I have Sony font for my DX that came with a the Liberty Rom, but I want it for the captivate, I searched the captivate forums and didnt find a thing? Anyone know where to find this or if it is somehow possible to get it from my DX?
If you download "Root Tools" by Jrummy16 and go to the goodie add-on section, there's a Sony font, and it will apply it to the whole phone. Good luck !
If you reflash liberty can you back it up with titanium backup?

Since now Xperia X10 is widely available in India and else where, Is it possible to port Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Timescape and Mediascape interfaces to our very own Nexus One. It's just exploring the possibilities offered by this eye catching customization for Nexus one... Seems our respected cookers will have real challenge in hand... Very Best of Luck.. I am sure nothin is impossible.
The X10 should be rooted first so we can get the full ROM

I'm sure developers are working on that ...
I read a tweet from Enomther yesterday regarding the SonyX10 de-odex'd including app/apk's , and there is a file to download ( 52.75MB .zip ) but can't confirm it 100% ...
Isn't the X10a shipping with 1.5 or 1.6? I would think the Timescape/Mediascape apps would have some pretty significant issues running on Android 2.1. Wouldn't it be more prudent to wait until the X10 is (eventually/hopefully) updated to 2.1 or better?
Yea they are 1.6 (sdk4 vs our sdk7, I think).
No matter how pretty it is I will NEVER go lower than 2.1, that's why I got the phone in the first place.

Here here. There is too much to lose going below 2.1 even if we do gain the flashy whiz bang interface of the X10. I am happy with CM and can always switch to the modaco desire rom if I need a more fancy interface

X10 Full ROM has been post already, I download before but can't get the Timescape and Mediascape to install via Astro File Manager, haven't try direct push in yet. Maybe due to different android version, may need some expert make it workable in 2.1.

i've already de-odexed x10's apps, and modded the build.prop. the apps install but don't show up. it's more trouble than it's worth. this has to be ported from the ground up for the nexus
the source was just released:

This is my one regret with getting the Nexus One instead of the SE X10. Mediascape looks really nice. None of the N1 music players come close. Really hope somebody ports it.
Is there a port out there for the HTC EVO yet?
can't remember where, but it was a port, but it never pulled all my music. so i deleted it.
Has anyone found a way to get timescape and mediascape on other devices. I have an nexus S that is begging for it.
Ive been searching this forum to no end to get some information on installing voodoo....every page I read has conflicting information. I have the leaked froyo JI6 and cannot find a voodoo lag fix only instruction set....if anyone with this ji6 has installed voodoo can you please tell me how and if its worth it? also whats with this reddening of the screen? Anyway thanks to all xda people this site rocks.
ps. in addition to the leaked froyo ive rooted with the one click super root. Just a beginner but this lag fix sounds like a necessity
You would have to flash a kernel that has voodoo through odin onto you're phone. My suggestion would be to return to stock then pick out a custom 2.2 rom. Several have voodoo as well as many improvements over what you are using

Ive looked through some....looks as if cognition is pretty popular....can i ask YOUR recommendation good sir? Theres tons of them and id like to stick with one close to what im running now...i love the lay out and the way i have it set up....just want to improve this lag....tried ryans oclf and it was absolute crap. All it did was manipulate quadrant...had absolutely 0 real world effect. Ive noticed that cognition doesnt have the froyo style google bar at the the top with the blue g. call me picky 8)

Are you rooted? If so run a titanium backup for all your user apps, no system data.
I have never used the ji6 leak so as to the look I do not know for certain
cognition is based on leaked captivate froyo, like what you are on. Many, like the rom I am on are on leaks our official releases from other devices.
Voodoo is vastly beter then ryan za oclf. From what you are saying flash stock then cognition. I believe that would be the closest.
If you do not like cognition there are many options out there. If you need help along the way pm me.
Google bar you are talking about is just a widget I believe. It can be there if you want it to

Many thanks and happy new year!
You could just pull the kernel out of the cognition rom and flash that. It will bee the zimage file in the updates folder. Easiest method is using sgs kernel flasher app that neldar created. Then you could keep what you have and enjoy voodoo lagfix as well until you find a rom that you want to try.
Sgs kernel flasher. It is an app in the market that the last poster mentioned. Looks like you can use it to change your kernel and get voodoo. I have not used it yet though

See THATS what im talkin about. You guys rock. Once I flash the kernel...which voodoo do i use? Not sure that lagfix only is availabe....have you seen a screen problem with voodoo? One guy said his screen had a red tint and im not really into that kinna stuff. lol
Voodoo uses ext4 file system so not really a choice other than on/off or choosing to use it for /system (yes by default). I have not seen a screen color change using kernels with the "color fix" and I don't think the kernel in cognition even utilizes it, though I could be wrong.

