I running the Hero rom and LOVE the widgets but the fact on how slow and that I not getting all my texts is causing an issue... That and the fact my Gmail not working like it did before is making me go back but i love the calendar widget and the messages widget, so my question is, would it be possible to get them to work say on Cy's rom? Thank You.
First of all, if u have used the latest JacHero rom, the text problem and the gmail problems have been fixed. If you are patient and have some time, you can make your hero rom very very smooth. If you need help on making your hero rom run smooth and with no lag just give me a pm .
Edit: As of right now, there are no hero widgets for cupcake but someone might be working on it. Im not completely sure

For some reason i wasn't able to get texts still, and my gmail never came through I would like to help make it smoother however I not able to partition my class 6 have to get it exchanged and my class to can't do. Oh and don't really know about programing to be able to do anything

i know right some people do it just to boost their post count.
what i did jsut now was type in"hero widget" into the market and found 9 results. but i havent looked thru the results since i run hero already

What are some of the neat things you can do? What settings have you changed? I JUST found out that there was another keyboard other than the android touch.
I did not know where this was appropriate and did not want to junk up cyans rom thread. Hope this is okay and apologies if its not. Just want to know what other cool features I am missing out on, and to also see what settings people roll with.

Best way to get the whole story is to compare the changelog of 3.6.8.1 to 4.0.1 which is available in their respective threads. One thing that was cool was the global search function from donut but that go reverted in 4.0.1. It will probably make an appearance in the 4.x.x experimental series however.....
I should clarify, I did not have 3.6.8.1 long enough to find all the easter eggs either. What settings do you change or things do you use after flashing his rom?

yeah i'd also like to know.. im also new to the art of the root.. i also have my own questions
i know the myfaves app doesnt work, in fact doesnt even appear lol, but the actual myfaves service still works right?
and do the im apps work? im talking about the native one. it doesnt seem to be working for me =/
also, i want my settings optimized for overall speed.. what do you guys use for this?

You don't want the mygayes app on your phone anyways, its just a hog. It still does work, if you need to set it up just go to your online account and do it.
What native im app are you talking about, its been to long since I had the factory rom installed. But I can vouch for aim and googletalk do work.
If you are on Cyanogens rom everything should be optimized to full speed.
yeah i never used the myfaves thing to begin with, thats why when i heard its gone if you root, i didnt really care lol. plus i was already planning on getting rid of the whole service anyway. but thanks!
im talking about the one that comes with the phone. has aim, msn, and yahoo. i try logging but it just endlessly keeps saying "signing in..". im not sure if i just have to wait, or if its not working.

^ which was not the intention... I am fully aware of IM and MyFaves. I mean very literally, do you alter/change anything when loading cyans rom? I.E., turning off the android keyboard.

I guess I'll chime in. One of the reasons I flashed to this rom over an old roger's rom was for VPN. That and the sweet power widget.

Direct and Supreme... you guys aren't really helping, so why post? I'm not asking how to root.... i've read the release notes.... I'm not asking anything I think is silly. I just want to know what settings you guys change and if there are any things you find particularly cool with his rom. I am embarrassed I just found out how to use the keyboard, so I guess you can pick on that... but please, do it over PM and not here.

Point taken...my appologies...Supreme and I like to keep things lighthearted and have some fun. I'm sure I speak for him when I say we both apologize for offending you.
To answer your question....I was pretty much being completely serious about reading the change logs and comparing. That's where I get most of my info but as far as settings go, I second someone else's poste about the badass power widget. I also like the 5 homescreen options, the logcollector app is nice for troubleshooting, the fact that the buld.prop file has been changed slightly means that the new version of "My Account" runs properly without any futzing around, and playing around with the text app is fun because of the mms enhancements courtesy of rgv151.
Many of the other enhancements that make cyan's ROMs awesome are behind the scenes that just make it run faster (kernel tweaks, CPU scaling etc). These have no options available to the user, they just are part of the build that contribute to cyanoganized awesomeness.

Just like Direct said we ain't tryna make fun or nothing. We do help out alot, but after a long boring day of programming at work we got to do something fun to help pass time away. And hey we really didn't even joke around unlike the other thread. Best thing to do is just play around with the phone, try out all the apps, play with the settings, and just explore. Like Direct said alot of things are behind the scenes.

