You need to find the stock rom files and run them through Heidmall, no big deal as long as you can find the stock rom files.

I did not... in my case, my TAB is not branded, so I used JMI stock from the above link. I unzip the file and the results file I just added in Odin together with PIT file and that's all. System reverting to stock, also CWM was replace d with stock recovery.
there is a video tutorial posted on Youtube (is for T-mobile, but was the same procedure for me). hope it helps!
Need Help "Stuck on bootup
can Someone help me please, I have rooted Galaxy tab and today I tried to flash Arabic Rom. It did load every thing and Odin said Pass and it was green. But since then I only can get to "GalaxyTab Samsung" boot screen. doesnt let me to go to recovery mode. only can turn it off and can also go to Download and connect to PC.
I did try to flash it many time. but its the same after finishing flash, it only goes to first boot screen and stuck
You most likely have an ext4 rom and rfs kernel, or vise versa.
If it's stock kernel, than you have an ext4 rom most likely.
My best guess is you need to convert your kernel to ext4.

So if I reinstall the stock ROM from another Galaxy Ace (same one this thing shipped with), the phone doesn't boot, at all.
I put Cyanogen back on, and it boots fine, but my data connection never works and my voice/messaging connection constantly craps out and I need to reimage again. (Weird...if I go back to a working image, then reinstall my current one, it works fine.)
I'm at a loss...but I'm only one step away from returning it anyway.

Something like that, only it doesn't loop. When I load up a stock rom, it simply hangs at he startup "Samsung Galaxy Ace" screen.
after installing your stock rom wipe your cache and dalvik it will work , if not , use odin and flash a different stock firmware first may be KPN or KPH
Irishred is that the stock koodo 2
3.4 rom? I've been looking everywhere for that, could you post a link maybe as I'm sure there are others looking for this also.
Thanks

Well, if you can't flash the stock rom, there's only one thing to do then.
Use ODIN. T_T
It'll push your recovery back to the stock crap too, but then again, there's no reason why it shouldn't work, anyway.
there might be case that it works but you are too lazy to find solution for it to work
what problem you have when you flash stock roms with odin??
You have to flash via Odin, because your internal memory was formated to ext and the stock rom uses a different (I don´t really know which is used by stock rom, but you can google it.)

This is what I was suspicious/worried about. Okay...now to learn to use Odin.
I just found this on sampro.pl I'm at work now so I can't download. Have a look

EXT format issue ?
Just a thought...
I once installed a Cyanogen rom on a Galaxy S that changed something in the memory - and stock rom was not working afterwards. I had to go back to Cyanogen. Too bad if you're planning on selling it in stock rom condition.
The only way back was to find a stock rom that contained the whole package - including correct pit file, pda, modem and a repartition of memory.
Flashed via Odin.
Is it a one file/multiple files package? Kernel update?
I hope any of this is can help you solve the problem.
It is a one file package. Password is sampro.pl. It is multi-csc for koodo & telus. Mine loaded up telus so i had to change it. It works great. I will go back to myth ics rom. Its just nice to know that if I need to return to stock I can.

Wow, been looking for this
Will give it a try, Thanks!
Edit: Works great, all back to stock Koodo (temporarily). Thanks again for posting Spider, XD
just to add...
I experimented with a few custom ROMs but they rendered some functionalities un-usable. I tried to recover from a full system and data backup which failed.
From that: 1)Followed instructions from androidadvices.com (androidadvices.com/update-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-xwks9-gingerbread-235-firmware/-- page 2) But used stock ROM for Koodo (GT-S5830D S5830DTLKI4) from spidre9909's post;
-- a download link to ODIN is included...
2)Rooted the phone and re-installed Clockwork;
3)Restored my full backup created just before my trials with custom ROMs
Now I am back! At this point, follow unroot procedures — if you want to…
Hope this helps...
DXKPB is the firmware I know that includes data.rfs (which means your /data would get formatted with rfs, and that means stock ROM will love your phone again)

it's interesting you mention that your wireless connection doesn't work properly. I flashed the newest firmware (something from vietnam I think) and the same thing ... my connection keeps waffling back and forth from H to 3G to nothing at all.
Hello all,
During my travels in China, I picked up a GT-I9228G galaxy note.
Back in the UK now, and hoping I could change the rom to the english varient of GT-N7000? I am assuming GT-I9228G and GT-N7000 is the same device, just different regional roms(?).
The boot screen is chinese. It has chinese apps on it which I cant remove and no app store amongst other things. Ideally, would like to make the phone all english. Is this possible?
Just a bit of background on me:
I used to own a HTC PDA which I swap roms from developers here and very familair with jail breaking on apple products. Andriod however is new to me. I am a quick learner, so any pointers would be great please guys/gals.

I guess you could... Lots of other people bought their galaxy note from Hong Kong and also from china and they all changed their ROM for a same reason of yours.
Does not the 9220 using a snapdragons and not exynos? I not sure but I thing I have read it somewhere so carefully before flashing.

