under android adb interface in device manager
unsure if this is because of the 1.1 firmware possibly I noticed that most are running older firmware??
"not working" does not tell anyone enough to help you.
You need to say what you are doing and what is the result that is wrong.
Try adb wireless...

I have read several guides concerning how to take screenshots on your unrootet Android device using the Android SDK and the Dalvik Debug Monitor, guides such as this one:

But it doesn't seem to work on my HTC Legend. When i run DDMS, my device isn't found within the program. Is there simply a compatibility issue with newer Android phones such as the Legend, or is it possible that I am doing something wrong? Has anyone else got it to work?
Perhaps this is a really lame problem for people more experienced with this stuff, but please help a newbie!
Working perfekt for me.
You have usbdebugging on?

Yep, but your device, is it rooted? Perhaps that is the difference then.
Oh, and i read somewhere that you had to have device specific drivers i you use Windows for this, what would that be in this case?
Root is of course NOT needed.
But you must have adb drivers installed.
But they should been installed together with the adb-package
Check in your system devices what mode th USB phone is connected/called.
In windows 7x64
my phone is connected as:
Android Phone/
Android Composite ADB Interface
Google, Inc

2.0.10.2
Drivers:
C:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
C:\Windows\system32\WdfCoInstaller01007.dll
C:\Windows\system32\WinUSBCoInstaller.dll

My system doesn't seem to recognize the device as anything specific at all. It's just an unknown USB-device. Any ideas why this is the case?
Update #1: After a little research it all comes down to that my Legend doesn't seem to install the ADB drivers correctly. Would a hard-reset help here?
Uptade #2: Solved it, added a command line which i found on google to the USB-drivers that came with the SDK, to make it support the HTC Legend.
Last night, I try to use USB tethering, so my PC which running Windows XP SP3 can use Internet temporarily, my device manager shows the device as "Galaxy S". I've tried downloading countless driver updates but to no success. From what I've researched, Windows 7 can install the drivers automatically, but XP can't.
So, does anybody have a clue about the driver?

Exactly. You'll need the Android SDK and in this SDK the Nexus-drivers are implemented (Samsung-drivers won't work anymore cause CM7 is no Samsung-based ROM.

Can anyone give me the link of which XP driver is needed for USB tethering.
CM7 Nightly
OK, I'm trying to flash from CM7. I've installed the Android SDK with Nexus S usb drivers. I can get into download mode, that's not the issue. The issue is that the computer will recognize a mass storage device and an Android Composite ADB interface (my phone) however, it will also say UNRECOGNIZED device. I've read thread after thread on here and have followed all the different suggestions and I've tried all different USB ports on my computer. The only thing I haven't tried is a different cable. ODIN will not recognize my phone no matter if it's 1click or not. I even tried installing ubuntu on my computer and when I chose to boot that instead of windows, it gave me all sorts of errors and wouldn't go any farther. suppose I need a dedicated linux machine. anyway. I'm at my wits end trying to get rid of CM7. can it really be this damn difficult to flash over it?? I really don't know what else to do besides a different cable, but I don't really see how that would be the problem, considering when I have no drivers installed, windows recognizes my phone as a captivate and wants to install the captivate drivers......even though I've already installed them?? my phone ends up showing up as the Android Composite ADB Interface, which I mentioned earlier. Can someone please for the love of God freakin' help me get this off my phone? I am still have very horrible battery life and it is too buggy still for me to use it everyday. I would appreciate any response I get. YES, I know I've posted with this problem before, that thread went no where and actually got deleted. but OK.
Try using a different computer, preferably with a different OS(win 7 instead of XP, etc).
What kind of error when installing Ubuntu? Only error I had using wubi installer was windows-no disc (just keep clicking continue until the install wizard pops up)
After installing ubuntu it wanted to reboot. So I did. I chose to boot into ubuntu it flashed some errors real quick with no time to read then rebooted. Did this several times. Don't know what the problem is. I will have to search for access to a win 7 machine. Seriously though I'm ready to smash my phone. This should not be this hard.

Alright i've searched and can't find an answer for this. when i connect without usb debugging drivers are installed but then when i reconnect in usb debugging in order to root via cf-root the phone isnt recognized and in device manager in the control panel, there is no adb drivers installed like zedomax explains in his video. i must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out. not sure it matters but im also running on windows 7(64 bit) via bootcamp on my mac. i used this setup all the time with my infuse and never had problems though

Hey Gang!
Ok, Here's the problem, No matter which rom I run, I cannot get the ADB Drivers to load on windows 8 PRO. Used to run just fine on Win7 SP1, matter of fact it would install itself as soon as I plugged in the phone along with all the other Samsung usb drivers, now all i get is something called "Samsung File-CD Gadget USB Device" and it doesn't even install it as a phone. Any Ideas?
There have been issues from mobile driver to odin & now up to your post on win8. Donno what's the problem but it seems that what worked on win7 flawlessly for phones doesn't seem to be working equally well on win8. I haven't been able to find the solution too. Tough luck, use win7 itself. Can't help . Hope some one does...
