yes it is still working .just like nexus one.
It's good to know because I will get HTC Incredible S 2-3 months later. It's one of two phones I will purchase this year (the other will be LG G2x).
Except Vibrant 2 (SGS 2) comes to T-Mobile (root it and rock with "sub-$10 internet), I'd put it aside.

I think the pyramid is going to weigh a lot more. I had the G2 in my hands and it was way too heavy. The incredible S is just at my weight limit. Do you know of any lighter phones coming out soon?

In case anyone is interested. I've gotten around 4-5mb download and around 3mb upload speeds with T-Mobile in the US, which is the same speeds I get with my current phone, MyTouch 4G.
I was wondering if I would get the same speeds because one phone is 3g and the other 4g but you do get the same speed because the 3g phone is supporting 14.4mb downloads and 5.76mb uploads. So, one phone being 4g and the other 3g is not making any difference.

That's because 4g on T-mobile US is just a marketing term and the rest of the world still calls it 3g. So imported 3g phone from Europe = T-mobile US 4g.

Anyone with Total Internet (and in a "4g" zone) tried this? I got a G2 recently with the free upgrade, but of course it's IMEI is blocked and I haven't updated the plan yet. So, the phone is sitting unused. If the S works with Total Internet, I'd prolly just ebay the G2 and pick one of these up.

ATT and TMobile use different 3g bands so EDGE is all you will ever get. Same thing happens in reverse until there are phones that support both sets of bands (not likely).
well thats just GREAT!!

To expand on what you said, they use different 3G bands AND the hardware that is able to talk to said bands is exclusive to both AT&T and T-Mobile TP2 phones. There is a physical hardware difference between the two, so upgrading to a different radio will not allow you use your T-Mobile TP2 on AT&T's 3G network, either.

Aye. It's like with my wife. She has a G1 right now with T-Mobile. However, her friend has a MeToo (iPhone) with AT&T. Of course, she wants the iPhone now and told me that other day that she can get one that is already unlocked for use with other carriers. I had to explain to her that I would get her the iPhone if she wanted, but that she would NOT get 3G while on T-Mobile's network given the hardware constraints. She didn't say much after that.
Research is key. I see it every day in the NRG ROM thread. People see "Manila 2.5" and immediately grab that version. However, they fail to research and don't realize that Manila 2.5 is still in its beta form from HTC. They ask why certain functions don't work...they even seem surprised when they don't work. When explained to them that it is still in beta form, they quickly go back to lurking.

ditto on that, where I live we don't get stable 3g and when we do I don't notice any speed advantages. When I drive to atlanta where they have a stable 3G I only noticed that google maps DIDN"T like to even connect at 3G. And I wasn't really using anything else while there, I actually disabled the stupid 3G radio on my pantech just so I could use google maps. Sooo... never really had it anyway and got tired of waiting for ATT to drop their TP2 or even the TD2. bought a TM TP2 and I've been in heaven ever since. Phooey 3G... who needs ya? I got WiFi and edge is fine for whatever else I need on the road.

You will see a MUCH bigger difference when you aren't using a browser that compresses the data before it gets to your phone.
Opera mini does just that. Thus, you won't see much of a difference between Edge and 3G. Skyfire also does it as well, I believe.
When you start downloading "raw" data, though, you will really see the difference in speed.
I want an HD7 and wondered if any XDA-member could purchase one from o2 and i would pay them through PayPal and they could ship me the phone. I am in the US and on AT&T
Why don't you just go down to Walmart? They have them there already. Besides you'r on ATT and will get no 3g I thought with one from O2? I believe you need one from Telstra (Australian) network and your 3g will work.

I see the rebel sim cards are being developed for wp7 so perhaps 3g is still in the game if i get a tmobile version. I s being on edge versus 3g really that big of a difference anyway?
oh yeah, it's like swimming in tar lol (edge).
Isn't the phone Quad Band? Surely the device will work on all of the GSM networks?
I hope it's that or it's going to be quite a mission finding the right device to work on the right networks int the right countries.
in the u.s., the only 2 big gsm carriers (at$t, t-mo) operate on different bands. the rest of the world is ok lol, the telstra(sp) operates on at$t w/ 3g, any one else on t-mo gets edge.

