And read page 16 as well and keep going on and on
After that go read the page 33, as to the last post i posted there

I've learned about this method after I flashed the original NoDo ROM. And now I can't get pass thru it anymore. I mean, whenever I try to flash other ROMs I'm always stuck with "NO VENDER ID".
Another thing, if ever I get pass thru this, how do I extract the NoDo ROM since its an exe file?
I have the NoDo ROM right now.
I hope I'm making any sense.
PS
The tutorial is great by the way.

And if our device is not from O2?
Should we use a ROM (the 1st from the tutorial) for our device insted of the O2?
Another question: is the RADIO frequence the same for all the region? Like, I have an ASIAN TMOB that I use here in Brazil. If I flash an European ROM, will it still works with my carrier (TIM)?

Found 2003SE ugly but at least useable. WM5 just runs too slowly for me. Do I just need to follow the 1.42 Rom flash tutorial on the wiki to reflash my existing Rom or are there specific steps that need to be done beforehand?
I changed the EXT Rom to 128K as per instructions for WM5 installation will this affect any reversal process?
Thx.
Hi
Yes, you have to do it 'special' way.
Just tell me why haven't you found this wiki page ?
Follow the process carefully.
There are bunch of people stuck with improperly downgraded devices (no risk though... they simply don't know how to repair it)
Good luck

Just execute the .exe, if you are lucky you won't get any county or model errors, but I doubt it. If you get errors, you will need to follow the instructions by cdaly1970

Well I tried to make it as simple as possible mate. And pretty much the rom by itje is as simple to use as possible.
I've always thought USPL sounded easier than a Hard-SPL. I just have the Flash Center on my desktop and change out the files in the RUU folder for new ROMs I want to try (On my second ROM now).
And don't forget David's Herald to Wing KB fix. David's pretty much a god to Wing users for the most part.
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3.
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

There's the link for a USPL.
Then pick out a ROM (I also suggest Touch-IT Vista, who needs a dull grey theme when you can have colors) and extract the contents to the RUU folder in the USPL's folder. Then run the exe in the USPL's folder.
That's pretty much how I do it, and follow the on screen steps.
Oh and make sure you're connected via ActiveSync 4.5 and NOT on Vista (I've never had success in Windows Vista).

