Hi, just a quick few questions.
I'm currently using the Voodoo kernel with a stock 2.2 Australian ROM. If I upgrade to 2.2.1 using Kies:
will this give me an official 2.2.1 kernel?
will I lose root?
and what evidence is left over that I had Voodoo i.e voided my warranty?
Thanks guys.

Hi guys,
I have the Galaxy S on T-Mobile and have come to the conclusion T-Mobile will never release the 2.2 Froyo update - I'm looking to root it instead and put on one of the lag-fix's.
Can you guys recommend me the best guides for the following :-
Rooting the Galaxy S
Updating firmware to 2.2
Lag-Fix
Thanks in advance,
Gav

If you really want 2.2, best options are:
Firmware JP6
Voodoo lagfix pre-3
CF Root
In my opinion anyway!
If you can live with 2.1, then JM9 or even JM8 with voodoo lagfix beta 5 is your best bet.
With both, I like Tatuyama's ROM, I find it the most stable. The only competition really is DocRambone.
and this has what todo with DEV?
Firmware JPA
CF Root
Voodoo lagfix pre-3
here is what i am using now
OK, I have a sort of complex question.
I am currently running DamienGTO's kernel along with Stock 2.2 and Stock CSC as installed by my carrier.
I have finally gotten Kies to work due to the new version being released, and I suspect that the Samsung firmware upgrade to 2.2.1 or 2.3 may be coming to my stock firmware soon, due to that fact.
My questions are these...
Will I be able to upgrade my stock firmware even through I am using a custom kernel?
Will doing so replace the kernel with stock requiring me to flash the Ultimate kernel again after the upgrade?
Should I undo the lagfixes before upgrading the firmware?
Will updating via Kies wipe my data?
Thanks in advance for your time.
YES
YES
YES
NO (but make a backup just incase)
Thanks very much... now I just need to see if Samsung really updates the stock.

Hi, i installed JVK with bootloaders few weeks ago. Now my phone became very laggy. So I want to install the Voodoo kernel with lagfix (I already installed CF root).
What i couldn't find is whether the latest 5.5.3 release of Voodoo kernel supports this JVK firmware or not. if not how can i get some other kind of lagfix on JVK?
28/03/2011 : 5.5.3 release: includes Voodoo sound v7 :definite fix for the DAC direct call issue with much better audio path management, lagfix code updated.

Would you not be better waiting and installing official release of 2.3.3 first .

Do you think the official release would be very different from this leaked one? i mean in terms of speed and lag?

would it be alright to go from stock 2.2.3 (JVD/JV5/JV6, H3G)to then flash a gingerbread upwards custom rom?
i know there's issues with the bootloaders downgrading from 2.2.3 to froyo stock
if its okay, how would i go about it?
Hi guys,
I installed XXJVR firmware on my I9000 and then rooted the phone using CF ROOT kernel. Can I install Voodoo lagfix on this stock firmware?
Thanks,
Dinesh.
