hello! can i use Straight talk's simcard on Samsung captivate?
well if your phone is unlock then why not try..if it isn't I doubt it would work. you can unlock your phone thru an app in the market, it's an sgs unlock app.
did it work?

Hi,
I have been trying for a few weeks to unlock my phone now. I have tried the Samsung Galaxy S unlock tool which is available on the market but whenever i request the unlock code, it says;
sorry no codes found
unknown error
My phone is rooted, and has busybox installed yet i constantly get this message.
Any help?
Thanks
the free or paid one? I think the paid works in more cases.

ive tried both the paid one aswell as the free ones. i just got a tmobile sim card through the post and when i put that in my phone, it worked straight away with no problems. however, i am on the giffgaff network (which uses o2 coverage) and that always displays the 'emergency calls only' thing.
I'm trying to get set up with Straight talk and have two phones at my disposal(both wifi only currently). My current US Cellular HTC Hero S and my ATT Samsung Galaxy Captivate. I switched to the Hero S because my cappy has the SoD problem and no fixes worked for it, but I liked the cappy more because of all the support it saw here on XDA. My current problem is that the HTC Hero S(CDMA, but can also work on GSM) will only be accepted by Straight Talk for CDMA usage, US Cellular says I can't use GSM on it in the United States.
This has led to the decision to just use my cappy and deal with the SoDs until I can get around to buying a new galaxy. My questions are...
-What do I need to do to use it on Straight Talk? I read that I may need an unlock code from ATT to use Straight Talk's sim card, but Straight Talk sells both ATT and Tmobile cards and in a related XDA thread someone said If I go with the ATT sim card from Straight Talk I won't need that unlock code, it will just work. Is this correct?
-Will I need to edit my APN settings, and if so, how do I do that?
-I'll be starting off with stock software(one clicked back to stock), but I plan to go back to CM10.1 or whatever their newest version is after my sim card and prepaid card get here from ST. Will I have any problems with my Straight Talk service after rooting/romming?
Thanks!

1- I'm not so sure as I'm not american. That being said, unlocking is quite easy.
2- You might. Settings -> wireless & network -> Mobile network settings -> Access point names.
3- It doesn't change anything.
And you may need to try more than one APNs. It took a while for me to find one that works for my phone. If you still need help msg me.

Hello. I just bought a Galaxy S4 active (I537) for AT&T and would like to SIM unlock it. What is the best way to do this? I would be willing to root and unlock that way, or could unlock using one of the internet services, but what would be the best internet service to use? I cannot just call AT&T to unlock it. I am somewhat familiar with rooting, so if there is a way to do it that way that would work.
Thanks!
Hello all
I have an unrooted at&t note 3 unlocked by att
I am on the unlimited data plan and I can not tether. I tried searching google for a way to have tethering work without rooting but I was not successful in my search.
My quedtions to the experts are
1- can I get tethering to work with my att galaxy note 3 without rooting? How?
2- what are the 3rd party apps that you trust that would give me tethering for free?
3- if the only way to tether is rooting then what is the best and safiest way to do it? I am new to this and never rooted. So I would like to know the ups and downs if I did this and if its reversable and if I would continue to receive updates to the phone and the apps in it. I am asking becuase with iphone when you jailbreak you cant update anymore.
4- what is the diffrence between sim lock and regional lock? I ask becuase my phone was unlocked by att to be able to use it with other sim carriers when I was in the middle east. So is my phone sim unlocked or regionally unlocked and how to know?
Thank you so much and I am so sorry if these quedtions were answered before. But I really tried to search before I asked and with my limitd knowladge about this I did not know how.
Thank you again and looking forward to your answers.
Hey, question. Is it possible to install Samsung Smart Call on AT&T branded phone? I don't want to root my phone, but I'm on a prepaid plan which doesn't let me use their Call Protect app.