WARNING! FLASHING USING GRANDPRIX DISASTERS
Everyone who wants to upgrade their ROM using GrandPrix please take this VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
You may kill your phone!
The i900DXHG4_PDA.bin file provided by chamid is the PDA ROM only. Samsung Omnia ROM has 4 different parts:
1. LOADER (also known as EBOOT)
2. PDA
3. CSC
4. PHONE
The disaster is that if you use the i900DXHG4_PDA.bin file incorrectly loaded into any other part rather than PDA, you will destroy that part. Look at the 3rd image attachement to see how I actually destroyed my Phone part using GrandPrix... It's no accident, the program forced me to click the PHONE button to load that .bin file.
Here are 3 case study for your beleive:
1. Myself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2553644&postcount=15
2. KChauJen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2554307&postcount=22
3. mr_tormoz: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2559075&postcount=49
You may explore the rest of this thread to see how we tried to solve the problem after destroying the Phone part. Good luck with your upgrades and play it safe!
THE ENGLISH ROM SOLUTION:
2 Methods
I - Using Official Updater (recommended)
Download the Official updater from here: Download Singaporean i900DXHG4
You will get 3 files:
1. Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (optional)
2. SamsungModem_xp.zip (Samsung Modem Driver)
3. i900DXHG4 updater_xp.exe (Samsung Omnia Firmware Uupgrade)
Follow the instruction from Samsung.
If you encounter the "Incorrect Software Version" message you can find solution here: Incorrect Software Version
If that still doesn't work, try i900DZHG3, you can download from here: Download i900DZHG3
The latest ROM at the moment is DXHH1 (reconstructed, tested OK): Download i900DXHH1
For other ROMs and how to avoid the "Incorrect Software Version", click here
II - Using GrandPrix (not recommended for beginner)
Update 28 Aug 2008: I found a very comprehensive guide how to update to HH1.
If using the Official updater doesn't work, you may choose this alternative method.
1. download GrandPrix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=108238&stc=1&d=1219556479
2. download the PDA ROM binary file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ne0nalozyy2
3. You will get i900DXHG4_PDA.rar, extract it.
3.1 Copy the Grandprix folder to the root dir of your windows XP ex C:\Grandprix then put your image files PDA.bin etc in the Grandprix folder. This way when you click on PDA it will immediately find the file. (suggested by bobsbbq)
4. Run GrandPrix,
4.1 Set the profile to Grandprix LV image (reminded by bobsbbq)
4.2 click the PDA button and browse for i900DXHG4_PDA.bin. Caution: Do not mount the file to the Phone button, otherwise your PDA is doomed, read above warning.
4.3 if the PDA button doesn't detect i900DXHG4_PDA.bin, then you should use Explorer, right click on the file and click "Open With..." and then browse for the GrandPrix program.
5. Click Detect & restart your PDA. The process will be done in bootloader mode, so no ActiveSync required.
NOTE: I do not take responsibility if you destroy your phone function using this guide. You MUST read the whole thread before deciding to use GrandPrix. Goodluck.
THE ORIGINAL THREAD STARTER
Hi guys,
I'm struggling for so many days trying to flash my Omnia ROM into English. Here is what happened.
I bought this PDA online in China. It turned out to be from Philippine. It has SGH-i900 model written on the label under the battery.
The PDA version was i900DZHG1/DZHG1
The ROM version was i900DXHG1, as shown on the "original ROM.jpg" image.
Here are the steps I did before asking for help:
1. I searched all over the Internet using Google. Explored all xda-developers.com and other PDA forums.
2. I found the ROM from Samsung Omnia for SGH-i900 here: http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omnia/index.jsp
3. I tried to flash my Omnia, it says "Incorrect Software Version".
4. I followed the instruction to fix the "Incorrect Software Version" problem here: http://www.modaco.com/content/samsu...ftware-version-when-updating-fix/#entry908015
The numbers worked, I found out the preconfiguration already was Singapore. Tried to reapplied that succesfully, but still "Incorrect Software Version".
5. I found this ROM SGH-i908 from here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bjfs0b .
The upgrade process worked. But it turned out to be Chinese again. Now it has the following tech details: PDA: i908ZHHG8, as shown on the "i908 ROM.jpg" image
6. I tried to flash the SGH-i900 ROM provided for Singapore again. The same problem.
So HELP! I need your help. It's too time consuming. I already tried my best but it's just not working.
I know people used to cook ROM. Is there any cooked English ROM for this Omnia? If not, does anyone have a software to extract the ROM from the upgrade .exe file and use a custom program to flash the ROM with it?
I should also mention here that I already tried "hard reset" but it's not working at all. It's nearly impossible to hard reset this PDA, and when it finally hard-reset, the "Incorrect Software Version" message still on.
Have you tried using the Omnia updater again after flashing the i908 rom?
There is another thread here which had a HG5 rom. However, no details were given as to which rom it belongs:

Yes, I forgot to mention I did try again after having the i908 installed. No hope
mmm I have a feeling you need to wait for a higher build or someone to cook a custom rom. From what I've read elsewhere you cannot flash to a lower(official)build in Omnia. I could very well be wrong.

I myself am looking for some way to "hack" these files. I wish someone can do it. Samsung is so strange when requiring the device to be connected via MS ActiveSync. The Chinese version one did it on the bootloader mode.
Hi guy, your situation is exactly like mine. But finally i managed to upgrade the rom to offical G4 version.
Some keynote:
First upgrade to English G3 rom , then G4
If you got "Incorrect software version", do this:
* Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
* With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
* Select 'Preconfiguration'
* Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
* Select 'Singapore', with the default Operator
* Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET
* Run update, and all should be well.
If you can't find the rom donwload link, please feel free to ping me.
BTW, I've tried a lot to cook the rom. Now I can rip the PDA part from the .exe upgrader, and extract all files from it. Then repack them to the nb0, but now have no idea to convert the nb0 to the B000F format.

GrandPrix flash the bootloader part using the nb0 format, but the pda part bin format. The only thing I need is to convert the pda.nb0 to pda.bin, then flash it.

Not sure if i780 kitchen tools work, but you can search for famusc kitchen tools and in it, there is a pdf instructions on how to convert from part02.raw to nb0.payload back to nb0 and finally to flashable bin.
Again, just a warning, this MAY NOT work on an Omnia.

