I'm Currently On Apocalypse Rom. I'm having Battery percentage issue.
I Charged 1Minute it can direct boost up to 100% Which mean it show Charged but when i plug off - the battery percentage drop directly. Anyway to fix this?
even i charged for 1 night, the battery can last only like 8hours.
The battery is new :O

Search the market/ play for an app called "battery full notification"
It's light weight and non-invasive and will tell you when your battery its actually charged (your phone normally will say 100% long before it has competed it's charge. The only other way to tell if it has completely charged that i know of is to go to settings> about phone> status. The app has many options to let you know without disturbing you. Check it out.
Also, when you install a new ROM, do it with a full battery. You can help by calibrating your battery with an app or:
When your phone runs out of battery and dies, boot to recovery and wipe battery stats in the advanced menu of cwm. If you don't have enough charge to do this charge for a few seconds then boot to recovery.
Charge your phone until full and that's it.
Your battery on your ace is not great and if you use your phone as much as I do, 8 hours isn't bad!

I don't think so, cause i always flash my MS anytime i wish even when the indicator show <20%, or when charging on UBS
I also never bothered to charge fully before flashing. Though I think resetting battery stats does help indeed.
i also read something similar to this, someone told me to charge to full, then let the phone discharge UNTIL IT TURNS OFF BY ITSELF (=battery completely dead), then charge to full again and then delete the file batterystats.bin in /data/system folder (root required).
i suppose this is what you are talking about?
i will try this in a few hours (currently discharging the last % of my battery).

Im confused im supposed era the stats before right after chanrging full charging the phone or i sould let it discharge m, then erase the stast and then full charge the phone?

On froyomod do you have option to calibrate battery and wipe battery status
Well, I've flashed it to FroyoRom with approx. 40% charge, played around a little, the next day when I was normally using it and my battery went down to 30% I deleted the battery stats, the system rebooted and voilla, I was at 50%
I don't know about this full charge - discharge - full charge - delete stats version. I guess I'll try it on an occasion and see what happens. At this moment I'm at 90% after being disconnected from charger for 5 hrs, though I wasn't using the phone much during this time.
...and currently finishing the same charge - after 1 day and 17 hrs currently at 20%. My Milestone never made it through the day without having to charge it through the night. Love it

I never had this problem until recently i've flashed to Cog 4.
It started after i did a full charge. It discharges to 80% and to 50% and to 20% and to 5% and then died off within an hour. My phone heated up even though when it is not active.
Now, after changing a new battery. I find that i can't charge it above 85%. I re-flashed with Phoenix and Serendipity. The maximum charge still stays at 85%.
I've cleared the battery stats and nothing changed. I need help here.

First of all, with custom roms, battery drains much quicker than normal, but i think you need to do a calibration. Charge your phone for like 12 hours to make sure its completely full, then drain it all the way until it dies. Then make sure its completely dead and wont turn on (sometimes the phone thinks the battery is dead, but its not. To solve turn on and off until there is no more responce. Take out battery, then try and power on. This will get rid of any static charge in the phone. Put battery back in and charge for another 12-15 hours to make sure its completely full. Go into recovery and wipe battery stats. Then let it die. That should do it.

yes and no.
custom roms wont necessarily use more power, in most cases less. and technically most power consumption is controlled by the kernel, and secondly the installed services in the ROM. new kernels useually come with a new rom but you dont have to keep it or you can upgrade it ect. But yes, when changing the kernel either by itself or with a rom you should reset battery stats.
I suggest drain it dead, plug it in until it is full, reboot into recovery and wipe batt stats (or use SGS tool script) WHILE PLUGGED IN, unplug.
or if you have an external batt charger, wipe batt stats in CWM then put in full battery.

When I said custom roms i meant that when you are on something other from stock. And for the most part, unless you are on a minimalistic rom, you do get worse battery. It is a known fact. Sure I have gotten 50 hours out of a rom/kernel combination, but it was never consistent. I had to flash back to stock and masterclear because i have random shutoffs and need to return it, and im seeing easily 30 hours out of stock with 3 hours usage of web email phone. Maybe its not the same for you, but stock has had the best consistent battery life for me.