This is as far as i got last night... I downloaded cognition 2.3 b8 to my laptop. Opened the update folder and selected zimage file and moved it to the phone.....opened sgs kernel flasher and selected zimage....but couldnt bring my self to hit choose and reboot....am i doing this the right way? do i need to back up? i dont mind reinstalling apps and my contacts are synced with google...i just wanted to make sure im doing this properly. Thanks again
Use app to backup your current kernel. You should be fine

That is normal, voodoo loading.
Pay it forward
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
what does pay it forward mean? lol seriously tho id like to contribute some cash money for the help...how does it work? never paid people from the internet before 8D
I can not speak for the other gentleman, but I am no dev. Pay it forward means take the time to help someone else if you can.
If you want to make a donation, design gears created cog, and the kernel. And I think neldar created the kernel swapping app

Once again many thanks and a prosperous new year to you. Im gonna go play with the phone now.

one last question. if hell freezes over and we DO get an official 2.2 pushed to our phones.....the method to disable voodoo is the same for us leaked 2.2 folk correct? making a folder that says disable lagfix ?
If the kernel does not have disable built into recovery, yes disable lagfix folder in voodoo folder on sd card will disable it. Also, if you use Odin to get back to stock it will wipe out the ext4 file system.

Great. I prefer the odin anyway, less chance of destroying something out of stupidity. Cool thanks
First of all I am a noob but reading your threads, i was able to root my captivate and install cognition v2.3b8 on my phone... everything works great... i have a dumb question... the new setup came with 6 home screen/ windows... i want to delete all the windows/screens and just keep one... but after long search have been unable to find a way. Can somebody please help. Thanks
You need to find a launcher in the market that you like and stick with that so you are not always at the whim of the developer with regard to the launcher included in the rom. The launcher included in that rom is not customizable...at least not in a user friendly way.
Thanks
Ok that makes... any recommendations for the launcher? Something that keeps the original look
zeam is my favorite and worth trying

If you're a complete noob the easiest way to get a gingerbread look on your captivate would be flashing a theme package the same way you flashed your rom.
The best and safest way for a beginner I think is to follow a youtube video and this one shows you all the steps with a preview of what you're about to install. But as said before you need to have ClockworkMod the same method you probably used for flashing your rom.

I have looked and I may have missed it, but I was wanting to know for certain if miui or cm roms can install on stock rooted 2.2.2 frg83 droid 1/og. I have miui on my x and my husband FINALLY let me get my hands on his (my old) droid. I can not find any where that lists the system requirements. I really dont want him to see me have to sbf his phone or anything... that may make him think I killed it. it has cwm, titanium backup and rom manager pro.. any link to a list of roms I can use would be great I am sorry if I over looked this somewhere. It seems the droid 1 has been left in the dust.
Thanks in advance
1. Would HO!NO! Mod CM7.1.3 ICS Edition be slower than a stock android 2.2.1 (rooted)?
2. How would I backup my phone if I don't like the rom and how would I reinstall it?
3. If i install that particular mode mentioned above, Does that mean I have ICS on my phone?
thx. i'm a noob.

I'm guessing you're using a Milestone. I'm not familiar with the ROMs for it or backup/recovery procedures, but the one question I can answer is #3. You would have Gingerbread, not ICS if you installed that ROM. CM7 is based on Android 2.3, CM9 on Android 4.0 (ICS). As the first post in the thread you linked says, that ROM has a 2.3.7 base with ICS theming, which is kind of like putting a Mustang body on a Ford Tempo.

oh ok thx. but would the ICS theming have any performance impact or none? and yea i have a Milestone
first of all installing a custom rom makes u get plenty of features. 2nd it wont get u the brute speed of the official froyo but it gives many more features in the expense of speed
3rd yaa u can intall ics theme for cm7 theme chooser it will give you a clone of ics .....
add a thanks if it was helpfull

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983516 this is the way to do in on our milestone
k thx. everything is working.
BUT now i get " no service " . I first got this when i installed open Recovery. How do i fix this? I tried changing my baseband to Canada and to telus but it still dones't work. I Also tried restoring the backup i installed and it still didn't work
BTW it is a Motorola Milestone from Telus ( i think it's a A853). But it was originally unlocked to be use on Rogers. I think the original .SBF file i used was the cause of the no service.
yaa most probably.. . thus bug has been noted down by many users .. why dont u flash the original sbf back and try?
add a thanks if it was helpfull

ok i finally fixed it for good (hopefully). I found out that even tho I bought Milestone in Canada, It was a Europe version. I randomlly picked the UK .sbf and now I have service.
thx for all your help shalom06