So, potentially I could just change to the one below?
N7000XXKKA ## 2.3.6 2011 November N7000CPWKK3 United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) Download
The box says 1.4 + <insert chinese characters here>
From wiki -A dual-core 1.4Ghz Exynos processor or a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor (AT&T, SK Telecom, KT, LG U+)
So my guess is Exynos. Anyway to double check?
ok, so I have downloaded the above rom and Odin3 v1.83 from sammobile.
I have opened Odin3 and specified the PIT file (Q1_20110914_16GB)
I have also ticket re-partition, auto reboot and F.reset timer.
I have loaded the rom under PDA (N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar), everything else is unticked.
I have the phone in download mode ready.
I just need to know if the above is ok or am I missing anything before I click START and brick my phone?
Thanks,
Chris.
well I tried anyway.
That didnt work.
Now the phone says "software update fail"
I can still get into download mode, buts thats about it.
tried with and without the PIT file.
Anyone know what I should do now please?
I'd say you'll have to find a rom for that model
maybe http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9220&r=2#regiona
You might have bricked your phone by checking repartition in odin. You should not have. Now you probably need to find a pit file for your model.

If you could enter download mode then try these steps
1. Open Odin and flash Pit file only and Re-partition ticked. (do not attach any ROM)
2. After this again flash ROM without pit file and re-partition un-ticked
This should work.

Thanks,
The first part seemed to work ok, so then went onto flashing again without the PIT file. Failed
Back to square one (software update fail message).
Going to try the original ROM, but takes about 6 hours to download from china!.
Ideally, really dont want to use the original ROM though! I'm guessing the original ROM isnt going to work now anyway since ODIN3 has re-partitioned the device(?).

I am also doing this on a macbook via Boot camp (windows partion). Maybe it has a problem with that. Will try it on a normal PC too.
Any other suggestions before I head home from work and play later?
Oh, I forgot to mention. I read somewhere (forgot where) that I should root the device prior to changing the ROM. Is that true? If so, I dont think thats something I can do in current state

CWM is clockworkmod right? Dont I need a rooted phone in order to install it?
Or do I follow something like this? http://whatareandroidphones.net/root-samsung-galaxy-note.html
Yes... CWM recovery doesn't need root.
hello,
Didnt have the time to work out CWM, but was given a link to another rom which had three files for ODIN3 (http://hotfile.com/dl/149302861/1896440/N7000XXLA6_N7000XEULA1_XEU.rar.html).
So, loaded the above and the phone is back in action on a N7000 rom. Wohoo. Just glad it's working again more then anything else lol!
This rom is prerooted apparently too. know idea what I should be able to do now. What does one usually do when they have a rooted device?

I have flash a couple of ROMs beginning with the original Chinese leak and currently on Imilka CM9 port. I'd like to revert to stock.
Can I just download and flash the stock ROM from the forums using Odin?
I dont want to brick the thing by flashing something incompatible.
Thank you.

I don't think that necessarily does the whole job. I tried to go back to stock via ODIN - first my keyboard kept saying 'null' when I tried to input letters - which I fixed by flashing the multi CSC for Europe - now I have a working stock ROM but I can't get the OTA update to work. It downloads then fails when the phone boots into the recovery partition. I suspect there is a rooted kernel still lingering in there. I imagine if you download stock firmware with phone, pda, CSC, and pit files included that you wouldn't have the same problems as me, but my UK CPW firmware only comes with the PDA tar
Hi, I have a problem with i9000 I had on it AOKP with glitch kernel and decided to go back to backup from stok firmware made in CWM 3.0.0.5 I think and now Phone is stuck on galaxy s logo. I can go to recovery but it cant mount any partition so I cant do anything. Could someone guide me how to fix this? Do I need to flash something through odin?
You can't replace a Samsung based Rom over aosp / nightly/aokp, the partition layouts are different..... flash stock with .pit with Odin/heimdall
Ok good to know that ;] Can I have a link to some stock rom and all files needed? I'm New to galaxy s so will need a little help with it. My phone was on XXJVT does it make any difference?

No worries I'm not new on this forum I'm just new to sgs. And thanks for your help ;] Phone is booting up now
So I've been trying to fix this issue, when I go into recovery I see this line of text saying E: Can't mount /system (invalid argument) and then again but /system has quotation marks. A friend told me that this could be fixed using TWRP. I have an S3 GT-I9305 49 Optus version from Australia, I'm not to sure if it is LTE international and that the only version of TWRP for my model of S3. If someone can tell me how I can fix this system issue that would be great, I'd like to avoid losing data but if I have to I can deal with it, I've tried using KIES and I have the USB drivers but my PC doesn't really detect my phone and Kies stays stuck on connecting. And also my phone isn't rooted so I believe that I'll have to flash TWRP on my phone. The question is will this rid the issue and is TWRP for Samsung Galaxy S3 International LTE compatible with my phone. I am quite novice with Android so any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Just use odin to flash stock ROM, everything should be fixed after that.

Doesn't flashing with Odin wipe all my data? And do I also need to find the ROM for the version with Android my phone was just or will any do?
Yes I'm afraid it will. But it's the best and easiest solutuon for now. The link I will include is an old post of mine and should show you directions on how to get a copy of the original ROM needed to flash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64784298
Search for "I9305" in the site, not "I9300" ok?
Extract the ".tar.md5" file from the zip and flash that in odin.

This will only replace the software nothing else, I'll still have the modem and everything to make calls or will I need to find those as well?
Jericho's right, you won't need to download or flash anything else except that original Rom & after flashing, everything will be as it was when it came from the shop, I too once faced a problem nearly like yours, but I just flashed the original rom & it helped, the only difference is that mine is the i9300