Hey guys I just picked up the Thrill the other day, and like others I've realized the battery life is horrible on this phone not to mention when I reboot the phone would take a 10-15% out of the battery. Coming from an Atrix I decided to try the battery fix for the Atrix since it worked for me in the past, well after following all the steps in the guide it seems my phone reports the battery more accurate and battery life is better but your mileage will vary. Reboot doesn't take 10-15% out of the batter percentage either so here is the guide and link to the original thread, all credits go to xploited.
PS.. I followed all the steps except for flashing the jug6ernaut's CWM battery fix since it is for gingerbread roms

Standart disclaimer: I am not responsible if you break things by following this guide, though I will be genuinely surprised if you do.
Credits: This fix is a combination of battery management techniques discussed in the Atrix forums + a technique that I originally found in a Milestone forum (I didn't invent it, but I am too lazy to search who originally posted it ).
This worked in fixing the problem for me (the same problem that I see many others are writing about on the forums), but I can't guarantee it will work for you.
Who should use this? (aka your battery problem symptoms are
1. Battery life on 2.3.4 is significantly worse for you than before.
2. Battery stats are jumping and showing inconsistent information.
3. Your phone loses 30%-60% just by sitting there overnight.
4. Phone idle draining 30%-60% of battery just by sitting there overnight.
5. After flashing a couple of roms, your battery stats got messed up and the phone thinks it's at 100% charge while it's not.
I personally started having battery problems after flashing a couple of roms, applying 1% battery mod and despite flashing jug6ernaut's CWM battery fix.
When I went to bed with a 100% charge, I would wake up to a 50% charge, with Phone Idle process showing up as massacring the battery. The steps below successfully fixed the problem for me.
Prerequisites:
1. Atrix on one of the rooted 2.3.4 roms (ideally,- deodexed and with unlocked CWM)
2. Wall Charger
3. jug6ernaut's CWM battery fix (put it on your SD card you will need it later!) I have also attached it to this post.
4. Battery Calibration app from the market
5. Watchdog Lite or Full from the market
Instructions:
It's best to complete this procedure in the evening before going to bed, so you can leave it at 100% overnight and check in the morning if the drainage issue is fixed!!!
The whole procedure along with recalibration might take up to 5-6 hours!
1. Take the case off your Atrix (one of the latter steps involves taking the battery out from the phone while it's plugged in. Make sure your case won't stand in the way.)
2. Install Battery Calibration app from the market
3. Plug in your Atrix to charge while it's on, wait till it gets to a 100%
4. When the charge is 100%, open the BatteryCalibration app and lookup what the charge is in MV while at 100%. (Explanatory pic, needed number circled in red). Write it down.
My Atrix was showing ~3400MV while at 100%, which is definitely not the maximum capacity.
5. Discharge your Atrix completely until it shuts off.
A good way of doing this quickly is by turning on wifi, and a video player.
6. Without turning on the phone plug it into a wall charger and let it get to 100%
7. When it's at 100%, without unplugging it from the wall charger, take off the battery cover, and take the battery out.
Your phone will "reboot" and show a Missing Battery icon.
8. Without unplugging the phone from the wall charger or turning it on, put the battery back in and wait until the phone recognizes the battery.
9. Your battery should now be recognized by the phone, and showing a charge % significantly lower than 100%.
Mine showed only 5%. Back when I used a Milestone, it usually showed 60% after doing this.
10. Let it sit there charging for 2-3 hours.
My phone wouldn't charge past 10%, but yours might. The numbers don't matter much as the phone is definitely getting additional charge that could have been lost while flashing ROMs, etc.
11. After 2-3 hours, turn the phone on while holding the volume down button and get into CWM.
Do not disconnect it from the charger still!
12. Install jug6ernaut's CWM battery fix (even if you had it installed before), do not reboot yet.
Do not disconnect it from the charger still!
13. Wipe battery stats in CWM, reboot.
Do not disconnect it from the charger still!
14. When the phone turns on, go into BatteryCalibration app again and look up your MV numbers
- if you were like me, they should be significantly higher than before. After this whole process I had 4200MV at 100%, comparing to 3400MV before calibration.
Do not disconnect it from the charger still!
15. Before going to sleep - Install Watchdog from the market. Go into it's preferences, set CPU threshhold to 20%, check "Include phone processes", check "Monitor phone processes", check "Display all phone processes", set system CPU threshhold to 20% as well.
Do not disconnect it from the charger still!
16. Make sure your wifi and data connections are off. Now finally unplug the phone from the charger.
Go to bed, let your phone sleep too.
17. Success! Next morning check where your battery % is at and if you followed the instructions correctly / got lucky like me, your battery life should be 90% or more.
I went to bed with 98% and woke up to 94%. So, I consider this mission a success.
(Your general battery capacity should have increased, even if something still was draining the battery, you will be able to find the infringing process in WatchDog with the settings we've set up in step 15 )

Not a bad process. I did something similar. Main part is Watchdog and finding out what's draining your battery. On my phone the infringing process is "Suspend". Now, if there were an app that was keeping my phone from suspending and running up the process it would be an easy fix but unfortunately the process with the highest "partial wake" battling my "Suspend" is the "dialer" so unfortunate I'm just gonna have to wait for GB since I have no interest in Rooting or installing roms at this point.

