24 to EB28,before try this, i have tried OTA to EB28, it never success.
i download the update.zip from <forum.sdx-developers.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=99sdnmh5pm4rtuv39hk80f7du6&topic=13104.0;nowap> it seems to be official one, and the recovery is the stock version, but it failed again.
I start to believe that my internal storage has been locked, and data can not write in.
Is it possible to due to Fstab issue?
Pls helps to save my tab....
There is only one thing to do : return to stock. Carefully follow the guide. Don't do anything else to your tab, until you go through the restock steps :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133053
[SPRINT] Sprint Tablet Owners Thread (Root, ROM, Flash to stock, CWM Recovery)
The process reformats/repartitions your internal sd card, and sets the correct permissions. If this process fails, there is probably something wrong with the tab.
you might also try to select the option to repartition in Odin when going back to EA24. Then try the steps to get EB28 OTA update, and once you've got that up and running, you can try the update.zip to get to EF17 (gingerbread, as long as you don't need root)
I wouldn't. Try a different sd card
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Hi All:
Thanks for the advice.
I have tried to back to stock EA24 using odin, but the situation still ramain the same.
And it fail to OTA to EB28, the EB28 upgrade program will reboot the machine, and enter recovery model. but it will complete the program. also i have tried to put EB28 update.zip in the SD card, but also fail to upgrade to EB28.
I have repartition the phone by P100 serveral time using odin, also tried update Pit file. All failed.
I have format the SD card in Windows & then in Android, useless.
Now i have some clues:
In P1000 rom Roto-JME, there is Movinand.bin, this one got same name as the internal storage IC from samsung. i am thinking that file could be a file similar to partition table.
Can someone help to dump a "movinand.bin" for me from P100?
steps:
1)Get back to stock EA 24
2)Wipe Cache & factory data
3) Root it (Using superone click , you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682)
4)Install terminal (i use better terminal) or using a ADB to connect to shell.
5)Type "su", check whether "$" change to "#" in the shell
6) Type “dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/movinand.bin bs=4096”
7) Find the Movinand.bin in the SD card
You can sent it to me by drop a email to [email protected]
If there is anything wrong, pls help to correct me
Thanks in advance
as some people is asking how did i fix the issue, just publish the information here.
I fixed the issue by replaced the internal storage (the chip), cost about US$ 30(RMB 200)
If anyone have better solution, just post here to share

stock to Darky - please help

I am very new and not very well inform at all and I am hoping I can learn from you guys.
I have : I9000 which is very very slow at the moment - no sim lock and no network lock. Originally from Optus
Here is the details:
pda I9000xwjvn
phone I9000srjv1
csc I9000psjv5
build info sun jul 10 11.30.54 KST 2011
I want to install Darky (DarkyROM v10.2) - Will this work?
It will be much appreciated if someone can point me to the right direction because all the guide that I came a cross are saying if I am coming from ECLAIR and Froyo. and none is stating from the spec I have got.
any suggestions is much appreciated
Quick Step by Step guide:
1- You have to look if you have enabled the 3-combo button and also I think it's good to do a EFS backup and save it in your computer.
2- Download Darky 10.2 Resurrection Edition and follow the guide to install it through Odin ( enter download mode, conect USB, check repartition, select pit file, PDA... Etc)
That has to work.
Ok, here you go:
1. Download stock JVQ firmware (http://hotfile.com/dl/122481899/943a689/I9000XXJVQ.rar.html) and unrar it.
2. Download some kernel that supports CWM. Like speedmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044519) Follow the link and bottom of the first post, there is links, choose one of those.
3. Download Odin 1.3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?zgbta2co4uyct2z) There is also 1.8 but 1.3 works well too.
4. Download Darky's v10.2 (http://www.multiupload.com/NFEDVYNHZX)
5. Open Odin, its .exe inside the .zip you downloaded.
6. Check you have only auto reboot and f.reset are ticked.
7. go to PDA-section: choose PDA file from the JVQ pack you downloaded. Its named CODE there. Then click the MODEM button and choose modem from JVQ pack you downloaded. Its named MODEM there. Then click CSC and choose CSC file from JVQ pack.
8. Put your phone into download mode: shut it down. Then click volume down, physical meny button and power button at the same time. It should show yellow and black screen with Android mascot digging hole.
9. Plug your phone in to PC. In Odin, you should see one of the little boxes turns into yellow. (if not make sure you have latest drivers installed, download KIES if you want them quite easily)
10. When the box is yello, click "start" button in Odin.
11. When it says "PASS" green box should appear and the phone restarts itself. Unplug your phone and wait till it reboots.
12. When it has rebooted shut it down again and put it into download mode again. Do NOT plug it in yet to PC.
13. Press "Reset" on Odin. Then click the PDA button and select speedmodkernel that you downloaded. You don't unrar it. Check that only f.reset and autoreboot are ticked. Then click "Start". It takes few seconds and "PASS" text appears with green box.
14. Wait till you phone reboots. Put Darky's ROM into you internal SD card's root. DON'T unrar it! Just copy it straight to you intSD card.
15. Shut down your phone. put it to recovery mode by pressing Volume up, physical menu button and power button until Samsung galaxy S thing pops up. Release keys and wait.
16. Now you have CWM in front of your nose. use volume down and volume up buttons to navigate in CWM. Go to "select zip from sd card". Click it with power button. Then choose Darky....zip there and click Yes when next menu appears. Texts starts to scroll and when its ready, click "reboot system now". It might do it by its own. i don't remember..
17. It takes some time till phone is ready and reboots.
18. Enjoy
ATTENTION! MAKE SURE YOU PACK UP EVERYTHING YOU NEED. DO ALSO NANDROID BACKUP IN CWM BY CLICKING "backup/restore" and there click "back up ALL" DO that BEFORE you install Darky things!
Thank you for the quick replies - much appreciated - I still have few things to confirm with you guys.
1. Download stock JVQ firmware (http://hotfile.com/dl/122481899/943a689/I9000XXJVQ.rar.html) and unrar it.
### Does this one has to be the JVQ? when I look at Samfirmware the JVQ is for Europe. I am in Australia - will this be a problem?
2. Download some kernel that supports CWM. Like speedmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044519) Follow the link and bottom of the first post, there is links, choose one of those.
### I have looked at the bottom link and there are 3 options to download. which one should I download? is it this ??: File Type: tar speedmod-kernel-k15i-t10.tar - [Click for QR Code] (7.21 MB, 3436 views)
### How do I install the Kernel?
I am very sorry if this is such very basic questions but I have tried to read it but I just can not get my head around it.
any help is much appreciated.