Ah, ok
So would the T-Mobile HD7 work on standard GSM bands (900MHz and 1800MHz for South Africa)?
I saw a deal for an unlocked "world" version of the note and I am on TmoUS. So if I buy the note, will I be able to use my unlimited data plan with 3g or H? I am confused reading the forums on the att side and this one...they're saying I can only get edge? Because that would really suck.
I'm on tapatalk and can't do a decent search on xda via app so if this had been asked already, just point me to that thread and I will gladly have this one deleted. Also, the desire to get the unlocked note is a spur of the moment kinda thing since the deal is only available for one day. Btw, unlocked note is selling for 585 with shipping from 1saleaday.

what they said is right you will only get edge speeds on tmobile with the inter.. Note...If you use AT&T then its no big deal.

that depends on the frequency of the 3g network in your area.
however, this is the first I've seen it mentioned that American t mobile has any other 3g bands than 700mhz.
So I'd say no, you most likely will not get 3g speeds.
The N7000 will only run on T-Mobile edge. If you want 4g you have to AT&T or Straight Talk.
This is true. T-Mobile Sucks! EDGE just blows and I am amazed anyone uses it.
Oh well. I am going to try straight talk in a few weeks to see if that is any better.
Well, EDGE is downright terrible...no one can argue that. If you want to use T-Mobile, you're better off getting the AT-T note, unlocking it, then installing the right modem files to use it on 3g/4g. I use T-Mobile myself, and decided to keep the Int. version...I think it's better, and the development community is WAY better, mainly because the device has been out longer. It's up to you really. Don't hope T-Mobile will be updating it's 1900mhz spectrum in your area anytime soon...it's a process I'm sure will take many years.

Yes they do number porting as long as it is not a at&t number because straight talk uses at&t network.
It sucks that it is more difficult to get the inter version to work on 3g or h on tmo. I did read that the inter version is better than att version and I do believe that development will be better with the inter version as it obviously covers more countries and it has been out longer. I really want this note but I'm just gonna wait a bit. I have a feeling those guys working on getting tmo to work on inter version will be able to do it. Wishful thinking probably but it is possible with all the talented devs out there. I guess I'm going to be on sensation for a while until tmo comes up with a phone as awesome as the note. Thanks for all the responses!!

FYI and I have heard of this issue before, Straight Talk gets varied reception in Metropolitian areas. Let me explain.
I have had ST for a few months now, on the NT7000. I have had zero issues.
A couple of caveats
DO NOT use more than 100mb/day or 2gb/month, whichever comes first. People have had their contracts terminated by ST for doing this. So not truly unlimited (but still more than decent deal). This is not a *hard* limit- I have done more without any issues by accident.
I get decent service in the suburb of NYC where I live (few tall buildings), actually much better service than Tmobile had.
However, in NYC itself, the service can be absolutely horrible depending on area. My guess for this phenomenon is that while you are on an ATT MVNO, this doesn't necessarily mean that you have the same roaming rights as regular ATT customers. In a metro area, roaming might be necessary to get signal in certain places.
My download speeds at 2gb down 1 up.
I would just buy a months' worth at first and try it out as prepaid, then port your number in.
From what I understand, you don't even need to buy the e71 like I did anymore

I do. I got it with the SGS II and ow with the Note. up to 3mbs download. Good enough. MediaNet is $10 a month unlimited, I don't use nearly 2GB maybe less than 1 as I am in WiFi most of the time. I am using a Cingular.wap setting. Its different than the "smartphone" APN but the speeds are the same (until LTE is available) I don't need LTE speeds on a phone. I don't even get those speeds at home on cable. maybe 7Mbs DL.