I figured it was close. I stay in Huntsville. And been thru there a couple times. Think we even had a car show in Franklin a couple years back.
I truly love Swype on my Hero but yesterday completely unexpected I got a popup that stated "Your trial period has ended. Please upgrade your copy of Swype." How can I do this!? I've searched everywhere but I have no idea what I am looking for. Thanks.

Almost all the older ones are now showing a popup and disabling themselves.
But another version is posted and it works fine on 2.1

Thanks for more of your helpful input fixxxer... wtf? This is a thread about the fact that those of us who do like and use Swype every day are s.o.l. atm and are looking for a solution. Thank you for letting us know you don't like swype and use the htcime kb instead.
I'm using the one from THIS POST, so far so good.
If I'm not mistaken I think thats an older copy. Even though it's working I'd love to get a hold of a newer version, or heck I'd love for the people who made Swype to let be BUY it from them. I would pay at least $5 for Swype.
This is what I got AFTER the other one started with the "end of trial" BS.

I vouch. I installed this one in my new mod. Ive had this version for testing ever since it was released. I have a few copies, registered to me(I themed the new one)it works perfectly and does NOT expire. Check out the black glass version of the one that expires and swap the keyboards folder inside if you want a black one that does not expire. Or just color all the pngs to YOUR liking. Just an easy way to get a black swype that doesnt expire. OR YOU CAN JUST GO HERE...

If not, that's fine. Does anyone know if the other (older) versions of Axura are customizable like this or what? Also, does anyone have other versions of Axura? This is the first custom ROM that I actually like.

Please do not come into another thread or create your own thread and bash another devs work. That is one way to really get people pissed at you. I had that created as we are coming into the holidays. Unless you do not celebrate Christmas, you have no reason opening your mouth. If you want something done the way you want it, do it yourself. Also, if you want a different wall paper, just make sure it is sized correctly and put it on your damn SD card and apply it.
You successfully flashed a rom, but can't figure out how to change the wallpaper or post in the correct forum?

He doesn't like the frigging wallpaper and I'm sure he didn't think before asking...sheese...it's not like he says the rom sucks..he says he likes it... What is up with this cussing someone out ? Why not show him the proper way of doing things and asking for things in the correct place ?

You really need to check your attitude some.People ask thing in the wrong sections everyday.. and it's for the moderators to deal with..not you and for the record...yes...you did curse at him...since you ended your rather rude post with telling him about his "damn" sd card..so the whole tone of that conversation is quite evident...It doesn't take a lot to see how agrivated you are at him...but you need to back off no-matter how much hard work you have put in on Axura...because this kind of attitude,coming from you, towards someone else liking or disliking something about your rom flies in the face of what you have been saying all along on that thread on just how different it is and how people are treated...If you care to take this to PM's with me...feel free.

Hi guys,
I'm using Swype on my 2X and absolutley love it, but I keep having a problem with it.
When I tap in the text box to type, I will swype the word but it won't work.... I can tap the letters individually and they will type out but the swyping action won't work at all... I just get a blue outline around the keyboard very briefly but no words / letters appear.
Anyone else having this problem?
Going to "language and keyboard" and deactivating Swype and then reactivating seems to fix the problem.. but very annoying if you have to keep on doing it.

Thanks this has helped me also as I was having the same problem - although Swype's solution is more of a workaround as its still annoying enough for me to use the normal keyboard instead.
I think JamgoMango must have just skimmed through the first sentence where it talks about licensing mate! Slight overreaction there me thinks!

I know what you mean mate, is very annoying having to switch keyboards and then switch back again... swype is so good IMHO though that its worth the effort until properly fixed.
I don't think I have over reacted though, not considering I have been wrongly accused of software piracy... he should get his facts straight before he starts accusing people. Lessons need to be learned.

I love swype and the keyboard but it's kind of annoying that it stops working if you loose reception. Is this whole licensing/re-authentication deal of the swype app a beta-only thing of willl the final version also have to be "online" all the time?
I'm on the Swype beta list, and i have to re-license swype after every reboot.

If you have to re-licence it then you're doing something wrong.
You just have to go to the settings, activate the lg keyboard and then back to the swype.

If you had read the posting gk141054 linked to, you would know that by switching the swype keyboard off/on you are in fact making the app re-license/re-authenticate itself.