1 It isn't a problem
2 Yes is that. You can flash it via sgs kernel flasher (download it from the market) or via odin. You must put it in pda and flash without pit and repartition

Hi Guys, I got to this stage :
### I can not find the the ZIP file of Darky - all I see was the folders which was previously in my SD card.
I already put the ZIP darky into the root of my SD but still can not see it.
When I check the the version:
Build number is Gingerbread XWJVN - Is this correct?
Kernel is 2.6.35.7 [email protected]
firmware version 2.3.3
Please help
Thanks guys
You must go in the folder of the zip file of darky rom. If it is in the ext sdcard choose sd-ext.
Strange you must be on xxjvq. Flash it again via odin

I have just flashed it again and now showing JVQ.
but when I try to browse the CD (sorry not CD - SD card) it seems like it is not there.
Let me try again.
### Have tried again but still can not see the darky .zip I need . - very strange
Thank again for your time and suggestions
Cd?
Darky doesnt support JVR yet.
and about kernel:
13. Press "Reset" on Odin. Then click the PDA button and select speedmodkernel that you downloaded. You don't unrar it. Check that only f.reset and autoreboot are ticked. Then click "Start". It takes few seconds and "PASS" text appears with green box.
Already told how to flash it
That download problem is strange... Try later again. I can't help with that..
p.s. Don't worry your questions, its good you ask
sorry, i was late
so you have copied darky to your intSD card? can you see it if you plug your phone to PC.
You should be able to choose it from CWM.. how about is there something like "install zip from sd card" ?

Thanks guys.
Yes, there is "Install zip fro SD card but when I execute it, it came up with unable to read of somekind....
Now I have download the Darky rom tool form the market. with this tool I can see the darky.zip file I put in my Sd card. but when I try to flash it it came up with :
runtime error:
location (389,0) file//android_asset/Resources/functions.js
Message:
wrapped java.io.IOException: error running exec() command [Su] working directory: null Environment:null(file//android_asset/Resources/functions.js#389
and the flash does not happen. just stop.
Hmmm.... I wonder if I need to clear cache and factory reset it?
Do I need to install super user (busybox*su)?
Hmm.. it might be good idea. Do a factory reset and clear cache and davlik cache. Do it from CWM.
Then put Darky again to your intSD card and try again

E:can't open /mnt/sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
installation aborted

[Q] [CWM Manager][Help needed][Flash Stock firmware option]

CWM Manager has the ability to flash firmware parts either from separate files (zImage, factoryfs.img, etc) or from .tar / .tar.md5 files that they usually come packaged in.
- Download the firmware you want to flash
- If you have a ZIP or RAR file, extract it until you have seperate files, or .tar / .tar.md5 files
- Create a folder named 'firmware' on your external SD card
- Copy the files you want to flash to this folder ( /sdcard/external_sd/firmware ). factoryfs ("system") is mandatory part at the moment.
- TIP: If you are flashing a new firmware that already has a CF-Root kernel available, put it in the 'firmware' folder as well in zImage or .tar form (NOT .zip). Select it when asked which kernel to use, then use the "Flash normally" option later on.
- Open the CWM Manager app
- Select "Flash stock firmware"

Stock firmware is always .tar files, Rocket ROM is .zip file..
Put the whole Rocket ROM .zip folder in your sd card (do not unzip it), open Mobile Odin and choose flash update zip and then choose RocketRom.zip
EDIT: or you can just put the zip in your sd card, reboot into recovery, choose install zip from sd card and then reboot system
Thanks i tried that. But when it rebooted everything looked the same. Is that what the rocketrom looks like?

No, recovery and mobile odin will not increase your flash counter
Flash counter will increase only if you flash custom firmware using PC Odin

Rocket ROM is stock-like custom ROM so yes it will look the same
Go to Settings > about phone and check
Thank you so much for your help.. The official CF posts for flashing ROMs are so confusing and such. Thanks for clearing it out for me +1

I just did it via recovery mode, the animation starts then goes to a black screen. Is it rebuilding its cache?

Did the flash went successfully?
Try to reboot couple of times, that might help..
If not, reboot to recovery, do cache and dalvik wipe..
If not, try to reboot into recovery and do factory reset/data wipe/cache/dalvik wipe and reboot..you will lose your data this way

It didnt say any errors when installing so it shouldve of went fine.
Im doing a cache wipe. and it just went to a black screen after "calling all speed demons"
Ill doo a factory wipe then and get back to you. Thanks for your help so far!
I re did the whole process this time. And it still goes black after "calling all speed demons". Should i wait during this time? In the s2 forums i read about it going like this because it is building cache or something along those lines.
I judt reread the whole RM thread. I didnt read the "flash 22 first" bit. Ill do that and hope it works that time ><!