Can you tell me (or better yet show me) what the Sprint HTC One compares to lets say a Sprint GS3 or other Sprint LTE device with regards to LTE reception. Really what I would like to see is the RSRP (dBm) values of each device sitting side by side. I myself have an HTC EVO LTE and love the (almost) all metal construction that HTC did with the phone. The one thing I do not like however, is the LTE performance. 3G is great and on par with other devices, but I want to make sure HTC fixed this in the HTC one before I buy it.

Wow, they actually put earbuds in with this phone. I haven't gotten a pair of earbuds with a new phone from Sprint since my Touch Pro (Maybe the Touch Pro2).
I was actually wondering how it works with roaming. Is it possible you can force it to roam for a moment? Or is that a root only function (been on a rooted phone too long). I don't expect LTE to roam, but I also don't recall seeing any info about a 2g/1x radio onboard. There's a little get-away I go to often in the summer that has no Sprint coverage and hoping I'm not bringing a paperweight every time I go.
Is the phone unlocked? It has a slot for a microsim, correct?

Can you try the following dialer codes to see if they work?
##DEBUG# (##33284#)
##DATA# (##3282#)
*#*#INFO#*#* (*#*#4636#*#*)
If DEBUG works, can you see if there is an “LTE Engineering” menu to view the RSRP/RSRQ values? These values are also in the “Phone information” menu if the INFO code works.
If the INFO code does not work, would you mind downloading the following app?

Basically, it’s a shortcut to the “Phone information” menu that you would find through INFO, but if they killed the dialer code, this might be the only way to access it (assuming the menu itself is still there).
I’m sorry, I know this is kind of a lot, but a lot of people are going to be eager to find out if they can use this phone for field testing to see if it’s a better RF performer than the EVO LTE. Thanks in advance!
Adrian, can you enlighten us as to the storage space? Under Settings/Storage. Some of us are wanting to know how much User Accessible space is available to store music, movies, photos, etc.
Hi!
I'm planning to buy a customized Moto X unlocked GSM edition but I'm wondering if it'll work outside the US.
At Moto they don't know as "they haven't tried it". And is confusing as it says on their website that is GSM unlocked but comes with a t-mobile sim card, so it's unlocked to work with t-mobile and at&t only or also open to other compatible GSM networks around the world? Has anyone had the chance to try it?

Most phones shipped these days support most 2g/3g bands to support international roaming features. Say you're going to Europe, i wouldn't count on you getting anywhere near LTE speeds or even 4g speeds because there networks aren't that developed yet, put in simple terms, but there's a good chance that you can still get a supported 2g/3g connection, does that make sense? I would take it with me if i were you, no harm in that right?
moto x in Belgium
I got my T-mobile Moto X shipped to Belgium, it works on the local GSM networks.

I heard of it What you can do is find out what network bands your cellphone company back in Romania uses and see if your phone supports it. There's a good chance your phone will support one of their bands though

They support it for 2G/3G, but not above. The bands are different for LTE.

3G is fast enough. As the 4G network is not fully developed (no full country coverage), and the prices are still high, I don't think it's really worth stressing too much about it. I ordered myself a MotoX from the states with a non-compatible LTE hardware just now. I know that I won't use that technology in a comfortable way anyways for the next 2 years. For my personal needs, 3G+ is more than enough.

Ya don't worry about it too much because it sounds like you're a casual user, mainly for emails and such I'm guessing? But anyways Lte speeds are really going to take off in the next couple years so you'll be in for a treat when you get back Happy Journey!

Well I could say casual user, I guess, but I use mostly wifi wherever I spend more time. Home, work, friends place, all have good wifi, so when I'm out, I switch to 3G, and in that time I don't really need super fast speeds.
Thanks.

Makes sense and the harm is like $430 haha and then the time n money to unlock it. But now anymore by knowing that some people had try it outside the US .
My worry was about if it's really unlocked as I'm buying it to use it in Ecuador most of the time. And when u buy it, it says that they give u a t-mobile sim card so that's confusing.
Bought it yesterday

Works outside the us!
If you want it...buy it because it works!! The NO CONTRACT MOTO X is fully unlocked!!
Comes with a t-mobile nano card but that's no problem...I guess if that I need it at the US someday, I will have to activate it.