Hi, i've been testing some ROMs and well, i had a nice experience at trying more than 13 ROMs, really fascinating to see how people can do "miracles" and put my Xperia into a good level.
Bad thing is (its normal) all of them got minor bugs or those things that well, i dont like. I'm just a noob at mobile phones and i dont feel very comfortable when i think my phone got bugs
So as long as SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 has arrived, i'd like to come back to the original ROM for Xperia, but i don't find it :'(... so maybe you could help me
Could you tell me where to find the most updated ORIGINAL rom for my xperia?

The number after the R relates to software release, 3 being the newest one. i would recommend using R3. Just pick the right one for your location.
One thing to note though, when you download and extract the rom it's got a .image extension, it will need renaming as a .nbh
If you flash using the SD Card method you'll need to rename it as KOVSIMG.nbh.
Hope this helps, good luck.

i mean:
I am from Spain and i'm with Vodafone, my mobile phone can only be used with vodafone SIM cards, which ROM should i get?

If i can use both, which is better?
Thx !

ty 4 answer ^^ gonna see it !
still my question !
generic or vodafone?
both will work, there will only be minor differences!
but is your xperia branded vodaphone on the battery?
if it is then your proper stock rom would be vodaphone one
if it says x1 i think it should be generic!

when i get battery off from my xperia, and watch what is written in my pda, it says X1
if you mean the black metal case, which must be taken to manually extract battery, it says vodafone
i think u mean this, the vodafone one ^^
ill get vodafone one then ! thx !
BTW i downloaded this, and there's only an image file
only way to do this is via SD? i was used to flash just with an exe and go, coz when i try to flash via SD, i get the message "no image file!" :/

There isn't. As someone above already said, you have to change the file extension from .image to .nbh.
If you want to use SD-card flashing, you have to rename the whole file to kovsimg.nbh and then copy it to your sd-card.
The easiest way to flash is using X1_CustomRUU.exe (use search or look in the stickies to find this). Then connect your xperia to the pc with a USB cable, let it connect to activesync/wmdc and run customruu.exe
If your .nbh file is in the same directory as customruu.exe, it will flash that rom.

Here's how to change the radio

here's the whole thread

And you need to find the latest radio for your phone possibly one that worked with windows mobile 6.51. Before you ask which one ..I have to say that I won't be able to help you as I don't own a vogue. I guess you could make a new thread and ask users which radios work best for them on vogue.

The link has been fixed and go here for instructions: http://techf1.blogspot.com/2010/04/coming-soon-installing-android-21-on.html. I would advise you to use the gingerbread image.

I have download the files for the radio 3.42.50 on the tread that you gave. I rename the .nbh in RUU_signed.nbh and put it on the Rom Update utility and start the update.
It gave me the right radio and I click on update. I load to 8 % and after gave me an error
Error 328 Invalid Command
I have to exit the update process and the phone reboot to the old Scoot CyanogenMod that is already install with the old radio. I think I miss something but can't find it.
Can someone help me ??

The only other thing I can think of is to have the latest radio from Windows Mobile. When you were using windows mobile, did you ever flash a custom rom? If you did then that may have fixed your problem if you were using the latest radio version. If you weren't, then I guess if you want to fix your problem, you're gonna have to flash a windows mobile 6.5.x rom with the latest radio and then flash android.

When you were using it, what was your radio version? If it was the latest, then it should have been 3.42.50. I read that for "Bell" users like you, the radio 3.42.50 is recommended for this installation.

did you read the whole post that i had provided before??? there isasolution to yourproblem there.
Way 3 (I know I said two ways...): There are a few
stock roms that come with new radios. One of
them can be downloaded directly from HTC and it
is for the Sprint Touch. This one comes with Radio
3.42.30
The other one is for Bell Mobility and this one
comes with Radio 3.42.50.
Why am I giving "Way 3" if the other two options
seem much easier?? I have run into the problem
where my device would not let me flash other
radios than the one that I had. SD card method
did not work and the RUU started out fine but
quits at 8% rebooting my phone and displaying
Error 328 in the RUU on the PC. Anyway, here are
the links...

I've read the whole post but I don't understand the 3rd way. If I click on the Bell rom with radio 3.42.50 it bring me to the HTC site and there nothing to download.
I've try to download the All Above Radios zipped. It gave me 3 files in a zip. I rename the file 3.42.50 in RUU_signed.nbh and put it in the folder of the ROMUtilityUpdate. Maybe is there I do something wrong ...
Did I miss something ???
