[Q] Slow Wall Charging Speed? - Nook Color General

Hello everyone,
So the last few days I have been playing around with bluetooth and wifi and some pretty heavy use on my Nook, but my question is when I have to charge the device, it seems to charge VERY slowly. I plugged it in overnight for over 8 hours and when I woke up the next morning it had still not charged to 100%, and this was with bluetooth off and running processes shut down.
I am currently running CM7 with the 1.1 OC speed and bluetooth add on if that makes any difference on the charging speed.
Thanks!

Feedback anyone? I just timed a 0 to 100 charge and it was easily over 12 hours. Does that seem odd?

Battery Question

Is it possible for the Hero to drain its battery faster than it charges?
My phone completely died, so I plugged it into my laptop and then I started playing Angry Birds and after a couple minutes the phone turned off. While still on the charger, I pressed power, then the orange LED turned off and then came back on. I noticed the phone was hot, so I took it off the charger, took out the battery and let the phone and battery cool down for about 5 minutes. I plugged it back in and tried turning it on and the same thing happened. I left it plugged in for another 5 minutes, and I was very concerned that I had bricked it - Mainly because I had been messing with overclocking. I tried turning it on again and it came on. So, I figured the battery had drained faster than my laptop could charge it.
I just installed the october 12 update of the mod from: "[ROM] (UPDATED 19-OCT) FroYo 2.2 - CM6 Extremely Blue, Red, BlackMod, Vanilla" (the black version). I also recently installed overclock widget and have been running at 691,200. The last app I installed was the day of the event, and that was Bubble (the level app).
Thanks for the info!
Yes, when plugging into a computer, the Hero can drain faster than it charges. When using a USB port on a PC, the Hero only trickle charges. The AC adapter charges much quicker.

[Q] Battery life question

I've read a few threads regarding battery life but none seem to address my problem. I have the Galaxy tab running stock honeycomb bone stock got it 3 days ago still got protective tape on it. But the problem I have is I charged it all night while off from 0% to 80% (8 hour period) shouldn't it charge more then that? Also while using it at work on its charging dock plugged in via wall charger (same as when its charging at night) it seems to charge SUPER slow or not at all, it actually drains some times while plugged in. Any ideas?
Try charging it using the charger you got with the tablet, not the charging dock. I don't know exactly about the charging dock, but I know that it takes longer for the tablet to charge on USB.

Averate charging time?

Hello everyone. I have this phone for a week right now and I'm really impressed how brilliant it is! I love it. But there are some questions I want to ask you and one of it is:
What is your average charging time from ~0% to absolutely full 100%? In my case it's about 3 or even 4 hours of constant charging. Even when on 100%, my widget (Battery life by Curve fish) doesn't show it's fully charged - still I have to leave my phone connected and after 30/40 minutes it says "full" and I can disconnect it. It's pretty strange because the charger is meant to have 1,5A output which is VERY BIG current in comparison with Xperia PLAY's charger (850mA). And many reviews of this phone say that the full charging cycle takes about 1h 30min from 0 to 100... What do you think?

Are you using it while charging 3-4 hours, if you are using it, it's charged and discharged at the same time?
But from what I know - thermal throttling is the cause again. Especially if you're using it.
Maybe it charges 1,5Ah for the first 15 - 30 minutes, but then the current goes down, because of the temperature.
Somewhere between 80-100% it is normal, that it takes longer. The charging current is as low as high is the battery charging state.

[Q] Fun with fast charging in car

OK so I am running Trickdroid 9.1 with ElementalX kernel set to fast charging. I also have a specialist fast charging USB cable (no data). The car charger supposedly outputs 2.1 amps (at least one each port and I am only using one).
So basically before I found out about AC charge mode my battery was draining out when running NavFree app. Even when I changed to fast charge mode with an older (thin) USB data cable it was losing charge when running NavFree. Which is why I got the fast charge cable.
Now it seems to retain it's charge when running the app. At least it does not drain. However it never seems to charge either. It was on 78% charge and stayed like that throughout a 10 mile test journey. Using Battery Monitor Widget it shows that it never rose much over 600mA usage. But mostly used a lot less and sometimes dawdled around the trickle charge values.
Is there a reason why it won't charge up the battery whilst running an app like NavFree at the same time?

I will offer that if you don't have power saver on that ROM you're probably SOL.

Yes power saver mode is on. thanks for the link I am reading through it. So far it seems the HTC sucks on car chargers (but doesn't draw enough or if it does causes battery overheating issues if in a warm climate or have heating on).
The best results for me have been making sure you are using AC charging and have power save mode on. If I use that method my phone charges but it's a slow process.

It will draw *up to* 1A, but only when mostly discharged. Try it with, say, 20% charge, you should get higher current.
Once the battery hits around 4.3V, charging changes from constant current to constant voltage; the current drops.

Which is a terrible algorithm when you want your phone charged to max when driving using satnav apps. I want my phone to get a full charge on a journey. Not be down to 78% or lower at the end of it. I may need the phone for the next couple of days without being able to charge it.

Updated charging strategy

Hi,
I wondered if anybody had noticed any recent changes in the way that their Note 4 charges. I have a QI wireless charging back, and I've noticed over the last couple of days that overnight my phone charges to 100%, and then stops charging. This means that when I wake up, the phone is a few % off fully charged.
I'm sure that the phone used to charge to 100%, and then effectively stay there until I removed it from the charging pad.
The only thing, other than a change of behaviour associated with a ROM version, that I could put this down to is that I have changed the USB cable I've been using with the charging pad, but I'm not sure how that could have this effect?
Has anybody else noticed any changes with the latest ROM release(s)? I'm using an N910F with the 8933508 changelist.
Cheers,
Steve.
Hi Steve,
Not sure if this is of help, I'm on an N910C with 6.0.1 firmware DPE6, Kernel 3.10.9-7633655. I'm sitting here with my Note 4 on my Choetech 3-coil wireless charger, having just charged it from 83% - 100%. The phone is staying at 100% - in fact I've had the screen on for the past 10 minutes or more, using the phone for various tasks, with WiFi and Bluetooth on, and it's still at 100%. I recently (about 2 months ago) got a new battery direct from Samsung, so that may be a factor. Perhaps your battery is getting past its best?

My battery is a relatively new Anker, and isn't exhibiting any issues (it lasts all day, no problem).
Cheers,
Steve