I have had terrible misfortune in the realm of battery stats. Ever since CM7 (and maybe even before) my phone is unable to figure out how much battery is left. Here is a common scenario:
Charge phone overnight, use phone throughout day, battery dies after 6-7 hours of moderate-heavy usage. I plug it in, reboot, and then it reports ~60% battery left.
Another common scenario is that it will dwindle around 5% battery or less and go up and down until it finally dies.
I know that this is a misreading of the battery and not battery drain or a rogue app because when I flash a new ROM the battery life is amazing for 1 day. The day after I flashed Team Hacksung's ICS rom, I got almost 17 hours of battery life with 2.75 hours of the display being on and 30 minutes of Google Music. I was blown away! But even then it was dwindling around 5% not knowing when it would actually run out. The day after, it was back to its old tricks of misreporting the battery percentage.
Today I charged it to 100%, unplugged it, and shut it off. Then I plugged it in while it was off and let it charge to 100% again and wiped battery stats in Clockwork mod. I'm getting ok-ish battery with that, but it's not even close to how good it was when I first flashed ICS.
Anyone have any ideas what I could try?

When you wiped the battery stats did you let the battery fully discharge and shut off before charging again?
After wiping battery stats it is recommended to let the phone fully discharge to the point where it will automatically shut off.
Keep in mind with the age of our phones, it could just mean your battery is dying. Try the above method, but in my experience uncalibrated battery only last a few days. The phone will "fix" it by itself the longer you use it.

That's what I'm doing currently. Battery life seems improved, but we'll see what happens. It's nearing death now, ~6%. At this point it will probably misreport it for a few hours until it finally dies. I left it unplugged overnight, so now it's at 19.5 hours uptime with 1.75 hours display time.
Definitely improving! I hope that it successfully recalibrates.
Battery stats have nothing to do with how the os calculates remaining battery...they are what is displayed in settings>about phone> battery use and are reset each time you charge to full.
You're just giving it a good bump charge...wiping the stats is just a placebo effect.

Nope...that app is just perpetuating the myth of what the batterystats.bin file does.
Don't hate me for this but, Then how come Roms usually give me better battery life after a full cycle? not bump charging or deleting battery.bin just running it?
Because the system for tracking the remaining power is getting to know your battery. once it gets a feel for it, it's more accurate. In theory anyway

battery gauge temporarily fixed by removal and replacement of battery
Ever since I rooted my phone, I've noticed that the battery gauge/meter is way off. I keep an eye on the charging voltage and try to pull the plug around 3.92 volts. Problem is, the gauge is always reading low until I pull the battery, wait a few minutes, and then reinsert and boot up. Then it's fine for a while, but I notice it creeping down even though I keep topping it off with a charge to keep it around 3.92 volts.
What's going on? Do I have to fully deplete the battery and charge to full to have an accurate (or somewhat accurate) battery gauge? Do I have a bad battery (this battery has been used only a couple months)? Is something else going on here? Recommendations, studacris? Doesn't the os use battery voltage to calculate state of charge (%)?

i just wanna ask something about my battery life on my x8...here's how it goes first i fully charge my battery up to 100% until it says on status battery full...then i unplugged it..after it i texted for a few minutes...and i check the status of my battery and it says: 28 mins 23s on battery..my battery is on 96%..is this normal.? or somethings draining my battery,?

this is normal since battery is heating itself while charging, and when it cools down it shows less percentage of itself... to maximaze your current battery life, calibrate the battery:
1. charge it to 100% no more no less
2. leave the charger PLUGGED IN, and reboot to CWM
3. there you should find somewhere under options or advanced "wipe battery stats", and you press that
4. reboot your device and when it starts up it will show about 91%, charge it to 100% and you have your battery calibrated
NOTE: the charger is always plugged in

Yes , that is recommended.
Also , one advice from me.
Even after calibration , whenever your phone says 100% charged , reboot it while the charger is plugged. You will get the exact battery charge after reboot.
Do it every time your recharge your phone.
Then stop rebooting when you get a 99% or 100% after a fresh reboot. Trust me , it helps.

The OP might not have needed to install a new ROM, just an APP or maybe just a combination of APPs running. My phone sometimes canes the battery in a couple of hours from 50% to nothing for no apparent reason. On both stock and custom (actually better battery life on custom) it lasts about a day but sometimes about 6 hours! Not sure what is going on as this happened on both the stock 1.6, 2.1 and the custom 2.3.4!
