Hi!
I cannot get this option to appear in 3 Button Recovery Mode.
This option: "rm / data / system / batterystats.bin" serves to activate the wipe option in Recovery Mode or wipe it directly?
tks!!!

Ofcourse, your SGS must be rooted....

I hear that to calibrate the battery, we need to make full charge/discharge several times. So when did we have to wipe battery stats? And why did we need to do it?
If wipe battery stats will reset the battery state to 100%, so it will be enough to charge the battery during the night to be sure it's full then do a wipe battery stat to make it calibrate with the real battery current state (full charge = 100%). Am I right?
I donot understand how the battery stat work? please help!
Thanks
In my experience wiping the battery stats is not necessary, the meter will calibrate itself with every cycle. If you want to speed up the process and be nice to your battery let it drop to 5-20% before recharging.
With some FW even a batterystat wipe won't help.
I have bad battery behaviour with JPY, also my wife which has even less apps who are active online, like K9-mail.
Hope with XXJQ3 the battery will last longer
Miro666,
Cant found at market the Tuxility, do you know another way to download? Tks

Since i hit the option of wipe battery data, im having some issues with my battery it drains really fast. i tried those steps but i dont know if i did it rite?
Battery recalibration
If you're experiencing higher than normal battery drain, try the following:
1. Charge the phone to full battery; power off and let it keep charging until the light is green.
2. Boot to recovery mode and go to console (or adb shell) and type:
mount -a
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
1. Reboot the phone and use it normally, but don't charge until it shuts off.
2. Recharge the phone completely and then use as you normally would.
Note: Newer Amon_Ra recoveries have an option to delete the battery stats, do this in place of the console commands above, but charge/discharge as stated. ***************
Thats what i did:
Charge the phone when its off, fully charge, unplugged the phone and wipe battery stats, use the phone and let it get off by itself, recharged the phone and still the same issue,
i did something wrong?
Are you sure it's because of battery stats? One thing that drains the battery on my phone really fast is if I enable keeping home app in the memory on CM ROM (done via Spare Parts).

well i did what u say and my phone still turning off even when the battery its half way,
About to buy a new battery for my CM5.0.7/Danger G1. Just put in the new battery and charge it all the way (with device off) and then power on, or charge fully then wipe data then power on?

You are changing the BATTERY?
Battery will NOT affect internal storage.
I mean should I wipe the Battery Data or just charge that bad boy up.
I know batteries don't affect internal storage. I'd like to think that everyone knows that, but if you feel the need to tell me, I guess you have encountered quite a few "amateur coders" in your time.
But, yeah...any benefits to wiping battery data first/after charging?
Same Question here :/
after purchasing new battery, for sure it has a lil charge.
so what u must do is, drain the battery till it runs out of charge
and then after draining, its the time u will charge it.'
in sort, u will
1. drain the batt
2. fully charge it (while device is off )

I'm changing my s7 battery also... so no wipe to battery data?
Is it true that the porcentage of battery u have when u flash ur phone is the one that will be used as the new 100% ? also whats the procedure i should use to erase the battery stats? my phone dies in like 4 hours , let it discharge, charge completely and then?
I don't think so, cause i always flash my MS anytime i wish even when the indicator show <20%, or when charging on UBS
I also never bothered to charge fully before flashing. Though I think resetting battery stats does help indeed.
i also read something similar to this, someone told me to charge to full, then let the phone discharge UNTIL IT TURNS OFF BY ITSELF (=battery completely dead), then charge to full again and then delete the file batterystats.bin in /data/system folder (root required).
i suppose this is what you are talking about?
i will try this in a few hours (currently discharging the last % of my battery).

Im confused im supposed era the stats before right after chanrging full charging the phone or i sould let it discharge m, then erase the stast and then full charge the phone?
What's your ROM?
On froyomod do you have option to calibrate battery and wipe battery status
Well, I've flashed it to FroyoRom with approx. 40% charge, played around a little, the next day when I was normally using it and my battery went down to 30% I deleted the battery stats, the system rebooted and voilla, I was at 50%
I don't know about this full charge - discharge - full charge - delete stats version. I guess I'll try it on an occasion and see what happens. At this moment I'm at 90% after being disconnected from charger for 5 hrs, though I wasn't using the phone much during this time.
...and currently finishing the same charge - after 1 day and 17 hrs currently at 20%. My Milestone never made it through the day without having to charge it through the night. Love it
The FroyoMod is really the best at the moment...
a few days ago i flashed stock jvs. and applied cf root.
now i'm facing some weird things. battery lasts only like 12h. and when i go to battery stats in "about phone" the "on battery" time says things like 1min, but the longer the phone is on, it gets longer, like 2h ...
today i tried to fully load it and wipe battery stats.
didn't work,
now i've applied semaphore. and still shows weird things. and it doesn't seem as if the battery would last longer.
didn't find a thread with this problem, only the "official" battery bug, when the percentage changes within an hour about 20% a higher...
maybe so knows?
When you say wipe battery stats, did you do the entire battery calibration procedure? I find it's most effective to wipe and charge phone overnight while it's off (Like the first charge you do when you first get the phone)
i did the calibration like it is said in another thread:
fully load battery,
go to recovery, let it plugged in for further 5-10min
unplug,
wipe battery stats
reboot and let the battery be drained until it turns off automaticly.
but still confusing...
never had this befor, on stock 2.3.4 and cfroot, normal information like 2d 3h ... etc.
I'm Currently On Apocalypse Rom. I'm having Battery percentage issue.
I Charged 1Minute it can direct boost up to 100% Which mean it show Charged but when i plug off - the battery percentage drop directly. Anyway to fix this?
even i charged for 1 night, the battery can last only like 8hours.
The battery is new :O
i need real battery percentage =X
Search the market/ play for an app called "battery full notification"
It's light weight and non-invasive and will tell you when your battery its actually charged (your phone normally will say 100% long before it has competed it's charge. The only other way to tell if it has completely charged that i know of is to go to settings> about phone> status. The app has many options to let you know without disturbing you. Check it out.
Also, when you install a new ROM, do it with a full battery. You can help by calibrating your battery with an app or:
When your phone runs out of battery and dies, boot to recovery and wipe battery stats in the advanced menu of cwm. If you don't have enough charge to do this charge for a few seconds then boot to recovery.
Charge your phone until full and that's it.
Your battery on your ace is not great and if you use your phone as much as I do, 8 hours isn't bad!
I use my phone LOTS!
