Hiya guys,
Just tried to flash my Galaxy S i9000 to Froyo following Virnik0's post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818556
After doing the first part of the process Odin said 'reset' and then said '1 success/0 failed'
I then tried to go to step 8 but the phone wouldn't reboot itself. I was able to get it into Download mode so I just continued all the way to step 17.
Again it didn't reboot itself.
Now nothing is working.
When USB is connected it just shows the loading circle again and again.
With USB disconnected it just shows the Samsung Galaxy in white logo again and again.
I am able to get it into Download mode.
However I am unable to get it into Recovery mode.
Any help to get this baby working again would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Reflash following instructions in Block 2 method via Odin .from your link .
Dont go as far as step 9 .

HI,
I'm a complete newbie with the Android (power user in WM).
Using SGS i9000 with origin German ROM I9000XXJF3.
I was trying my first ROM reflash, but something seems to be very wrong.
This is what I did:
1. I rooted the device successfully using that guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728754
2. Downloaded and install from the market busybox
3. Then I followed the guide here: http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/Flash guide english.pdf .
Important, I was trying to install the ROM: I9000JPJG8 BUT with PIT 513
4. ODIN announced (on blue background ): reset, and the device returned into recovery mode (same I used for rooting the device).
5. I was trying to repeat the process, this time with PIT 512 with the same ROM.
6. It seems to successful. I saw the glowing Galaxy S, for sometime, then the device turned itself off.
Now all I get is the connect to PC (phone, orange exclamation mark & PC logos) logo.
I was trying to pull the battery out, restarted the PC, and was trying to reconnect to ODIN, but ODIN does not recognize the device.
I was trying to select in ODIN only "auto reboot", press start, but again nothing happened.
Very frustrating for a start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Amir.
Shalom amir,
go back to download mode and reflash with odin (512 pit). Should do the trick.
I've experienced the same thing before. I thought I bricked the phone but that wasn't the case.
Try to reflash your SGS on another computer. This PC that you used won't be able to find your SGS anymore until you successfully flashed it.

Hi Mike,
After numerous times, I've managed to return to downloading mode
I've achieved that by inserting the battery, while pressing vol down+power+home.
Now was able to reflash, and everything is good.

I did that too, but the problem was how to return to downloading mode..
Almost had a heart attack...
Thanks anyway guys!
I have been stuck on that screen more than I like but have found this to work the best.
1 - power down the device and remove battery / usb connection
2 - connect usb
3 - hold the volume up key while moving to step 4
4 - insert battery
I end up in the download screen everytime and then must start the Ordin3 flash quickly otherwise it just hangs on the download. I appears if I start the download within 15 seconds, works like a charm.

You are SUCH A LIFE SAVER!!! I tried every other thing on xda and youtube but the above steps are the only one that worked on my vibrant. The trick is to start ODIN ASAP after step 4 and start the flash (after selecting PIT and PDA file) or it won't work if you take your time
This happemed to me too nuty phone was going ibto download mode so I just reflashed it with 2.3.4
Sent from my sgs

Seeing as you can't get into download mode you're going to need to build a jig. Details are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
Once in download mode you need to flash a full firmware in odin (eg JM8)
Hi
I was trying to root my Galaxy with gingerbread 2.3.3.
I installed Odin3 and downloaded CF-Root-XW_NEE_JVH-v3.2-CWM3RFS put the tar in PDA on Odin, restarted my phone, put it into download mode, pluged in the USB, pressed start, and got a failure notice and that there was a Comm error.
I figured that there was not done anything to the phone since there was a comunitation error, so i unplugged the phone and tryed to start it up, but there was only a black screen with a picture of a phone...Triangle with !...and a PC sign.
I then tryed to look on the web for a clue, and someone was writing that Heimdall was so much better to use.
So i downloaded Heimdall-suite-1.3.1-win32 and opend XXJVT_Heimdall.tar in Heimdall, Connected the Phone in download mode and started the prossess, after a few moments i got error in uploading PIT and the whole thing aborted.
When i try to turn off the phone now, notting happens, not even the black screen with the triangle. Its only download mode that works.
Can someone plz help me? im lost!
If download mode works, it's should let u use odin again or not?
Don't worry. Rule of thumb: if you can get into download mode, you're fine.
Download a firmware of your choice (JVS being the newest, I've literally just flashed it). Boot into download mode and flash the firmware. You'll be back to stock. From here, you can install a custom kernel with root.
same kind of issue with me..the only difference cant get into download mode..stuck on the at&t logo..the phone keeps on flashing a white n black screen..any help?

now another problem comes in phone is not going into download mode?
could that b cause of battery gone down to less then 20%?
Your battery should be at least 50% before flashing.
i m not sure at the moment it was 90% before. my phone was going into download mode but i did 1click downloader and instaler at&t firmware and now its not going into download mode ??
You could try this nbkhan : Download Android sdk (google it as i cant post external links in forum yet)
Extract this at the loacation c:\AndroidSDK
Connect phone to PC and Install Drivers
now go to Start > RUN > type cmd
go to this directrory " c:\AndroidSDK\tools "
now type " adb reboot download "
Your phone will reboot and will go into bootmode.
You could also consider building or purchasing a usb jig(google it)
pc does not recognize my phone.
Were you were flashing an ics rom? if so you need nexus drivers installed on your comp which can be found here : w w w.multiupload.co.uk/BUCFT8M42N

You could try the one click unbrick from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153310 , if that does not work you will have to buy/make a usb jig to force download mode.
Jigs are well worth the money, just a couple of £/$ and save your phone.
Hey guys n gals really hoping for some help.
I was in the process of rooting one of my phones(Samsung Galaxy S vibrant) Done it many times on this phone plus my note and my tab2. I soft bricked the phone was able to get it into download mode instal an original 2.3 firmware to the phone via Odin. Now it wont go passed the Galaxy S Screen I cant get into download mode and it wont read the SD card(which has an ICS firmware on it for install) Any ideas on how I can get this back to even manufacturer steps?
When you enable download mode, android with a shovel doesn't appear, does it? That's doesn't metter. Just run Odin and connect smartphone to the computer. If ID:COM has appeared, download mode is active.
